I, The Man Who’ll Conquer Both the Immortal Venerable and the Demon Empress 40

Chapter 40: The Unfettered Demon’s Boundless Art

Seen from the front, Su Mei’s red veil, layered across her chest, was less revealing than from behind.

Even so, her alluring curves, the glimpse of fair skin between the layers of the veil, and the hint of her breasts were incredibly enticing. And knowing she wore nothing beneath the veil only heightened the temptation.

Shi Hao quickly collected himself. This witch, while making a wager with him, was deliberately trying to distract him.

Only now did he get a good look at her “clothing.”

It was barely clothing at all, just a finely woven piece of gauze, draped over her arms like sleeves, the lower part wrapped around her chest and secured with a sash.

If the sash came loose, the pink “robe” would fall away.

Shi Hao could barely withstand the temptation, his nose almost bleeding.

“Listen carefully!” Su Mei giggled, spinning around. Although she had moved away from him, her graceful movements, the swirling veil, and the glimpses of her body made it difficult for him to focus.

Thanks to the Sacred Heart Clear Mirror Technique taught by the Holy Jade Immortal, although he couldn’t entirely resist her allure, he managed to calm himself enough to hear the martial arts manual she recited in her melodious voice.

Shi Hao closed his eyes, forcing himself not to look at her.

Su Mei’s voice changed, sometimes loud and clear, sometimes soft and whispering, occasionally like a breathy moan, fueling his imagination.

He knew she was deliberately trying to distract him, but this time, he remained unmoved.

He focused intently, memorizing every word, every sentence.

Gradually, his mind became completely still, undisturbed by her antics, only the technique she was teaching imprinted in his memory.

Su Mei finished reciting the Unfettered Demon’s Boundless Art, quickly explained it, and then stopped.

Shi Hao was completely absorbed in the new technique, lost in his own world.

Like the Gathering Essence Flowing Pearl Technique taught by the Holy Jade Immortal, which required a seventh-rank Daoist foundation, this Unfettered Demon’s Boundless Art also built upon the seventh-rank demonic foundation formed by merging the Azure Origin Demonic Source and the Mysterious Charm Technique.

But it was completely different from the Gathering Essence Flowing Pearl Technique, which allowed true energy to flow freely like water, enabling external projection.

The Unfettered Demon’s Boundless Art, however, caused his demonic energy to swirl within him, forming a mysterious, impenetrable vortex, a black hole in his dantian.

He didn’t know the specific applications of this technique, but its profound and bizarre nature hinted at its extraordinary power.

Time seemed to stop as the demonic energy gathered within him, swirling around his lower dantian.

His lower dantian, devoid of any energy, gradually formed a mysterious void.

When the demonic energy and the Gathering Essence Flowing Pearl true energy reached a delicate balance within him, he exhaled slowly and opened his eyes.

He saw Su Mei sitting on a stool before him, her right leg crossed over her left, her elbow resting on her knee, her chin in her hand, pouting slightly.

Shi Hao whispered, “Did I exceed the time limit?” He had no idea how long he had been cultivating.

He had been completely absorbed in the process.

Su Mei pouted and said, “No, or rather, you still have over half an hour left.”

She said thoughtfully, “Although you claimed your rapid mastery of the Mysterious Charm Technique and the Immortal Ice Technique was due to their complementary nature, it seems your talent and focus also played a significant role.

“You said you could cultivate even while walking and sleeping, but if you didn’t have the determination and focus to succeed, how could you have maintained continuous cultivation for over twenty days without interruption?”

She glanced at him, a mixture of annoyance and excitement in her eyes, “It seems we’ve truly found a treasure.”

Shi Hao asked softly, “Why do you seem displeased, wife?”

Su Mei said, pouting, “Don’t worry about it.”

Shi Hao said, “I still want to know.”

Su Mei waved her hand dismissively, “No, no, it’s nothing.”

Shi Hao said, “I really want to worry about it.”

Su Mei jumped up, hands on her hips, “I didn’t expect you, usually so cautious and reserved, to be so smug and complacent!”

“No, no, not at all,” Shi Hao stood up from the bed, stretched, and smiled, “Didn’t you say you would give me a reward?”

Su Mei’s eyes flickered, and she floated aside, “Come, sit here.”

Unsure of what she was doing, Shi Hao let her lead him to a round, three-legged white jade stool.

Su Mei’s pink sleeves fluttered as she moved behind him, massaging his shoulders and back, much to his surprise.

“I have one more question for you, and you must answer truthfully,” Su Mei stopped, her face close to his ear, “What exactly did you do to that Du Yuejiao girl?”

Shi Hao hesitated, “That…”

Su Mei chuckled, “Although you recounted the general events, you glossed over that part. It doesn’t sound entirely truthful.”

“You captured her, tortured her, and when that didn’t work, you changed your appearance and rescued her, and she just… believed you? It can’t be that simple.”

“If you hadn’t completely crushed her hope and then offered her a glimmer of light, how could she have trusted you so easily? How could she have revealed such important information just because she believed you? She clearly has feelings for you.”

Shi Hao stammered, “I…”

Su Mei gently kissed his ear, “I can’t be wrong. Ye Zi Yin is worried I’ll corrupt you, but I don’t need to do anything. Because, you and I… are truly kindred spirits.”

Shi Hao whispered, “I only did it for the sake of China. I had to obtain the information about the God-Sealing Stones. The consequences would have been dire otherwise. I believe even Sister Zi Yin… would have made a similar decision.”

