Girl Doesn’t Die in Fairytale Town: Chapter 50 – The True Past
All stories begin with “Once upon a time,” but this story tells of what happened “a long, long time ago.”
“Happy Town” was once just an ordinary town, its residents living peaceful, uneventful lives.
Not far from the town stood a luxurious manor, known as “Natalie Manor,” and its owner was Mrs. Natalie.
Mrs. Natalie and her only daughter, Little Tini, lived a secluded life. Few people, besides the manor’s servants, ever saw them, and they had little interaction with the townspeople.
Life in the town should have continued this way, peaceful and tranquil, but at some point, a sudden “disaster” shattered this peace.
An unknown plague appeared in the town, and as this strange plague spread, chaos gradually descended.
At first, it was just a few townspeople coughing and falling ill, but some also developed strange powers.
However, as time went on, both those who coughed and those with strange powers fell ill, their appearances becoming distorted before they died.
Eventually, the graveyard outside the town was filled with grotesque corpses, the shadow of death looming over the town, and panic spreading like wildfire.
So, where did this plague come from?
The true answer was unknown, but at the time, with the emergence of a rumor, all fingers pointed at “Natalie Manor.”
“Mrs. Natalie is a witch! An evil witch! This plague is her doing! She’s absorbing the power of death!”
This baseless rumor quickly spread throughout the town, and almost everyone believed it.
To substantiate the rumor, they even fabricated a series of “evidence.”
“Mrs. Natalie is so beautiful; she must be using witchcraft to maintain her appearance!”
“Mrs. Natalie rarely leaves her manor; she must be brewing evil spells inside!”
“Mrs. Natalie has a sick daughter; she must be doing all of this to save her!”
Even though a few informed individuals tried to defend her, their voices were drowned out by the angry mob. No one believed them.
Soon, the enraged townspeople stormed Natalie Manor, killing almost all the servants. Ronner, the butler, was dismembered and his body torn apart as he desperately resisted.
Kind-hearted Andre was hacked to death in his butcher shop, Dr. Messier, Little Tini’s physician, had her tongue ripped out and was nailed to the wall in her office, and Priest Upton, who tried to stop the frenzied townspeople, was cut in half…
Anyone associated with Mrs. Natalie, or anyone who spoke in her defense, was brutally murdered as accomplices of the devil.
Mrs. Natalie and her only daughter, Little Tini, were sent to the stake, to face “judgment” in the raging flames.
Subjected to countless curses, burdened by resentment and fear, witnessing these hellish scenes, and watching her only daughter, Little Tini, die in her arms, Mrs. Natalie finally broke.
In her despair, tears of blood streaming down her face, she prayed to both gods and demons, willing to pay any price to save her daughter and the townspeople who had helped her.
“It was Miss Luo Yan, Miss Luo Yan answered me…”
In Mrs. Natalie’s fragmented memories, it was Luo Yan who saved her from the flames, who brought the “Lord’s” will and salvation.
Although… the “Lord” hadn’t fulfilled her wish.
The “Lord” hadn’t saved anyone. He had only granted Mrs. Natalie the power to resurrect the dead and immense mental power.
Mrs. Natalie killed all the townspeople, imprisoning their souls in their bodies, enslaving their wills.
At the same time, she resurrected all those who had helped her, using her mental power to alter their perceptions, allowing them to live on in this twisted way.
But Mrs. Natalie hadn’t paid any price to the “Lord” for this, because the cost… was Little Tini’s soul and will.
And someone without a soul and will couldn’t be resurrected by any means.
Even Butler Ronner, whose body had been torn apart, could be revived by piecing together other corpses.
Mrs. Natalie returned to her manor, holding Little Tini’s belongings, using her mental power to gather the remnants of her daughter’s wishes within them.
And so, the doll Little Tini was born.
However, it wasn’t the real Little Tini, and under the influence of the “Witch of Envy’s” will, these wishes were twisted and corrupted, completely deviating from Little Tini’s original intentions.
No matter what, Mrs. Natalie had failed. The “Lord” had saved her from the abyss of despair, only to playfully push her into another.
—Until Miss Luo Yan reappeared.
When this mysterious silver-haired girl inexplicably awakened in this cursed town, the entire town fell into an untouchable dream, and the “eternal happiness” Mrs. Natalie longed for appeared.
Based on Little Tini’s sketchbook, a happy town was formed.
Even Little Tini, whose soul had been devoured by the demon, reappeared before Mrs. Natalie, not as a twisted doll, but as her former self.
Although her past memories were blurry, Mrs. Natalie immediately recognized this silver-haired girl as the Miss Luo Yan who had saved her from the stake.
But she seemed dazed, unaware of anything, completely different from the powerful, silent figure in Mrs. Natalie’s memory.
But it didn’t matter. Miss Luo Yan was Miss Luo Yan, her savior, Little Tini’s savior, everyone’s… benefactor.
“But Miss Luo Yan, why… why are you destroying everything you created…?”
Mrs. Natalie sobbed silently, watching the townspeople wailing in pain, the same heartache and despair from that day returning.
Luo Yan stood silently before her, offering no answer.
…
Meanwhile, outside the spiritual domain, the crimson monster had gone berserk. Even Hua Qiling and Grifres, hiding in the church ruins, could feel the entire space shaking under the onslaught of the blood mist.
The continuous impacts caused the illusory barrier of Ghost Town to flicker wildly, revealing glimpses of the “Primordial Demon’s” aura.
One final push, and Ghost Town would completely collapse.
And this final push… would be delivered by Alyxsia.
