Chapter Forty-Three
A question mark popped up above Bo Chi’s head. Thinking that her words had caused Yu Zhao to misunderstand, she hurriedly said: “Who said I only care about this? Even if we weren’t sisters, but just nodding acquaintances, we can’t just casually kiss to feed medicine!”
Wasn’t that a lecherous pervert?
Yu Zhao pretended to be surprised: “Can’t we? Doesn’t sister like me? Could it be that sister dislikes me, so she wants to use this method to deceive my body and heart?”
Speaking of this, her pressing tone suddenly softened, and she approached Bo Chi with tears in her eyes, looking aggrieved, but firmly pressed Bo Chi against the wall, trapping the inescapable Bo Chi in her arms: “Sister is so cruel, knowing that I’ve always longed for someone who loves me…”
Bo Chi panicked and denied three times: “I’m not, I didn’t, when did I say I like you?”
Yu Zhao’s eyes swirled, and she said innocently: “In your dream. Sister kept calling my name, saying over and over again that she liked me, and also said don’t, mmm, be gentle…”
Bo Chi’s expression cracked, ignoring the distance between them, she immediately raised her hand to cover her mouth in shame, and said in a broken voice: “Did I really say that? But I haven’t had any erotic dreams recently!”
Yu Zhao looked at her with a smile, not feeling any shame for adding fuel to the fire, but feeling a bit of pleasure for successfully testing her: “So sister’s feelings for me… are really like this.”
Bo Chi whimpered, covered her flushed and burning cheeks, and said tearfully: “Please stop talking.”
It was already embarrassing enough to be discovered by her little sister that she had an erotic dream, but the two protagonists in the dream were themselves. This was more than just an embarrassing thing that could be solved by hiding in a hole, it was simply a suffocating scene that couldn’t be erased even if she moved to Mars overnight.
Bo Chi put on a mask of pain, covered her head with the quilt, and tried to escape reality: “Dreams are the opposite, I don’t like you!”
Yu Zhao blinked, her tone full of disappointment: “Then I can’t feed sister medicine?”
“Of course not!” Bo Chi poked her head out, snatched the medicine from her hand, gritted her teeth and swallowed it in one gulp.
Seeing that she was choking, Yu Zhao considerately handed her hot water and gently patted her back.
Bo Chi calmed down, and continued what she was saying, saying earnestly: “You’re still young now, you don’t understand anything, and it’s not time for you to understand yet. When you grow up, it will be too late to come into contact with these things.”
Yu Zhao raised her eyebrows, opened her mouth to say something, but after pondering for a moment, she swallowed it back, and changed her words with a smile: “Sister is right, Ah Zhao will listen to sister.”
Bo Chi was immediately coaxed into relaxing, and smiled along with her.
Her face was still flushed, her long black hair lay flat against her face, and her delicate features were like a life-size doll, easily attracting the attention and peeping of both men and women.
When Yu Zhao lived with her grandmother when she was young, she was always envious when she saw others dressing up and combing the hair of beautiful and cute dolls. When she grew older and earned money by working, she never bought one for herself because of her livelihood and future – even though this was her only dream and wish when she was young.
After many years, the environment changed, and she thought that she had long abandoned those childish thoughts from her childhood. It wasn’t until this moment, when she saw the living Bo Chi, who blinked and whose every move made her heart palpitate, that she slowly realized that her wish had never changed.
She longed to have her own little princess doll.
“Yu Zhao? Yu Zhao?” Bo Chi was a little uncomfortable with Yu Zhao’s gradually deepening gaze, touched her arm and whispered: “I’ve taken the medicine, and I’m going to sleep for a while. You go out first, don’t always stay by my side, or what if you catch my cold?”
Yu Zhao came back to her senses and said with a smile: “Sister is so good to me. After hearing what sister said, I want to stay even more. Maybe after I catch your cold, sister will recover immediately.”
Bo Chi shrank back into the quilt little by little, her voice soft and nasal: “What are you thinking? Does a cold care about face? It’s still discussing with you…”
Her voice weakened, her thick and long eyelashes trembling like butterfly wings, looking like she was too sleepy to open her eyes, but still trying to talk to Yu Zhao.
Yu Zhao’s heart softened unconsciously, and her tone became gentle: “Okay, I won’t say anymore, you go to sleep.”
Bo Chi hummed, and reminded again in a daze: “Remember to go out…”
The effect of the cold medicine kicked in, and she quickly fell asleep.
Yu Zhao sat there without moving, looking down at her face.
When she first learned that Bo Chi liked her, Yu Zhao had the idea of using the other party. After all, she had nothing, and if she wanted to get something, she had to seize every opportunity.
But when she deliberately approached Bo Chi, all her calculations became useless, and she unconsciously interacted with the other party with genuine feelings, as if instinctively wanting to show her softest side to the other party.
Yu Zhao couldn’t understand, and could only mock herself for being too lacking in love.
Bo Chi had been making things difficult for her before, but now that she had shown a good face, she was the first to fall head over heels in love.
It was really useless.
Yu Zhao sighed in her heart, stopped thinking about it, tucked Bo Chi in, and carried the breakfast downstairs, putting it in the kitchen to keep warm, so that Bo Chi could eat something warm immediately after waking up.
Her actions were seen by Father and Mother Bo. While she wasn’t paying attention, Mother Bo nudged Father Bo and whispered: “Did Zhao Zhao care so much about Chi-Chi before?”
