Chapter 106: Mu Zhi’an is Over There, Get Him!

As Mu Zhi’an stepped through the glowing doorway, he found himself on a sandy beach, the vast expanse of the ocean stretching before him. And standing on the water, her feet bare, was a woman with a captivating figure, her skin pale and flawless. Her silver hair cascaded down her back, reaching her shapely hips, her curves accentuated by her lack of clothing.

    This aura… it’s definitely her… Ling Long!

He exchanged a glance with the two women, then stepped forward, bowing respectfully. “Greetings, Senior Ling Long.”

    Silence.

He was about to speak again when she turned to look at them, her crimson eyes filled with confusion.

What are you confused about? Didn’t you call us here? And… she’s well-endowed… Even more so than Ruoxi… He forced himself to look away, bowing again. “Senior Ling Long, were you summoning me earlier?”

She tilted her head, blinking, studying him for a moment, then her expression softened, and she nodded slightly. “Aaaa~”

    She can’t speak…?

He realized this and asked tentatively, “Did you need something from me…?”

She didn’t answer, simply staring at him, then her gaze shifted to Ye Lingxuan and Wei Mengrou. She pointed at her feet, as if gesturing.

What? Her feet are pretty, but I’m not into that. He looked down at her pale, delicate feet, chuckling inwardly.

“She wants us to come closer…?” Ye Lingxuan asked.

    Ling Long nodded.

He had come this far. He couldn’t back down now. He joined the two women, standing before the silver-haired woman, her gaze gentle and captivating.

Is there something wrong with me? She’s beautiful. He coughed, trying to compose himself. “What do you want us to do, Senior Ling Long?”

She looked at them, her lips parting slightly, then she spoke, her voice soft and clear.

    “Follow me.”

It wasn’t a song this time. It was human speech.

And in that instant, the scenery shifted, the beach transforming into a tranquil garden, filled with the fragrance of herbs.

Her words… they shape reality… He stared at her, his eyes widening with surprise and awe.

She wasn’t unable to speak. Her words simply became reality. He had read about such abilities in ancient texts, but they were exceedingly rare.

There was a special physique, a constitution that granted its possessor the power to shape reality with their words. It sounded wonderful, but it also meant that every word carried karmic consequences.

For example, if Ling Long said, “Mu Zhi’an will reach Core Formation,” it would create a significant karmic debt, affecting both her and him.

That’s why she keeps saying “Aaa.” I thought she couldn’t speak, but it’s because she can’t. He understood.

He looked around, the garden peaceful and serene. They were standing before an elegant pavilion, a tea set arranged on the table. He noticed that two of the cups seemed to have been used.

Did someone visit her before us…? He wondered.

But he didn’t ask, simply bowing respectfully. “How may I address you, Senior?”

Words formed in the tea, spelling out a name: Lin Ling.

She poured them each a cup of tea.

Ye Lingxuan thanked her politely, but her attention was elsewhere. She could sense something calling to her from within the realm. But with Ling Long present, she couldn’t give in to her curiosity. Even if there was some inheritance that resonated with her, she couldn’t lose her composure in front of the dragon.

As she thought this, she felt a warm hand grasp hers beneath the table.

She froze, looking up at Mu Zhi’an. He was smiling at her, his eyes conveying a message: Don’t worry. I’ll handle it. She understood, her heart easing.

He looked away, bowing to the silver-haired woman, his voice respectful. “Senior Lin Ling, did you summon me for something? If there’s anything I can do, I’ll gladly assist you.”

Even if there was an inheritance that resonated with Ye Lingxuan, he couldn’t rush things. He had to understand the dragon’s intentions first.

“No need to rush,” words formed in the tea.

Before he could speak, she looked towards something outside the pavilion.

He followed her gaze and realized that the pavilion was floating in the air, an ancient palace visible in the distance. And through the palace windows, he saw several familiar figures.

The Third Prince, and three of his old friends from Tianxuan City.

She wants me to wait until the trial is over…? He understood, squeezing Ye Lingxuan’s hand reassuringly. It was fine. He wasn’t in a hurry. He would simply enjoy the show.

Ling Long’s Celestial Realm had been opened to the disciples a few times in the past, and each time, two or three had benefited, receiving immense destiny. No one knew why it had summoned them this time. But regardless of its reasons, no one would pass up this opportunity.

Ye Yu, following the others, entered a spacious hall. Two mechanical puppets, shaped like dragons, stood guard on either side, their eyes mismatched, their forms crude as if their creator had been careless. But their strength was undeniable. The disciples attacked them relentlessly, but they couldn’t break through their defenses.

“Young Master Ye, shouldn’t we help them…?” a soft, melodious voice asked beside him.

He glanced at the woman, her beauty captivating, her expression gentle. He had suffered so many defeats at Mu Zhi’an’s hands that he had almost forgotten he was still considered a talented disciple. It was only natural that some women would be drawn to him.

“There’s no rush. Let them test the waters first. We’ll act later,” he replied, his gaze lingering on her face, a gentle smile playing on his lips.

Wasting their spiritual energy on these puppets now, it would be foolish. How could they compete for Ling Long’s inheritance if they were exhausted?

He scanned the crowd, searching for Mu Zhi’an, then he felt a sharp gaze upon him. He looked up and saw a young man in luxurious robes. It was Ning Long, the Third Prince. He hadn’t passed Boundless Sea Peak’s trial, but he had a guaranteed spot. He had abandoned the trial and entered the sect through other means. He could enter Ling Long’s realm because he possessed the Great Qian Dynasty’s imperial aura.

They exchanged a glance, then looked away. Senior Sister Lan had warned them not to fight, or they might incur Ling Long’s displeasure. They had their differences, but compared to Ling Long’s inheritance, they were insignificant. Besides, their conflict stemmed from the Ye sisters. And now, both Ye Qian and Ye Lingxuan were under Mu Zhi’an’s control. In other words, they had a common enemy. And the enemy of one’s enemy was a friend. Even if they couldn’t be friends, they didn’t need to fight, risking mutual destruction.

Ye Yu scanned the crowd, searching for Mu Zhi’an. He had seen him earlier, but now, he was gone. Had he given up? Impossible. With his personality, he wouldn’t abandon Ling Long’s trial so easily, especially with Lingxuan by his side. But if that was the case, where was he?

He narrowed his eyes, his thoughts racing.

“They’re outside the palace,” the old man’s voice whispered in his mind.

He turned to look, and through a window, he saw a pavilion. And sitting there, sipping tea, chatting and laughing with Ye Lingxuan, was Mu Zhi’an, another woman with silver hair sitting beside them.

“…?” He stared at them, his mind reeling.

“Why are they out there?! We’re not allowed to leave until we pass the trial!” he screamed inwardly, his gaze fixed on Mu Zhi’an, watching as he made Ye Lingxuan laugh with his words.

His smile vanished, replaced by a mixture of confusion and rage. They were all here, struggling with the trial, and he was outside, relaxing and flirting with a beautiful woman?!

The Third Prince also noticed, his gaze sharpening as he glared at Mu Zhi’an. He had always been privileged, allowed to skip the line. He couldn’t tolerate this cheating.

He looked up, his voice filled with anger. “Senior Ling Long, is this fair?!”

His gaze was fixed on the pavilion, on Mu Zhi’an, who was sipping his tea leisurely. They were all here, facing the trial, and he had already passed…? How could they accept this?!

The other disciples, noticing the commotion, also looked towards the pavilion, their eyes filled with resentment. They were struggling here, while he was outside, relaxing and flirting… It was infuriating.

Lin Ling, watching from the pavilion, noticed the Third Prince’s anger, then Mu Zhi’an’s expression, it darkened slightly. She set down her teacup.

The two puppets froze. Time seemed to stop. She spoke, her voice soft but firm.

And in an instant, the Third Prince vanished from the hall.

The disciples gasped, their hearts pounding. He had been eliminated. Their anger evaporated, replaced by a chilling fear.

Had they lost their minds? Questioning Ling Long’s decision? It was suicidal. Perhaps Mu Zhi’an had discovered a shortcut. After all, this was Ling Long. Even the sect elders and peak lords addressed her with respect.

Such a being wouldn’t favor a mere disciple.

The two puppets reactivated. But one of them, ignoring the others, charged towards Ye Yu, forcing him to defend himself.

He glared towards the window, his eyes filled with resentment and disbelief. If he had any pride, he would leave now.

But Ling Long’s inheritance, no one would willingly abandon it. Not even him.

Mu Zhi’an watched the chaos unfold, a hint of concern in his eyes. He looked at Lin Ling, his voice soft. “Senior Lin Ling, is this wise…?”

    “It’s fine.”

She shook her head, words forming on the table. “I make the rules here.”

He still seemed concerned, his gaze downcast as he sipped his tea.

The disciples had entered this realm seeking destiny. But they hadn’t realized that the true treasure, it wasn’t destiny. He cared about destiny, but not excessively. After all, the true treasure, it was something else.

He set down his teacup. It was time to test her.

  • It turns out, they are the protagonists 105

Chapter 105: I’m Willing to Be Your Ox or Horse!

As they stepped through the gate, they didn’t find a cave, but a spacious clearing. Nearly forty disciples were gathered there, whispering among themselves.

Mu Zhi’an held Ye Lingxuan’s hand, discreetly joining the back of the crowd, his gaze sweeping over them.

“It seems all nine peaks have Ling Long’s Celestial Realm beneath them, and they’re all connected,” Wei Mengrou whispered, her voice a mental message.

He nodded, his gaze lingering on an ancient bronze gate at the far end of the clearing. This must be the true entrance to Ling Long’s realm…

But he hadn’t expected so many disciples to be here.

It’s clever. It knows I don’t want to be the center of attention, so it used this method to attract others. He was impressed by the dragon’s intelligence.

If he was the only one who received Ling Long’s favor, he would become a target. But with so many others present, he wouldn’t stand out.

Ling Long had seemingly invited dozens of disciples, but its true intentions were elsewhere.

    “Master Yan has arrived!”

A disciple’s voice rang out, and the crowd turned to look. Yan Ruyu, the master of the library, approached gracefully, her beautiful robe swirling around her, her smile captivating. The disciples, despite her beauty, bowed respectfully, not daring to show any disrespect.

Beside her walked another woman, her face veiled, her aura cold and distant.

Master Yan is quite beautiful… Mu Zhi’an bowed as well, discreetly observing her. He had never met a woman like her before. Perhaps because of her years of study, she possessed an intelligence and sophistication that set her apart, her alluring figure accentuated by her robe, her aura both mature and alluring.

But he was a devoted man. His gaze lingered on her for a few seconds, then returned to Senior Sister Lan.

She truly is something special. Strong, intelligent, aloof, and well-endowed. He looked at her, his gaze filled with respect. She had always seemed unfathomable. It wasn’t just her strength, but also her personality, her background… everything about her was a mystery.

He glanced at her ample bosom, straining against her robe, and he sighed inwardly. She truly is unfathomable in every way.

