Chapter 85: The World You Don’t Yet Know

“We really haven’t heard of this Chris you mentioned. Whose precious little darling are you, anyway? How can you be so clueless about such simple things?”

“Do… do I seem like an idiot?” Ruo Xiaoxi pointed at herself.

Should she tell these girls that Chris had turned her into a vampire? She was originally human and knew nothing about this world.

“Fufu, maybe Xiaoxi is from another continent?” Su Xiaoxiao suggested.

“Another continent? Hmm… there are ancient records of four connected continents, but those are just records. Unless… there really are other lands across the ocean?”

“Wait, what? Other continents?” Ruo Xiaoxi asked quickly.

“Ah, let me explain it simply. There are two worlds: this human world, with cities, and the other world, a magical continent. Most vampires live in the other world. A few… overslept in their coffins, sleeping for centuries, then waking up and staying here.”

“How can you oversleep for centuries?!”

“Maybe… the blankets were too comfortable?”

“Is that… supposed to be cute? I really want to retort.”

“Haha. So, a very small number of them are discovered by humans and end up living among them. People call them vampires, fearing their unusual powers. They even become urban legends.”

“Like you and Senior Su Xiaoxiao?”

“I prefer the term ‘bloodkin.’ We are proud and powerful, beyond the reach of ordinary mortals. Doesn’t ‘vampire’ sound a bit… dismissive?”

As Yifulan spoke, her blood-red eyes seemed to recount the history of an ancient bloodline. An overwhelming pressure emanated from her, washing over Ruo Xiaoxi, making her shiver and shrink back.

Vampire nobles… no, bloodkin nobles… so intimidating…

“S-sorry, I respect you very much. Um… can I use the restroom? Whenever Senior Yifulan… intimidates me, I suddenly need to go…” Ruo Xiaoxi blushed.

“Ah, it’s down the hall to the left.” Yifulan’s eyes returned to normal as she gestured towards the restroom.

“So timid… so fragile… like she’ll break if you poke her. Kind of cute.” Su Xiaoxiao rested her chin on her hands, watching Ruo Xiaoxi scurry to the restroom, a small smile gracing her lips.

According to ancient records, the magical continent was once a single landmass. Due to some divine intervention, it split into four: the Adel Continent, the Saint Al Continent, the Sophiel Continent, and an unknown continent.

The unknown continent had possibly sunk, becoming an underwater Atlantis, its name lost to time.

Su Xiaoxiao and Yifulan lived on the Adel Continent. Each continent supposedly had a self-contained ecosystem, separated by impassable, deadly seas.

It was just a guess, but Ruo Xiaoxi’s bloodline was unlike any they’d encountered. With their experience, there shouldn’t be any unknown bloodlines. So, however small the chance, she might be from elsewhere.

But Ruo Xiaoxi clearly didn’t know her origins. She was like a newborn babe.

Incidentally, magic circles allowed travel between the human world and the magical world. However, creating such spells required a high level of magical skill.

Exploring other continents was a dream for the Tarot Astrology Shop wives. If Ruo Xiaoxi truly belonged to a different bloodkin system, they might uncover some secrets…

“So powerful… I don’t know who they are, but they’re definitely strong.” Sitting in the restroom, Ruo Xiaoxi clutched a tissue, muttering to herself.

Everyone knew librarians were the strongest. And these girls were both beautiful and powerful.

Later, Ruo Xiaoxi learned that these bloodkin weren’t here to destroy or conquer, but to maintain order, to fight for a better life.

In the past, monsters called “The Beyond” had threatened the world. These girls, like magical girls, secretly fought and eradicated them.

Now, those monsters were almost extinct, only existing in a few unknown areas.

Eh? It’s over?

Shouldn’t I be the savior, defeating monsters and saving the world? Ruo Xiaoxi started daydreaming again. But she’d never even seen a monster.

She also wanted to fight to protect the girls she loved, just like in novels and manga!

“I want to fight monsters too! Charge! Protect the onee-sans! Cuddle with pretty girls!” Ruo Xiaoxi shadowboxed in front of the counter, her flushed face clearly showing her… milk-drunk state.

Yifulan watched, her chin resting on her hand, wondering how anyone could get drunk on milk.

“Xiaoxiao, what did you give her? Just milk tea? She’s starting to talk nonsense.”

“I… I don’t know! I remember making her a sparkling water… Wait, oh no, I think I used the wrong base!” Su Xiaoxiao picked up the empty glass and sniffed. A faint scent of alcohol lingered.

It was a cocktail base! Low alcohol content, but brightly colored. She’d grabbed the wrong bottle.

“Oh dear… is this… my fault?” Su Xiaoxiao said guiltily. As a trained bartender, she’d never made a mistake before.

Yifulan, seeing her wife’s distress, leaned over and kissed her cheek.

“It’s okay, it’s okay. She won’t remember anything when she wakes up tomorrow.”

“I’ll remember! I will! I’ll definitely remember being force-fed dog food at the… the Dog Food Shop again! Waaaah!” Ruo Xiaoxi continued to ramble as she was practically carried away.

Yifulan picked up the dazed Ruo Xiaoxi, glancing at the time. “It’s midnight. Let’s take her home. She has school tomorrow.”

“Do you know where she lives?”

“I can track her scent. Consider it a ‘safe delivery for drunk customers’ service. I’ll just charge her extra.” Yifulan grinned mischievously, vanishing into a swirl of crimson wind.

Small bats fluttered into existence, then dissolved into red sparks.

Back at Ruo Xiaoxi’s apartment, Latona, fiddling with the TV, was startled by Yifulan’s sudden appearance. Her tail shot straight up. “Ah! It’s the scary black-silk lady!”

“Hey, ‘kitten,’ who are you calling scary?” Yifulan landed gracefully, the tip of her high-heeled shoe touching the floor first, her skirt swirling around her. She placed Ruo Xiaoxi on the sofa.

“She’s drunk. Figure out how to sober her up. Alright, delivery complete. Good night~” With that, she teleported away, leaving behind a business card with the astrology shop’s number.

Latona stared for a moment, then crouched beside the sofa, poking Ruo Xiaoxi’s cheek. “Did you get drunk outside? But what can I give you to sober up…?”

After exploring the kitchen, Latona, unfamiliar with this world’s appliances, found the teapot and cups empty. There was no readily available water. She stood there, unsure what to do…

Then, her gaze drifted downward, and an idea sparked.

“Mmm…”

Ruo Xiaoxi, in her daze, felt something heavy and soft pressing against her face.