Su Mei chuckled, “Sister Zi Yin? You’re saying that so softly. Are you trying to convince me, or yourself? Are you afraid that if you don’t defend yourself, even you’ll start to doubt your own motives?”

Shi Hao said, “I…”

Su Mei continued massaging his back, giggling, “You don’t need to explain! I’m not trying to make you feel guilty; I’m not that petty. I just want you to tell me what methods you used, how you treated her.”

“Don’t worry, I’m not like that self-righteous woman. This is a technical discussion.”

Shi Hao pondered her words – “technical discussion.”

Since she had asked, he decided not to hide anything.

Or rather, there was no point in hiding anything from this witch.

He began to explain how he had used the Severing Meridian Burning Heart Finger to torture her for two nights without success.

How he had used the defanged snakes to frighten her, and how he had used the small torture instruments to humiliate her.

Su Mei, seemingly fascinated, asked repeatedly about every detail, not letting him skip anything.

Shi Hao sighed, “I thought that after all that, she would break and tell me everything. But she didn’t say a word. I had no choice but to change my methods, although it was a risky move.”

Su Mei smiled, “Do you know where you went wrong?”

Shi Hao shook his head, “I’m not sure. Perhaps her will is just too strong…”

Su Mei shook her head, “If her will was that strong, how could she have become so broken? And how could she have been so easily swayed by you, revealing everything in your arms?”

She embraced him from behind, her face close to his, and whispered, “You used the wrong methods.”

Her breath on his cheek, her alluring presence, made him want to turn and embrace her.

Su Mei whispered, “You started by torturing her physically, but she’s a martial artist. Although her talent pales in comparison to a genius like me, she’s been training since childhood.”

“You captured her in her training grounds. If she’s the type who diligently practices every day, no matter how pampered she might seem, she can endure pain and hardship. You underestimated her if you thought you could break her with physical torture.”

“People like her, self-righteous and virtuous, believe they’re noble and possess unwavering moral principles. The more you try to intimidate and humiliate them, the more they feel like martyrs, persecuted for their righteousness. Even if they can’t withstand the pain, their inner strength will make them endure, refusing to yield.”

“And when they truly embrace death, what else can they fear?”

“Hee hee, in the end, she’s just a naive Daoist prude who hasn’t seen much of the world or experienced true hardship, and you almost turned her into a hero sacrificing herself for a ‘greater cause.’”

As a demonic witch, she despised the hypocrisy of the Daoist sects, and her words, “Daoist prude,” were spoken with disdain and contempt.

However, after some thought, Shi Hao had to admit she had a point.

“At least you were smart enough to change your tactics,” Su Mei chuckled. “Like a drowning person clinging to a piece of driftwood, you became her beacon of hope in the darkness. But that method is too time-consuming, and too boring.”

Shi Hao asked, puzzled, “Boring?”

He understood what she meant by “time-consuming.” The entire process had been convoluted, and he himself hadn’t been very hopeful.

Fortunately, Du Yuejiao wasn’t very clever.

But he didn’t understand what she meant by “boring.”

Although he was reluctant to admit it, he had actually found it… quite interesting.

Su Mei’s hands slid down his shoulders, her delicate fingers tracing his skin, “You used the Severing Meridian Burning Heart Finger I taught you for interrogation. That’s… creative. But do you know there’s another way to use it?”

Shi Hao felt her fingers gliding across his skin.

Although she wasn’t touching any sensitive areas, he felt a sudden heat surging through him, his mouth dry, his body reacting involuntarily.

Su Mei’s voice was soft, and she smiled faintly, “Physical stimulation doesn’t just cause pain; it can also bring pleasure. Excitement, pain, joy, tremors… these sensations can all be elicited through physical stimulation.”

Shi Hao said, “Wife, stop… stop…” He felt he was losing control.

Su Mei whispered in his ear, “This applies to both men and women. Weakening the Severing Meridian Burning Heart Finger into a gentle, almost harmless stimulation and applying it to specific acupoints can produce unexpected results.”

“Don’t think humans are somehow superior to other animals. We’re all living beings, and procreation is an instinctual drive.”

“This instinct can override all rational thought.”

“With enough stimulation, even the strongest human will become a beast driven by primal urges. The body is the master, the mind the servant. Against the wildness of the body, the mind is weak.”

Shi Hao felt her fingertips, like tiny electric shocks, moving across his skin. He was drowning in a wave of sensation.

He knew he shouldn’t lose control, yet he craved more, more. He grabbed her hand, gasping, “Stop… stop…”

If this continued, he would become a wild beast, unable to resist the urge to turn and overpower her… but he was no match for her!

Su Mei stopped and whispered, “Whether man or woman, although our bodies are different, the underlying principles are the same. This technique is called the Butterfly Flower Finger. Once you master it, few women can resist it.

“For those self-righteous Daoist prudes, you have to break down their defenses, make them cry out in ecstasy, begging for more, make them realize they’re not some high and mighty immortals.”

“You have to make them realize they’re even worse than brothel girls. At least those girls are poor and forced into prostitution. But these Daoist women…”

She whispered in his ear, giggling, “They’re just self-righteous, despicable whores!”

Welp, already guessed it before, but this MC is gonna be quite moraly gray. Lets hope he just doesn’t become radical. Both these women are far too radical.

This whole story is a mess of moral ambiguity. It’s quite well written and intriguing, exploring both social issues and complex characters. The MC has a working moral compass, so he’s relatively easy to sympathise with, but he’s adaptable and willing to use questionable means for a good cause, as long as it doesn’t cross his bottom line. His manipulation of Yuejiao and the use of sinful souls for his demonic cultivation are two good examples of this.
