    Chapter 36 p1

“Two meat buns, a cup of soy milk. Your breakfast, ma’am.”

“How is it? To your liking? I made it myself, you know.”

“Don’t glare at me! Glare at him over there! I’m shy. I hate being stared at.”

Xin Yao rolled her eyes, taking a bite of her bun.

Her attempt to escape last night had failed. The damn Taoist priest had dragged her out of her dream.

Now, she sat on the floor of a simple room on the mountain, dressed in her pajamas, her bare feet cold against the stone floor. A faint blue light emanated from the magic circle surrounding her, trapping her within its confines.

The chattering figure squatting before her, offering her breakfast, was Li Henqing’s disciple, a chubby little Taoist priest with his hair in a topknot.

The person he was referring to was Li Henqing himself, sitting at a nearby table, his eyes closed, meditating. He hadn’t moved or spoken since capturing her and placing her within the magic circle.

Xin Yao was speechless. What was this guy’s deal?

After finishing her breakfast, feeling her strength return, she resumed her attempts to escape, pounding on the barrier of the magic circle.

“Help! A Taoist priest is kidnapping me! Robbery! Murder!”

“Li Henqing! Say something, you coward!”

Li Henqing remained silent, his eyes still closed, as if he hadn’t heard a thing.

The little Taoist priests sweeping the courtyard outside, however, having never ventured down the mountain, nor encountered a woman, let alone witnessed such a scene, began to whisper amongst themselves, their gossip spreading like wildfire.

“Master seems to have kidnapped a girl.”

“Has Master finally lost his way?”

“Or maybe this is his true nature?”

    “Shameless old man!”

    Li Henqing ignored them.

His chubby disciple, however, couldn’t stand it any longer. He shooed the other disciples away, then turned to Xin Yao.

    “Ma’am, please stop shouting.”

“My master is like this. He hates working. Nine to five. He won’t open his eyes or speak until nine o’clock.”

    Huh?

Xin Yao paused, her hand still raised mid-air, her expression bewildered.

    Were these people insane?!

Just then, Li Henqing suddenly opened his eyes, holding up a finger.

“One tea egg, one bun, one cup of soy milk.”

His chubby disciple winked at Xin Yao.

    “Except for breakfast.”

He scurried off to prepare his master’s breakfast.

After the disciple left, Xin Yao and Li Henqing were alone again, the room falling silent.

Xin Yao, unable to sit still, kicked at the barrier of the magic circle.

“Why did you bring me here?! What’s your reason?! Are you trying to use me against Pei Yu? How despicable!”

Li Henqing, calmly peeling his tea egg, glanced at her, then muttered to himself, “Don’t be angry, don’t be angry.”

    He looked at Xin Yao.

“Do you know you’re about to die?”

“Who?” Xin Yao looked around the room, then pointed at herself, surprised. “Me?”

    “Yes.”

    “Why am I dying?”

The Taoist priest finished his tea egg and took a sip of soy milk, his gaze drifting towards the misty mountain outside the window. Then, he finally answered, his voice slow and deliberate.

“A cursed child will bring chaos to the world. That is the law of the mountain. And it is our duty to eliminate such a threat.”

“That snake demon, thinking he could hide his cursed offspring by stealing the Sacred Seal of the Snow Mountain, was foolish. Purity and evil cannot coexist.”

“It’s not her half-demon bloodline that’s causing her powers to surge. It’s the conflict between the Sacred Seal and the cursed energy within her.”

“This conflict will reach its peak when she reaches maturity. In other words, when Pei Yu’s vulnerable phase ends and she enters her mature phase, the two energies within her will clash, and she will die.”

“And you, bound to her by the mating mark, will die with her.”

“I brought you here to save you. This magic circle will remove the mating mark.”

Xin Yao instinctively looked down at her chest, pulling her shirt aside. The mark, usually so vibrant, was now faint and fading.

Soon, it would disappear completely, severing her connection with Pei Yu.

She clutched her shirt, her fingers trembling, her face paler than the snow falling on the mountain outside.

Her mind went blank, a wave of coldness washing over her. She collapsed onto the floor, tears welling up in her eyes.

Then, a sudden thought made her scramble to her feet, her hands gripping the barrier as she looked at Li Henqing.

“Isn’t there any way to save her?”

Li Henqing finally looked at her, his expression puzzled.

“I’m supposed to eliminate the cursed child and retrieve the Sacred Seal. Why would I save her?”

His words, his condescending tone, infuriated Xin Yao.

Her anger momentarily overshadowed her fear. She slammed her hand against the barrier.

“Tell me, what exactly is a ‘cursed child’? What chaos will she bring?”

“Has she caused any trouble? Has she done anything wrong? Why do you get to judge her, to decide her fate?”

Li Henqing seemed to find her anger amusing. “Should we wait until she actually does something, until the consequences are irreversible, before taking action?”

“But how can you judge someone based on something that hasn’t even happened?” Xin Yao argued. “Sentencing someone to death before they’ve even had a chance to live… don’t you think that’s ridiculous?”

His words made Li Henqing pause, a rare moment of silence. Then, he finally replied, “A demon is a demon.”

