Chapter 11: Don’t Open the Door
As Yun Xiu had expected, the Serpent Queen, commander of the Southern Fortress, showed no restraint. At dinner, she wore a revealing nightgown and sat beside Yan Zhen, constantly serving him food and offering him toasts.
When he said he didn’t drink alcohol, she thoughtfully suggested he use tea instead, toasting him repeatedly, her cheeks flushed, her eyes filled with a seductive charm. She was like a beautiful, alluring demon.
And her ample bosom kept brushing against his arm, seemingly unintentional, yet deliberate, making him blush.

In her previous life, she hadn’t understood Ye Mei’s persistence. Now she realized Ye Mei’s heart had been captured when he “rescued” her during the Sand Scorpion attack last night.

She glanced at Yan Zhen, her gaze filled with a mixture of annoyance and affection.
Yan Zhen, however, was unfazed. He knew her intentions.
In the script, she would pretend to be drunk during dinner, then sneak into his room at night.
But his heart already belonged to Yun Xiu, so he would firmly reject her.
She wouldn’t give up, however, pushing him down, kissing, rubbing, and licking him, trying to arouse him. However, she was inexperienced, her techniques clumsy. He remained unmoved, simply watching her coldly.
In the end, frustrated and humiliated, she would leave, his virginity preserved, only to be later claimed by the more forceful Jiu Youyue.
This scene served to highlight his faithfulness, a key plot point. He had to play it well.
He genuinely wasn’t attracted to Ye Mei. Playing the role shouldn’t be difficult, but with Yun Xiu present, things might not go as smoothly as planned.
He could only take it one step at a time.
“By the way, I haven’t asked for this young lady’s name.”
Ye Mei, one hand on his shoulder, the other holding a wine cup, her gaze fixed on Yun Xiu.
Yun Xiu, her expression neutral, replied calmly, “My surname is Yun.”
“So it’s Miss Yun.” Ye Mei smiled. “May I ask, what is your relationship with Young Master Yan Zhen?”
“I’m his…”

Reinforcements from the Gallo Kingdom would arrive soon. Ye Mei would definitely interact with them, and her identity would be exposed.
She changed her answer.
“I’m his… older sister.”
“Older sister? Oh~” Ye Mei’s tone was suggestive. “Young Master Yan Zhen is so talented and handsome. You must be very proud of him, Miss Yun.”
Yun Xiu glanced at Yan Zhen, then smiled faintly, patting his head.
“Indeed.”
He shook his head, displeased.
Ye Mei giggled. “You two have such a close sibling relationship~”
“We’re not close,” he denied. “And we’re not related by blood.”
Yun Xiu sighed, retracting her hand, pinching his waist discreetly.

After dinner, they returned to their respective rooms to rest.
However, Yun Xiu had a bad feeling. She couldn’t calm her mind enough to meditate. After much deliberation, she knocked on his door.
He had been waiting for Ye Mei’s nighttime “visit.” Opening the door, he found Yun Xiu instead, realizing things weren’t going according to plan.
“What’s wrong?”
“I… wanted to talk to you.”
Was she here to warn him about Ye Mei’s seduction? Or was she planning to protect him from her clutches?
He couldn’t let her stay too long. Otherwise, Ye Mei wouldn’t dare approach, and the key plot point wouldn’t be triggered.
“Come in.”
“Thank you.”
She entered the room, and he immediately locked the door.
She was startled, her face flushing as she imagined… certain scenarios.
“W-why did you lock the door?”
He blinked, his expression innocent.
“We’re going to talk, right? I closed the door to prevent eavesdropping.”
Seeing no signs of him turning into a “wolf,” she relaxed slightly.
“It’s just a casual chat. There’s no need to be so cautious.”
He took her hand, leading her further into the room.
“The chairs aren’t very clean. Let’s sit on the bed.”
She glanced at the spotless chairs, her wariness returning. She pulled her hand back gently.
“A little dust is easily wiped away. There’s no need to sit on the bed.”
“The bed is softer. The chairs are hard.”
“I-I’m not sitting on the bed.”
“Fine.”
She refused to take the bait, so he changed his tactics. He sat down at the table, then suddenly pulled her towards him.
“Ah!”
Caught off guard, she fell onto his lap, his arm quickly wrapping around her waist, preventing her from getting up.
“If you don’t want to sit on the bed, you can sit on my lap. The chair is dirty and hard. I’ll sit here.”

She bit her lip, compromising.
“…Not here. We’ll… talk about it after we move to another inn tomorrow. Okay?”
He readily agreed. He had only wanted to scare her away.
“Fine. I’ll listen to you this time. But next time, you have to listen to me.”
She sighed with relief. Seeing his disappointed expression, her gaze softened. She patted his head.
“Good boy~”
“Don’t do that.”
He pushed her hand away, making her chuckle. She was about to tease him further when they heard a knock on the door.
“Young Master Yan Zhen, are you asleep? I have something to discuss with you.”
— It’s Ye Mei! She’s here!
Yun Xiu quickly covered her mouth, not daring to breathe, afraid of being detected.
It was late at night, his door was locked, and she was in his room, sitting on his lap. This wasn’t a normal sibling relationship.
She waved at him, signaling him not to open the door.
