The Vampire Eldest Miss Thinks I Like Her 9

Chapter 9: Surnames

Who could resist a spectacular over-the-shoulder throw? Jasmine certainly couldn’t. However, in the past, when hunting other races, she always aimed for the kill and dealt with them decisively. Moreover, other races often carried unpleasant odors, and since most of them were male, Jasmine didn’t want to touch them, so she would choose to eliminate them directly.

But she still wanted to stay in the school, whether it was to gather information or earn money as Adele’s maid. It was a good job. If she were forced to skip work and get fired, where would she find such a good job? So she definitely couldn’t kill the low-level vampire, and the over-the-shoulder throw was the best solution.

This over-the-shoulder throw was a perfect 100!

Jasmine gave herself a score in her mind. She almost couldn’t suppress the smile on her lips, but she managed to hold it back, remembering her ice-cold beauty persona. Her calm and composed demeanor contrasted sharply with the loud thud of the low-level vampire hitting the ground, silencing all the vampires present. The one who had been thrown to the ground was still in a daze.

After a while, the low-level vampire on the ground finally cried out, “You! You lowly human!”

Jasmine didn’t like hearing such words, so she tightened her grip on the low-level vampire’s wrist. She wasn’t using much force; if she had used a little more, she would have broken the delicate wrist. Even so, the low-level vampire still cried out in pain.

“Miss, would you please release my companion?”

In the next moment, a slender figure appeared beside Jasmine. The vampire maid who had been sitting on the sofa approached Jasmine, her hand resting on the back of Jasmine’s hand. Although she didn’t apply any pressure, her tone was full of menace.

Jasmine considered what she should do. Should she swallow her pride and give this non-low-level vampire face, or should she teach them a lesson so they wouldn’t dare provoke her again?

While she was still pondering, Anna, the girl with freckles, suddenly rushed out from the corner of the stairs. She went straight to Jasmine and looked at the maid with a flattering smile, “Miss White! I’m so sorry, Jasmine is new here and doesn’t know the rules. Please be lenient and forgive her!”

This vampire was from the White family? Jasmine memorized the maid’s surname. The surname White was well-known among vampires. If the Blake family was at the bottom of the Thirteen Clans, then the White family was at the top. This maid was given the surname White, which showed how much her master favored her.

As for Jasmine, she had no surname. Vampires wouldn’t give humans their surnames. As a product born in a vampire human breeding facility, Jasmine didn’t deserve a surname. Moreover, she didn’t like these Western surnames. Compared to these strange and complicated surnames, the two simple words “Jasmine” were much better.

Speaking of which, Jasmine couldn’t help but complain. The surnames of the Thirteen Clans were really strange. Just read them out loud: Blake was black, White(Bai) was white… It wouldn’t be surprising if there were Brown, Green, and Yellow in the future.

Honestly, Jasmine didn’t expect Anna to come out and speak up for her. Everyone in the room knew there was a human hiding in the corner, but the vampires didn’t pay attention to Anna, and Jasmine didn’t think there was anything wrong with her hiding to protect herself.

Now that she had come out, it surprised Jasmine.

“Miss Anna, since you’ve said so, please manage the human maids well in the future and prevent them from doing such disrespectful things.” To Jasmine’s surprise, the White maid actually gave Anna face and chose to let her go. Instead, she looked at the vampire on the ground, “How long are you going to lie there? Aren’t you ashamed?!” After saying this, she left first, followed by the other vampires.

The one on the ground had lost face, but she quickly got up and hurried to catch up with the group.

After all the vampires had left, Anna breathed a sigh of relief. She took Jasmine to the end of the corridor on the second floor, where it was quiet and no one would come. She first let out a sigh of relief, then said, “Jasmine, you scared me just now. You must not conflict with them. They are vampires, we can’t beat them…” She paused for a moment before continuing, “Jasmine, you are so amazing, how did you do it?”

Her eyes sparkled with admiration as she asked this question. Jasmine didn’t hide anything and told her directly, “Actually, the maids are just low-level vampires, and they’ve just come of age. They aren’t very strong. As long as a healthy human doesn’t try to kill them, they can still protect themselves or fight back. If you know their weaknesses, you can even easily subdue them.”

Human maids were actually quite strong. Whether at their masters’ homes or at school, they had to do a lot of work every day. In such circumstances, their physical strength and power were actually superior to those of the pampered vampire maids.