“Bullshit!” Xin Yao cursed. “Even you don’t believe that, Li Henqing! You’re a bastard!”

Li Henqing raised an eyebrow, his chopsticks clattering against his bowl, about to retort.

Just then, a deafening roar echoed through the mountains, making their ears ring.

The entire room shook, objects falling to the floor.

Xin Yao, her hands covering her ears, instinctively crouched down.

What was that? An earthquake? A landslide?

Her question was quickly answered as Li Henqing’s chubby disciple rushed into the room, his face pale with panic.

    “Report!”

“Master! A giant white snake is attacking the temple!”

    Pei Yu!

It had to be Pei Yu!

Xin Yao scrambled to her feet, looking at Li Henqing.

Li Henqing glanced at the clock on the wall.

    It was 8:30 am.

His disciple rolled his eyes. “Alright, alright, I know. You won’t work until nine. I’ll go check it out.”

He ran outside, his voice echoing back into the room.

“Master! The courtyard is filled with snow!”

“Master! The temple dog has been defeated!”

“Holy shit, Master! The temple sign has been destroyed!”

Assessing the situation, the disciple decided that they were outmatched and refused to leave the relative safety of the doorway.

    “Master, what did you do?!”

Xin Yao scoffed. “Your master kidnapped someone’s wife.”

    “Whose wife?”

    “Mine.”

The disciple’s eyes widened. “Yikes. He deserves it, then.”

Just then, the snake demon outside seemed to have gone completely berserk. A powerful gust of wind, carrying snow and ice, ripped through the temple, tearing off the roof and shattering the front door.

Bright sunlight streamed in, the swirling snow and ice like a blizzard, threatening to engulf them.

Pei Yu, in her half-human, half-snake form, stood amidst the storm, her white hair swirling around her, her red eyes blazing, her appearance terrifying and magnificent.

She was indeed a madwoman, unleashing her full power, having reached the temple gates in less than half an hour.

Li Henqing: This was her vulnerable phase?!

If Xin Yao wasn’t released soon, Pei Yu would tear the entire mountain apart.

Even a natural disaster wouldn’t stop her from rescuing her mate.

Xin Yao, trapped within the magic circle, stared at the figure in the blizzard.

    “Pei Yu.”

The chubby disciple, even more terrified than Xin Yao, almost collapsed onto the floor.

“Holy shit, Master! I think we’re outmatched!”

Just then, the temple bell chimed, signaling nine o’clock.

Li Henqing, finally ready to “work,” stood up, smoothing his robes.

“Hmph. As if I could be defeated.”

He stepped out of the room, ready to face the rampaging snake demon.

Li Henqing, as confident as ever, was indeed powerful.

He and Pei Yu clashed in a fierce battle, their figures barely visible amidst the swirling snow and ice.

Whenever they disappeared from view, Xin Yao would anxiously peer through the barrier, trying to see what was happening.

After a long while, a roar echoed through the air.

Xin Yao looked up to see Pei Yu, forced into her true form by Li Henqing, her massive white body coiling and thrashing, her mouth open wide, ready to strike.

But just then, Pei Yu saw Xin Yao, trapped within the magic circle.

Mid-attack, she froze, a wave of fear washing over her.

Her mother, Pei Shuangshuang, had been frightened away by her father’s true form.

The scene was eerily similar to the one unfolding before her now.

And she was attacking someone, her fangs bared, her appearance terrifying. Would Yaoyao be disgusted? Would she still love her?

As Pei Yu hesitated, her mind momentarily clouded by fear and self-doubt, Li Henqing seized the opportunity, striking her with a powerful blow.

The pain jolted her back to reality, and she lunged forward, her mind clear.

She had nothing to fear. Xin Yao was her strength, her courage.

Xin Yao wouldn’t abandon her because of this.

    And Xin Yao wouldn’t.

In fact, compared to Pei Yu, Xin Yao was the truly strong and unwavering one.

Watching Pei Yu battle Li Henqing, Xin Yao’s heart ached with a mix of sadness and compassion.

Her Pei Yu, who had suffered so much, who had finally found happiness, how could she die now?

And it was Xin Yao who was the one who couldn’t stay.

She looked at the glowing screen in her mind, the 24-hour countdown ticking away.

Xu Qing had been arrested for attempted murder and corporate espionage, his future a long prison sentence.

Xin Yao’s mission was complete. And with no points to pay for an extended stay, she would soon be leaving this world.

24 hours. That was all the time she had left.

She was the one who couldn’t stay.

But she couldn’t bear the thought of Pei Yu dying, her fate sealed from the moment of her birth, her life filled with suffering.

Good and evil shouldn’t be defined like this. No one deserved to die because of a curse.

She was leaving anyway. Why not use her remaining time to save Pei Yu?

Xin Yao wiped away her tears. “Nuan Nuan, please help me.”

Nuan Nuan, knowing what she was about to suggest, slammed her hand against her keyboard.

[Xin Yao, don’t be ridiculous! I can’t help you!]

“Please, Nuan Nuan,” Xin Yao pleaded. “Just this once. Can you really watch her die?”

    [You’ll regret this!]

“I’ll regret it more if I don’t do anything!”

