Chapter 89

When are you marrying me?

The question echoed in Zhuo Zhi’s mind, each word feeling distant and unreal.

When?

Marry me?

Zhuo Zhi’s mind went blank, a mix of emotions swirling within her.

Happiness, that the person she loved had said these words.

Shock, that this carefree and rebellious person had said these words.

Guilt, that she had never considered this question herself.

Certainty, that her feelings were genuine and unwavering.

Confusion, this was a serious matter, did she have to answer now?

Li Qinyue’s tone had been lighthearted when she asked the question, but her gaze, fixed on Zhuo Zhi’s eyes, was intense, seeing through all the emotions the girl couldn’t hide.

She took a step back, her hands still cupping Zhuo Zhi’s face, and asked, “Is it a difficult question?”

“Ah…” Zhuo Zhi made a small sound, like a stunned chicken.

“No rush,” Li Qinyue rubbed her cheeks gently, “You’re still young.”

“I’m serious!” Zhuo Zhi blurted out, her voice full of anxiety.

“I know, I know,” Li Qinyue’s voice was incredibly gentle, “I just thought of it, wanted to give you a heads-up. You can think about it, three years, five years, seven years, ten years, we’ll see how things go.”

Zhuo Zhi bit her lip, her brows furrowing slightly.

Li Qinyue let go of her face and stretched, changing the subject, “Just sitting there and talking might seem easy, but therapy is actually quite tiring.”

“I’ll give you a massage,” Zhuo Zhi immediately offered.

“One-armed bandit, it won’t be very comfortable,” Li Qinyue took off her jacket, “I’ll go downstairs later.”

“No way!” Zhuo Zhi exclaimed, “Even with one hand, I’m better than those professionals!”

“You’re that good?” Li Qinyue chuckled, looking at her sideways.

“Anyway, you’re not going downstairs, that place offers all kinds of services,” Zhuo Zhi stood behind the sofa and placed her left hand on the back of Li Qinyue’s neck.

And it was true, even with one arm, Zhuo Zhi was strong.

Her slender fingers gripped the back of Li Qinyue’s neck, almost reaching her bone.

It was painful, and pleasurable.

Li Qinyue sighed softly, leaning back, her body relaxing.

“I’m better than those masseuses downstairs, and I’m free,” Zhuo Zhi said smugly.

“You’re eating my food, living in my house, it evens out,” Li Qinyue’s voice held a hint of amusement.

“I can pay you rent!” Zhuo Zhi said.

“For this place? Can you even afford it?” Li Qinyue raised an eyebrow.

“I can’t,” Zhuo Zhi sighed, continuing to massage Li Qinyue’s neck, then added, “This isn’t sustainable.”

“Are you serious?” Li Qinyue chuckled, “You’re a student now, I’ll support you. You can support me after you graduate and start earning money.”

“No problem!” She said it with such force that her grip tightened, making Li Qinyue yelp.

Li Qinyue’s standards for “supporting someone” were always shocking to the commoner Zhuo Zhi.

She had thought that having a housekeeper, a cleaner, and a private doctor was the peak of luxury, but as spring arrived, the most famous physics teacher from the provincial high school came to their apartment to grade the practice exams she had just taken.

Zhuo Zhi knew this teacher, because he was the one who had set the exams.

The usually fearless Zhuo Zhi was now a nervous wreck. After serving tea and water to the teacher, she excused herself and went to the bathroom.

Her fingers trembling slightly, she messaged Li Qinyue:

  • How did you get Teacher Jiang to come?!

Li Qinyue replied:

  • His nephew just got promoted to director at Bohan Trading.

Li Qinyue had mentioned Bohan Trading before, it was one of the Li family’s businesses. Zhuo Zhi breathed a sigh of relief.

It was a clear exchange of favors, a coincidence, but it was mainly because Li Qinyue cared about her. Zhuo Zhi smiled.

She felt much more confident facing Teacher Jiang now, focusing on the exam problems, enjoying a valuable tutoring session.

However, the next day, the doorbell rang again. This time, it was a top math teacher from the Fourth High School, who had recently been promoted to head of department.

  • Teacher Zhang’s daughter is a trainee at Shengle Media.

That was Li Qinyue’s reply.

The third day:

  • Teacher Li’s husband had some issues with his insurance recently, I happen to know someone who can help.

The fourth day:

  • Teacher Tong was my teacher, and I made her life hell, now she’s here for revenge.

The fifth day:

  • Teacher Zhou? Which Teacher Zhou? Okay, I’m too lazy to make up stories now, just ask Zhao Jie.

Zhao Jie was Li Qinyue’s current assistant, always by her side. With his exceptional skills and efficiency, he had quickly become her right-hand man.

Zhuo Zhi had met Zhao Jie once. Although he had been polite and friendly, his aura of competence was undeniable.

Ask Zhao Jie? Zhuo Zhi’s world view might be shattered again.

