70. Hi Everyone, I’m Ruo Xiaoxi, Gender: Female, Hobby: Girls
“Why are you glaring at me? Do you want some too? Go ask if they have any left. Do you think I’m Santa Claus?” Ruo Xiaoxi, clutching the mountain of gifts, started towards her dorm upstairs.
Who’d want that junk? Xia Zhibai rolled her eyes, chasing after her and aiming a playful kick.
“I do! I don’t just want gifts, I want you.”
“Hee hee, missed me!” Ruo Xiaoxi lifted her leg, hopping lightly to avoid Xia Zhibai’s kick. She stuck out her tongue playfully and grinned mischievously.
Seeing her stick out her tongue, Xia Zhibai knew she was deliberately trying to annoy her.
“Are you looking for a spanking?”
“Hmph, I wouldn’t let you spank me even if you tried. Besides, we’re at school, you can’t do anything~” Ruo Xiaoxi wiggled her backside, her skirt swaying slightly. Then, with a sudden burst of speed, she dashed off with her gifts, breaking into a full sprint.
Gotta run! Someone’s getting flustered, but I’m not saying who!
“Ruo Xiaoxi, don’t you run away from me!” Xia Zhibai took off after her.
The two chased each other up the stairs. Ruo Xiaoxi tossed her gifts onto her bed and then ran back downstairs, letting out a shriek that echoed through the hallway.
…After settling into her dorm, Ruo Xiaoxi headed to her classroom with her backpack.
She was assigned to Class 4, which was easy enough to find. With so many new students around, she just followed the crowd. Six classrooms per floor, three floors in total.
As she reached her classroom, she spotted Lan Yinuo standing at the doorway.
“Nuonuo!” Ruo Xiaoxi called out cheerfully, trotting over. “You’re here already! Why are you standing outside? Why not go in? There should be plenty of seats.”
“Xiaoxi, I, I was waiting for you…” Lan Yinuo’s eyes lit up at the sight of Ruo Xiaoxi, and she hurried to meet her.
Ruo Xiaoxi tilted her head, puzzled. “Waiting for me? You didn’t have to. Do you want to sit together? You could’ve just gone in, picked two desks, put your bag down, and said they were taken.”
“Ah… wouldn’t that be, um, not very nice?” Lan Yinuo fidgeted nervously.
Nuonuo’s social anxiety was acting up again. It was the first day of school, a completely new environment with unfamiliar faces. She was even too shy to enter the classroom, so she just waited for Ruo Xiaoxi outside.
“What’s not nice about it? If I came late, you’d be standing here forever, turning into a waiting-wife stone!” Ruo Xiaoxi teased, leading her into the classroom.
“A-a waiting-wife stone…!?”
“Huh?” Ruo Xiaoxi turned, noticing Lan Yinuo’s blush. Realizing her slip-up, she quickly covered her mouth.
“I wasn’t thinking… Just, just pretend you didn’t hear that!”
“Oh, okay…”
“You two in the back, please find your seats quickly. I’m about to take attendance. If you see any classmates still outside, call them in.” The teacher’s voice came from the podium.
“Okay, teacher!” Ruo Xiaoxi replied brightly, taking Lan Yinuo’s wrist and leading her to find seats.
It was strange. Usually, everyone fought for the front seats, but the older students seemed to prefer the back. Ruo Xiaoxi and Lan Yinuo found two seats in the front row.
Since they were both short, sitting in the front wasn’t so bad, except for the constant chalk dust.
“Xiaoxi, have you been to the dorm yet? We’re in the same room.” Lan Yinuo whispered.
“I have. Wait, really? We’re in the same dorm? Where’s your bed?”
“The lower bunk on the left as you enter.”
“Wow, so I’m on the top bunk above you! That was the only bed left when I arrived.”
This high school had good facilities; not just functional but comfortable. Four people to a room, with desks provided next to each bed. Everyone had a decent amount of personal space.
So, she and Nuonuo were roommates, which meant two more potential friends to get to know.
Perhaps… she could entice her roommates into joining her club? The Tea Ceremony and Slacking Off Club was perfect for those who enjoyed relaxing and taking it easy. It would depend on their interests, though.
Ruo Xiaoxi suspected that recruiting members for her club would be her biggest challenge in the coming days.
After taking attendance, the teacher held the customary first class meeting, which included the classic self-introduction segment. A triennial ritual, just as nerve-wracking every time.
At the mention of self-introductions, Nuonuo trembled like a frightened chick, as if the sky was falling.
Ruo Xiaoxi wasn’t sure what to say. Everyone else was just stating their name and hobbies. When her turn came, all eyes were on the girl with the snow-white hair.
The entire class was focused on her, with some glances also directed at Lan Yinuo. Nuonuo felt like collateral damage; being next to such a dazzling girl inevitably drew some attention.
“Um…” Ruo Xiaoxi scratched her cheek and blurted out, “Hi everyone, I’m Ruo Xiaoxi. Uh, gender: female… hobby: girls.”
Contrary to her expectations, instead of the stunned silence she’d imagined, the class paused for half a second before erupting in a cacophony of excited chatter.
Their homeroom teacher, an intelligent and beautiful woman, pushed up her glasses and chuckled. “It seems Ruo Xiaoxi is a girl with a lot of personality. And very pretty, too. Ruo Xiaoxi, may I ask, is your hair dyed? I’m sure everyone is curious.”
“No, it’s natural.” Ruo Xiaoxi was still planning to dye it light brown.
“A fairy descended from heaven!” a boy called out from the back row. Ruo Xiaoxi glanced at him, offering a shy yet sweet smile. The boy instantly fell silent, dumbstruck.
Perhaps, in that moment, he understood the meaning of “a glance that could launch a thousand ships.”
Ruo Xiaoxi’s angelic face had shattered his heart into a million pieces. He suddenly realized he’d never seen a girl so beautiful in his life.
Ruo Xiaoxi knew how attractive she was and how to charm boys, but unfortunately for them, as they’d just heard, her preference was girls.
She didn’t drink the blood of boys, and she only flirted with girls.
So, did she really need to write “lesbian” across her forehead?
Just as Ruo Xiaoxi sat down, it was Lan Yinuo’s turn to speak. Blushing, she softly continued, “My name is Lan Yinuo…”
“I like Ruo Xiaoxi…”
With that, the classroom exploded, like a spark igniting a powder keg.
This time, the room really erupted.