    Nuan Nuan was exasperated.

[I warned you before you entered this world! Don’t get attached! There’s no happy ending for someone who’s leaving and someone who’s staying!]

[Xin Yao, think about your sister! Think about your mother! Think about the home you haven’t bought yet! Think about yourself, dying alone in the snow! Think about your own happiness for once!]

Xin Yao knew that Nuan Nuan, despite her harsh words, cared about her.

“I know, but this is the best option, isn’t it?”

“I’ll take her curse with me when I leave, and she’ll live.”

[Sigh…] Nuan Nuan relented, her voice softening. [It will be very painful, you know.]

Xin Yao nodded, her expression calm.

    “I know.”

When Li Henqing had declared Pei Yu’s impending death, Xin Yao hadn’t just been sad.

She had immediately contacted Nuan Nuan, asking for a way to save her.

    Chapter 35 p2:

Subconsciously, Xin Yao and Pei Yu turned around.

Standing at the desolate, snow-covered entrance was a Taoist priest in a green robe, holding an oil-paper umbrella.

He bent down, his long fingers brushing Xu Qing’s forehead, taking away a speck of light, seemingly erasing the unnatural scene Xu Qing had witnessed today. Of course, he didn’t take away the death and pain inflicted by Pei Yu; that wasn’t within the Taoist priest’s job scope.

Then, the Taoist priest raised his head, revealing eyes colder than snow and a youthful face with graying temples.

    Li Henqing!

The moment Xin Yao saw his face, she was terrified. Wasn’t this the Taoist priest who wanted to capture Pei Yu’s father?

Was he here to capture Pei Yu now?

At that moment, Xin Yao didn’t think. She instinctively stepped in front of Pei Yu, shielding her with outstretched arms, looking at the Taoist priest with a nervous, vigilant, and fierce gaze.
    “What do you want?”

    Li Henqing’s face was expressionless.
    “Probably, to slay a demon.”

Xin Yao’s body trembled with tension.

“Don’t be so hostile,” Li Henqing waved his hand. “You should actually thank me. If I hadn’t sealed off this area with my spiritual power just now, you would have been discovered.”

“For that, let’s not fight. Let me finish my job and get off work.”

    Shameless!

Xin Yao opened her mouth to curse him.

At this moment, Pei Yu, shielded behind her, reached out and patted Xin Yao’s shoulder gently. Then she grabbed Xin Yao’s wrist and pulled her behind her once again.

Xin Yao hadn’t cried when she was in danger, but now she was about to. She clutched the back of Pei Yu’s clothes.
“Pei Yu, I’ll hold him off. You run.”

What was she feeling at that moment?

There was someone in this world who would protect her regardless of their own safety.

The heavy snow fell from the sky, melting into her heart like water, warming her from the inside out, warming her gradually awakening heart.

Pei Yu turned her head slightly, her side profile and eyes warm in the snowy light.
“Don’t worry, I can handle him.”

With that, Pei Yu reached out and covered Xin Yao’s eyes, shielding her sight, and whispered in her ear, “Count to three softly, and everything will be alright.”

Xin Yao’s fingers clenched tightly, but at this moment, all she could do was trust Pei Yu.

Closing her eyes as Pei Yu instructed, her heart pounding, she silently counted.

    One.

    Two.

    Three.

Xin Yao eagerly opened her eyes.

What she saw was the boundless swirling snow, Xu Qing lying on the ground, security guards rushing over from afar, blood frozen on the ground, and scattered tomatoes.

It was the noisy human world, and Pei Yu standing in front of her.

    The Taoist priest was gone.

Xin Yao completely relaxed, throwing herself into Pei Yu’s arms.
    “Are you okay?”

Pei Yu bent down and hugged her tightly.
    “I’m fine, I’m fine.”

Meanwhile, thousands of miles away, on the Tianshan Mountains, a Taoist priest opened his eyes. He had delicate features and graying temples. It was Li Henqing.

Li Henqing’s face was still expressionless, sitting there like a wooden statue. After a long while, he spoke in his cold voice.
    “Damn? I actually lost.”

In those brief three seconds in the snowstorm, after Pei Yu had turned around, she hadn’t said a word.

Li Henqing had wanted to say something.

The next second, he saw Pei Yu looking at him with blood-red eyes. She raised her hand and made a grasping motion towards him.

Then Li Henqing found himself unable to speak. His head rattled, and then exploded.

At the moment of explosion, his entire body turned into a fluttering piece of paper in the snow, burning and disappearing from the neck down.

It turned out to be just a paper substitute.

Xin Yao didn’t know about this. Throughout the entire process, Pei Yu had protected her well.

However, after they returned inside and everything had calmed down, it was Pei Yu, who had been so cold and ruthless outside, who broke down first. Xin Yao, holding her hand, found her trembling all over, her expression clearly one of fear and shock.

The demon who always claimed to be emotionless was now more emotional than anyone else.

After all, tonight’s two crises had almost caused her to lose Xin Yao.

She hadn’t dared to think about it when things were tense, but now that things were quiet, recalling those moments sent chills down her spine.

Pei Yu couldn’t imagine what she would be like if she lost Xin Yao.

