Chapter Fifty-Four p3
When Bo Chi opened her eyes, she had already prepared breakfast.
Smelling the aroma in the air, Bo Chi, who hadn’t eaten much last night, was immediately hungry. She put on her slippers and went into the bathroom.
Soon, she came out wearing casual clothes and said good morning to Yu Zhao.
Yu Zhao looked up and responded, and then realized something was wrong when she lowered her head. She looked up again and said in a daze: “Why are you wearing my clothes? No, how do you know where my clothes are?“
She had a habit of putting some clean clothes in the bathroom cabinet as a backup.
The set Bo Chi was wearing was the one she had just washed, and it still had a fresh scent, so she recognized at a glance where Bo Chi had taken it from.
Yu Zhao was very surprised. Bo Chi was speechless for a moment, couldn’t make up an excuse, and deliberately misinterpreted her meaning: “You are mine now, why can’t I wear your clothes?“
Yu Zhao turned her face away, a little embarrassed: “That’s not what I meant…“
“Then what do you mean?” Bo Chi didn’t let her answer, and asked instead: “Didn’t you want to sleep with me last night? Why did you go back on your word?“
Yu Zhao couldn’t help but defend herself: “I didn’t, it was CEO Bo, you fell asleep…“
How could Bo Chi misremember? She immediately shifted the blame to her: “So what if I fell asleep? Did it affect your performance? Anyway, you just didn’t listen! After we finish eating, you’re going out with me, and I’ll let you know how wise it is to follow me.“
Yu Zhao was a little reluctant: “I just got the script for ‘Rise of the Phoenix’, and I haven’t read it carefully yet.“
Bo Chi picked up the warm white porridge, took a sip, and said: “Read it tomorrow. You’re mine now, you should accompany me first, do you understand?“
Yu Zhao didn’t say anything, and could only nod helplessly in agreement.
At eight o’clock sharp, the phone rang on time. Xu Zhidie had already parked the car downstairs, waiting for them to come down.
Bo Chi dragged Yu Zhao downstairs, her face showing obvious joy.
Yu Zhao secretly looked at her, and couldn’t help but feel itchy. She asked curiously: “CEO Bo, where are you taking me?“
To an amusement park like on TV? Or to overlook the earth in a hot air balloon? Or even more extravagant, to have lunch on a private jet?
Yu Zhao had beautiful fantasies about their next destination.
Bo Chi gave her a mysterious smile at the right time, pushed her into the car, and deliberately kept it a secret, only saying: “You’ll know when we get there.“
The luxury car sped all the way, passing countless streets, and finally stopped in front of a villa in a villa area.
Monica had received the news in advance, and knew that they were coming. She was already waiting at the door.
As soon as Bo Chi got out of the car, she was hugged by her, and she heard her say with difficulty in her clumsy B province dialect: “Big shot, why do you have time to see me today? Have you eaten? I have Youbing, do you want to try it?“
Bo Chi pushed her away with difficulty, straightened her face, and said coldly: “I’m here to order a few dresses designed by you for my girlfriend. Don’t worry, money is not a problem.“
Monica burst into laughter: “Of course I know you don’t care about this little money – huh? Girlfriend?“
Her laughter stopped abruptly, her gaze falling on Yu Zhao, who was walking over, her eyes filled with confusion: “Are you, are you Songrui? Oh, why did you have plastic surgery? It looks quite natural and beautiful, where did you have the surgery?“
This was the second time Yu Zhao heard the name Ming Songrui.
Compared to the first time’s carelessness and indifference, she was much more sensitive this time, and frowned: “What do you mean? Isn’t Miss Ming CEO Bo’s friend? What does it have to do with me?“
Monica was about to speak when Bo Chi, who had come to her senses, interrupted directly: “This is my girlfriend, Yu Zhao, and she has nothing to do with Songrui. Monica, has your eyesight deteriorated to this extent?“
Monica shrugged: “That’s a bit hurtful, my sweet little darling. Okay, don’t stand at the door anymore. Whether she’s your girlfriend or friend, I think we should all go inside and sit down and rest now.“
She laughed heartily and led the way.
Yu Zhao took the opportunity to repeat the previous question: “Why would she think of me and Miss Ming together?“
Bo Chi knew that she would have to tell her about this sooner or later, and the more she hid it, the more trouble it would cause, so she said concisely: “My family and Songrui’s family are old friends, and I grew up with her. She and you look seven points alike. People who don’t know you might think you are biological sisters.“
Yu Zhao’s face gradually changed. She wasn’t stupid, but rather smart. Just hearing this, she guessed the general outline of the truth: “So you fell in love with me at first sight just because of my face, because I look like Ming Songrui?“
Her voice was a little unsteady, and she no longer called her Miss Ming one by one, but directly called her Ming Songrui.