She seemed to sense his gaze, her brow furrowing slightly as she looked at him. Her gaze lingered on him for a moment, then she looked away, her expression unchanged.

“Ling Long rarely opens its Celestial Realm. It must be in a good mood. Remember, no fighting within the realm. If you encounter an opportunity, embrace it. If not, don’t force it.”

“If you disturb Ling Long’s cultivation, you will be expelled.”

Her voice, clear and cold, echoed through the clearing, and the disciples bowed, their eyes filled with anticipation.

“Is there anything else we should be aware of, Senior Sister?” Mu Zhi’an asked.

She glanced at him, her voice a cold whisper. “Leave it to fate.”

She might be angry with me, but she wouldn’t be petty about something this important. So within Ling Long’s realm, whether we find an opportunity or not, it’s all up to fate. He understood.

    “Strange… Why can’t I enter?”

A disciple’s voice, laced with confusion, rang out from the crowd. He watched as others entered the realm, but he remained outside, his eyes filled with frustration.

“You need at least a Prosperous Destiny to enter Ling Long’s Celestial Realm,” Yan Ruyu said, her voice gentle, a smile playing on her lips. “Those with ordinary destiny, even if they enter, they won’t find anything.”

The disciples who couldn’t enter sighed, their faces filled with disappointment.

A Prosperous Destiny, it meant a red destiny. To enter the realm, one needed either a Prosperous Destiny, an Emperor’s Aura, or great destiny.

Destiny and talent were different concepts. Some were talented, but their destiny was lacking. And some possessed both great talent and great destiny. They were known as Chosen Ones.

Ling Long’s realm had already filtered out a large number of candidates.

“I’m going in, Senior Sister. I’ll visit you tomorrow,” Mu Zhi’an whispered to Lan Mulian.

She looked at him, her voice calm and distant. “I’m available for the next two days, but I’ll be meditating after that. Please don’t disturb me.”

Her coldness would have discouraged most, but Mu Zhi’an was persistent. “I wanted to visit you, but Two Polarities Peak is protected by formations.”

“Mental messages can pass through the formations,” she replied coldly, watching as the disciples entered the realm. Their faces were filled with hope, dreaming of opportunities. They didn’t realize that the aloof and unattainable Senior Sister Lan was chatting with a young cultivator.

She’s blaming me for being dismissive. She’s saying there are other ways to reach her. She’s waiting for an explanation. He understood, his voice filled with a carefully crafted remorse. “I wrote three paper cranes after that day, Senior Sister, but I didn’t have the courage to send them.”

    She ignored him.

“Could you postpone your meditation until the day after tomorrow, Senior Sister?” he asked, but she still didn’t respond.

She’s not rejecting my messages. There’s still a chance. He pondered for a moment, then said, “Ling Long’s song, it was calling to me.”

She looked at him, her expression unchanged, her voice a cold whisper. “Ling Long chose you…?”

She’s interested. “It’s a long story. If you’re free tomorrow, Senior Sister, I could explain everything over tea.”

She hesitated, then sighed. “You’re a clever boy, Mu Zhi’an, but you waste your talents on frivolous pursuits.”

I understand, I understand. Liking other women is frivolous. Only pursuing a cold and elegant woman like you is the right path. “I’ll try to reform myself,” he said sincerely. He would join her righteous path soon.

“Send me a paper crane before you come tomorrow. I’ll bring you to the back mountain,” she said, her voice softening slightly, losing its previous coldness.

“And even though Ling Long called to you, don’t try anything. It’s sensitive to malicious intent.” she added, clearly aware of his tendencies.

“You’re so kind, Senior Sister,” he said, his voice filled with gratitude. “If you ever need anything, I’ll be your loyal servant.”

He had said similar things before, but repeating them wouldn’t hurt. Especially with someone like Lan Mulian, with her intelligence and emotional awareness. She would surely sense his sincerity.

She smiled, her beauty radiant, even the sunlight seeming to dim in comparison.

“Go. Master Yan and I will wait here for an hour before leaving.”

He bowed respectfully, then, with Ye Lingxuan and Wei Mengrou, entered the realm.

Lan Mulian narrowed her eyes, staring at Wei Mengrou’s retreating figure, a flicker of confusion in her gaze.

    Why can she enter…?

Yan Ruyu turned to her, smiling. “Were you just chatting with that young cultivator? You seem quite fond of him.”

Lan Mulian regained her composure, smiling faintly. “He displayed some impressive talents in Tianxuan City. I’m simply observing him.”

Yan Ruyu studied her alluring figure, her voice soft and amused. “I see.”

Her tone was casual, but her gaze, as she looked towards Mu Zhi’an, was knowing. She wouldn’t be so interested in someone simply because of their talent. After all, talented individuals were common.

Everyone who had entered Ling Long’s realm possessed great destiny. And Ye Lingxuan, Ye Yu, and Bai Ruoxi, their talent and destiny were at least equal to his, if not greater. Why was she so focused on him?

    He was definitely hiding something.

    But what was his destiny…?

If Ling Long hadn’t been interested in Bai Ruoxi, but in him…

What kind of destiny could attract a dragon’s attention?

She narrowed her eyes, her thoughts racing.

The bronze gate closed behind them as they entered the realm. Mu Zhi’an took Ye Lingxuan’s hand, his voice filled with concern. “Be careful. Ling Long might not be hostile, but there could be other dangers. It’s safer to stay together.”

She glanced at him, but she didn’t tell him to let go. He was right.

“Mengrou,” he said, offering his hand to Wei Mengrou.

She rolled her eyes, her voice cold. “No, thank you. Holding hands will hinder my movements. If something happens, I might not be able to save you.”

He smiled, his voice filled with mock gratitude. “You’re so kind, Mengrou.”

“In the past, you would have called me a burden.”

She nodded. “You are a burden.”

“I can’t help it. I wasted a lot of time. I’m trying to catch up. Besides, with you here, I feel safe…” he chuckled.

Ye Lingxuan looked at him, surprised. “You have quite the positive attitude…”

She remembered how Ye Yu, back in the Ye family, had lost his temper when someone teased him about his low cultivation. But Mu Zhi’an, even when being insulted, he remained calm, even mocking himself. His attitude was admirable.

“She’s telling the truth,” he said, smiling. “There’s no need to rush cultivation.”

“No need to rush, you say? But you seem quite eager every night…” Wei Mengrou said, her voice laced with amusement, glancing at him.

Working hard every night for Bai Ruoxi’s cultivation.

He ignored her, clearing his throat, quickly changing the subject. “It’s strange. According to Master Yan, you shouldn’t be able to enter Ling Long’s realm, Mengrou.”

He looked around, his hand still holding Ye Lingxuan’s. “And we only entered a few moments after the others, but there’s no one here.”

Wei Mengrou also looked around, her brow furrowing. “It is strange. I can’t sense any spiritual auras.”

They had entered less than fifteen minutes after the others, yet there was no sign of them.

“Perhaps this realm has multiple starting points. We might have been separated.” Ye Lingxuan said.

She had read about such realms in ancient texts. Some cultivators would connect their Celestial Realms, creating different paths leading to different destinations. Only by passing certain tests could one gain the realm master’s approval.

    “Aaaa~”

The mournful song echoed through the air. He didn’t understand the words, but he seemed to comprehend its meaning. He looked up and saw a door, glowing faintly, the song emanating from within.

Ling Long was definitely in there! It seemed they had bypassed the tests and reached the final destination.

He stared at the door, his heart filled with curiosity.

Let’s see if Ling Long is a beautiful woman.

  • Dear, it’s time for your medicine! 40

    Chapter 40: The Potion’s Effects

The spacious training ground was empty except for Qin Chu. He knew he wouldn’t be disturbed for the rest of the afternoon. Still, he left behind an illusion of himself diligently meditating, diligently cultivating his Battle Qi.

With a snap of his fingers, his figure vanished.

    Invisibility.

No need for the Phantom Demons’ crude shapeshifting. This was one of the dozens of spells Candice had taught him.

He had deliberately revealed Angelica’s whereabouts, her vulnerability, to Loseweisse, anticipating her actions.

    This was Angelica’s final test.

If she passed, she would be freed from her magical shackles and earn his complete trust.

    If she failed…

Despite possessing knowledge from his previous life, Qin Chu remained cautious. He carefully considered each person’s personality, their motivations, using his experience to anticipate their actions.

Loseweisse was a clever woman. Though she yearned to kill Angelica, she would restrain herself. She would manipulate Angelica, using her as a tool to indirectly control him, the Hero.

He knew how much she hated him, how much she loathed Angelica.

But resurrecting Jie Luo was her ultimate goal, a goal that overshadowed even her personal vendettas.

The Hero Squad’s plan was simple.

Based on his experience from his previous life, they would befriend him, make him fall in love with one of them, treat him like a cherished comrade, and then, once he had eliminated the Demon threat, they would strike him down.

They hadn’t killed him immediately because his talent surpassed Jie Luo’s. They needed a tool, someone capable of defeating the Demons. Otherwise, even if they resurrected Jie Luo, he would face Nagath and likely meet the same fate.

But now, his bond with Angelica was even stronger.

While killing Angelica would be the easiest solution, he had revealed her whereabouts to Loseweisse. Given their animosity, if Angelica died, Loseweisse would be the prime suspect.

Even if she could clear her name, the seed of doubt would be planted, making it nearly impossible for her to gain his trust, to manipulate him.

Therefore, Qin Chu concluded that Loseweisse would use mental magic, transforming Angelica into a puppet, controlling her to indirectly influence him.

Very few people knew about Loseweisse’s mental magic abilities.

    He was one of them.

At the Roblensa Market, Angelica hummed a cheerful tune as she strolled through the stalls, her basket overflowing with fresh produce.

Her master was now the most important person in her life, even more precious than her own life.

She wanted to serve him with all her heart, to please him in every way. He had expressed a desire to sample her cooking, so she had to do her best.

The Roblensa Market, despite its high prices, offered the finest ingredients. The tomatoes, plump and juicy, resembled glistening rubies. The steaks, marbled with fat, were a vibrant red. The vegetables, freshly picked, were a vibrant green.

“This should be enough,” she murmured, her basket overflowing.

She had been serving her master for three days now. These days had been a paradise compared to her previous life. No more beatings from Loseweisse, no more physical or emotional abuse. Her body and soul were healing.

She had almost forgotten the task the Pope had assigned her.

    The Holy Maiden!

It was the first time in days that she had thought of those words.

It had been her dream for over a decade. The thought of abandoning it filled her with a strange sense of loss.

Her smile faded, her steps becoming heavier. She didn’t notice the dark figure approaching silently behind her.

As she turned a corner, a sharp blow struck her back. Darkness swallowed her.

When Angelica regained consciousness, she found herself lying on the ground, surrounded by trees. The setting sun cast long shadows, its light stinging her eyes.

She struggled against her bonds, but the collar suppressed her magic, rendering her powerless.

“Save your energy,” a mocking voice said.