If she had been even a second late…

    “Pei Yu!”

    “Pei Yu!”

The voice beside her broke through the illusion, and Xin Yao grabbed Pei Yu’s hand, pulling her back.

Pei Yu turned her head, looking into Xin Yao’s worried eyes.
“Are you alright? Are you hurt?”

“No,” Pei Yu looked at her with dazed eyes, then suddenly pulled Xin Yao into a tight embrace, as if to confirm that Xin Yao was really by her side. “I’m fine. I shouldn’t have left today. Li Henqing came because of me. You must have been terrified. I’m sorry.”

“Don’t apologize, Pei Yu. It’s not your fault. You’ve never done anything wrong,” Xin Yao stood on tiptoe and kissed her gently. “It’s alright now.”

“I was a little scared, but with you here, I’m not afraid anymore.”

Xin Yao truly wasn’t afraid anymore, as she said. Now it was Pei Yu who was afraid and nervous.

Later that night, something fell from the table, and Xin Yao bent down to pick it up.

Pei Yu turned around and didn’t see her. Her jade-like pupils constricted, her breath catching in her throat, her composure almost shattering.

After picking up the item, Xin Yao saw her expression and was startled. She quickly realized what was happening and rushed over to hug her.
    “It’s okay, Pei Yu. I’m here. I won’t leave.”

As Pei Yu came back to her senses in Xin Yao’s warm embrace, she hugged her back tightly.

Even when they went to bed, she wouldn’t let go, as if afraid that if she relaxed her grip, the person in her arms would leave.

On the contrary, Xin Yao felt safe in her warm embrace. Her tense nerves relaxed, and she gradually drifted off to sleep.

    But soon, she woke up.

Xin Yao opened her eyes. She was still lying in her warm bed, but Pei Yu wasn’t there.

She was dreaming; she was sure of it.

Because the whole world was hazy, as if shrouded in fog.

She lifted the quilt, sat up, and walked towards the door.

She didn’t know why she was going, but she just walked over.

When she opened the bedroom door, the light from outside streamed in. Xin Yao, still slightly dazed, looked over, and the next second, her eyes widened, her heart clenching, almost crying out.

    She was instantly jolted awake.

The hateful Taoist priest she had met that afternoon was sitting in her living room, calmly drinking tea.

Xin Yao’s insides turned to ice, and she ran towards the front door.

The tea-drinking Taoist priest didn’t stop her, not even turning his head.

Because the moment she opened the front door, Xin Yao didn’t see the familiar hallway, but another living room, with Li Henqing still sitting there drinking tea. Xin Yao rubbed her eyes and turned to look. The Li Henqing behind her was also drinking tea.

Two identical spaces, connected by this door.

In this surreal scene, Xin Yao knew she couldn’t escape. She closed the door and turned around.
    “What do you want?”

Li Henqing put down his teacup, his face expressionless, yet he seemed to sigh.
“I couldn’t defeat her, so I had to resort to taking you from your dream.”

“Save me?” Xin Yao almost rolled her eyes. “You’re here to harm me, aren’t you?”

Li Henqing looked at her with a seemingly pitying expression.
“It’s tragic when someone is about to die but doesn’t know it.”

“Bullshit! You’re talking nonsense,” Xin Yao politely greeted him. “You’re the one who’s going to die.”

For a moment, Li Henqing’s expression was blank.

The Taoist priest had lived for over 300 years, rarely leaving the mountains, rarely interacting with people, and even more rarely being cursed at. Today, Xin Yao’s sudden outburst was an eye-opener for him.

Xin Yao didn’t care about his sensitive little feelings and asked again, “Where is this place?”

“Obviously, your dream,” Li Henqing recovered and answered readily. “I couldn’t defeat her directly, so I had to take you from your dream.”

With that, the Taoist priest stood up from the sofa and walked towards Xin Yao, grabbing her wrist.
    “Come with me.”

“Please, be cooperative. I really hate working overtime.”

If Xin Yao were cooperative, she wouldn’t be Xin Yao. The moment the Taoist priest’s hand, which felt like a branding iron, gripped her wrist, she began to struggle frantically.
“You’re crazy! I’m calling the police! This is kidnapping! You’ll go to jail, you know!”

However, her strength was nothing compared to the spiritually powered Taoist priest. No matter how hard she struggled, she couldn’t make him budge.

Xin Yao might not have much in this life, but she never lacked stubbornness.

She looked up at Li Henqing’s indifferent face, then down at his hand gripping her wrist.

Gritting her teeth, she made up her mind and bit down hard on his hand.

For the first second, Li Henqing remained expressionless.

For the second second, he was still unmoved.

For the third second, strangely, his forehead twitched slightly.
Then his veins bulged, the corners of his lips twitching, and he pushed Xin Yao’s head away with his other hand.

    “Gah!!!!”

    “Why are you biting me?!”

  • You’re Not Allowed to Kiss Me Anymore! [Quick Transmigration] 35p1

    T/N:

I fixed Chapter 34 (I think). I removed part 3 and edited the entire chapter. I don’t know what happened, but some of the chapters I had ready got corrupted—paragraphs were duplicated and stuff. I think I messed something up while half-asleep, haha. Let me know if you spot any more errors. Thanks!

