Chapter 2: The Lamb Walks into the Tiger’s Den
Ling Ling rubbed her nose, standing on tiptoe so her master’s hand could rest comfortably on her head. She said softly, “The second Miss of the Cavendish family has important matters to discuss with you. Seeing that Miss was taking a nap, Ling Ling asked them to come back later.”
Naptime was a precious rest period for the maids.
Even the diligent Ling Ling would stop her busy work, curl up her golden tail, and nap on the sofa.
So, she had played a little trick.
Using Lena’s name to send the Cavendish family away, and at the same time, earning some brownie points with Miss, while enjoying a good nap.
Three birds with one stone!
“Hehe.” Lena didn’t expose her, only finding the resourceful little fox girl quite adorable.
This was how it should be, having her own thoughts, not becoming a walking corpse controlled by fate.
Unlike herself in the previous life…
“Let’s go,” Lena stroked Ling Ling’s ear.
Ling Ling immediately tensed up: “Where to?”
The first target for revenge had appeared.
Lena’s lips curled into a smile. “To meet the hero’s sister-in-law, the future Saintess of the Holy Inquisition, Angel Cavendish.”
…
In the late afternoon, a group of people arrived at the gates of the Falmouth family estate.
Looking at Miss Saintess Candidate hurrying towards the house from the floor-to-ceiling window, Lena revealed a cruel smile.
She couldn’t wait to savor the taste of fear.
Ling Ling, standing beside her, twitched her tail, a bad premonition rising within her.
“They’re here, Miss.”
“I know. Let them wait. There’s no rush…” Lena entered the study unhurriedly, her light voice drifting out from the crack in the door. “One must show sincerity when asking for help. Such rudeness and recklessness hardly befit a Saintess Candidate… As her senior, I’m not a devil. I’ll open the door to welcome the guests when the time is right. No rush, let’s play with her for a bit.”
Lena knew what was going on.
According to the original plot, Angel would come seeking medical help for her dying pure white dragon cub, only to be humiliated and driven away by the original Lena, planting the seeds of revenge and fueling her ambition.
If she remembered correctly, this was a crucial turning point in Angel’s life.
Angel was quite influential. Not only did she have a sweet singing voice, but her beauty was also pure and stunning. She consistently ranked among the top three in the empire’s beauty rankings and later served as the priest in the hero’s party, a versatile support with exceptional healing abilities.
It was because the original Lena offended this famous Saintess Candidate that the subsequent butterfly effect occurred.
It was also Angel, after becoming the Saintess of the Holy Inquisition, who inflicted endless pain and torment upon her.
Lena pressed her hand against her heart, seemingly recalling the terrifying power of the Holy Fire from her past life.
“If I can win over Angel in her youth, it’s equivalent to directly removing a major fighting force from the hero’s party…”
Since she wanted revenge on the hero, why not start with those close to him?
Hmm, it seemed the beautiful girls surrounding the hero were all top-notch delicacies.
And that damned pure white dragon, after ascending to the eighth rank, its holy attribute almost devastated her skeletal sea. Several seventh-rank bone dragons she sent were no match for it.
The thought of such immense power soon being at her disposal excited Lena.
What could be more enjoyable than NTR?
“It should be about time.”
Lena adjusted her appearance and opened the study door. The Saintess Candidate, who had been waiting anxiously, immediately rushed in, holding a sickly white dragon cub in her arms.
“Please save Little White, I beg you!”
Her beautiful face was streaked with tears, her pink hair, interwoven with light blue highlights, cascading down to her knees, giving her an indescribable air of liveliness.
Angel was weeping profusely.
Hearing that the academy’s top necromancer lived in this mansion, she had come specifically to visit, hoping that this mage with long gray hair could save her pet.
She hadn’t expected to be given the cold shoulder upon arriving at the Falmouth estate.
A golden fox girl, appearing from who knows where, had blocked their path and made them wait patiently outside the study.
Who gave her the authority and courage?
Speaking of Lena Falmouth…
This prodigious talent, who consistently topped the academy’s necromancy department, had passed the academy’s assessment and advanced to the fourth-rank mage at the young age of sixteen. Even the dean of the branch academy had to show her some respect.
Her only flaw was perhaps her notorious and unconventional sexual orientation.
That’s right.
Lena Falmouth, female, preferred females, and her greatest pleasure in life was toying with beautiful upperclassmen and flirting with innocent lowerclassmen. She seemed to accept all comers, flirting with anyone she met.
A natural-born scoundrel, yet possessing unparalleled magical talent.
Unsurprisingly, Lena became the target of criticism from various departments.
Of course, all the gossip was behind her back.
The students feared Lena and heeded the warnings of their elders—
Never provoke the Falmouth family, known as one of the empire’s three axes, the Hand of the Empire.
…
“I see. Your holy pet white dragon has been afflicted with an unregistered necromantic spell. However, your profession as a holy priest clashes with necromancy, preventing you from analyzing the spell, hence the urgent need for a skilled necromancer.”
Lena pondered after listening to Angel’s plea.
“Since it’s the wish of Miss Saintess Candidate, and you have a personal letter from the dean, I’ll gladly assist…”
“That’s wonderful!”
Angel interrupted, her tears turning into a smile. Tiny, glistening teardrops clung to her long eyelashes, as fresh and beautiful as a lotus flower emerging from the water.
The rumored debauched and promiscuous “human bulldozer” was unexpectedly easy to talk to, and not as aggressive as she had imagined…
Could the rumors be false?
If Lena could truly save her pet, she wouldn’t mind helping to correct Lena’s notorious image.
A few concerts using her status as a Saintess Candidate could easily achieve that!
“Is there anything I can do to help?” Angel wiped away her tears, wanting to assist. She looked around the study, unable to bear the messy environment.
Maybe she could help clean up. After all, Angel felt quite embarrassed about barging into someone’s home.
“No need. Have your people leave. I need a quiet environment.”
Lena took the white dragon from Angel, who was dressed in a nun’s habit. She swept aside the scattered books with her left hand and placed them flat on the table.
“Okay, no problem!”
Angel quickly dismissed her attendants, ignoring their worried glances.
This young girl was clearly too naive, unconditionally believing Lena’s words with a little persuasion.
Little did she know, the abyss was right before her.
“Close the door.”
“Click!”
The door was securely shut.
“Everyone’s gone?”
“Mm-hmm!”
Afraid that Lena wouldn’t believe her, Angel took out a magic scroll and cast a temporary confinement spell on the door.
Now no one could enter, and no one could leave.
Lena nodded. “Good. Take off your clothes.”
“Okay!”
Angel was about to foolishly comply when she suddenly reacted. “Wait, you’re saving my pet, why should I take off my clothes?”
“My mind needs the stimulation of a completely n*ked beautiful girl to unleash its potential.”
Lena propped her chin on her hand, looking at her with interest, her red lips slightly parting:
“Don’t you want to save your pet?”