She looked up, her gaze meeting the eyes of two women dressed in black robes, their attire similar to the Holy See’s nuns’ habits but in a starkly contrasting color.

Their figures, outlined by their form-fitting robes, were athletic and alluring, a blend of strength and grace.

Their faces were beautiful, their features delicate, their eyes sharp and almond-shaped, their gazes tinged with a hint of cruelty. A strange symbol, resembling a large eye, adorned their foreheads.

A tattered sack lay discarded nearby. This was how they had transported her.

“Who are you? What do you want?” Angelica asked, her voice steady despite her fear.

She calmed herself quickly. She had endured hardships before, faced dangers far greater than this. She had been tied to a pyre, almost burned alive.

She scanned her surroundings, searching for an escape route.

But she knew it wouldn’t be easy. These two women, despite their strange attire, possessed considerable power. Her magic was suppressed, rendering her helpless.

“I am the Hero Qin Chu’s personal maid,” she said, hoping to intimidate them. “Have you considered the consequences of kidnapping me?”

The two women laughed, their amusement tinged with disdain.

“You’re relying on that fool to save you?”

“Hah! The Hero just started his training with Ekaterina. Even if he was here, what could he do?”

One of the women stepped closer, her pale finger lifting Angelica’s chin, forcing her to meet her gaze. “Do you truly believe the Hero will come for you?”

Angelica’s heart sank. These women knew more about her master than she did. She hadn’t even known he had begun training with Ekaterina.

    Who were they?

What was their connection to the Holy See?

“What do you want?” she asked again, her voice tight.

“It’s simple,” the woman said, her smile widening. “We need you to do something for us.”

“You’re the Hero’s maid, responsible for his well-being. We need you to add… a little something to his food.” She produced a vial filled with a shimmering pink liquid.

“It’s not bitter. It actually smells quite sweet.”

Angelica’s eyes widened. “What… what is that?”

“It’s not poison. It’s just… something to make the Hero a little more… obedient.”

They wanted to control the Hero. Angelica understood instantly.

She shook her head vehemently. She would never betray her master, the man who had shown her kindness, the man who had offered her a chance at a new life.

“Did you hear that? They called you a fool! Can you endure such an insult?”

Neither the two women nor Angelica noticed the two figures perched on a tree branch above them.

Shaye, sitting on Qin Chu’s shoulder, couldn’t resist taunting him.

Qin Chu’s face darkened. “How dare they! They’re dead…”

He paused, his brow furrowing. “Do you know what that is?” he asked, gesturing towards the vial in the woman’s hand. “Loseweisse… she’s trying to control me with that.”

“You’ve come to the right person,” Shaye said, her voice laced with pride. “Among all the Witches, my skill in potion-making is second to none.”

“That’s an incomplete version of Stunning Love…”

She emphasized the words “incomplete version,” her tone laced with disdain for Loseweisse’s crude craftsmanship.

“If you consume one vial per week for seven consecutive weeks, you’ll fall hopelessly in love with the potion’s creator, Loseweisse. You’ll obey her every command, even if she orders you to kill yourself.”

The potion’s potency shocked Qin Chu. He hadn’t known Loseweisse possessed such a dangerous weapon.

Could this potion be the reason he had fallen for her in his previous life?

“You weren’t affected by Stunning Love in your previous life,” Shaye said, her voice a mixture of amusement and scorn. “I fought you. I would have sensed it. You were just a pathetic simp, groveling at her feet until you had nothing left.”

Perhaps something had happened to disrupt Loseweisse’s plan. But he had still fallen for her. How pathetic he had been.

“What about the complete version of Stunning Love?” he asked, his curiosity piqued.

“Well, Loseweisse’s technique is crude. Her version requires seven weekly doses to take effect. But the complete version…”

“Each dose increases the target’s affection for you. And there’s no time limit. You can use one dose this week and another next year. The end result is the same: overwhelming love and devotion.”

“Interesting,” Qin Chu said, a smile spreading across his lips.

It was similar to his “Arrogant Domination” Ability, but perhaps not as potent.

“Stunning Love’s effect is more like… a gradual forgetting, a replacement, a transfer of affection!”

“Compared to Arrogant Domination and other powerful potions, its effect isn’t as drastic.”

“It works by making the target slowly forget their loved one, transferring their feelings to the potion’s creator. The creator becomes a substitute, a replacement for their true love… Once they consume all seven doses, they’ll be hopelessly devoted to you, their will completely subservient to yours.”

“But its effect can be broken. A powerful emotional shock, like witnessing their true love’s death, can shatter the potion’s influence, restoring their original feelings.”

Shaye’s explanation sparked a wicked idea in Qin Chu’s mind.

A plan, cruel and cunning, began to form.

“Say, Shaye, could you teach me how to brew Stunning Love?”

    His plans were changing.

The appearance of Stunning Love had given him new ideas. It was time to accelerate his plans.

Shaye, as his parasitic companion, could sense his thoughts.

She didn’t object. She was curious to see how much chaos he could unleash upon this world.

    “I could… but…”

    “The ingredients are incredibly rare.”

“Why not just take the potion from that nun?” she suggested.

Qin Chu frowned. “But Loseweisse created it…”

“Don’t underestimate the Dark Witch. I can modify it. It’s not difficult.”

  • Mistaken Era 57

    Chapter 57

Xiaoxiao felt that since the crown prince had acted righteously to rescue them, coldly rejecting his hospitality would be lacking in chivalric spirit.

As the saying goes, “Life is meant for joyous drinking when wine is present.” Moreover, she felt that sharing a cup of wine with the crown prince would surely lead to hearing some interesting stories.

With this thought, she turned to Wei Jie and said, “Since the crown prince has extended such a warm invitation, we might as well have a drink before leaving.”

Wei Jie smiled and picked up the wine jug the crown prince had just set down, giving it a sniff. “The Western Phoenix Wine from Yongcheng? It smells like a thirty-year-old vintage!”

The crown prince let out a hearty laugh, “You have a discerning nose, my friend. This wine was indeed buried for thirty years, finally meeting a true connoisseur worthy of its lingering fragrance.”

The bonds between men can sometimes be kindled faster than the raging fire between lovers.

After Wei Jie casually loosened his collar and took a seat opposite the crown prince, the two exchanged a few cups of wine. Suddenly, they seemed like old friends, pouring for each other without any sense of unfamiliarity.

Crown Prince Xia Chenghong had not indulged in such an unrestrained drinking session in a long time. With an open-hearted laugh, he clinked cups with Wei Jie before beckoning them to help themselves to the dishes and more wine.

The three of them, brought together by chance, were worlds apart in status. In theory, sitting together to drink should have been an awkward affair.

Yet the three of them were somewhat unconventional in nature, allowing these unrelated individuals to sit together, pushing cups and making toasts as if they were close relatives.

The crown prince repeatedly topped up Wei Jie’s cup, who did not stand on ceremony as he drained each one.

The crown prince observed the young man and woman. Although the latter wore heavy makeup, her refined features were still visible. As for the man, the beast-like patterns only added to his wild charm.

If they were assassins, they certainly did not dress the part by forgoing masks and disguises, instead donning such conspicuous attire to infiltrate the manor.

The crown prince smiled and casually asked, “May I inquire as to how my imperial uncle offended you both, prompting your attempt on his life?”

Xiaoxiao sampled a piece of sweet and sour fish, squinting in relish as she said, “It was not an assassination attempt. We merely came to reclaim something he had stolen from us. We are not villainous demons, Your Highness. As for you, you do not seem the type to be wary of others. Yet you did not drink the wine he had drugged?”

Seeing the crown prince raise his brows, Xiaoxiao recounted witnessing the “Seven Day Drunkenness” pill being slipped into his wine.

The crown prince gave a wry smile but did not answer that question. Instead, he said, “If I may ask, are you not Cui Xiaoxiao of the Lingshan Talisman Sect and Wei Jie of the Mount Qilao Alliance?”

Xiaoxiao knew their wanted portraits had been widely circulated, but for the crown prince to still recognize them in their current appearances was impressive!

However, if they admitted their identities, would this crown prince be alarmed and overturn the table?

Thus, Xiaoxiao nodded in candid acknowledgment.

Upon hearing this, the crown prince smiled again but asked probingly, “Then… were the villagers in those villages truly killed by your hands?”

Xiaoxiao had lost her appetite. She set down her chopsticks and honestly said, “If we were truly responsible, we would have fled instead of walking into this trap in Luoyi City. If I told you that those bloody cases were committed by your imperial uncle’s men to frame us, would you believe me, Your Highness?”

The crown prince, Xia Chenghong, looked at Wei Jie and said with firm conviction, “I believe in the character of the Alliance, and in the grandson praised by the Alliance’s elderly matriarch. You are not the kind of person who could commit such bloody atrocities!”

Wei Jie raised his brows, not expecting the crown prince to suddenly mention his grandmother.

The crown prince smiled faintly with a tinge of reminiscence, “Your grandmother was renowned for her beauty in her youth and was acquainted with my late father, the emperor. The private relations between the Xia and Wei families have never been severed over these hundred years. Your situation was mentioned by your grandmother in letters to my father. On this visit, I also received my father’s instructions – if I encountered any difficulties, I could seek assistance from the Alliance…”

As he spoke, the crown prince retrieved a pendant bearing the Alliance’s demon-subduing insignia from his lapel, comparing it to the one on the handle of the whip coiled around Wei Jie’s waist.

Xiaoxiao then realized that the crown prince had not recognized their true appearances but had identified them through Wei Jie’s Alliance insignia.

It turned out the Alliance’s elderly matriarch had such close ties with the current emperor. According to the crown prince, when she was traveling in her youth, the matriarch had once saved the emperor’s life, thus renewing the longstanding bond between the Xia and Wei families.

Today, when Xiaoxiao and Wei Jie had stumbled into the crown prince’s chambers, he had seen the Alliance’s insignia and deduced their identities, prompting him to rescue them from the Prince Can’s Manor.

As for why the crown prince was wary of the Prince Can, it was also related to the Alliance’s matriarch.

Crown Prince Xia Chenghong let out a sigh, “Before I came here, your grandmother had mentioned that the Prince Can’s Manor harbored venomous creatures. However, in my memory, my younger imperial uncle was never so cunning and scheming. After arriving in Luoyi City, not only have my doubts not been resolved, but they have only grown deeper… You ask why I am cautious of my own uncle? Because… he is not the Prince Can!”

Regarding this point, Xiaoxiao and Wei Jie had already guessed as much. It seemed that during the crown prince’s visit to the manor, his seemingly casual reminiscing about childhood actually carried profound meaning, causing the false Prince Can some discomfort in responding.

Hearing this, Xiaoxiao could not help but ask, “If he is not your imperial uncle, then who is he? And how dare he so brazenly impersonate a member of the imperial clan?”

