You’re Not Allowed to Kiss Me Anymore! [Quick Transmigration] 14

Chapter 14: Transmigrated as the Abusive Story’s Cannon Fodder Female Supporting Character

The next morning, Xu Qing left without saying goodbye. Xin Wanyin only realized he was gone when she heard the door close.

She got out of bed and went to the window, watching him walk down the street, presumably heading to a job interview.

Instinctively, she opened her drawer and grabbed the car keys, about to follow him.

Xin Yao had been right. The car Xin Wanyin had bought was intended as a graduation gift for Xu Qing, for his commute to work.

But as she walked, the memory of shivering through the cold night, and her sister’s words, surfaced in her mind.

She stopped, looking down at the car keys in her hand. After a moment, she turned back, tossing the keys back into the drawer.

Arguing, arguing, always arguing!

All he did was argue with her!

She had fought with her sister for him, was it so wrong to want a warm room? She wasn’t even asking him to pay for it!

He didn’t care about her at all.

Fine, then he could freeze while looking for a job!

Meanwhile, Xu Qing had deliberately slammed the door on his way out, hoping to get Xin Wanyin’s attention.

When he didn’t see her rushing out as usual, his face darkened.

But he was running late for his interview, so he left without waiting.

He had forgotten one thing.

The villa was located in an upscale, sprawling neighborhood, far from the subway station. In this affluent area, he couldn’t even find a shared bike.

In the original story, Xin Wanyin hadn’t argued with Xu Qing, so she had given him the car, which he readily accepted, driving comfortably to work.

This time, however, Xu Qing sulked, walking alone in the cold winter wind. It took him a long time to reach the main gate of the neighborhood.

Then, after searching for a while, he finally found a shared bike.

He was running out of time for his interview.

Anxious, he pedaled furiously.

The cold winter wind whipped against his face and hands, making his skin raw and his fingers numb.

But he didn’t have time to worry about that.

The traffic light ahead was about to turn red. He sped up, trying to make it across.

A red-haired young man in a sports car, startled by Xu Qing’s sudden acceleration, rolled down his window and yelled, “Are you crazy?!”

Xu Qing ignored him, glancing back before continuing to pedal.

His usual deadpan expression only served to irritate the young man further.

“Hey, asshole!”

The young man slammed on the accelerator, his car roaring past Xu Qing.

The weather was gloomy, and it had rained lightly the night before, leaving the roads wet.

As the sports car sped past, it hit a puddle.

A wave of muddy water splashed onto Xu Qing, soaking him from head to toe.

The red-haired young man laughed. “Idiot!”

Then, he sped away.

Xu Qing, caught off guard, was covered in mud, his interview suit ruined, his face and hands stinging from the cold.

His face turned red with anger.

“You!”

But the sports car was already gone.

His anger simmered, making his face flush, then pale, then darken with rage.

But he didn’t have time to waste.

He quickly wiped the mud off his face and clothes and hurried towards the interview.

Despite his best efforts, he was still an hour late.

When he arrived, the interview was over, and the interviewer was just leaving the conference room.

Xu Qing rushed forward, stopping him. “Excuse me, sir, I’m here for the interview. I’m so sorry I’m late. Something came up. Could you please give me another chance?”

The interviewer, startled, looked down at Xu Qing’s mud-stained clothes and frowned.

“I’m sorry, sir, but our company values punctuality. Regardless of the reason, being late means forfeiting the opportunity. My apologies.”

Half an hour later, Xu Qing left the company, rejected.

He stood on the cold street, his clothes stained with dried mud, his face and hands red from the cold, looking like a pathetic clown.

Recalling the disastrous morning, he closed his eyes, his fist slamming against a nearby car.

He was seething with rage.

That evening, the ever-diligent Wang Dui Dui reported Xin Wanyin and Xu Qing’s argument to Xin Yao.

It was all thanks to Xin Yao.

If she hadn’t fired Xu Qing, he wouldn’t have been so concerned about the electricity bill.

If she hadn’t frozen Xin Wanyin’s cards, Xin Wanyin wouldn’t have felt so wronged and resentful.

The first step in breaking them up had been a success.

Xin Yao and the dog system celebrated with a toast.

The celebration, however, quickly became chaotic.

The dog system, having lost all sense of decorum, barked and yipped excitedly.

He sprawled on Xin Yao’s sofa, demanding to become sworn siblings with her.

Xin Yao, perfectly sober and utterly disgusted, refused, swatting his paw away and sending him back to the system space.

With the troublesome creature gone, peace returned to the apartment. It was time for Xin Yao to take a bath and go to bed.

As the daughter of a wealthy family, Xin Yao enjoyed a comfortable lifestyle.

This was evident in her large bathroom, complete with a luxurious jacuzzi tub.

She had developed a habit of enjoying a glass of wine while soaking in the tub, pondering her next move.

After filling the tub with warm water, she tested the temperature with her toes before stepping in.

