Chapter 120: Milk Lollipop
When Chen Yin returned to the inn, it was already late at night.
Luo Luo and Qingying were still waiting for him. The moment he entered, Luo Luo rushed over and leaped into his arms.
“Young Master!”
“Did you find anything?” Qingying asked softly.
“…Unfortunately, no.” Chen Yin shook his head.
The other side had been thorough. He hadn’t been able to find any information about the Divine Son.
His only gain was the confirmation that these people were likely also Chosen Ones.
“I might need to discuss this with Master.”
Chen Yin shook his head. “We’ll deal with that later. If they dare show up again, we won’t be so polite.”
“By the way… you haven’t changed your clothes.”
Qingying looked down at herself, then quickly covered her chest, her face flushing. “W-what…?”
“Didn’t you say you had to wear this whenever I was around?”
“So I thought you would have changed while I was gone.”
Chen Yin stroked his chin thoughtfully. “Just a guess. I could be wrong.”
“Do you actually enjoy wearing such revealing clothes?”
“You’re talking nonsense!”
Qingying stormed out of the room, slamming the door behind her.
Luo Luo glanced at the door cautiously, then tugged at Chen Yin’s sleeve.
“Young Master, where did you find those clothes for Sister Qingying?”
“What?” Chen Yin raised an eyebrow. “Does Luo Luo want to wear them too?”
“N-no way!”
Luo Luo blushed and fidgeted with her fingers. “The clothes Young Master brought… are too embarrassing.”
“But… if Young Master likes them…”
She leaned closer to his ear, her face flushed, and whispered, “I can wear them secretly, just for you~”
Chen Yin blushed.
Damn. She’s really tempting me.
This seductive little loli was too powerful.
But for the sake of his own survival, he imagined Qingmei Niang’s reaction if she saw Luo Luo in those clothes and coughed awkwardly.
“Ahem… Forget it, those clothes aren’t suitable for little girls.”
“If you want to try something on, I have something perfect for you.”
He produced a maid outfit from behind his back, as if by magic.
Luo Luo looked at the outfit curiously. “What is this?”
“Try it on, and you’ll see.”
Chen Yin grinned, wiping a drool from the corner of his mouth.
…Honestly…
A fox-eared maid. It was too perfect. He had been wanting to see Luo Luo in a maid outfit for a while now.
Luo Luo changed into the outfit. She looked like a delicate doll, the fluffy skirt covering her slender legs clad in white silk stockings, her fluffy fox tail swaying playfully from beneath the hem.
Her fair skin peeked through the neckline of the dress, and her large, bright eyes shyly glanced at Chen Yin.
“Young Master… does it look good?” she asked timidly.
Perfect. Exactly what he wanted.
Chen Yin gave her a thumbs-up.
He couldn’t resist picking her up and hugging her close, nuzzling his face against her soft fur.
“You’re so adorable.”
“If Young Master likes it… Luo Luo can wear it for you all the time,” Luo Luo whispered, her eyes closing contentedly.
Chen Yin ruffled her head. “Good girl. I have many other outfits. You can wear whatever you like.”
“Here, this is for you.”
He produced a lollipop from behind his back.
Chen Yin unwrapped the candy, and Luo Luo eagerly took a large bite.
Then, she happily licked the lollipop with her tongue.
For some reason, perhaps because Luo Luo looked especially adorable in the maid outfit, Chen Yin’s expression turned strange as he watched her eat.
Finally, he coughed lightly and turned his head away.
“Um… Luo Luo.”
“Hmm?” Luo Luo looked up at him curiously, the lollipop still in her mouth.
“Do you know what’s even sweeter than a lollipop?”
“What?”
“…A milk lollipop.”
Early the next morning, as Qingying was about to take her usual morning walk, the innkeeper stopped her, demanding compensation for the hole in the wall.
After reluctantly paying him, she glared at the second floor, where Chen Yin was still snoring away in his room.
“Wake up! Time to hit the road!”
“We have to reach the entrance of the Azure Cicada Ancient Domain tod—”
She opened the door and saw Chen Yin leaning against the headboard, looking refreshed.
Luo Luo was sleeping soundly in his arms, her face buried in the blankets, her lips smacking softly.
Qingying: “…Did you not sleep well last night?”
Chen Yin: “…I didn’t sleep at all.”
Someone gets addicted to candy. I won’t say who.
And he hadn’t realized how difficult it was to teach someone the proper way to eat a lollipop.
The mixture of pain and pleasure was truly indescribable.
“Let me sleep for a while longer. I’m exhausted.” Chen Yin yawned wearily.
Qingying glared at him with disdain. “But if we keep delaying, we might not even reach the Azure Cicada Ancient Domain today.”
“What’s the rush? That massive secret realm isn’t going anywhere.”
Chen Yin rolled over, pulling Luo Luo closer, and closed his eyes. “I’ll take a nap. We’ll talk about it this afternoon.”
Qingying gritted her teeth in frustration, then snorted coldly and slammed the door shut.
He finally managed to get a good night’s sleep, sleeping soundly until noon.