    Chapter 35 p1:

Xu Qing hadn’t been doing well these past few days.

The days he was taken away for questioning by the police because of the lawsuits from Xin Corp and other companies were a blur. Every time he closed his eyes, he heard countless people screaming and cursing at him. His mental state was on the verge of collapse.

When he was temporarily released, he was unshaven, with dark circles under his eyes, and his clothes reeked. At first glance, he looked like a beggar.

He didn’t care. In this dazed state, he returned to his small, rented apartment.

Sitting on the cold floor in the middle of winter, Xu Qing raised his head slightly, looking at the sunlight filtering in through the small, square window above him, his face gloomy.

After a while, he mechanically turned on his battered, almost defunct phone.

    Ding ding ding ding ding.

A barrage of message notifications exploded in the room, flooding his ears and mind. It was the overwhelming sound of people cursing him.

Every word was like a sword, stabbing at his throat, leaving him bleeding.

Even now, Xu Qing couldn’t understand why everything had suddenly changed. Not long ago, Xin Wanyin had loved him so much, and they were… almost happy, weren’t they?

But now, sitting in the dirty room, looking at Xin Wanyin’s stills from a drama on the entertainment news – she was wearing a beautiful red dress, her hair styled in a cloud bun, adorned with peony hairpins, gently stroking a pipa in her hands, smiling serenely – in that instant, looking at the screen, Xu Qing suddenly felt an immense distance between them.

As if one was in heaven and the other in the depths of hell.

He didn’t know how many days passed like this.

Xu Qing was in a daze. When he was hungry, he would crawl up and find something to eat; when he was thirsty, he would gulp down a bottle of alcohol. When he finally came to his senses, he was lying in a pile of filthy garbage, like a toad in a dark corner.

Subconsciously, he turned on his phone, his cloudy eyes falling on the screen. The next moment, they widened abruptly, and he sat up.

The news was reporting something shocking, at least to Xu Qing: the Xin Corp. suicide case.

The Xin Corp. case had garnered considerable attention, sparking a wave of public opinion in just a few days, so the investigation results came out quickly. The conclusion was, without a doubt, true. Xu Qing’s father had indeed jumped to his death to defraud the company for compensation.

The moment he saw this news, Xu Qing completely broke down.

The clear, blue-and-white text shattered his beliefs of so many years, the very meaning of his life. After all, every day he had lived was for revenge for his father and mother, to make Xin Corp. pay.

Now, he was told that everything was wrong, that it was his own father who was despicable. Many people online were mercilessly criticizing and cursing his father.

Then what was the meaning of his life all these years? What had he been doing? He had ruined his own life!

It turned out that he had been wrong all along.

In that instant, Xu Qing’s spirit completely collapsed. He tore at his hair, his bloodshot eyes almost bulging out of their sockets, terrifying like a demon.

Amidst his breakdown and panic, as his entire worldview crumbled, Xu Qing suddenly thought of Xin Wanyin. The only person in the world who had once supported him unconditionally, listened to him absolutely, and doted on him without limits.

He had lost such a person.

Xu Qing grabbed his hair and banged his head against the table, his forehead bleeding. Amidst the banging sounds, he suddenly stopped, abruptly standing up.

No, he couldn’t give up like this. He had to go find Wanyin and apologize. Tell her he was wrong, tell her he regretted it, even if it meant crying and kneeling to beg her.

What if, what if Wanyin was still willing to forgive him?

With unrealistic fantasies in his mind, Xu Qing grabbed something from the table and rushed out the door in a frenzy.

After being driven away last time, he didn’t dare go to the film set. Knowing that Xin Yao wasn’t living in her old house, he went directly to the Xin family villa to lie in wait.

Afraid that Xin Wanyin wouldn’t want to see him, he hid.

In the cold, rainy weather, he huddled in the bushes by the side of the road leading to the residential area, without an umbrella, his head down.

Finally, in the late afternoon, as dusk approached, a familiar figure appeared in the distance. The person was wearing a misty blue coat, carrying a dark green umbrella. Her soft, long hair was styled in loose waves, casually draped over her shoulders. In the shifting light and shadow, her delicate chin and beautiful red lips were faintly visible.

    However, it wasn’t Xin Wanyin.

Xu Qing had waited so long tonight, only to see Xin Yao returning home.

Cold rainwater dripped down his chin and into his collar, sending a chill down his spine, making him shiver uncontrollably. He squatted there, watching Xin Yao’s graceful figure, trembling more and more as he watched.

    It was her.

    Everything started with her.

If she hadn’t suddenly fired him, if she hadn’t opposed them being together so strongly, things wouldn’t have turned out this way!

As he thought about it, the precarious thread in Xu Qing’s mind finally snapped.

He abruptly pulled out a knife from his pocket.

Originally, this knife was meant for when he saw Xin Wanyin. He had thought that if Wanyin refused to reconcile, he would stab himself with the knife to show her his resolve.

Now, he had completely forgotten about this. Staring at Xin Yao approaching, he rushed towards her with a ferocious expression.

