Girl Doesn’t Die in Fairytale Town: Chapter 51 – Why?
“Damn it, finally done!”
Alyxsia tightened the last screw, injected the ignition energy into the assembled energy crystal array, and then threw it towards the collapsing Ghost Town.
“Boom…”
With a deafening roar, the illusion of Ghost Town shattered.
The town, slowly decaying in frozen time, reappeared in the real world, but the already desolate town instantly crumbled upon contact.
It was as if all the stagnant time within the town rapidly flowed, and except for the collapsed ruins of the church, all other buildings turned into dust and scattered in the wind.
However, along with the town, the pervasive blood mist and the giant crimson monster also appeared in the real world.
Freed from the confines of Ghost Town, the blood mist began to spread rapidly, quickly doubling in size, encroaching on Yan City’s main districts.
The crimson monster frantically devoured everything, its size continuously expanding. Even more terrifying, its immense mental power was now affecting the real world.
Illusory monsters materialized, spreading outwards along with the blood mist.
Alyxsia, who had shattered the illusion of Ghost Town, was overjoyed to detect Grifres’s aura. Although faint, he was still alive.
Ignoring her grime-covered appearance, she activated a spiritual energy shield to protect herself from the blood mist and rushed towards Grifres’s location.
The indiscriminately attacking illusory monsters were no match for Alyxsia. She quickly reached the church ruins, the only safe point in Ghost Town, before Yan City could react.
All the survivors, including the outsiders who hadn’t fully escaped Mrs. Natalie’s influence, had gathered there.
Hua Qiling desperately fought off the constantly attacking illusory monsters, while Grifres leaned against a corner, his head lowered in silence.
Even when Alyxsia arrived, he didn’t look up.
“Brother!”
Alyxsia strode through the blood mist and rushed to Grifres’s side.
With a wave of her hand, a few flashes of light annihilated the illusory monsters that had been pressing Hua Qiling back.
“You, you are…?”
Hua Qiling looked at Alyxsia in shock. Hearing the previous address, she understood.
Another Dawn Cadre…
“…You’ve come?”
Grifres lifted his eyelids slightly, then lowered them again.
The unconscious Ling Qi lay beside him, her breathing also faint.
“Yes, I’m here to take you away.”
Alyxsia said gravely, wasting no time and taking out her devices to transport Grifres and Ling Qi.
“Wait…” Grifres interrupted Alyxsia, nodding towards Hua Qiling. “Take her and those others back to Yan City as well.”
Besides Ling Qi, there were other unconscious Yan City residents there.
“People from the Free Federation…”
Alyxsia looked at Hua Qiling, her gaze sharp.
Meeting her gaze, Hua Qiling felt a chill, as if all her secrets were exposed.
“She saved me.”
Grifres’s explanation was concise.
His pride had been severely wounded on this mission. Whether it was being saved by Hua Qiling or the ineffectiveness of his Forbidden Technique, he felt a sense of helpless frustration.
Moreover, for the first time, Grifres had truly felt fear. When he sensed the fully formed will of the “Witch of Envy” within the blood mist, he couldn’t muster any resistance, only the urge to flee.
And the mysterious silver-haired girl in Ghost Town, regardless of her true identity, her courage to face a Primordial Demon head-on…
He didn’t possess that.
“Let’s go back.”
Grifres whispered.
Alyxsia hesitated, then agreed to his request, but she still looked at Hua Qiling, her arms crossed, and said coldly,
“Listen, girl, you’re the first Free Federation person I’ve ever rescued. You should consider yourself lucky.”
Hua Qiling’s expression was strange. She glanced at Grifres and quipped,
“As expected, all Dawn Cadres have the same weird temper.”
Alyxsia: “…”
“I’m not going to waste any more words on you. Follow me, I’ll take you out.”
Alyxsia snorted, turned around, and tossed a few devices to Hua Qiling to carry the other unconscious Yan City residents.
Although she didn’t know what the blood mist was made of, Alyxsia’s crude but effective spiritual energy shield worked perfectly, its only drawback being its high energy consumption.
The path out of the blood mist wasn’t too long. Soon, all the survivors had escaped its reach.
After Hua Qiling settled the unconscious Yan City residents, Alyxsia retrieved her devices. For some reason, she felt that Hua Qiling seemed more agreeable now, less annoying.
But still a Free Federation person.
“Hmph, farewell.”
Alyxsia turned up her nose and left those words behind. Grifres simply nodded in farewell.
Before Yan City’s reinforcements arrived, the Dawn members quickly departed.
Soon, Yan City received the signal from Hua Qiling’s earpiece and quickly dispatched a team to retrieve them, led by Elder Sun Biwu.
“Xiao Hua, are you alright?”
Sun Biwu immediately asked about Hua Qiling’s condition upon arrival.
Like Li Ping, he had watched Hua Qiling grow up, and her older sister, Hua Qingling, who had grown so powerful that she had surpassed them both.
“I’m fine,” Hua Qiling shook her head. “Grandpa Sun, let’s go back.”
“Alright, alright…”
Sun Biwu nodded repeatedly. He didn’t dare delay in this situation.
The blood mist was still spreading, the crimson monster faintly visible within it. The crisis wasn’t over yet.
Before leaving, Hua Qiling looked up towards the depths of the blood mist. She seemed to see a small figure standing alone, confronting the crimson monster.
“Miss Luo Yan…”
…
With the complete collapse of Ghost Town’s illusion, Mrs. Natalie could no longer maintain the temporary spiritual domain. Her power wasn’t enough to sustain it for long.
The monsters were instantly exposed to the blood mist. They looked at their former home, now in ruins, their past memories gradually returning.
“Mrs. Natalie, you ask me why I’m doing this…” Luo Yan whispered, raising her cane and pointing at the disfigured townspeople. “But why don’t you ask them?”
