Chapter 228: Big Sister is So Cool
This conflict originally had nothing to do with Violet.
But she harbored a deep resentment towards both the Holy See and the Church of the Earth Mother Goddess. After all, it was the Holy See that had destroyed the Church of the Storm Lord, and the Church of the Earth Mother Goddess were the traitors who had betrayed them.
Only because Qin Chu had instructed her not to act rashly against the Church without a good reason had she been holding back.
But now, wasn’t this the perfect opportunity?
She was merely intervening to prevent a large-scale conflict between humans, a noble and selfless act.
What a perfect excuse.
Although her methods were a bit crude, Violet believed that in this tense situation, only decisive action could prevent things from escalating.
So, just like Karsus before him, O’Niens found himself beneath Violet’s foot.
Literally.
After slamming him to the ground, she placed her delicate foot on the back of his head.
O’Niens’s face was pressed against the earth, perhaps the most intimate contact he had ever had with it.
Dirt and grit filled his eyes, nose, and mouth, the sharp particles cutting into his delicate skin.
But the physical pain was nothing compared to the mental anguish.
He was the Saint Son! When had he ever been so humiliated, his head trampled beneath the foot of some unknown woman?
And this damned bitch even called him dog shit!
This was an unprecedented humiliation, far worse than death itself.
He writhed on the ground like a worm, guttural growls escaping his throat, his limbs flailing uselessly.
Even Karsus, the Death Knight, had been helpless beneath her foot. What made O’Niens think he could resist?
Karsus was a true Titled Knight. O’Niens, at level 79, although only one level away, was still vastly inferior.
Even with the Evil God’s thread amplifying his power and making him more aggressive, he hadn’t undergone a significant transformation like Karsus. Escaping from Violet’s foot was impossible.
The surrounding clerics exchanged uneasy glances, no one daring to interfere.
Carol frowned.
Loseweisse glared at Violet with hatred and resentment.
She had intended to be the mediator, to gain the soldiers’ support and expand her influence, but Violet had stolen her thunder.
That damned bitch, she cursed inwardly.
Qin Chu and those around him always seemed to be deliberately thwarting her plans.
The soldiers, however, looked at Violet with gratitude.
When they had been humiliated, they had been prepared to fight to the death.
Although they were numerous, they were mostly untrained commoners, armed with rusty weapons and fueled only by their courage and experience against the Demon Beasts.
And their opponents were trained clerics.
But even if it meant death, they would defend their dignity. This was the first time they had even considered the concept of dignity, the first time they wanted to live like human beings.
The members of the royal family and the Holy See just watched, only the Hero’s companions willing to stand up for them.
They would remember this gratitude.
The soldiers’ gazes made Loseweisse even more uncomfortable. This was the adoration she should have been receiving… However, if Violet’s humiliation of the Saint Son caused a rift between Qin Chu and the Church of the Earth Mother Goddess, that wouldn’t be so bad.
Violet looked down at the struggling O’Niens, a mocking smile on her lips. “Saint Son,” she said, her voice dripping with sarcasm, “is that what a Saint Son looks like? Groveling in the dirt?”
“I thought the Saint Son of the Church of the Earth Mother Goddess would be more impressive. But you’re so weak.”
“How can you even call yourself a Saint Son? You’ve enjoyed endless resources and the best training since birth. Even a pig could become a Titled Knight with such advantages.”
“But you, O’Niens, son of the former Holy Maiden, at your age, you’re only level 79…”
“And you still think you’re something special? You dare to act so arrogantly, to look down on others?”
“You’re not even as good as a pig. Where do you get your courage?”
Who would have thought that the usually gentle and smiling Violet could be so vicious with her words?
Her words stripped away O’Niens’s arrogant facade, forcing him to confront the brutal truth.
He thought he was a genius, but he was just an idiot.
He thought he was powerful, but compared to true strength, he was no better than an ant.
“If it weren’t for your mother, the former Holy Maiden… you’re nothing.”
“You’re worse than dog shit. At least I wouldn’t step on dog shit.”
Violet’s humiliation of O’Niens was a balm to the souls of the surrounding soldiers, who had long despised him.
He deserved it.
This arrogant Saint Son would never have imagined that he would suffer such humiliation.
Boom… Crack!
The most brutal reality crashed down on him.
O’Niens froze.
Everything he had, his strength, his status, the respect and admiration of others, was only because of his mother, not because of anything he had achieved himself?
For the proud O’Niens, this was the most unbearable truth.
No… This isn’t true, this can’t be true.
He struggled desperately, like a madman, and actually managed to lift his head slightly, his bloodshot eyes glaring at Violet, his bloody face contorted.
“Shut up, you bitch!”
“Did Qin Chu tell you to do this?”