Xin Yao was in a relatively good mood today. Pei Yu had some unavoidable business at the company, so she went out alone to the supermarket to buy some groceries, planning to make soup for Pei Yu that night.

The supermarket wasn’t far, so Xin Yao, who had learned to drive, decided to walk.

On her way back, she held the dark green umbrella, a smile playing on her lips as she walked home.

The wind was strong today, and the rain was getting heavier. The angle of the umbrella created a blind spot. All of this combined to blur her perception, making her completely unaware of the person beside her.

It was at this moment that Xu Qing, like a mad dog, rushed out from the side. The blade of the knife flashed, coated in cold rainwater. He knocked Xin Yao’s umbrella away, the gleaming blade aimed straight at her neck.

The heavy handle of the umbrella slipped from her hand, and the supermarket bag she was carrying fell to the ground, bright red tomatoes rolling out into the rainwater.

Xin Yao looked up in terror. At that moment, she felt as if time had slowed down.

Her throat felt constricted, a burning pain spreading. Rainwater splashed into her eyes. Reflected in her beautiful eyes, behind the distorted raindrops, was Xu Qing’s face, his freezing red hands, and the blade aimed at her.

Gradually, even Xu Qing’s face blurred. The only clear thing in the world was the approaching knife, shrinking to a needlepoint, hurtling towards her.

Just as the knife was about to pierce Xin Yao’s neck, at the very last moment, a strong, steady hand grabbed her wrist and pulled her forcefully into an embrace.

Xin Yao was spun around. As rainwater splashed with the movement, she bumped into someone’s warm chest and saw dark clothing.

Gasping in fear, Xin Yao looked up, slowly, in the chaotic light, seeing Pei Yu’s delicate face. Raindrops clung to her long, white eyelashes and slid down her jawline. Her expressionless side profile was terrifyingly cold.

Xin Yao rarely saw such an expression on her face. Pei Yu was always gentle and patient with her. Even when she was dominant in bed, it was just playful.

Now, seeing her baring her fangs at such close range, seeing the ice and snow in her eyes, made Xin Yao feel that Pei Yu might really tear someone apart in the next second.

Yes, Pei Yu was a demon, and demons were never benevolent.

Xin Yao slowly turned her head, her gaze fixed. In the swirling rain, she saw Pei Yu holding her with one hand, the other raised, tightly gripping the incoming blade.

The blade sliced through her palm, blood mixing with the rain, dripping onto the ground, pooling, and quickly being washed away by the flowing water.

Xin Yao gasped and gripped Pei Yu’s arm tightly.
    “Pei Yu! You’re hurt!”

At that moment, Pei Yu had been at the company when she suddenly felt a sharp pain in her chest, making it difficult to breathe and even stand up straight. She immediately realized something had happened to Xin Yao and, without thinking, used the mark to teleport to her.

The first thing she saw was Xu Qing swinging a knife at Xin Yao.

Instantly, Pei Yu’s mind went blank, the thread of reason almost snapping. It was as if she hadn’t thought of anything, yet she had thought of everything.

She was truly on the verge of losing control.

On the edge of a breakdown, Pei Yu flashed to Xin Yao’s side, shielding her in her arms, and grabbed the blade.

At that moment, she thought her expression must have been frightening, otherwise, why would even Xin Yao look at her with such terror?

Pei Yu hugged Xin Yao tightly, then stroked her head, trying to keep her voice calm. Then she pulled Xin Yao away, shielding her behind her back.
“Yao Yao, turn around. Don’t look at this filth.”

With that, she held the knife, her blood-red eyes dark and bloodthirsty, slowly taking a step closer to Xu Qing.

What had happened in those few short seconds seemed surreal to Xu Qing.

The stunningly beautiful woman opposite him had appeared out of thin air and grabbed his knife! The woman also had strange white hair and red eyes. What was she? A demon? Or a ghost?

And now, this unknown woman was walking towards him step by step!

Only then did Xu Qing realize what he had done in his frenzy. He released the knife handle in fear, staggering back, trying to escape.

Compared to his clownish demeanor, even on the verge of a breakdown, Pei Yu remained cold and elegant. She twirled the knife in her hand, her black high heels stepping in the blood-mixed rain.

    Tap, tap.

    She walked towards him.

Xu Qing’s heart was pounding. Looking at the cold, merciless eyes of the person before him, he felt that she would really kill him without hesitation!
“Who, who are you! Are you a demon?”

Pei Yu’s black dress dripped with water. She didn’t answer, just looked down at him.

Xu Qing completely lost it, turning and running frantically. However, as he ran, he looked up and found himself running in place. The woman was still behind him, watching him coldly.

Terror gripped his heart, and Xu Qing almost collapsed to the ground.

Just as he was about to fall like a loach, Pei Yu reached out from the void, gripping his neck, slowly tightening her grip. Even though there was still some distance between them, Xu Qing felt as if his neck was truly being choked. He was lifted into the air, his legs kicking wildly, his face turning purple.

Pei Yu’s face was expressionless, her voice as cold as winter snow.
    “You’re courting death.”

Then, like torture, she tightened her fingers one by one.

Xu Qing struggled like a dying fish, his movements becoming more frantic.