Crown Prince Xia Chenghong gave another wry smile before slowly speaking, “While one’s appearance can change with age, certain physical details remain unalterable. The Prince Can and I were very close in our youth, like brothers despite our differences in status. I remember my own mischievousness – I once took him tree-climbing and catching cicadas, only for a branch to injure the back of his ear, causing profuse bleeding. Fearing my imperial grandfather’s reprimand, I had the eunuchs secretly stop the bleeding. Afterward, he was left with a protruding scar behind his ear. But when I saw the Prince Can this time, the area behind his ear was smooth, without any scarring. Instead, there was a red mole on the back of one earlobe… I have only ever seen such a distinctive mole on one other person in my life…”

Xiaoxiao was engrossed in listening but saw the crown prince suddenly pause, so she asked, “Who was it?”

The crown prince seemed deep in thought, occasionally shaking his head as if perplexed, or frowning in puzzlement.

Finally, he seemed to abandon untangling the doubts in his mind. He dipped his hand in the wine, casually picked up a decorative jade ax, and slowly wrote the words “ear city” on the blade’s surface before wiping it clean.

Xiaoxiao frowned, momentarily confused by the crown prince’s enigmatic actions.

However, Wei Jie’s brow slightly furrowed, as if he had immediately understood the crown prince’s meaning.

“This… can it be true? But that person is no longer around?”

The crown prince knew Wei Jie had grasped his implication and let out a wry, soft laugh, “I, too, doubted my own suspicion. But that mole was too distinctive, like a reclining Buddha, and not at all common. As cultivators, you must be well-versed in many supernatural abilities. I wonder if there might be a way to return from the dead?”

Xiaoxiao and Wei Jie exchanged a glance but remained silent.

In the past few days, they had encountered quite a few individuals who had seemingly returned from the dead. That Wei Di and Wan Lianshi, for instance, seemed to be individuals who should have perished but had instead changed their appearances to continue living in this world. Based on the conversation between Wan Lianshi and Qin He, it appeared the Prince Can possessed the ability to borrow life forces from others!

So after pondering for a moment, Xiaoxiao said, “Your Highness’s suspicion is reasonable. If a person can borrow life from elsewhere, then he would be the king of the underworld realm, even more esteemed than… an emperor. The network of power and influence in his hands would be more formidable than an emperor’s!”

The crown prince did not take offense at Xiaoxiao’s irreverent words, only giving a bitter smile, “In truth, my father the emperor has long been stripped of his authority. Neither he nor I can act as we wish when governing. The elderly ministers left behind by the late emperor rigidly control court affairs, leaving my father as a mere puppet on the throne, without true agency! However, this lingering doubt in my mind is too shocking to be voiced without evidence, lest it provoke unimaginable upheaval across the realm.”

Wei Jie, having drained another jug of wine, said, “After partaking of such an exquisite brew today, it is only natural to alleviate Your Highness’s troubles. Allow me to confirm the Prince Can’s true identity before informing you. However, this place is perilous, and the Prince Can has many eyes and ears. Since you have provided us shelter today, I fear you may also become implicated. Please take utmost care, Your Highness!”

The crown prince smiled faintly, “In the eyes of others, I have always been seen as a debauched wastrel. Such a worthless individual is unlikely to warrant much scrutiny or scheming. Rest assured, I will exercise prudence.”

Thus, Wei Jie and Cui Xiaoxiao hastily parted ways with the crown prince under the moonlight.

According to Wanlian Master’s intentions, the slander against Cui Xiaoxiao had not gone far enough, and they still planned to slaughter the village where Xiaoxiao and her companions had sought refuge.

Now, there was no time to waste. They needed to immediately return and capture the hidden mastermind in the act!

However, on their way back, Xiaoxiao suddenly came to a realization and paused in her steps, murmuring, “He wrote something on the ax blade… a character like ‘ye,’ which is the character for ‘grandfather’?”

Although literate, Xiaoxiao’s foundation came from her mother’s teachings, making her slightly slower than Wei Jie at deciphering such wordplay.

Wei Jie made a gesture for silence before silently nodding his head in affirmation.

In the northern regions, the term “grandfather” referred to one’s paternal grandfather’s father.

In other words, the crown prince suspected that the Prince Can was his own imperial grandfather – the late Emperor Xia Yuansong, who had passed away over twenty years ago?

But the Prince Can appeared to be no more than thirty years old, while the late Emperor Xia Yuansong had been in his nineties when he passed!

No wonder the crown prince had seemed hesitant earlier, unable to fully convince even himself!

However, if this were true, it would explain the various mysteries surrounding the Prince Can.

The original Prince Can had indeed been sickly from a young age. His initial enfeoffment to the Luoyi territory had been arranged by the late Emperor Xia Yuansong himself.

Xiaoxiao boldly speculated that the true Prince Can must have perished prematurely. Through some unknown means, Xia Yuansong had managed to regress from an elderly, decrepit state back to youthful vigor, then assumed his young son’s identity to continue living as an idle monarch in Luoyi, thereby evading the destiny recorded in the Book of Life and Death.

But while the people of Luoyi might not recognize the Prince Can, there would certainly be a significant difference between a youth in his teens and a man in his twenties or thirties.

This drastic disparity in the false Prince Can’s appearance and age compared to the original must have been the reason for his decade-long seclusion after arriving in his territory.

After over ten years had passed, this imposter could then attribute any changes in his appearance to the naturally transformative effects of reaching adulthood, surely having made meticulous preparations to avoid arousing suspicion.

However, the crown prince’s sudden visit had caught the Prince Can somewhat off guard. After all, the crown prince was intimately familiar with both his imperial grandfather and the young Prince Can.

Yet this crown prince was quite the sly one, able to detect the discrepancies.

Xiaoxiao had initially assumed this Prince Can’s goal was to seize the imperial throne. But if he truly was Xia Yuansong, then the emperor’s throne would have been something he had already cast aside.

So what exactly was this Xia Yuansong seeking? Could it be the eternal life and youth that all emperors coveted?

With this thought, Xiaoxiao spoke up, “Wan Lianshi said this Prince Can can borrow life forces to extend his own… Since he was originally an elderly man nearing the end of his life, whose life force did he borrow?”

Wei Jie had also been pondering this and said indifferently, “Destined longevity is already predetermined. If he greedily desired more, he must have taken it from others… If I’m not mistaken, the true Prince Can has likely already been filially sacrificed by his covetous father…”

Xiaoxiao blinked slowly before taking a deep breath.

She had long heard of the depravities within imperial palaces but also knew that even vicious tigers do not consume their own cubs. If Wei Jie’s speculation was accurate, then this Xia Yuansong, in his pursuit of immortality, had truly reached the realm of demonic possession by using his own son’s life force to extend his own!

Thinking of this, and recalling the Prince Can’s seemingly cultured and mild smile, Xiaoxiao felt a wave of nausea.

The two of them had caused an uproar in the king’s manor that night, yet it had yielded some gains. Xiaoxiao had thoroughly suppressed Wanlian Master’s arrogance, and together with Wei Jie, they had severely wounded him, clearing the Lingshan Talisman Sect’s name.

Moreover, they had become acquainted with the crown prince and glimpsed the Prince Can’s secrets.

However, they did not know the current state of the village where they had been temporarily residing, where Tang Youshu, Yu Ling’er, and the others remained.

If they encountered the men dispatched by Wanlian Master, the fox tribe would fare better, but her master Tang Youshu would be defenseless!

Thinking of this, Xiaoxiao could not help but quicken her pace. Unfortunately, her lightness skill was not even worth mentioning, so if she wanted to move faster, she would need Wei Jie to carry her as they advanced.

The aphrodisiac’s effects had greatly diminished upon encountering the cool night air. However, when Xiaoxiao was carried on Wei Jie’s back, pressed against him and inhaling his masculine scent, she could not help but nuzzle her face against his back…

Wei Jie could not resist arching his brow. Halting his steps, he turned his head to ask, “Do you want… um…”

Before he could finish speaking, Xiaoxiao’s soft hand covered his mouth.

Of course, Xiaoxiao was aware of her current lack of restraint!

However, enduring the lascivious insect’s venom was torment enough – she had no desire to hear her disciple utter any lewd remarks!

Thus, Xiaoxiao nuzzled her cheek against her disciple’s face and neck while closing her eyes, softly murmuring, “I’ll be fine in a bit, no more nonsense!”

With his mouth covered by her hand, Wei Jie could not remind his master that her words sounded like those of a shameless patron frequenting brothels, arrogantly proclaiming, “I’ve paid, so I’ll play as I please,” ready to hike up his trousers and depart after a mere cup of tea.

However, he also knew they could not afford any further delays. Taking a deep breath, he endured his master’s occasional fidgeting and continued their hurried journey.

The drug’s effects on him were not as profound as on Xiaoxiao, and being of part fox demoness bloodline, he naturally had greater resistance to such aphrodisiacal effects compared to ordinary people.

However, he knew that back in the secret passage, he had nearly lost control of himself.

The young lady he carried on his back seemed to possess some bewitching power, like a potent aphrodisiac personalized solely for him – once its effects took hold, it burned with an unquenchable fire, defying any remedy…

Fortunately, as he rushed forward with the night wind breezing past, the insatiable Xiaoxiao gradually returned to her normal self after sampling enough of her disciple’s “delicacies.”

When the two of them finally returned to the village, they saw from a distance that it remained shrouded in darkness.

Xiaoxiao and Wei Jie exchanged a glance, deciding to promptly enter the village.

But just as they were about to step forward, two figures resembling tree barks suddenly materialized from the large trees beside them, crossing their swords against the pair’s necks in a cold voice, “Don’t move!”

Xiaoxiao and Wei Jie looked at each other, then towards the new arrivals. Several more people wearing bark-patterned clothing revealed themselves from their concealment.

The leader, wearing a bark mask and speaking in a feminine voice, pressed her blade against Xiaoxiao’s neck and said coldly, “May I ask where the two of you are hurriedly headed at this late hour?”

Xiaoxiao found the voice familiar but couldn’t immediately place it. She replied, “We are from a village in the mountains and were planning to return home to rest. Are you valiant ones intending to demand a toll for passage?”

The woman let out a cold laugh as she appraised them, “And what business are you in that requires returning so late? “

Xiaoxiao knew her current heavily made-up appearance, coupled with Wei Jie’s unwashed tiger-patterned body paint, did not resemble decent folks. So she smiled apologetically, “There was a courtesan parade in the city, and my third martial aunt’s second cousin from the opera troupe was shorthanded, so my brother and I went to lend a hand and earn some pocket money… Here, take this purse of coins, valiant ones.”

As Xiaoxiao smiled and spoke, Wei Jie suddenly struck from behind, swiftly knocking out a few of the men holding blades to his neck.

At the same time, Xiaoxiao deftly slapped a immobilization talisman onto the woman’s neck.

In an instant, the situation reversed – instead of being the waylaid, it was now the Talisman Sect’s master and disciple holding the woman at blade-point.

Frightened yet unable to move, she cried out, “What… what do you want to do?”

Xiaoxiao did not waste words. She stepped forward and removed the woman’s bark mask. Upon seeing the familiar face, her eyes widened in surprise.