Ripples spread across the surface as she sat down, her skin turning a delicate pink from the heat and moisture. Water droplets glistened on her skin like tiny crystals.

She looked like a ripe peach, tempting and irresistible.

A soft, sweet fragrance filled the air.

Xin Yao took a sip of wine, the liquid staining her lips a deeper red. She leaned back against the tub, relaxing.

The water wasn’t too deep, reaching just below her chest as she reclined. The gentle ripples teased the curve of her breasts.

She tilted her head back, her hair coming loose and clinging to her wet neck and shoulders, the contrast between black and white creating a striking visual.

She looked like a seductive enchantress, or a beautiful, vulnerable swan.

Her fingers, tinged with pink, rested on the edge of the tub as she thought about her next move.

The warm bathroom, despite the cold winter outside, was cozy and comfortable.

In fact, she was starting to feel a little too warm.

She wiped a bead of sweat from her forehead, a few strands of hair clinging to her cheek.

She had ignored the heat at first, but now it was becoming unbearable, making her thirsty and unable to focus.

A burning sensation spread across her chest, as if a hot iron had been pressed against her skin.

Unable to bear it any longer, she opened her eyes and sat up, startled by the flushed color of her skin.

But as she looked down, her eyes widened in horror, a gasp escaping her lips.

On her chest, right where the burning sensation was most intense, a tiny white snake was coiled.

It looked like a tattoo, but it was moving, slithering across her skin, its tiny tongue flicking out.

What was that?!

Xin Yao’s heart pounded. She immediately thought of Pei Yu.

It had to be related to her, but Pei Yu hadn’t mentioned anything!

Instinctively, she reached out to touch the tiny snake, trying to rub it away.

But it wasn’t a sticker. Rubbing it only intensified the heat, making her fingers burn.

It was the source of the heat spreading through her body.

As her anxiety increased, the tiny snake grew hotter, making Xin Yao’s face flush, her chest heaving, her breath coming in short gasps.

She felt weak, her fingers gripping the edge of the tub, her head spinning.

Just as she felt like she was about to lose consciousness, a loud crash startled her.

Something had fallen into the tub, sending a wave of water splashing onto her face and neck, momentarily blinding her.

She could only vaguely sense the object landing in front of her.

“Ah!” she cried out instinctively.

As her voice echoed through the bathroom, the water cascaded down like rain.

Through the spray and the mist, Xin Yao finally saw what had fallen into her tub.

She was stunned.

Sitting in her tub, right in front of her, was none other than Miss Pei!

Pei Yu was wearing a simple black dress, her white hair neatly styled. She must have been at an event, judging by her elegant, professional attire.

She should have looked impeccable, but now, soaked from head to toe, her usually aloof face covered in water droplets, her elegant black dress clinging to her body, the strap slipping from her shoulder to reveal the curve of her collarbone, she looked like a beautiful, water-drenched sculpture.

Her expression was calm, but her eyes held a rare look of confusion.

They stared at each other in the small tub, surrounded by mist and falling water droplets.

Their gazes met, a mixture of hazy confusion and electric tension.

For a moment, the world seemed to fall silent.

But cold-blooded creatures, by nature, were always alert to their surroundings.

After a brief pause, Pei Yu’s gaze shifted downwards, landing on Xin Yao in the tub, taking in every detail.

Her breath hitched, her pupils contracting into narrow slits, revealing her reptilian eyes.

Her sudden transformation startled Xin Yao. Realizing her state of undress, she gasped and covered her chest.

Hearing her gasp, Pei Yu snapped out of her trance.

She quickly averted her gaze, politely looking away.

She remained in that position, not looking at Xin Yao, reaching for a nearby towel and draping it over her.

Xin Yao didn’t see the way Pei Yu’s crimson eyes deepened in color beneath her lowered lashes.

She instinctively wrapped the towel around herself, still dazed.

As Xin Yao’s mind raced, trying to understand how President Pei had ended up in her bathtub, Pei Yu spoke, her voice muffled by the steam.

“Xin Yao,” she said, “I’ve changed my mind.”

Xin Yao, still trying to process the situation, was even more confused.

“Huh?”

Changed her mind? About what?

Pei Yu’s fingertips fidgeted with her skirt. Her voice was calm and cool, like jade falling into water.

“Initially, I decided to wait until the weekend because I didn’t want to pressure you.”

But sometimes, the calmest people were the wildest.

“But I overestimated myself. And my self-control.”

“Hmm?” Xin Yao blinked. “What do you mean? Could you be more specific?”

“I mean…” A drop of water slid down Pei Yu’s face, highlighting her stunning profile. Her white eyelashes lowered further, but they couldn’t hide the predatory glint in her eyes.

Her voice, however, remained calm.

Calmly uttering the most outrageous words.

“My heat cycle seems to have started early.”

“Xin Yao, I can’t wait until the weekend. I want to do it now. Is that alright?”