If this continued, he might really be strangled to death by Pei Yu.

Xin Yao, standing behind them, didn’t know what was happening. She only saw Pei Yu grab Xu Qing’s neck in the blink of an eye.

This was the second terrifying event of the night.

Without thinking, Xin Yao rushed forward, grabbing Pei Yu’s arm in panic.
“Pei Yu! Pei Yu, calm down!”

“I’m fine, I’m perfectly fine. Look at me, hmm?”

“It’s not worth it for someone like him.”

Pei Yu, her arm being pulled, turned her head. Looking at Xin Yao’s distressed face, she was pulled back to reality by her worried words and finally released her grip.

Xu Qing fell to the ground, gasping like a fish out of water, clutching his neck and coughing violently.

Xin Yao breathed a sigh of relief, clutching Pei Yu’s sleeve tightly.
“Pei Yu, let’s go back. Let’s call the police and hand him over to them.”

Knowing that Xin Yao was scared and worried about her, Pei Yu pulled her into a tight embrace.
    “Don’t be afraid. I’m here.”

“Just one last thing. Don’t worry, I won’t do anything reckless.”

Seeing that Pei Yu seemed calm on the surface, Xin Yao was afraid that if she refused, Pei Yu would secretly go and do something crazy, so she agreed.

In the gradually quieting rain, Pei Yu slowly walked to Xu Qing, squatted down, and said softly, her eyes cold, “I smell the scent of death on you, but that scent doesn’t exist in this world. How strange.”

“It seems you’ve done some bad things in other timelines as well. You truly are a dark, venomous insect.”

“In short, now, I will return to you the death you inflicted on others, one by one.”

It could be seen that Pei Yu’s abilities were related to time and space.
The scent of death she mentioned was her ability to perceive, across time, the harm Xu Qing had inflicted on the Xin family in the previous life.

Therefore, at this moment, Pei Yu returned to him all the evil he had caused.

The moment Pei Yu’s voice fell, from the previous life – Xin Ping’an’s pain before death, Xin Yao’s sister’s struggles as she died, Lao Xin’s collapse upon learning the truth while battling illness, and even all of Xin Wanyin’s despair – all reflected onto Xu Qing.

In just a second, he was in such agony that he convulsed, fully experiencing the fear and despair of four deaths superimposed on each other.

And from this moment on, every minute and every second of his life would be spent in this despair, with no escape from death.

Xu Qing, collapsed on the ground, began to scream, banging his head against the ground, leaving a pool of blood, and finally fainted.

Pei Yu glanced down, then stood up indifferently.

As she turned to Xin Yao, her eyes softened with emotion, filled with worry and fear. She pulled Xin Yao into a tight embrace.
    “I’m sorry, I’m so sorry.”

Xin Yao fell into this slightly trembling embrace, smelling the scent of cold rain on her, gradually regaining her composure. She wasn’t particularly brave, but she wasn’t cowardly either, and with Pei Yu by her side, she wasn’t so afraid anymore.

She reached out and hugged Pei Yu back.
“Why are you apologizing? It’s not your fault.”

Pei Yu’s fingers trembled as she hugged her. “I shouldn’t have left today. I should have stayed by your side.”

No one could stay by another person’s side forever. Xin Yao wrapped her arms around Pei Yu’s waist, wanting to say something.

But they were still outside, and the winter rain was bone-chilling.

Pei Yu, noticing her discomfort, used her demonic power to dispel the cold, holding Xin Yao’s hand and saying gently, “Let’s go back first.”

    Xin Yao nodded.

Then, ignoring Xu Qing still lying on the ground, they turned to walk home.

But just as they turned, another wave of trouble arose.

A cold voice came from behind them.
“Today’s youngsters are truly unscrupulous. At the very least – you should erase what shouldn’t be seen.”

Chapter 34: Transmigrated as the Abusive Story’s Cannon Fodder Female Supporting Character p2

After Pei Shuangshuang left, Pei Yu led Xin Yao to the VIP room upstairs.

Sitting on the luxurious sofa, Pei Yu turned and asked, “What did she say to you?”

Thinking carefully, Pei Shuangshuang hadn’t really said much. It was Xin Yao who, out of distress for Pei Yu, had lost control of her emotions several times.

Xin Yao had good intuition. She felt that Pei Shuangshuang wasn’t as hateful and disgusted with Pei Yu as Pei Yu thought.

Could it be that Pei Shuangshuang didn’t avoid Pei Yu out of hatred?

Lost in thought, Xin Yao shook her head. “Nothing much, just a brief chat.”

“Then don’t think about it,” Pei Yu said softly. “Don’t mind her, and don’t let it affect your mood.”

As she spoke, she took out a beautiful little gift box from her bag, placed it on the table, and opened the lid. Inside were plump, round candies. They were the wedding candies Pei Yu had just received from the bride.

Pei Yu never had any preference for food; it was just something to fill her stomach.

She had even less of a good impression of candy.

After she turned three, she was released from the basement. Old Man Pei, relying on her abilities, treated her well, giving her whatever she wanted.

    But that was all.

Back then, she was still young and sometimes couldn’t control her abilities, revealing her snake tail. The family relatives, the housekeepers, everyone who saw her was too afraid to approach her.

