Chapter 11: Reasoning in the Apocalypse?
This was the first time An Bai had witnessed Tang Ze’s fighting prowess, and she was deeply shocked. Her previous worries and fears gradually disappeared, replaced by a confident and docile smile that slowly surfaced on her beautiful face.
Tang Ze sat on the hood of a car, with Sun Ting and An Bai perched on the ground on either side of him, their alluring bodies pressed against his legs, wearing expressions of contented pleasure.
This was undoubtedly a stab in the heart for the other men present. In the apocalypse, finding a clean woman was difficult, yet here he was with two, and they were so cooperative. Their expressions didn’t seem feigned either.
Tang Ze gently stroked the two women’s heads. “Just a small interlude. Weren’t we having a meeting? Let’s continue.”
Dong Fei narrowed his eyes, looking at the saber in Tang Ze’s hand, calculating. The key question was whether Tang Ze had a gun.
Dong Fei smiled, adjusted his glasses, and said, “Let’s continue then. Let’s summarize the incidents of someone impersonating the gunman these past few days. By the way, do you have a gun?”
Tang Ze raised an eyebrow and chuckled. “I’m a law-abiding citizen. How could I have something like that?”
Dong Fei was slightly relieved. It seemed this delivery guy really didn’t have a gun. If he did, he would have taken it out now to intimidate everyone.
Tang Ze knew this, but he was all about having fun.
I’ve worked my whole life, can’t I just let loose and have some fun now?
“And about the supplies, we’ll organize a group outing in a few days. Considering your saber skills, how about joining us?”
“Not interested.”
Tang Ze said casually, playing with Sun Ting’s hair.
Dong Fei sensed the change in the expressions of the men around him. This delivery guy was challenging his authority. If he didn’t assert himself, they would lose their fear of him.
“So it seems you have quite a stockpile at home.”
His words made everyone look at Tang Ze. Beautiful women, food, and water; his life was better than before the apocalypse. They were envious, jealous!
“Indeed, quite a bit. Otherwise, how would I support them?”
Tang Ze pinched the cheeks of the two women, and they moaned comfortably.
A skinny fat man nearby immediately said, “Damn, why didn’t you say so earlier? Having supplies and not sharing with your neighbors, how selfish!”
“I’m telling you now, aren’t I?”
“Then share!”
“Come and take it.”
Tang Ze laughed. Share with you? My foot.
The skinny fat man hesitated, looking at the horse-slaying saber tucked against An Bai’s chest, and the two halves of the corpse. He backed down.
Tang Ze spread his hands and shrugged. “Since you’re not taking it, I’ll kill you then.”
He flicked a sharp throwing knife. The fat man stood frozen, while a man behind him slowly collapsed, a throwing knife embedded in his forehead. It was the man who had offered three bottles of water for An Bai earlier.
“Uh, a little awkward. But give me another chance, I guarantee I won’t miss.”
Tang Ze smiled and pulled out another throwing knife. Everyone around him was terrified. He killed while talking and laughing, something even Dong Fei couldn’t do.
The skinny fat man immediately knelt on the ground, urine flowing down his legs. “Bro, I mean, Big Brother, I was just kidding.”
“I never joke.”
Tang Ze smiled. This time, the throwing knife landed squarely in the fat man’s forehead.
Seeing the silence around him, Tang Ze lit a cigarette and exhaled a smoke ring. “Anyone else want to try and take it? If you can, everything I have is yours, including my big kitties.”
“Meow~”
However, no one dared to move. They all looked at Dong Fei with hopeful eyes. Dong Fei knew that if he didn’t do something, his authority would vanish after tonight.
“This brother, you’re impressive.”
Dong Fei gave a thumbs-up.
Tang Ze accepted the compliment readily.
“But you may not know, the flight attendant beside you, her boyfriend has already sold her ownership to me.”
Dong Fei looked at An Bai.
An Bai’s heart trembled. She hadn’t expected Ning Gu to sell her outright. He had said it was just to accompany them daily.
She wanted to rush over to Ning Gu’s corpse and stab it a few more times.
Tang Ze nodded. “Really? I didn’t know. Call her boyfriend out here.”
Dong Fei’s lips twitched. Where would he find him? He was probably already dead by Tang Ze’s hand.
Dong Fei took out a piece of paper. “This is the sales contract written by her boyfriend.”
“Who knows if you wrote it yourself.”
Tang Ze scoffed.
“It also has her boyfriend’s fingerprint.”
Dong Fei pointed to the bright red fingerprint. It wasn’t the red of an ink pad, but of blood.
Tang Ze shrugged. “Then how can you prove this fingerprint is her boyfriend’s? I think we need to find an institution to verify it.”
Dong Fei’s hands trembled with anger. He said coldly, “I’m trying to reason with you! Don’t push me!”
“It’s the apocalypse, who reasons anymore? Hahaha.”
Tang Ze couldn’t help but laugh.
Ding Feng and his men, peeking through the rolling shutter of Building Four, also burst into laughter. They felt that Dong Fei was finished, being played like this.
“You’re toying with me!”
Dong Fei took off his glasses and roared.
Tang Ze lifted the chins of the two women, laughing. “He actually doesn’t know I’m toying with him.”
The two women couldn’t help but giggle.
These words instantly made Dong Fei lose his reason. “Kill him! One case of mineral water, no! Two cases of mineral water, plus ten packs of beef jerky! Ten self-heating hotpots! Twenty packs of instant noodles!”
He was sparing no expense.
Under such a reward, there would always be brave men. Even Dong Fei’s own men picked up their knives and started to approach.
Tang Ze stood up, pulled the horse-slaying saber from An Bai’s chest, stretched his neck, and began the slaughter!
With a single leap and slash, he cut Dong Fei’s strategist in two. With a flick of his wrist, he then thrust upwards.
“Ah!”
A man screamed in agony, his intestines spilling from his groin.
Just two moves scared everyone else from approaching, but Tang Ze charged in again, saber in hand.
“Grab those two women!”
Dong Fei yelled. Perhaps capturing the women could control this delivery guy. How could a mere delivery guy be so strong? Was he from Shaolin Temple?
Sure enough, a few foolhardy men rushed toward the women, but Sun Ting and An Bai didn’t try to escape, standing still to be captured.
Just as a hand was about to grab An Bai’s arm, a throwing knife pierced his forehead. Tang Ze, standing a short distance away, said coldly, “Touching my food supply is worse than touching me.”
The two women had been scared, but seeing the man fall, they realized their worries were unnecessary. Both clenched their fists and meowed at Tang Ze.
Anyone who approached the women was hit in the forehead by Tang Ze’s throwing knives. He had practiced at home; those weren’t misses. He thought he should find a chance to practice his gun skills too.
Soon, four men lay dead around the two women. Now, no one dared to approach.