They had a quick lunch at the inn, then left the town.
Not long after their departure, a man carrying a strange-looking ancient sword arrived at the inn and inquired:
“Did two people and a fox stay here? Where did they go?”
“From what I heard, they seemed to be heading towards the Azure Cicada Ancient Domain.”
“The Azure Cicada Ancient Domain…” Ye Huang’s eyes narrowed, his gaze fixed on the east.
He recalled the events of last night—
Standing before a hidden chamber…
His eyes were dull and lifeless as he knelt on one knee, his sword planted firmly in the ground, waiting patiently.
He could hear muffled voices coming from inside, but he couldn’t make out what they were saying.
After a long wait, the door finally opened. A masked figure spoke to him in an androgynous and arrogant voice:
“By order of the Divine Son, you are to follow Chen Yin and his companions and assassinate them when the opportunity arises.”
“…But I’m no match for him.” Ye Huang said honestly.
“You don’t have to defeat him.”
A wisp of black energy materialized in the masked figure’s hand. “When you find an opportunity to attack, you won’t have to worry about the rest.”
Ye Huang frowned slightly, but the next moment, the black energy surged into his body through his crown.
He groaned, his face contorted in pain.
“Until then, you will be the host of this black energy.”
“Once the task is complete, you will receive three months’ worth of antidote for your daughter and three months of leave.” With that, the masked figure turned and returned to the chamber.
Ye Huang, his veins bulging, collapsed to the ground, drenched in sweat.
His eyes bulged, and he gasped for air, as if he were dying.
After more than half an hour, he finally leaned against the wall, exhausted, his eyes half-closed.
…Three months.
…Maybe this time, I can finally take Ling’er out for a decent meal.
The Azure Cicada Ancient Domain was located deep within the Wanxiang Mountain Range in the eastern region of the continent.
It was rumored to be the place where an ancient Immortal had ascended, leaving behind countless treasures and a hidden cave mansion.
Anyone, regardless of their cultivation level, could enter the Azure Cicada Ancient Domain.
But the only criterion for obtaining opportunities within the domain was luck. Even the most powerful cultivators could perish if they were careless or arrogant.
As cultivators grew stronger, they became more cautious and valued their lives. So, high-level cultivators rarely ventured into the Azure Cicada Ancient Domain anymore. Most cultivators only went there once in their lifetime.
If they couldn’t find any opportunities on their first visit, there was little chance they would find any on subsequent visits.
But even so, the Azure Cicada Ancient Domain remained one of the most popular secret realms in the cultivation world. Countless sects sent their disciples there in search of opportunities. If a disciple happened to stumble upon a great opportunity, it would be a huge boon for the sect.
Because of the large number of people entering the Azure Cicada Ancient Domain, a small town called Azure Cicada City had developed outside the domain, providing lodging and supplies for cultivators.
As night approached, Chen Yin, Luo Luo, and Qingying finally arrived at Azure Cicada City.
“We’re finally here.”
Upon arriving, Qingying’s demeanor changed noticeably.
She said impatiently, “The Azure Cicada Ancient Domain is right before us. Let’s go in—”
“Are you crazy, Sister? Entering a secret realm in the middle of the night?”
Chen Yin rolled his eyes at her. “We’ve been traveling for days. We need to rest and enter the domain tomorrow.”
“But we’re already here…”
Qingying bit her lip, her eyes filled with anxiety.
Chen Yin, for once, didn’t tease her. He said gently, “I know you’re eager to see your brother.”
“But the Azure Cicada Ancient Domain is more dangerous at night. It’s common knowledge. Is it worth risking your life just to save a few hours?”
“You’ve waited this long. One more night won’t make a difference.” He said softly.
Qingying lowered her head, her lips moving silently. After a long pause, she finally nodded.
“Let’s find a place to rest for the night.”
In towns catering to cultivators, inns and restaurants were abundant.
But for some reason, tonight, every inn Chen Yin visited was full. Finally, he found one with a vacancy, but only one room was left, and the innkeeper held up five fingers.
“500 spirit stones per night.”
“500?!” Chen Yin’s eyes widened. “Are you trying to rob me?”
“Young man, it’s peak season. The Azure Cicada Ancient Domain is radiating with auspicious light, indicating that many opportunities have appeared.”
The innkeeper said with a smile, “Almost every inn is fully booked. You’re lucky I even have one room left.”
“But aren’t all the people here cultivators? With such a high price, wouldn’t they just camp outside?”
“Most people would. However…”
He grinned, giving Chen Yin a knowing look. “You have female companions, young man.”
“Surely you wouldn’t want to camp outside and have everyone watch you… do things in the middle of the night, right?”
Chen Yin turned to Luo Luo, who blushed and lowered her head. Qingying, however, seemed distracted, not paying attention to their conversation.
Her mind was solely focused on entering the Azure Cicada Ancient Domain as soon as possible.
“You win.” Chen Yin gritted his teeth.
“Thank you for your patronage~” The innkeeper said with a chuckle.