However, years of oppression had made them accustomed to fearing and submitting to vampires.

“So that’s how it is…” Anna nodded, indicating that she understood. Then she changed the subject, “Are you injured? If you are, you can go to the school doctor. Although he is a vampire, he treats us human maids equally and takes good care of us. Those vampire claws are poisonous. If you are scratched, you must seek medical attention immediately.”

“No problem, I’m not injured.”

“Okay, if you are injured, you must tell me!”

Their conversation ended there. Jasmine returned to her room and sat down on a chair. She thought to herself: Indeed, no one should be underestimated. Anna, the girl with freckles, was definitely suspicious.

As a human, she could actually speak up in front of vampires. The White maid was clearly planning to deal with her, but she backed down as soon as Anna appeared. Moreover, although Anna seemed to care about her afterwards, her words and actions were actually quite strange. Usually, after Jasmine said that she could deal with vampires, most humans would either say, “Don’t talk nonsense,” or “Please tell me how to deal with them!”

However, Anna’s mind clearly wasn’t on what Jasmine had said, but on getting her own words out quickly. Jasmine was certain that Anna and the school doctor… definitely had something going on.

When Anna said, “He treats us human maids equally,” Jasmine almost laughed out loud. Apart from Adele, she didn’t believe there were such vampires in the world. Vampires like Adele were too rare. Since coming to this world, Jasmine had only seen one. She was pure, a vampire who had never tasted human blood and had never harmed a human.

The reasons why Adele could maintain this state were complex. Because she was a noble lady of the Thirteen Clans and the first child of her parents, they indulged her little whims and allowed her to not drink human blood. Because Jasmine was always by Adele’s side, she subtly influenced her, preventing her from seeing humans as inferior beings. Because Adele herself disliked the taste of blood… Ultimately, she was still a naive and innocent child, and the adults allowed her to have her way.

Adele was a vampire who grew up under a combination of coincidences. Jasmine didn’t believe that other vampires could be the same.

There was definitely something fishy about the school doctor, but Jasmine had too much to do and didn’t have the time or energy to deal with them.

The top priority was to go to the dining hall and get something to eat. After Adele finished school, she still had to go to Adele’s room and take care of her. Although their young mistress, Adele, didn’t need Jasmine’s help with washing up or dressing, she couldn’t dry her hair herself and only liked Jasmine to do it for her.

After finishing her meal, Jasmine went to Adele’s room. Sitting on the sofa in the living room, she marveled at the difference between the student dormitory and their servants’ quarters. Adele’s sofa was exceptionally soft, and once Jasmine sat down, she didn’t want to get up. After lounging on the sofa for a while, Jasmine thought that being a maid at school wasn’t bad. Apart from having to deal with people even more annoying than the head maid, and the potential trouble with Anna and the school doctor, it was much better than being in the castle.

At least there was less work, she had time to rest, and she could lie on the sofa and daydream like this. Jasmine almost dozed off while relaxing. After waking up, she checked her pocket watch to confirm the time, stretched, and started boiling water to make tea for Adele.

Adele liked coffee and black tea, and she couldn’t stop until she had added seven or eight sugar cubes made of artificial blood to her tea. Jasmine’s timing was perfect. Just as she finished brewing the black tea, the door to Adele’s suite opened, and Adele returned to the room.

Seeing Jasmine, Adele was clearly stunned for a moment, and then she wanted to smile, but remembering that she was the master, she forcibly held it back. However, she couldn’t completely suppress it, and the corners of her lips still curled upwards, unable to hide her happy expression.

Jasmine carried the cup of black tea to the coffee table. “Miss, you’re back.”

“Hmm.” Adele nodded haughtily and handed her briefcase to Jasmine, who then placed it on the sideboard. After sitting down, Adele patted the sofa beside her, motioning for Jasmine to sit next to her. Jasmine didn’t hesitate and sat down beside Adele.

Just like when she was a child, Adele started talking about what had happened today.

“Golden is so arrogant. She dared to say that she would surpass me in the next exam, even though she’s only second place!” The more Adele spoke, the more her true nature was revealed. When she mentioned the other young lady from the Thirteen Clans, she became very agitated. Jasmine, however, thought to herself: Oh, as expected, it was another family with a color as their surname. Golden, wasn’t that gold?

Thinking about the other party’s dazzling golden hair that resembled gold… It was quite fitting.