For this woman was none other than Ling Zhishan, the future Palace Master of the Twin Manifestation Palace from two hundred years later!

She was Qin Lingxiao’s martial sister disciple. It was her later arrival with the demonic bead “Resentment” that had inadvertently caused Xiaoxiao and Qin Lingxiao to be sent back two hundred years into the past when the two beads merged with the divine statue.

Now, seeing Ling Zhishan’s familiar face, Xiaoxiao was momentarily uncertain if she was reuniting with an acquaintance from two hundred years later or encountering the younger Ling Zhishan from two centuries past.

However, observing Ling Zhishan’s slightly more youthful features and her expression of panicked immobility, Xiaoxiao deduced that this was likely the original Ling Zhishan from two hundred years ago.

Wei Jie, unaware of Xiaoxiao’s realization, had sealed the accupoint of the few men he had knocked out and asked if they were Wan Lianshi’s people.

The men, indignant yet unable to speak, shook their heads vigorously.

Ling Zhishan also hurriedly explained, “This young lady, we are not bad people. Have you not heard of Wonderful Immortal Mountain? I am Ling Zhishan, daughter of the late Mountain Master. We are cultivators of the orthodox path. We only stopped you because it was so late, suspecting you might be those two bloodsucking fiends from the Talisman Sect.”

After hearing this, Xiaoxiao merely let out an “oh” before finding a rock to sit on, her mind sorting through the intricate web of relationships.

If what she said was true, then the future Palace Master of the Twin Manifestation Palace was actually the daughter of one of the Four Great Sect’s late Mountain Masters!

According to the original trajectory, people had believed Wei Jie was responsible for killing the Mountain Master of Wonderful Immortal Mountain.

In other words, Ling Zhishan, like Qin Lingxiao, had concealed her identity when joining Wei Jie’s sect to avenge her father’s death through bitter perseverance.

In this altered timeline, although the Mountain Master of Wonderful Immortal Mountain had still perished due to being overly possessed by a puppeteer talisman, everyone now knew it was the murderous deed of the traitorous father-daughter duo Wei Di and his child, acting on the Prince Can’s orders – unrelated to Xiaoxiao or Wei Jie.

So why was this woman still so insistent on pursuing a grievance against the Lingshan Talisman Sect?

Hearing Xiaoxiao’s query, Ling Zhishan was not surprised. As a cultivator, she had naturally heard about the Wonderful Immortal Mountain’s late Mountain Master’s tragic demise.

Unable to move, she could only honestly answer, “Although Wei Jie and Cui Xiaoxiao were not involved in my father’s death, they have become demonized and harmed others, warranting elimination by the orthodox path. I have brought my disciples to apprehend them – what is wrong with that? May I ask who you two are? Can you release us?”

It turned out that after the Wonderful Immortal Mountain’s late Mountain Master had passed away, a heated succession battle had erupted for the new leadership.

Several of the late master’s senior martial brothers vied for the position, while his devoted disciples rallied behind his sole daughter Ling Zhishan’s candidacy.

Unfortunately, Ling Zhishan’s relatively shallow cultivation bases made her a target of disdain from her martial uncles. Knowing she needed a significant accomplishment to assert her authority, Ling Zhishan had led her followers away from the sect.

It was then that they came across official notices with the crown prince’s seal, declaring a substantial reward for anyone capable of apprehending the two demonic fiends.

Ling Zhishan felt that capturing these two would be a suitable feat to prove her worth. Thus, she had her people lie in wait outside the village.

After hearing the full story, Xiaoxiao nodded in understanding before exchanging a glance with Wei Jie.

This woman had outright declared her intent to apprehend them – if they tried to conceal their identities, it would be somewhat dishonorable…

Thus, Xiaoxiao looked around before washing her face in a nearby stream, then passed a damp cloth to Wei Jie.

Once the master and disciple had cleansed themselves of their heavy makeup and body paint, revealing their true appearances, one of Ling Zhishan’s disciples exclaimed in shock, “Little Martial Sister, they… they are Cui Xiaoxiao and Wei Jie of the Talisman Sect!”

Ling Zhishan was taken aback, not expecting to have conversed with the very demonized duo she had intended to capture.

As her gaze shifted from Xiaoxiao’s beautiful, lively features to the tall, imposing man beside her, she found herself utterly enchanted…

With the tiger stripes and body paint washed away, the man revealed a chiseled, alluringly handsome visage.

The wild, demonic aura exuded by his now loose, cascading hair only heightened his untamed charm.

  • The Delicate Female Lead Only Wants to be Loved by the Villainous Young Ladies 16

Chapter 16: Lying with the Ice Queen

That was the softness and sweetness Hermione longed for. Emitting a faint citrus fragrance.

Unfortunately, she didn’t dare to kiss too deeply. Afraid of waking Adele who was in deep sleep.

She seemed to gradually forget that she was actually a Sequence One who could do as she pleased. As a descendant of the vampire True Ancestor, and one of the best among them.

Even if Adele was woken up, she didn’t have to take any responsibility. Or rather, directly “execute on the spot” Adele based on her surging desire and ambition.

No one could stop her either. The only thing that stopped Hermione from becoming brutal, from only taking from Adele without care and gentleness, has always been only herself.

She is willing to restrain herself for Adele’s sake. Restrain the id in her heart.

    Uphold the moral self. And…

It’s just that the kiss that was like overlapping flower petals ended. The moment she let go of her lips, the ice in Hermione’s cold and beautiful eyes had melted into spring water.

Gently gazing at the pure maiden underneath. She lifted a corner of the blanket and carefully crawled in.

As if this wasn’t her home, her bed. She was the little thief who sneaked in while Adele was dreaming.

A little thief who longed to steal Adele’s pounding true heart. Adele’s sleeping appearance was like an angel.

Even angels were far inferior to her. After all, angels truly exist in this world.

And they are highly dangerous entities to contain. Even high-sequence vampires would feel pressured when facing them and can’t take them lightly.

Hermione lay on her side, the shape of the maiden’s curvaceous figure appearing on the sheets. She rested on one of her arms, and even late into the night, she still longingly and reluctantly gazed at Adele.

If she admired for a long time, would Adele enter her dreams? Hermione didn’t know.

She quietly yawned, drowsiness coming over her. Hermione felt an unprecedented satisfaction in her heart.

This satisfaction was different from plundering, different from possessing, different from being full from taking in enough blood. It was a happiness that naturally arose without needing to do anything, as mild as the wind.

The last time she felt this happiness was in the very, very distant past. Hermione closed her eyes and silently said to Adele in her heart,

“Good night, my…” Perhaps it was because she expended too much physical strength in the training room, Hermione’s consciousness quickly became hazy, her breathing even and long.

It probably wouldn’t take long before she fell asleep. And it was at this moment.

She felt something warm and soft, a little thing, snuggling into her arms.

Is it because it’s too hot? Hermione began to sincerely thank the thickness of this set of bedding on her bed.

Otherwise, with her always cool constitution, it usually isn’t well-liked. No one would like to hug a cold body that was like a corpse.

But Adele was an exception. This made Hermione’s heart slightly moved.

Hermione’s consciousness was hazy, only her body honestly responded to the maiden’s embrace. And felt incomparable satisfaction.

Drowsiness also enveloped Hermione’s body and heart at this moment. Entering the dreamland.

In ancient times, there was lying on ice to seek carp. In modern times, there is Adele lying with the ice mountain queen to seek cuddling!

Although Hermione’s constitution is indeed not suitable for hugging to sleep, at least not very suitable in this late autumn season. It should feel very refreshing in summer.

But Adele won’t give up this excellent opportunity to increase favorability. Going all out!

Another thing to mention is that when Hermione took the initiative to lower her head and secretly kiss Adele, Adele’s mood at that time was truly ecstatic!

At the same time, holding back laughter was also very exhausting. It’s definitely not as simple as pretending to be asleep on the surface.

Allow Adele to proudly put her hands on her hips for a while! Easily capturing the Sequence One vampire lady!

    Because I am Sequence Five…!

But it’s still a bit too cold… Hermione’s body temperature is much lower than ordinary people.

Hugging her today, she’ll probably get a stomachache and fever tomorrow. Adele’s body is indeed quite fragile, but also unusually tenacious.

Belonging to the Schrödinger’s constitution between weak and sturdy. Otherwise, she wouldn’t be able to withstand being sucked dry by so many Sequence One villain ladies.

Adele gritted her teeth and persevered. With a soft fragrance in her arms.

Adele also fell into a deep sleep in a daze.

The next morning, Adele indeed had mild fever symptoms. The maiden’s body became burning hot, directly startling Hermione who was indulging in a beautiful dream.

    “A-Adele…!”

“Hmm… what is it, Hermione.” Adele rubbed her drowsy eyes. Then, with Hermione’s support, slowly sat up.

The maiden’s cheeks were slightly red, her eyes looking somewhat dazed and charming. At the same time, she began to cough lightly.

    “Cough cough…!”

Hermione looked at her with a worried face, and at the same time thought of something, biting her lips in self-blame.

    “It’s all my fault…”

“No, it’s because my constitution is too weak.”

Even though her body was a bit weak, Adele still tried her best to show a smile to comfort Hermione. “And… didn’t Hermione endure it?”

Hermione was stunned for a moment, then reacted. Adele was talking about her enduring not taking her blood.

Of course, the time in the bathroom was an exception. Because that was the result of Adele’s initiative.

And Adele continued speaking in her gentle voice. “Hermione is special, different from them.”

“Only Hermione would treat me so gently, not being rough, caring about my body.” “So… cough cough, I’ll rest for a bit more and be fine.”

Then, Adele showed a look of wanting to say something but stopping. Hermione of course couldn’t ignore it.

“Adele, what is it! Is there anything you need me to do?”

    “N-nothing, just thinking…”

Adele’s gaze wandered, also looking shy. “It would be nice if Hermione could personally make me breakfast.”

The maiden’s cheeks were dyed with an embarrassed red, gradually mixing with the slight red from the fever. Her whole person appeared sickly yet seductive.

“Even if it’s just two simple slices of bread with jam, it doesn’t matter…” “I actually don’t have much of an appetite.”

“But I feel like no matter what it is, as long as Hermione makes it, it would taste delicious.” She also hurriedly added.

    “H-Hermione, if you’re unwilling, then never mind…”

“I’ll lie down for a bit more, then accompany Hermione to school together, cough cough!”

    “I’m not unwilling.”

Hermione hurriedly responded, at the same time heartachingly pulling Adele into her arms. The difference in height between the two caused Adele’s cheeks to almost be buried in Hermione’s bosom at this moment.

Feeling that lofty, violently heaving mounds. Adele suddenly felt.

Even if she wasn’t just slightly feverish, even if she had a fever of forty degrees, it would be worth it!

Anyway, this level of fever is very serious for humans, but not that scary for vampires.

The maiden greedily sniffed the mellow milk fragrance in front of her, her pink pupils slightly narrowing. For a moment, she could temporarily forget the discomfort in her body.