In short, Li Qinyue had turned the best teachers in Nanhai City into Zhuo Zhi’s private tutors. The schedule was well-paced, and there was even a counselor who would occasionally talk to her, helping her manage her stress.

Zhuo Zhi hadn’t felt stressed before. Her grades had always been good, and she wasn’t aiming for a specific university, she had a range of options, and any of them would help her achieve her goals.

But things were different now. Li Qinyue had put so much effort into this, it wasn’t just about whether or not Zhuo Zhi’s efforts would pay off, but also, Li Qinyue had subtly removed all possible excuses for failure.

Tsk, during a session with her counselor, Zhuo Zhi asked frankly, “Do you think my girlfriend is doing this on purpose?”

The counselor, as gentle as a spring breeze, smiled and asked, “Has Miss Li set any specific academic goals for you?”

“No,” Zhuo Zhi shook her head, “She even distracts me from my studies when she gets home from work.”

“Then why do you think she’s doing this on purpose?” the counselor said, “She probably just wants to give you the best resources. The final decision is still yours.”

“You have a point,” Zhuo Zhi nodded, sighing, “I must have done something good in my past life.”

For the next few days, when Li Qinyue came home, Zhuo Zhi would follow her around, fussing over her with her one good arm.

Li Qinyue, used to being pampered, didn’t mind. But at night, in bed, her hands would be more restless, her touch more insistent.

Zhuo Zhi would curl up under the covers, carefully protecting her injured arm, torn between wanting to dodge Li Qinyue’s touch and wanting to snuggle closer.

Li Qinyue pushed her nightgown up to her neck, her movements dislodging the covers, letting in a draft of cold air, making Zhuo Zhi shiver.

But it was Li Qinyue who was doing this to her, and Zhuo Zhi firmly believed that Li Qinyue would protect her, cherish her, and never hurt her.

So, after a brief internal struggle, Zhuo Zhi, her face pressed against Li Qinyue’s stomach, asked, “What are you doing, Sister?”

Li Qinyue’s muffled voice came from her stomach, “Don’t you know what I want?”

“You told me not to move this hand,” Zhuo Zhi said, wiggling her cast, “But my left hand is free.”

“Free my ass,” Li Qinyue’s breath tickled her skin, her hand squeezing Zhuo Zhi’s waist, making her heart flutter.

Zhuo Zhi said, her voice trembling slightly, “Come up here, Sister.”

“Hmm?” Li Qinyue looked up but didn’t move.

“Come closer, then I won’t have to move my right hand,” Zhuo Zhi’s throat felt dry, and she wanted to kiss Li Qinyue to quench her thirst.

But Li Qinyue didn’t fall for it. She stayed in the same position, her hand reaching out like she was picking a ripe peach.

“Do you know,” she said slowly, “there’s another solution to this problem?”

“What?” Zhuo Zhi’s throat felt even drier.

“You really don’t know?” Li Qinyue chuckled, “You’re pretending.”

“I…” Zhuo Zhi hesitated, “I haven’t… tried it…”

Li Qinyue’s smile widened. She finally moved closer to Zhuo Zhi, propping herself up on one arm, looking down at her.

Her long hair cascaded down, creating a curtain of intimacy.

“You’ve really never tried it?” Li Qinyue whispered, one of her legs moving between Zhuo Zhi’s.

“I never even thought about it before,” Zhuo Zhi’s face was warm, her pulse throbbing in her fingertips. She gently caressed Li Qinyue’s arm with her left hand, “I only started thinking about it after meeting you.”

“You haven’t even tried it yourself?” Li Qinyue asked.

Six months ago, Zhuo Zhi wouldn’t have understood what she was asking. But things were different now. She was no longer innocent, with this beautiful woman constantly by her side, if it weren’t for her injured arm and her focus on studying, she would have been indulging every night.

Now, although she couldn’t physically indulge, her imagination was free to roam.

“No,” she answered Li Qinyue, then couldn’t help but raise her upper body, wanting to kiss her, “I only learned what it feels like to be with you, Sister.”

Li Qinyue leaned down, their lips meeting halfway, sharing a passionate kiss.

“No, you’ve only learned half of it,” Li Qinyue said, pulling away slightly.

“Hmm?” Zhuo Zhi’s question was a muffled sound.

Li Qinyue’s knee moved upwards, pressing against the thin fabric of Zhuo Zhi’s nightgown, her touch suggestive.

“How about I teach you the other half tonight?”

“Why…” Zhuo Zhi’s breath hitched, a wave of pleasure washing over her, “Why… tonight…?”

“I always felt you were too young, I couldn’t bring myself to do it,” Li Qinyue’s voice was soft, but her knee suddenly pressed harder, a sudden, intimate intrusion.

“Hmm…” Zhuo Zhi bit her lip, the pleasure mixed with a strange sense of shame.

“But it’s been too long,” Li Qinyue, who hadn’t sworn for a while, said, “I can’t fucking take it anymore.”