“Bastard, I won’t let you go! I won’t let him go!”
“I am the Saint Son of the Church of the Earth Mother Goddess! The Church won’t let you go! My mother won’t forgive you! Just you wait…!”
O’Niens was completely enraged, his words becoming incoherent.
But Violet didn’t care. A mocking smile played on her lips. “It’s okay,” she said, “Bring your mother, bring Saint Monique, I’ll take you all on.”
Then she pressed her foot down harder.
Bang!
She ground his face into the dirt.
At this moment, Inas, hearing the commotion, stopped her cultivation and emerged from her tent. She saw O’Niens being trampled underfoot.
Her body trembled violently.
Obey him, protect him, follow his will.
A voice echoed in the depths of her mind.
The next second, she lunged towards Violet like a hunting leopard, screaming, “Let go of the Saint Son!”
Inas was much stronger than O’Niens.
She was a true dual expert, both a Grand Mage and a Titled Knight.
She appeared behind Violet in a flash, her fingers transformed into sharp claws, aiming for her heart.
Unfortunately, although Inas was a dual expert, she had only just reached that level. Her strength, while considerable, was still limited.
And Violet didn’t even bother turning her head. Before Inas could even react, her wrist was caught in Violet’s grip, her struggles useless.
The next second, with a whoosh, Inas was thrown like a rag doll, her body crashing to the ground with a thud, creating a small crater.
The impact sent the surrounding clerics and soldiers stumbling backwards.
Inas felt as if her bones were shattered, her body writhing in pain, blood trickling from her lips.
She finally realized that this seemingly gentle woman, who rarely spoke, was far more terrifying than Ekaterina, Sylph, and the other notoriously powerful and violent members of the former Hero Squad.
Violet finally removed her foot from O’Niens’s head.
He struggled to his feet, glaring at Violet with hatred as she walked towards Inas. He wanted to tear her apart.
But he didn’t dare.
This woman was too powerful.
Violet didn’t make any grand gestures, but her aura intensified, a storm gathering around her.
The tents of the Church of the Earth Mother Goddess were ripped from the ground, sand and dust filling the air.
Some even felt as if they would be blown away.
It was a power that could shake heaven and earth.
Everyone, including Carol, Morton, Loseweisse, Ekaterina… felt a deep, oppressive pressure, a primal fear.
They knew Violet was strong, but they hadn’t realized she was this strong.
A power that rivaled Augustus, Saint Monique, and Wadsworth, the three strongest in the Heavenly Continent.
And such a powerful being was just a member of the Hero Squad, a subordinate of the Hero.
The Second Hero was truly terrifying.
Inas, having just gotten up, bore the brunt of Violet’s aura. She swayed, her legs weakening, almost falling to her knees.
But her pride as a Saintess kept her standing.
She trembled like a candle in the wind, her fists clenched, her chest heaving, her bloodshot eyes fixed on Violet.
With every step Violet took, the pressure intensified.
Every tap of her foot on the ground sent tremors through Inas’s body.
Finally, as Violet’s foot landed again, Inas could no longer endure it.
A sharp pain pierced her chest, and she spat out a mouthful of blood, staining the sand, trickling down her chin.
This was the difference in their strength.
They weren’t on the same level at all.
The surrounding soldiers watched with excitement and admiration.
Big sister is so cool!
From this moment on, with every step Violet took, Inas spat out another mouthful of blood.
By the time Violet finally reached her, the ground before Inas was stained crimson, her face pale and bloodless.
She truly understood how powerful Violet was.
But even so, Inas’s face remained defiant.
Hmph…
That proud, unyielding expression made Violet smile. She raised her hand…
Slap!
A crisp sound echoed through the air.
Violet slapped Inas across the face.
Five bright red finger marks appeared on her delicate cheek, her eyes filled with humiliation and rage.
Before thousands of onlookers, the Saint Son was trampled underfoot, and the Saintess was slapped.
The Church of the Earth Mother Goddess had lost all face today.
Violet’s slender fingers traced the finger marks on Inas’s face, then tightened around her slender neck.
She lifted Inas into the air, her struggles useless.
“Inas, listen to me,” she said, her voice cold and hard.
“I don’t care about your status, but from the moment you joined the Hero Squad, the Hero’s well-being is your top priority, not that useless Saint Son.”
“You joined the Hero Squad to protect and assist the Hero in fighting the Demon Beasts, not to whine and complain about your foolish, good-for-nothing lover.”
“If you don’t want to be a member of this squad, then get out!”
“The Hero Squad doesn’t need trash like you!”
She spoke with the authority of the Hero Squad’s leader.
Loseweisse clenched her fists. She knew that her position as the core of the Hero Squad had been usurped by Violet.