Father Bo thought for a while: “It seems not, but Chi-Chi has always disliked Ah Zhao, and Ah Zhao was also timid and a little afraid of us. Now that the two sisters are familiar with each other, they naturally become close.”
Mother Bo frowned. Perhaps it was because she had been confessed to by her best friend before, she was particularly sensitive to this kind of thing, and could vaguely sense something from Yu Zhao’s gaze at Bo Chi.
But she was still not sure, and didn’t want to embarrass the two daughters, so after hesitating, she pulled Yu Zhao to sit down, and softly talked about the marriage that every child couldn’t escape: “Your sister is not young anymore, she’s already a twenty-year-old girl, and after a few years of dating, it’s time for her to get married. I see that you have a good relationship with her recently, what kind of boy do you think she likes?”
Yu Zhao didn’t expect Mother Bo to suddenly ask this, her expression froze for a while, and then she slowly said: “Sister hasn’t mentioned this kind of private matter to me, Mom, it’s better to ask sister directly.”
Mother Bo stared at her: “What she thinks is one thing, what you think is suitable for her is another.”
Yu Zhao pursed her lips and didn’t speak.
Mother Bo’s heart skipped a beat, and her bad feeling became stronger and stronger. It was originally just a tentative question, but Yu Zhao would rather not answer than say anything casually, which immediately increased her doubts.
What was even more helpless was that both daughters were the apples of her eye. One was the beloved daughter she had doted on for more than ten years, and the other was her biological daughter who had suffered outside and worked at a young age. They were both her flesh and blood, and she couldn’t even say a harsh word, let alone ask sharply.
After thinking about it, Mother Bo gave up on starting with Yu Zhao.
Compared to Yu Zhao, who had struggled since childhood, the pampered Bo Chi was obviously more innocent.
In the evening, hearing that Bo Chi had woken up, Mother Bo went upstairs to find her, but bumped into Yu Zhao on the stairs, who was going downstairs to the kitchen to get dinner for Bo Chi.
Yu Zhao’s expression didn’t change, as if she didn’t take the morning conversation to heart.
Mother Bo looked at her a few more times, and suddenly found that her timid little daughter was actually a good material for business. At least, this calm demeanor was very suitable for business work.
With this rising thought, she entered Bo Chi’s room, and when she saw Bo Chi huddled in the quilt with her long hair loose, her cheeks flushed with an unnatural blush, she suddenly felt distressed: “Why did you catch a cold? Did you not close the window when you slept at night?”
Bo Chi whispered guiltily: “I forgot at first, and then Yu Zhao came to my room and helped me close it.”
Speaking of this, Mother Bo suddenly remembered her purpose, frowned and said: “You and Zhao Zhao have always been at odds, how come you’re so close after half a month? Sleeping together is fine, but why are you so, so close?”
She spoke tactfully, so that Bo Chi didn’t get her implied meaning at all, and said foolishly: “Isn’t it normal for sisters to be close?”
Mother Bo looked at her suspiciously: “Do you really treat her as your sister?”
Bo Chi nodded as a matter of course: “Of course, although I was a little bit of a jerk before, and often bullied Yu Zhao, but in my heart, she has always been my cutest little sister!”
Mother Bo: “…”
What was going on?
She felt that although Chi-Chi answered, her answer seemed completely irrelevant…
Mother Bo looked at Bo Chi for a while, and finally gave up under Bo Chi’s confused gaze, and said: “Since you treat her as your sister, then go on a blind date this weekend.”
Bo Chi’s happy expression froze, and she said in confusion: “How did these two things connect?!”
Mother Bo narrowed her eyes: “You don’t want to go on a blind date?”
Bo Chi nodded hurriedly.
Mother Bo asked: “Why? Do you have someone you like? The blind date I arranged for you is the Xiang family’s child. I heard that many girls like him, are you sure you don’t want to go and see?”
Bo Chi was about to firmly refuse, but when she heard the Xiang family, she was stunned: “Is it Xiang Jin?”
Mother Bo nodded: “Yes, the Xiang family and our family have always had a good relationship. When I took you to his house when you were young, you said you wanted to marry Xiang Jin. Now I’m creating an opportunity for you, do you want to go?”
Bo Chi’s focus was not on the blind date, but on other things: “When is the blind date?”
Seeing that she even asked about the date, Mother Bo couldn’t help but chuckle: “Any day is fine, Xiang Jin said that he’s willing to let you choose.”
Bo Chi’s eyes lit up: “Then next Wednesday!”
In the plot, next Wednesday was the day when Xiang Jin’s cruise ship capsized and he accidentally fell into the sea. Since she had decided not to stand by and watch him die, she might as well set the blind date on that day, so she could kill two birds with one stone!
Mother Bo didn’t object, and agreed to the date with a smile, then stood up and said: “Then I’ll go and tell the Xiang family, don’t change your mind on that day.”
“I won’t.” Bo Chi said firmly: “I’m ready.”
Mother Bo nodded with relief, suppressing her previous doubts.
Whether Yu Zhao had that kind of thought or not was hard to say, but judging from Bo Chi’s happy appearance, she was definitely not someone who had that kind of thought for her sister.
Mother Bo was slightly relieved, opened the door and stepped out, but bumped into Yu Zhao, who was standing outside the door.
She was stunned, and asked as if by a ghost: “Did you hear everything?”
The author has something to say:
Mother Bo: I have to find a way to separate them.
Yu Zhao (smiling): I’m not here to break up this family, I’m here to join you.