There is no better medicine for curing illnesses than a woman’s embrace.

    “Go to school?”

Hermione’s somewhat puzzled voice came. “I can ask for leave for Adele, Adele just needs to obediently stay at my home.”

“Stay forever… I mean, stay until your illness gets better.”

Hermione almost blurted out her true thoughts. But I have to say.

That is indeed an extremely tempting proposal. If Adele could always stay only by her side.

Stay at her home and not go anywhere. Only becoming her caged bird, her bedmate…

    How wonderful would that be?

But upon hearing this, Adele became anxious. “No! If a Sequence Five skips class, there will be very serious consequences to bear…”

As for what exactly are the consequences, Adele has no idea. In any case, it’s said to be very serious!

“Hermione, thank you, I just have a slight fever, it’s not a big deal.”

Adele’s gaze was pitiful, making it impossible to refuse. But in fact, what she was thinking was…

If she doesn’t let me go to school, how can I rely on my sickly appearance to gain sympathy?

How can I conquer the other villain female leads?

Hermione, I advise you not to meddle in my business! Even if you are also my wings!

  • They All Want to Be My Female Lead v2 c68

68 I Don’t Need a Thousand Words to Beat You

After eating his fill and washing up, Yan Zhen returned to his room, activated Star Shift Fire Seal, and went to pay his respects to the beautiful sect master.

Not seeing the beautiful sect master for two days felt like an eternity, he missed her so much, and so on.

Chen Xi gave her oily-tongued precious disciple a look and calmly said:

“Since you have a duel tomorrow, Zhen’er, rest well. We can continue the cultivation lessons after the duel is over.”

Yan Zhen made a non-standard bow to show he understood:

“Then I’ll be going, Master. Good night~”

    “Wait.”

Chen Xi grabbed Yan Zhen’s arm, gently pulled him into her embrace, then slightly lowered her head and lightly kissed his brow.

“This is Master’s blessing for you. Remember to win.”

Yan Zhen shyly touched the spot he was kissed and quietly said, “Thank you, Master.”

    “Go on.”

The night passed without further words.

The next day, when Yan Zhen woke up, the sun was shining through the window onto the desk in the room, making the interior bright and clear.

After washing up, he came to the dining room and found that Mi Xue’er, who had disappeared for a few days, was back.

During this time period, she should have been called back home by her family for matchmaking, which made her quite distressed.

After he finished fighting Lan Ke, Mi Xue’er would ask him to pretend to be her boyfriend in order to refuse the matchmaking arranged by her family.

    “Morning, everyone.”

Yan Zhen sat in his seat, happily greeted them, and started eating breakfast.

Today’s breakfast was spring rolls. Yan Meng’er specially added meat inside, making them truly fragrant~

Eat your fill, go to school.

On the way, quite a few classmates gave him strange looks, as if pitying him for the imminent defeat he would face, and also as if mocking him for overestimating his abilities.

Clearly, after fermenting for a few days, the matter of Yan Zhen, who placed first in the intermediate class monthly test, challenging Lan Ke, who ranked third on the 9-star list, had spread throughout the entire academy.

The situation didn’t improve much after getting to class either. Everyone thought Yan Zhen had no chance of winning at all.

A 6-star fighting a 9-star was very difficult to begin with, and Lan Ke was also a top expert among 9-stars. The probability of Yan Zhen winning was almost zero. He would definitely get a vicious beating from Lan Ke.

There was even a bookie taking bets on the duel, with Lan Ke having 1:1 odds and Yan Zhen having 1:10 odds.

    A typical protagonist’s treatment.

Yan Zhen chuckled coldly and asked Mi Xue’er to help him place a bet, going all-in on himself.

Mi Xue’er also bet on Yan Zhen. It was free money anyway.

“Little bro Yan Zhen, I believe in you. You can do it!”

Mi Xue’er cheered him on as written in the script. Yan Zhen felt very appreciated and assured her he would definitely win. As for Yan Ruyu, although she didn’t say discouraging words like in the script, there was still worry between her brows as she glanced at him from time to time.

At noon, when he went to the cafeteria, even more pitying and mocking gazes were directed at Yan Zhen. Xiao Shi even specially ran over to taunt him for a bit. It’s just that Yan Zhen was busy accepting his cousin’s attentive feeding and had no time to pay attention to him, so Xiao Shi could only slink away dejectedly.

Finally, after a day of classes ended, a large number of students flocked to the dueling stage, wanting to watch a good show. The people on the 9-star list naturally wouldn’t miss it. Besides them, several instructors including

Instructor Yu Xuan, Instructor Niu, Instructor Ma, Instructor Tony and others also came.

The whole lineup was even bigger than a clash between experts on the 9-star list, making Xiao Shi, who was first on the 9-star list, and Yu Yue, who was second, a bit jealous.

    A typical protagonist’s treatment.

Yan Zhen was very satisfied. No deviation was a good thing, whether in plot or in draws.

    [Ding! Key plot begins]

[Current plot progress – Chapter 98 Duel with Lan Ke]

[Acting requirement: Duel with Lan Ke, get suppressed at first, then counterattack, finally defeat him with one punch, shocking the whole crowd]

    [Completion: 0%]

Under the escort of the three girls, Yan Zhen stepped onto the dueling stage one step at a time. He stood still, facing off against Lan Ke who had been waiting on the stage for a long time with the referee instructor between them.

Lan Ke wore a clean uniform, his hair neat and tidy, even fixed with hair gel, unmoved by the wind.

He wore a silkworm ice glove on his right hand, shrouded in a circle of hazy white mist, looking very strong with the special effect.

“You actually had the guts to come up. I’ll acknowledge your courage for now, Yan Zhen.” Lan Ke said arrogantly with his hands behind his back, “But it’s not too late to regret now. I can give you a chance to admit your mistake. As long as you kneel and kowtow, say you were wrong, I’ll let you off this time.”

“Heh, too bad, I don’t want to give you any chances.” Yan Zhen lifted the corner of his mouth, revealing a spirited smile, “The villain should be blasted right away. It would be bad if he disgusts the readers.”

    *Whoosh*

Profound power surged on the surface of his body like flames, very similar to the profound power shield of a Mystic Scholar, greatly surprising many spectators below the stage.

Lan Ke also knew that the cultivation method Yan Zhen practiced seemed a bit unusual, not knowing where he got it from. The jealousy towards him in Lan Ke’s heart increased by another notch.

“Ignorant fellow, then I’ll let you witness the substance of being the third on the 9-star list.”

As he spoke, Lan Ke also circulated his ice profound power, resonating with the silkworm ice glove on his right hand, emitting bursts of chilling air.

“What substance? I do know a Han Jinlun though.” Yan Zhen slowly clenched his fists, profound power brewing in his palms, “You only see the second floor and think I’m on the first floor, but I’m actually on the fifth floor.”

“Hmph, glib-tongued, pretentious! Today I’ll properly educate you on Ruyu’s behalf.”

“Dumbass, I don’t need a thousand words to beat you!”

As their words fell, the two raised their hands at the same time, aiming at each other with their palms and index fingers.

Lan Ke launched his attack first. The crystal embedded in the back of the silkworm ice glove absorbed profound power, then the crystal in the palm spat out an ice spike, shooting towards Yan Zhen at extreme speed.

As for Yan Zhen, his hand was shaped like a gun, his straight index finger like a barrel. Compressing air with profound power, he shot out a flame pellet with formidable power.

    The two collided in midair.

    *Pop!*

Ice and fire clashed, exploding at the same time, ice shards and sparks flying everywhere.

The two maintained the same posture, slowly stepping forward, continuing to shoot ice spikes and flame pellets to collide with each other. The stage was soon covered in a misty fog, their figures faintly discernible.

It could be seen that the power of the flame pellets was getting weaker and weaker, while the ice spikes were getting stronger and stronger. The upper hand was obvious.

With another ice spike, Yan Zhen’s flame pellet could no longer defend against it. He hastily dodged.

The ice spike bloomed into a burst of ice flowers where he originally stood.

From here, Yan Zhen would be suppressed by Lan Ke’s long-range attacks.

Yan Zhen pretended to have no way to deal with it while dodging the ice spikes, looking quite miserable, causing the few girls to tense their faces.

Meanwhile, on the instructors’ and 9-star powerhouses’ side, analysis and commentary began.

“At this rate, Yan Zhen will soon be defeated.”

“It’s still too difficult for a 6-star Mystic Disciple to challenge a 9-star Mystic Disciple.”

“I think he’s gone mad with the desire for fame, using Lan Ke as a stepping stone. Of course he’ll stub his toe, it’s only natural.”

    Blah blah blah.

Hearing the naysaying from various places below the stage, Yan Zhen knew it was time to counterattack.

No choice, in a wish fulfillment novel, it’s all about the ebb and flow.

Being put down one second, erupting the next second, slapping the faces of passersby with a smack.

  • They All Want to Be My Female Lead v2 c67

    67 If You’re Happy Then It’s Okay

From her desperate, ready-to-die posture, if she had said “Don’t touch me, you pervert, or I’ll kill myself in front of you”, that would have been understandable. But what she said just now was completely the opposite.

If he didn’t kiss her, she wanted them to perish together. What kind of bizarre scenario was this plot from?

However, the profound power surging from Elder Cousin indicated she wasn’t just saying it for show. If he didn’t do as she said, she might really go berserk!

Damn it, why did things turn out like this? There wasn’t this kind of plot in the script at all, who added it in?

Right, it was Meng’er! She brought Elder Cousin Ruyu here, even playing the feelings card to make him go soft and let them stay as sparring partners.

That naughty girl not only added scenes for herself, she even instigated Elder Cousin to do the same.

After beating Lan Ke, he’d have to settle the score with her properly. If he doesn’t spank that little perky butt of hers red, then he’s not Yan Zhen!

(Yan Meng’er: Achoo! Hm? Is someone thinking of me? Could it be Cousin is missing me? Hehehe~)

Yan Ruyu had already activated the Recording Mirror and set it to the side facing them. As expected, she probably wanted to use it as leverage against him.

Because after eating the pill he gave her, she exposed her wanton side. In order to turn the tables, she wanted him to also willingly show a flustered side.

Plus, the night before last, he used underhanded tactics to make Elder Cousin cry. With her grudge-bearing personality, she definitely thought about getting back at him!

This was settling new and old scores together, he was going to get caught.

Whatever, in any case, he’d do as Elder Cousin said to resolve the situation first.

Kissing was doable, but he had to steady his wandering thoughts to avoid deviating from his character setting.

Yan Zhen closed his eyes, silently adjusting his breathing. At the same time, he recited the “Original Pure Heart Formula” in his mind – “Women are all pigs’ trotters” – before opening his eyes again, gazing down at Elder Cousin’s beautiful face from above.

    “Then I’ll really kiss you.”

Yan Ruyu originally had a sharp look in her eyes, an expression of “Kiss me or don’t even think of leaving”, all cutely fierce. But hearing Yan Zhen was really going to kiss her, she became shy again.