Bo Chi heard that she was a little agitated, and hurriedly explained: “Didn’t I say? Only people who don’t know us think we look alike. In my eyes, you are much prettier than her!“
Yu Zhao’s expression changed, obviously not easily convinced, and there was still a thorn in her heart, doubting her initial thoughts and motives.
Bo Chi had to rack her brains and say: “Besides, she doesn’t like acting, and she’s not as obedient as you…“
Yu Zhao suddenly interrupted: “I’m not obedient.“
She raised her eyes, a stubborn look on her face, as if a hedgehog had turned over, no longer revealing its soft belly, but showing its prickly true self to everyone: “I’m not obedient, CEO Bo. If you want to find a substitute, I suggest you tell me clearly from the beginning, and I will naturally abide by the duties of a substitute, and play the role of Ming Songrui dutifully…“
“Enough!” Bo Chi really didn’t want to hear her belittling herself, and said word by word: “I’m making this clear to you today, I have never treated you as anyone’s substitute. I’m with you now only because you are Yu Zhao.“
Yu Zhao pursed her lips and looked straight at Bo Chi, as if trying to judge whether she was telling the truth or not.
Bo Chi looked back without flinching, confident and fearless.
Yu Zhao was the first to give in, looked away, her voice softened, put away her thorns, and became the little hedgehog revealing its belly again: “I understand.“
Since Bo Chi was willing to treat her sincerely, she naturally… would reciprocate.
After coaxing her suddenly bristling wife, Bo Chi’s eyes were filled with relief. After entering the house, she explained to her: “Mr. Ming’s birthday banquet is in a few days, and I have to appear on behalf of the Bo family. You are my girlfriend, so naturally you have to be my companion. Monica is very famous in fashion design, and the dresses she makes are not only luxurious and exquisite, but also very suitable for the wearer’s temperament. I’m going to customize a few for you, so that when the plays you act in are nominated for awards in the future, you can wear them to walk the red carpet.“
Yu Zhao didn’t expect her to care so much about her, even considering such a distant and uncertain event as winning an award. Her heart was warmed, and Yu Zhao put down the last trace of unease, and smiled gently at her.
Monica had her own ideas about design concepts. She quickly called Yu Zhao away, and began to observe Yu Zhao’s every move, and asked about various measurements.
Bo Chi and Xu Zhidie were drinking tea and chatting about company matters.
After finishing one thing after another, the two people over there were still discussing the clothing and fabric. Xu Zhidie suddenly raised her hand, looked at the time, and said to Bo Chi: “CEO Bo, you have an appointment tonight, and it’s almost time to leave. Do you want to postpone it or leave now?“
Bo Chi turned to look at Yu Zhao, saw the light in her eyes, and her happy look as she flipped through the dresses, so she stood up and said: “Leave now, but you stay. If Yu Zhao can’t find me later, tell her that I’ll be home a little late. By the way, remember to drive her home. Some of the streetlights in her neighborhood are broken, and I’m not at ease letting her walk alone.“
Xu Zhidie was silent for a moment, and suddenly said, her tone filled with inexplicable emotions: “So you can be so attentive when you care about someone.“
Even if that person was just a substitute, she could still be so attentive.
Bo Chi was originally worried that she would find her nagging annoying, and thus discover the difference between her and the original owner. Now hearing this, she immediately felt that it was a good excuse, and curled her lips: “If you fall in love, you will naturally change for her.“
Xu Zhidie: “Oh, so you already slept with her last night.“
Bo Chi’s expression cracked: “???”
Wait, that wasn’t what she meant!
Without giving Bo Chi a chance to explain, Xu Zhidie said neatly: “I understand, don’t worry, I will definitely take good care of Miss Yu.“
It would be strange to explain at this time, and it would seem like she was trying to cover something up, so Bo Chi could only swallow her words and leave with a wooden face.
After she left, Monica and Yu Zhao continued to chat, and only Xu Zhidie sat quietly on the sofa.
Xu Zhidie held the black tea in a daze, not knowing what she was thinking. It wasn’t until the tea gradually cooled down that her eyes became clear. She took out her phone, lowered her eyes, and sent a message to Ming Songrui, who was abroad: [CEO Bo is in a relationship with a girl recently.]
The message was sent successfully, and Xu Zhidie closed her eyes.
She didn’t tell Ming Songrui that the girl looked very much like her, and she didn’t understand why she sent this message.
She just instinctively felt her emotions churning, her chest filled with a strong and lingering unknown emotion, and she desperately wanted to do something, to shatter Bo Chi’s ‘deep affection’ mask, and let the other party return to her previous cold and indifferent appearance, with only work in her eyes, and… only her by her side.
The author has something to say:
Yu Zhao: Do you want to eat me or the ribs?
Bo Chi: Of course it’s you – the ribs you made!
Yu Zhao: ?
