Chapter 4: Be My Kitten
Angel’s father had a poor reputation in high society, known as a stubborn and harsh man.
He projected his unfulfilled youthful ambitions onto his daughter, attempting to use endless psychological manipulation to gain bragging rights among his drinking buddies.
Especially after learning about his daughter’s involvement in idol activities, he publicly disowned her.
Therefore, Angel rarely went home, usually residing in the academy dormitory or the monastery.
As for her father, Angel always avoided mentioning him. She was terrified of the rigid man who constantly found fault with her.
“Why are you crying?” Lena frowned in disgust. “Shut up.”
Angel couldn’t stop crying, tears streaming down her pure and lovely cheeks like an endless flow. “Waaah…hic!…Waaah, hic!”
She even started hiccuping. Was she really just a little kid who hadn’t grown up yet?!
Lena clicked her tongue. “Annoying.”
Angel quieted down, her wails turning into soft sobs.
She clutched the white dragon cub anxiously, as pitiful as the little fox girl hugging her fluffy tail when they first met.
She could be so endearing, yet she insisted on putting up that arrogant facade.
The young Saintess was quite interesting…
“Look at you, crying for no reason. I was just joking with you. I didn’t say I wouldn’t treat it.”
Lena lifted both the girl and the dragon, effortlessly, as if they weighed nothing. Beneath the large nun’s habit, the girl’s frame was truly small and thin, malnourished as if she had never eaten a full meal.
“I’m going to be r*ped by my senior…” Angel whimpered pathetically.
Lena’s eyelid twitched. “Slander me again and I’ll slaughter you and this stinking dragon on the spot, stitching you together into an abomination.”
“And then be threatened with r*pe and murder by my senior, waaaah…”
Angel’s eyes were red-rimmed, and Little White poked its head out to lick the tears from the corners of her eyes, a truly pitiful scene of shared misfortune.
“Who’s your senior? I don’t have such a cowardly junior. Don’t associate yourself with me.” Lena put Angel down, offering her own chair.
“I can save the dragon, but on one condition.”
She raised a finger, placing it on Angel’s pink lips.
“I’ll agree to any condition, just please save Little White. It’s the last birthday present my mother gave me. I really, truly can’t lose it.”
Angel was desperate to hold onto the memory, willing to do anything.
“Alright.” Seeing the smooth progress, Lena readily agreed, a wicked smile spreading across her lips. “The condition is…”
“Be my dog. The duration… until I get tired of you.”
…
“I won’t interfere with your life outside, but once you enter this house, my territory, or when we’re alone, everything about you, both body and mind, must submit to me. From now on, Angel Cavendish is Lena Falmouth’s pet dog.”
Lena calmly recited the contents of the contract, pressing her handprint onto it, then turning the contract to face Angel.
Contracts were binding laws in this world. Once established, they couldn’t be broken. Therefore, one had to carefully review the terms before signing.
“Um…” Angel raised her hand timidly.
Lena raised an eyebrow in displeasure. “Do you have something to bargain for?”
“Could I be a kitten? I don’t like dogs…” Angel had been chased by a dog as a child and had developed a phobia.
“…”
That worked too. The girl was quite agreeable.
Lena actually preferred cats as well. However, the relationship between a dog and its owner was more of a master-servant dynamic, whereas with a cat and its owner, in a sense, it was the owner who served the cat…
Lena agreed to Angel’s request and began treating Little White’s injuries.
Due to the delay, Little White’s condition wasn’t optimistic. It was a miracle it had survived this long.
“Is it really that tricky?” Angel asked worriedly, having pressed her handprint and now standing quietly beside Lena, her gaze fixed on the dragon. “Little White started becoming weaker a week ago, refusing even its favorite red dragon fruit. At first, I thought it was the heat and loss of appetite, but then I discovered the rotting wound under its wing and realized the severity of the problem.”
“After discovering the problem, I searched high and low throughout the empire, but there are so few people who understand necromancy. Besides the elusive Professor Witch, there’s only you.”
“You must save it, we agreed…”
Angel bit her lip, pleading pitifully.
Lena didn’t look up, ignoring the little nun’s rambling. “Be quiet. I’ve never seen this kind of necromantic spell before. I need some time to analyze it.”
“You can’t lie to me…”
“Heh, little nun, what if I do lie to you? You signed the contract, you’re already my kitten. Even if I don’t save your dragon, you’re still mine.” Lena raised her hand to construct a necromantic spell, not forgetting to mock Angel’s foolishness.
The little nun bit her lip in frustration, but there was nothing she could do.
That damned gray-haired woman!
With such long hair, it looked like she was wearing a large robe, so ugly!
Angel could only curse inwardly…
“Phew~” Lena let out a long sigh.
“Did it work?” Angel leaned closer. Little White’s complexion had visibly improved, but residual necromantic energy lingered.
“So worried about your pet, why not worry about your master first, kitten?”
Lena’s face was pale, having expended a considerable amount of magic power, but she had finally succeeded in analyzing the spell.
However, this little nun had forgotten the contents of the contract right after signing it, showing no regard for her master.
“Alright, alright, you’re very skilled too.”
“Hmm?” Lena smiled ominously. “What should you call me?”
Angel panicked and immediately corrected herself: “Mas…Master! My master is the best, best, best! ❤suki❤~”
She sweetly made a heart shape over her chest, her pure smile radiating youthful vibrancy, as if capable of melting any cold, male heart.
Angel dealt with Lena as she would with an enthusiastic fan.
Fortunately, her acting was good, and she didn’t reveal any flaws.
“Hmph.”
Lena symbolically ruffled Angel’s hair, her calm gray eyes staring into the girl’s dazzling pink eyes for a long moment. “Don’t call me the wrong thing again.”
Her patience was limited.
A disobedient kitten would be abandoned by its owner.
“Thank you…Master.”
Angel covered her head where Lena had touched it with both hands, lost in thought.
It felt like it was on fire, tingling and itchy, her cheeks flushed, and the base of her ears burning hot. She didn’t know why.
There were many unsolved mysteries in the world.
Just like Angel couldn’t understand why Lena wanted a kitten like her.
Because of loneliness?
Because of desire?
Because as a fan, she wanted to possess everything about her idol?
No, no, no!
That was absolutely impossible!
There was no way Lena could be her fan, and this kind of offline stalking of an idol was clearly wrong!
Then why…?
Lena witnessed Angel’s fleeting confusion, her eyes narrowing slightly as she tossed a bag towards her. “Try this on.”
“What is this?”