    “You, hurry up.”

Yan Zhen didn’t waste words either. Looking at Elder Cousin’s tender, glossy cherry lips, he lowered his head and kissed her.

    “Mm!”

Yan Ruyu’s beautiful eyes widened slightly, the hands hugging Yan Zhen also tightened unconsciously, ten fingers clutching the clothes on his back.

Following Yan Zhen’s lip and tongue’s attack, the shyness and stubbornness between Yan Ruyu’s brows gradually melted. Under the influence of passion and desire, her gaze turned hazy, then greedily responded.

Yan Zhen originally thought kissing a couple times would be enough, but Yan Ruyu suddenly turned the tables on him, tightly sucking on him, unwilling to let go.

Time passed bit by bit. Only when both of them had difficulty breathing did Yan Ruyu release his mouth. Face flushed red, panting nonstop, Yan Zhen also had a dazed expression. Because of the lack of oxygen, his mind went blank. His whole body lazily lay on Elder Cousin’s chest, pillowing on her high, towering peaks, breathing heavily.

If someone saw the state the two of them were in right now, they would definitely think they just had an intense physical tussle.

Feeling Yan Ruyu’s hands no longer restraining him, Yan Zhen immediately rolled over, sprawling next to Elder Cousin like a salted fish.

    “Is this enough, Elder Cousin?”

Yan Ruyu lay on the ground, the back of her right hand pressed against her forehead, eyes half-lidded. She lightly “Mm-ed”, her left hand quietly putting away the Recording Mirror.

“We’re even now, so everything that happened just now doesn’t count, forget all of it!”

    “…Okay.”

If you’re happy then it’s okay!

“Let’s rest a bit, then train again after waking up. You must be tired too.”

    “Mm.”

The atmosphere was silent and stiff, but neither of them had any intention of breaking it.

Whether it was Yan Ruyu or Yan Zhen, after training for a day, they were indeed both a bit tired.

The night grew darker and darker. Inside the martial arts field, it was as bright as day. Under the lights, two figures lay together, quietly falling asleep.

Half-dreaming, half-awake, Yan Zhen seemed to hear a woman’s whimpers. There wasn’t a sad undertone, rather it had an alluring charm that made his body feel a surge of heat.

However, before really heating up, Yan Zhen fell completely asleep again.

When Yan Zhen woke up, Yan Ruyu had already recovered, standing to the side reaching her hand out to him:

“It’s almost dawn, get up and let’s continue training.”

Yan Zhen yawned, very naturally placing his hand in Elder Cousin’s, pulled up by her.

After eating medicinal pills in place of food, the cousins began sparring again.

This time Yan Ruyu was on the offensive, Yan Zhen could only stand in place passively defending, using Qigong Finger and Qi Vortex Technique to disrupt Elder Cousin’s attacking rhythm.

The training continued until afternoon. The two finally opened the martial arts field’s big doors and walked out, dragging their tired bodies.

A gust of hot wind blew towards them, making their complexions look a few shades worse.

“Not taking a bath for two days, my whole body stinks. Let’s hurry back.”

*Sniff sniff* “It’s not bad, Elder Cousin, you don’t smell.”

“Don’t come near me, I meant you.”

    “Ugh…”

Bickering listlessly while walking out the academy gates, then flagging down a carriage, the two cousins clambered into the carriage, leaning against each other exhausted, heads touching. If you didn’t know better, you’d think they had a very close relationship.

    “Thanks, Elder Cousin.”

“Who wants your thanks, I was just doing what I should.”

“Elder Cousin, your tsundere act is too classic.”

    “Who’s tsundere!”

“Tsunderes are out of fashion now, Elder Cousin…”

“I said I’m not. Hmph, forget it, shut your mouth, I’m dead tired.”

Returning to the estate and knocking on the big doors, the one who came out to greet them was Yan Meng’er.

The younger cousin who had worried herself sick over them, seeing the obviously shortened distance between the two, was so relieved that tears glimmered in her eyes.

    — Thank the heavens, Elder Cousin is finally starting to shed her tsundere personality and can face her feelings for Cousin directly.

“Cousin, Elder Cousin, you’re back. How was the training?”

“Don’t ask anything, right now I just want to eat, bathe, sleep.”

“No problem, Meng’er and Instructor Yu Xuan already prepared a big meal for you in advance.”

“Good girl, I’m going to pig out, then wash up nicely, then enter dreamland.”

“Hey, Yan Zhen, didn’t you just say to let me bathe first!”

Yan Ruyu slapped Yan Zhen’s arm. Yan Zhen glanced over:

“You said it, I didn’t agree. Didn’t you say I stink? Then what’s wrong with me bathing first?”

“I don’t care, I want to bathe first. My body is all sticky and gross, it’s killing me. Only the hot spring in the bathhouse can save me.”

“I’m uncomfortable too, I also need the hot spring’s salvation.”

“You just have to fight me for it, huh?”

“You’re the one fighting me for it.”

The two stopped walking, glaring at each other.

Seeing this, Yan Meng’er hurriedly inserted herself between them, playing peacemaker:

“Hey hey hey, Elder Cousin, Cousin, don’t argue. You can compromise – just bathe together.”

“You, what nonsense are you saying Meng’er, who wants to bathe with him…”

“Heh, Meng’er’s suggestion is spot on. I have no objections.”

    “You– Scoundrel!”

    “Bleh bleh bleh~”

Busy in the kitchen, Instructor Yu Xuan saw her three quarreling disciples through the ventilation window and gently smiled.

Chapter 104: The Spirit Dragon’s Grotto Heaven

    “Ling Long’s song…?”

Ye Lingxuan echoed his words, her gaze following his towards the summit of Two Polarities Peak. She tilted her head, her voice laced with confusion. “Why can’t I hear anything?”

Wei Mengrou glanced at Mu Zhi’an. “I can’t hear anything either.”

He held his breath, listening intently. Then he realized that the song wasn’t coming from the mountain. It was echoing directly in his mind.

“It’s a mental message,” he said.

“A mental message from the summit… to your mind…?” Ye Lingxuan frowned, her voice laced with disbelief. Even as a Foundation Establishment cultivator, she knew that mental messages required proximity. Yet Mu Zhi’an was claiming to hear Ling Long’s song from here. It was strange.

He pondered for a moment, then said, “Ling Long has existed since the sect’s founding. Its power and understanding are beyond our comprehension. Perhaps it has a secret technique for long-distance communication.”

She considered his words, then nodded. He was right. Each breakthrough in cultivation brought about significant changes. It was possible that Ling Long possessed a secret technique for transmitting messages across vast distances.

“Let’s go see,” he said, looking at Wei Mengrou. “We’ll need your help again, Mengrou.”

She nodded impassively. Her expression might have been neutral, but a flicker of curiosity shone in her eyes.

The flying sword soared through the air, carrying them towards the summit. Mu Zhi’an looked up, the wind whipping through his hair, the song echoing in his mind, beautiful yet mournful, like the siren’s call, alluring yet lonely.

They reached the summit, and Wei Mengrou landed the sword gracefully. Ye Lingxuan stepped off the sword, her purple dress swirling around her, her gaze sweeping over the desolate landscape, a hint of nostalgia in her eyes. Her father had brought her here once, seven or eight years ago. She hadn’t expected to return as a disciple of the Two Polarities Sect.

I wonder how the sect master is doing. She sighed inwardly. Her childhood memories were fading, but she still remembered meeting the Empress that year. While the Empress’s face was blurred by time, her aura, it remained vivid in her mind, a vision of unparalleled beauty.

A woman like her, time wouldn’t leave any marks on her.

Mu Zhi’an had asked how she had breached the formations. But the truth was, she hadn’t needed to. The ring she wore, it was a gift from the Empress, given to her during that visit.

If I become an inner disciple, I wonder if I’ll have a chance to see her again. She felt a flicker of childlike anticipation.

    “Aaaa~”

The beautiful song echoed from the depths of the cliff. Mu Zhi’an’s spirits lifted, and he looked down. Ling Long was truly here! Bringing Ye Lingxuan had been the right decision. This was Two Polarities Peak. No disciples would come here. It was the perfect place to meet the dragon.

He waited, listening to the song, which seemed to be calling to them. He had a feeling…

A cultivator’s intuition was rarely wrong.

“Let’s go down,” Wei Mengrou said, her voice calm.

She summoned the flying sword, and they descended into the depths of the cliff. They flew through the mist, the song growing louder, and finally, they reached the bottom.

An ancient gate stood before them, its surface carved with unfamiliar symbols. The song was coming from within.

“Is this a Celestial Realm…?” Mu Zhi’an asked.

It was said that Nascent Soul cultivators could create their own pocket dimensions with their spiritual energy. These realms, known as Celestial Realms, might appear small from the outside, like a simple cave, but within, they held vast and wondrous landscapes. The palace they were staying in was a Celestial Realm created by a sect elder.

Wei Mengrou nodded, confirming his suspicion.

Should we go in…? He hesitated.

Ye Lingxuan looked up, her eyes sparkling, her voice soft. “Something in that realm is calling to me…”

    He looked at her, surprised.

Something is calling to you…? So your cheat has activated as well…? What about mine…?

He pondered for a moment, then said, “Ling Long called us here. Let’s go in.”

“If something is resonating with you, Lingxuan, perhaps you’ll find some opportunity.”

She looked at him, a hint of guilt in her eyes. “I’m sorry… I was supposed to be the one helping you… but now…”

He chuckled, shaking her head. “Don’t say that, Lingxuan.”

He had dropped the “sister” from her name, but she didn’t seem to notice.

“Anything for you, Lingxuan,” he said softly, his gaze meeting hers.

She looked at him, his handsome face illuminated by the faint light, his smile gentle, and she nodded, her voice a soft murmur.

    “Thank you.”

Her heart, usually so cold and guarded, seemed to melt a little. Her wariness towards him, it had faded.

He smiled, his heart easing, then he discreetly opened his personal interface. The word “Supporting Role” was gradually being covered by pink hearts, and now, faintly, he saw two new words emerging.

They were blurry, but he was certain they weren’t “Supporting Role.”

It seems my initial judgment was correct. Weakening the protagonist’s position, it benefits me. So Lingxuan is also a protagonist. He stared at the interface, trying to decipher the words, but he couldn’t. He would find out eventually.

And even if this hadn’t happened, he would have helped her. She was a smart and capable sister. Helping his sister, it was an investment in his own future, wasn’t it?

He smiled, taking her hand, ignoring Wei Mengrou’s disgusted gaze, and pushed open the gate.

At that moment, disciples across the nine peaks noticed something strange. Ling Long’s song wasn’t coming from Two Polarities Peak. It was echoing from every peak.

Some had dared to venture down the cliffs, and at the bottom of each cliff, they had discovered a Celestial Realm. The realms beneath the nine peaks, they were connected!

It was undoubtedly Ling Long’s realm, and its song was calling to them. Their eyes lit up with hope and anticipation.

