23. Skilled with Pen and Yuri, Powerful Before the Mirror…
Darn it, the pretty older sister disappeared.
Ruo Xiaoxi got up,
Ruo Xiaoxi got up, dusting herself off, and checked her legs, discovering a scattering of hickeys on her delicate thighs.
Like little tally marks chronicling the night’s events, they sent a wave of embarrassment through her. She quickly pulled her skirt down, but it couldn’t quite cover everything. Blushing furiously, she hurried home.
“That Sister Xia, I need to stay away from her!” Ruo Xiaoxi mentally added her to the “high-risk relationship” category.
As she scurried into her apartment building, she bumped into a girl in a light green dress standing in front of her door.
“Xiao Ke? What are you doing standing here?”
“Whoa! You scared me! How come you’re coming from behind me, Sister Ruo? I thought you were inside!” The girl, Xiao Ke, jumped, her twintails bouncing.
“I wasn’t home last night. I just got back,” Ruo Xiaoxi explained, unlocking the door.
Luo Xiao Ke, if she guessed correctly, was thirteen years old, a newly minted middle school student, and the daughter of the family living upstairs.
A rather cute girl.
“Want to come in?” Ruo Xiaoxi asked, holding the door open.
Luo Xiao Ke seemed to snap out of her daze and nodded quickly, slipping off her shoes on the doormat and putting on the house slippers Ruo Xiaoxi offered.
“You weren’t home last night? I knocked for ages this morning, but no one answered. I thought you were sleeping,” Luo Xiao Ke said with a sweet smile.
“Did you want to play at my place? I don’t have anything fun here, though.”
“My mom asked me to bring you some green dates. You said you liked them last time, right? Mom said it must be hard for you living alone for school, so she wants me to come over and chat with you more often.”
She held a stainless steel bowl filled with green dates.
“Ah… thank your mom for me. I’m so sorry, I haven’t had a chance to visit you guys yet.”
“It’s okay! I can come to your place, Sister Ruo! Actually, I thought a big brother had moved in downstairs, but then I found out it was you.”
“Ah… that.” Ruo Xiaoxi scratched her cheek.
The little girl must have seen her during the move. Back then, she hadn’t met Chris yet. She felt a pang of nostalgia for her former self.
Initially, she had demanded that Chris change her back. She swore she’d jump off a building if she ever ate a single bite of Chris’s food or called her “sister”!
But then Chris had brought out a mirror, and Ruo Xiaoxi, seeing her stunning reflection, a girl who happened to be her type, thought, Being a girl isn’t so bad after all.
And Chris’s words, “If you don’t have a girlfriend, just become one yourself,” strangely made sense. After that, she had a change of heart. Skilled with a pen for yuri, powerful before the mirror, admiring herself.
“Eh, Sister Ruo, why are you spacing out? I wanted to ask, the handsome guy who helped you move that day, was he your brother? Or your… boy-boyfriend!?” Luo Xiao Ke asked, blushing.
Of course, a girl her age would blush at the mere mention of a boyfriend.
“Ah, just lost in thought. I wouldn’t get a boyfriend. Boys are bad news. They’ll poke you with needles and hurt you. Older sisters’ fingers are much gentler.”
“Eh?” Luo Xiao Ke didn’t understand but was impressed. It sounded very profound.
So, boys are bad? Then he must not be Sister Ruo’s boyfriend.
“He’s your brother!” Luo Xiao Ke declared happily.
But Ruo Xiaoxi shook her slender finger. “Girlfriend.”
“Huh…?” Luo Xiao Ke stared at her blankly, confused. Her little brain couldn’t process it. It must be because I’m just a middle school student, so I don’t understand what Sister Ruo is saying!
It’s okay, don’t doubt yourself, even university professors wouldn’t understand. Ruo Xiaoxi offered a reassuring look.
Ruo Xiaoxi loosened her collar and sat down on the sofa. Luo Xiao Ke obediently sat beside her, placing the bowl of green dates on the coffee table.
For some reason, this little girl was very clingy, always wanting to cuddle.
“Sister Ruo, Sister Ruo, can I sit on your lap?”
“Sure,” Ruo Xiaoxi was always gentle and affectionate towards children.
After all, who could be stern with an innocent child who, upon being given a disapproving look, would ask with teary eyes why you were angry? How could anyone be mad at such a child?
The more she experienced, the more she realized how precious and fleeting a pure, innocent heart was.
Of course, Ruo Xiaoxi’s lap was reserved for girls only.
Boys should go find a shady spot and play with mud.
“Xiao Ke, why are you so clingy?” Ruo Xiaoxi asked, settling the little girl on her lap, turning on the TV for her, and gently stroking her hair.
Ruo Xiaoxi was petite, but she was a developed young woman. Luo Xiao Ke, still a child, had thinner arms than Ruo Xiaoxi.
However, she noticed that the middle schooler was starting to develop, her chest showing the slightest hints of curves, wearing a little training bra, at the cusp of blossoming into a young woman.
Although she was the daughter of the family upstairs, in this moment, they looked like a loving pair of sisters.
“Hee hee, because Sister Ruo is so pretty, and you always smell so nice! I really like you!”
