You’re Not Allowed to Kiss Me Anymore! [Quick Transmigration] 34p2

Chapter 34: Transmigrated as the Abusive Story’s Cannon Fodder Female Supporting Character p2

After Pei Shuangshuang left, Pei Yu led Xin Yao to the VIP room upstairs.

Sitting on the luxurious sofa, Pei Yu turned and asked, “What did she say to you?”

Thinking carefully, Pei Shuangshuang hadn’t really said much. It was Xin Yao who, out of distress for Pei Yu, had lost control of her emotions several times.

Xin Yao had good intuition. She felt that Pei Shuangshuang wasn’t as hateful and disgusted with Pei Yu as Pei Yu thought.

Could it be that Pei Shuangshuang didn’t avoid Pei Yu out of hatred?

Lost in thought, Xin Yao shook her head. “Nothing much, just a brief chat.”

“Then don’t think about it,” Pei Yu said softly. “Don’t mind her, and don’t let it affect your mood.”

As she spoke, she took out a beautiful little gift box from her bag, placed it on the table, and opened the lid. Inside were plump, round candies. They were the wedding candies Pei Yu had just received from the bride.

Pei Yu never had any preference for food; it was just something to fill her stomach.

She had even less of a good impression of candy.

After she turned three, she was released from the basement. Old Man Pei, relying on her abilities, treated her well, giving her whatever she wanted.

But that was all.

Back then, she was still young and sometimes couldn’t control her abilities, revealing her snake tail. The family relatives, the housekeepers, everyone who saw her was too afraid to approach her.

It was under those circumstances that Pei Yu first encountered candy. She heard it was something that made people happy.

At the time, she still held some expectations for her mother, thinking that since it was a good thing, she should give it to her.

The young snake held the candy in her hand and, swaying her tail, secretly went to find her mother.

However, three years had passed, and Pei Shuangshuang still hadn’t recovered, the former young woman now like a skeleton. She looked at the little monster appearing before her, her expression cold.

Pei Yu couldn’t even distinguish emotions now, let alone back then.
She just swayed her tail and ran over, handing the candy she had been holding to Pei Shuangshuang: “Mother, sweet.”

Pei Shuangshuang suddenly went crazy, grabbing a pillow from the bed and throwing it at her.
“Monster! You monster! Get out!”

The nanny, alerted by the noise, rushed in. She wasn’t scared by Pei Yu but was startled by Pei Shuangshuang’s ferociousness. She quickly carried Pei Yu, who was curling her little snake tail, away.

Placed back in her room, the little snake was still confused, not knowing what had happened. She just held the candy, hiding in a corner.
“Sweet, sweet.”

Then she put the candy in her mouth.

But at that time, she didn’t even know how to eat candy, biting into it with the wrapper still on.

She kept comforting herself, “Sweet, sweet.”

It wasn’t sweet at all. The first candy of her life was filled with bitterness.

From then on, Pei Yu never ate candy again.

The wedding candies she received today were something Pei Yu wouldn’t normally care about.
But the moment she saw them, she thought that someone like Xin Yao would probably like candy.

So, as if possessed, she brought the candy back and gave it to her.

As expected, Xin Yao’s eyes lit up the moment she saw the candy.

Candy was her favorite thing in the world!

She clapped her hands excitedly.
“Great! More candy! I know that brand, it’s super expensive!”

Her eyes screamed, “I want to eat it, I want to eat it! Give it to me!”

Looking at her sparkling eyes, Pei Yu paused, then picked a random candy from the box and gave it to her.

Xin Yao became even happier. “Wow! How did you know my favorite is peach flavor?”

She tore open the wrapper and popped the candy into her mouth.

As the sweet taste spread across her palate, her expression became one of happy satisfaction. She then picked a strawberry-flavored one from the box and handed it to Pei Yu.
“It’s so good! Try one.”

Xin Yao was always gentle and thoughtful. As she handed it over, she even peeled off the wrapper, bringing it directly to Pei Yu’s lips.

Pei Yu looked down at the glistening pink candy on Xin Yao’s fingertip, paused for two seconds, then opened her mouth and took it.

“How is it?” Xin Yao asked, her bright eyes smiling at her. “Is it good?”

In the sunlight, Pei Yu’s snow-white eyelashes slowly lifted, looking at Xin Yao beside her.

At that moment, the candy she had given her mother as a child and the candy she had just given Xin Yao, the things her mother had furiously thrown at her and Xin Yao’s soft hand receiving the candy, gradually overlapped.

Thus, her mother’s furious face from her childhood was finally covered by Xin Yao’s bright smile. The strange plastic taste of the wrapper in her memory was neutralized by the sweetness of the candy.

Xin Yao was still softly asking, “Is it good?”

Pei Yu thought for a moment. “It seems… not bad.”

Why could she always get positive feedback from her?

It was as if as long as she was with Xin Yao, she would always feel happiness and hope.

Thinking this, Pei Yu reached out and covered the candy box, stopping Xin Yao, who was trying to sneak another piece.

Xin Yao withdrew her hand, humming softly. “Stingy. You’re getting stingier, Pei Yu. Now I can’t even have a piece of your candy?”

“Next time,” Pei Yu lowered her eyes, putting the candy away. “Come back next time when you want to eat some.”

At that moment, she herself felt childishly thinking, If I always have candy, will you always come to me?

Turning her gaze, Pei Yu looked at Xin Yao sitting there. In the sunlight, Xin Yao was wearing a white dress, swinging her legs and chattering nonstop about Pei Yu’s stinginess.

Word by word, she made this otherwise meaningless morning become lively and boisterous.

And it made Pei Yu, sitting in the light, curve her lips into a soft smile.

It didn’t matter that the first candy of her life was bitter.

The second one would be sweet.