Ye Yu was particularly excited, staring towards the cliff. The old man within him had told him about the realm, about the immense opportunity that awaited them.

It turns out, they are the protagonists 103 P2

She smiled faintly. “His destiny was… ordinary…”

Yan Ruyu’s lips parted slightly, a smile playing on her lips. “If he has any… hidden talents… I wouldn’t mind taking him as an inner disciple…”

Lan Mulian looked at her, surprised.

The nine peaks could only choose nine inner disciples. Those who entered through connections, like Mu Zhi’an and the Third Prince, they would have to spend years as outer disciples, then compete to become inner disciples.

But the library was different. If Yan Ruyu wanted an inner disciple, she could easily acquire one.

It would be beneficial for him.

    But…

    She didn’t trust her.

Yan Ruyu had been stuck at the third level of Nascent Soul for years. If she discovered that Mu Zhi’an was a Vessel, she believed in Yan Ruyu’s character, but she wasn’t sure if she could resist the temptation of a breakthrough.

It seems Junior Sister is quite fond of this young cultivator. Yan Ruyu narrowed her eyes, noticing Lan Mulian’s subtle reaction. A proud woman like her wouldn’t be so concerned about an ordinary cultivator. He must be hiding something. She made a mental note of her observation.

She noticed Lan Mulian looking towards a specific area of the peak, a flicker of surprise in her eyes.

“What is it, Junior Sister?” she asked.

“Someone has breached the formations and entered Two Polarities Peak,” Lan Mulian replied.

Yan Ruyu narrowed her eyes, surprised but not alarmed. This was the Two Polarities Sect, and they were on Two Polarities Peak. Even a fool wouldn’t dare to trespass. With the sect master’s power, any intruder would be swiftly dealt with.

    “Who is it?” she asked.

    “Mu Zhi’an.”

Lan Mulian paused, her lips parting slightly, her eyes cold and distant. “And… Ye Lingxuan…”

    “Oh?” Yan Ruyu’s interest piqued.

    This is interesting.

Junior Sister’s aura, when she mentioned Mu Zhi’an, even though she was trying to hide it, she was clearly unhappy. It was rare to see her lose her composure.

“Why would they come to Two Polarities Peak?” she murmured, then looked up at Lan Mulian. “Shall we investigate…?”

Lan Mulian hesitated. If she refused, Yan Ruyu would surely go alone, and that was something she didn’t want.

    “Alright.”

    She nodded.

Meanwhile, Ye Lingxuan led Mu Zhi’an into Two Polarities Peak, the formations offering no resistance, as if they were nonexistent.

“How did you do that, Lingxuan? Are you a formation genius…?” he asked, his voice laced with surprise.

“Even a genius couldn’t breach the formations set up by the sect master,” she replied, shaking her head, glancing at her storage ring.

She quickly changed the subject, smiling. “Let’s go to the summit.”

So it was her ring… He noticed her subtle glance, his thoughts racing. She truly is wealthy. Fifth-grade pills, a mysterious ring… The power behind her was formidable. Of course, he didn’t press her for details.

    “Aaaa~”

A beautiful, song-like sound echoed through the air, and he looked up towards the summit.

“What is it?” she asked, looking at him, curious.

    “I think I heard Ling Long’s song…” he replied.

Chapter 103: Rich Lady Hungry, Food p1

Sensing her approach, Mu Zhi’an stopped, waiting for her to catch up. As she reached him, he smiled. “You’re finally calling me Brother Mu?”

She looked up at him, smiling. “Isn’t that what you wanted?”

It was, but it doesn’t suit your aloof and slightly arrogant persona, he thought to himself. “You’re right,” he said, chuckling.

“But… is this alright? Your Brother Ye Yu was glaring at me. It was… scary…” he added, feigning concern.

She rolled her eyes, a smile playing on her lips. “Since when do you care about what others think, Young Master Mu?”

She knew he was driven by self-interest, unconcerned with public opinion. Otherwise, with his influence in Tianxuan City, he could have easily redeemed his reputation. After all, a villain only had to lay down their sword to earn praise.

“Where are you going?” she asked, her voice laced with curiosity.

She’s calling me Young Master again. Didn’t we agree on Brother Mu…? Why is she so disobedient…? He pondered for a moment, then sent her a mental message. “How much do you know about Ling Long?”

He’s going after the dragon…? Her eyes flickered, and she replied mentally, “It’s an ancient creature that has existed since the sect’s founding. Gaining its favor grants immense destiny, but it rarely acknowledges anyone.”

“People say it favors those with great destiny, but that’s not entirely true.”

“What it truly values is whether it likes you.”

“So it thinks I’m handsome?” he asked, feigning understanding.

    She rolled her eyes again.

Then a realization dawned on her, and she stared at him, her voice a surprised whisper. “You’re saying… Ling Long has chosen you…?”

He nodded. “It appeared yesterday and spoke to me.”

“But there were too many people watching, so I wanted to find a private moment to meet it, but…”

He shook his head, sighing. “Its cry this morning has attracted even more attention.”

He had to visit Ling Long soon.

    …Hopefully it’s a beautiful woman…

She pondered for a moment, then said, “You could try calling it from the cliff near Two Polarities Peak. Few disciples go there.”

“I can’t enter Two Polarities Peak. It’s protected by formations,” he replied.

And if he accidentally encountered Senior Sister Lan’s master and she realized he was her pen pal, it would be awkward. He wasn’t ready to add a shark to his pond. His pond was too small. And besides, the sect master was too high-level. Even if he succeeded in wooing her, the other fish would be devoured.

“I can take you there,” she said.

“You’re willing to help me…?” he asked, looking at her, surprised.

She nodded, her voice regaining its usual coldness. “You helped me and Qian’er. It’s the least I can do.”

She glanced at Wei Mengrou, who was standing behind him, her figure almost transparent. “I can also bring Miss Wei, but we can’t go too deep into the peak.”

He considered her offer, then nodded, smiling. “Thank you, Lingxuan.”

    “You’re so kind.”

She lifted her chin slightly, feigning indifference, then said, “Even if I didn’t help you, you would have found a way eventually.”

That’s true, but my method probably would have involved shifting the blame to someone else, like Gongsun Cheng, Ye Yu, or even the Third Prince. He smiled, but he didn’t respond. He wasn’t a good person. If others played dirty, he would play even dirtier.

“Let’s go to Two Polarities Peak,” she said.

She turned to Wei Mengrou, smiling politely. “We’ll need your help, Miss Wei.”

Wei Mengrou nodded, her hands forming seals, and a flying sword appeared. He stepped onto the sword, then offered his hand to Ye Lingxuan, smiling. “Let’s go.”

She took his hand, and he pulled her onto the sword, placing her behind him, his grip firm. “Hold on tight, Lingxuan.”

She rolled her eyes inwardly. He was just trying to take advantage, but she couldn’t expose him. She allowed him his small victory.

    Two Polarities Peak.

Lan Mulian walked gracefully through the palace, her embroidered shoes silent against the polished floor, her skirt swirling around her. Beside her, Yan Ruyu, the master of the library, sat at a table, her figure alluring, a smile playing on her lips as she watched her.

She appeared to be in her early thirties, no longer a young girl, but at the peak of her womanhood, her beauty captivating. Her skin was smooth and flawless, her smile gentle, her eyes bright and intelligent, time having only enhanced her allure, giving her a maturity that was irresistible to younger men.

Of course, age was irrelevant in the cultivation world. The sect master, one of the few Dao Integration cultivators, her age was a mystery. Few even remembered when she had ascended. Many of the elders had grown up under her guidance. In the world of cultivation, age was just a number.

The two women, their beauty complementing each other, Yan Ruyu’s allure undeniable. It wasn’t just her beauty, but also her aura. She possessed an intelligence and sophistication that came from years of study. In the modern world, she would be a mature teacher in a tight-fitting dress, glasses perched on her nose, a ruler in her hand. Few in the entire sect could rival her allure.

“What brings you to Two Polarities Peak today, Sister Yan?” Lan Mulian asked, her voice clear and melodious.

Yan Ruyu rarely left the library. She preferred books to socializing.

She smiled gently, her voice soft and alluring. “Can’t I just visit and chat with you, Junior Sister Lan?”

Lan Mulian poured her a cup of tea, smiling. “Of course you can. I was just surprised. Please, have a seat. My master is away.”

If Mu Zhi’an were here, he would be mesmerized by her beauty. Even after seeing Bai Ruoxi, he would be captivated. Bai Ruoxi was cold and delicate, while Senior Sister Lan was aloof and elegant. They were two different experiences.

Yan Ruyu sipped her tea, chatting with Lan Mulian.

“Ling Long emerged from the cliff yesterday, seemingly interested in one of the candidates, but then it left. It was rather strange…” she said, mentioning the incident.

Lan Mulian’s eyes flickered, a hint of surprise in her gaze. “It was truly interested in a disciple…?”

She had suspected as much, but hearing it confirmed, it was still unexpected.

Yan Ruyu crossed her legs, smiling. “You know her. She’ll surely be chosen as an inner disciple.”

    “Bai Ruoxi?” Lan Mulian asked.

Yan Ruyu nodded. “It seemed to be interested in her, but it didn’t grant her any destiny. It simply left.”

She paused, then asked, “Did the sect master leave to meet Ling Long…?”

Lan Mulian shook her head. “She didn’t tell me where she was going.”

    Yan Ruyu nodded.

It was to be expected. The sect master wouldn’t explain herself to her disciple.

“Actually, I came here to ask you something,” she said, her voice turning serious, her gaze fixed on Lan Mulian’s.

“Please, ask away, Sister Yan,” Lan Mulian replied, smiling.

“Everyone thought Ling Long was interested in Bai Ruoxi, but I have a different theory…” Yan Ruyu sipped her tea, her lips moist and alluring, her gaze meeting Lan Mulian’s.

“There was a young cultivator beside her.”

    Lan Mulian’s expression remained unchanged.

She knew who Yan Ruyu was talking about, but she didn’t want to discuss him. That frivolous young man, he hadn’t even sent her a paper crane since returning. He was probably still lost in Bai Ruoxi’s embrace.

“The young cultivator you favor…” Yan Ruyu continued.

Lan Mulian knew she couldn’t remain silent. “You suspect Ling Long was interested in Mu Zhi’an, not Bai Ruoxi?”

“He deciphered a part of the Trial Forest’s formation, and he just led a group of candidates through Boundless Sea Peak’s trial. He’s definitely hiding something.”

She paused, then added, “Perhaps Ling Long was attracted by his secret.”

Lan Mulian raised an eyebrow. “I don’t know him well, Sister Yan. I can’t answer your question.”

“You were the examiner for Tianxuan City, weren’t you? Were there any exceptional candidates?” Yan Ruyu persisted.

“Bai Ruoxi, Ye Yu, and Ye Lingxuan all possessed great destiny,” Lan Mulian replied.

    “What about Mu Zhi’an?”
