As the sweet taste spread across her palate, her expression became one of happy satisfaction. She then picked a strawberry-flavored one from the box and handed it to Pei Yu.
“It’s so good! Try one.”
Xin Yao was always gentle and thoughtful. As she handed it over, she even peeled off the wrapper, bringing it directly to Pei Yu’s lips.
Pei Yu looked down at the glistening pink candy on Xin Yao’s fingertip, paused for two seconds, then opened her mouth and took it.
“How is it?” Xin Yao asked, her bright eyes smiling at her. “Is it good?”
In the sunlight, Pei Yu’s snow-white eyelashes slowly lifted, looking at Xin Yao beside her.
At that moment, the candy she had given her mother as a child and the candy she had just given Xin Yao, the things her mother had furiously thrown at her and Xin Yao’s soft hand receiving the candy, gradually overlapped.
Thus, her mother’s furious face from her childhood was finally covered by Xin Yao’s bright smile. The strange plastic taste of the wrapper in her memory was neutralized by the sweetness of the candy.

The second one would be sweet.