It was under those circumstances that Pei Yu first encountered candy. She heard it was something that made people happy.

At the time, she still held some expectations for her mother, thinking that since it was a good thing, she should give it to her.

The young snake held the candy in her hand and, swaying her tail, secretly went to find her mother.

However, three years had passed, and Pei Shuangshuang still hadn’t recovered, the former young woman now like a skeleton. She looked at the little monster appearing before her, her expression cold.

Pei Yu couldn’t even distinguish emotions now, let alone back then.
She just swayed her tail and ran over, handing the candy she had been holding to Pei Shuangshuang: “Mother, sweet.”

Pei Shuangshuang suddenly went crazy, grabbing a pillow from the bed and throwing it at her.
    “Monster! You monster! Get out!”

The nanny, alerted by the noise, rushed in. She wasn’t scared by Pei Yu but was startled by Pei Shuangshuang’s ferociousness. She quickly carried Pei Yu, who was curling her little snake tail, away.

Placed back in her room, the little snake was still confused, not knowing what had happened. She just held the candy, hiding in a corner.
    “Sweet, sweet.”

Then she put the candy in her mouth.

But at that time, she didn’t even know how to eat candy, biting into it with the wrapper still on.

She kept comforting herself, “Sweet, sweet.”

It wasn’t sweet at all. The first candy of her life was filled with bitterness.

From then on, Pei Yu never ate candy again.

The wedding candies she received today were something Pei Yu wouldn’t normally care about.
But the moment she saw them, she thought that someone like Xin Yao would probably like candy.

So, as if possessed, she brought the candy back and gave it to her.

As expected, Xin Yao’s eyes lit up the moment she saw the candy.

Candy was her favorite thing in the world!

    She clapped her hands excitedly.
“Great! More candy! I know that brand, it’s super expensive!”

Her eyes screamed, “I want to eat it, I want to eat it! Give it to me!”

Looking at her sparkling eyes, Pei Yu paused, then picked a random candy from the box and gave it to her.

Xin Yao became even happier. “Wow! How did you know my favorite is peach flavor?”

She tore open the wrapper and popped the candy into her mouth.

As the sweet taste spread across her palate, her expression became one of happy satisfaction. She then picked a strawberry-flavored one from the box and handed it to Pei Yu.
    “It’s so good! Try one.”

Xin Yao was always gentle and thoughtful. As she handed it over, she even peeled off the wrapper, bringing it directly to Pei Yu’s lips.

Pei Yu looked down at the glistening pink candy on Xin Yao’s fingertip, paused for two seconds, then opened her mouth and took it.

“How is it?” Xin Yao asked, her bright eyes smiling at her. “Is it good?”

In the sunlight, Pei Yu’s snow-white eyelashes slowly lifted, looking at Xin Yao beside her.

At that moment, the candy she had given her mother as a child and the candy she had just given Xin Yao, the things her mother had furiously thrown at her and Xin Yao’s soft hand receiving the candy, gradually overlapped.

Thus, her mother’s furious face from her childhood was finally covered by Xin Yao’s bright smile. The strange plastic taste of the wrapper in her memory was neutralized by the sweetness of the candy.

Xin Yao was still softly asking, “Is it good?”

Pei Yu thought for a moment. “It seems… not bad.”

Why could she always get positive feedback from her?

It was as if as long as she was with Xin Yao, she would always feel happiness and hope.

Thinking this, Pei Yu reached out and covered the candy box, stopping Xin Yao, who was trying to sneak another piece.

Xin Yao withdrew her hand, humming softly. “Stingy. You’re getting stingier, Pei Yu. Now I can’t even have a piece of your candy?”

“Next time,” Pei Yu lowered her eyes, putting the candy away. “Come back next time when you want to eat some.”

At that moment, she herself felt childishly thinking, If I always have candy, will you always come to me?

Turning her gaze, Pei Yu looked at Xin Yao sitting there. In the sunlight, Xin Yao was wearing a white dress, swinging her legs and chattering nonstop about Pei Yu’s stinginess.

Word by word, she made this otherwise meaningless morning become lively and boisterous.

And it made Pei Yu, sitting in the light, curve her lips into a soft smile.

It didn’t matter that the first candy of her life was bitter.

The second one would be sweet.

  • You’re Not Allowed to Kiss Me Anymore! [Quick Transmigration] 34p1

    Chapter 34 p1

Xin Yao and Pei Yu started living together.

Although they had occasionally spent nights together before, suddenly living together long-term took some getting used to.

Xin Yao often forgot about this fact.

    For example:
Sometimes, waking up in the middle of the night, she would vaguely see a person lying next to her in the dim light. And that person had a terrifyingly large snake tail! She’d be instantly terrified and, without thinking, kick the person out of bed!

Then, Pei Yu, having been unexpectedly kicked out of bed by her wife yet again, would sit up and look at Xin Yao. Not saying a word of complaint, just looking at her quietly.

Xin Yao would come to her senses under Pei Yu’s accusing gaze, apologetically scramble out of bed, crawl to Pei Yu’s side, and hug her.
“Sorry, sorry! I forgot we’re living together now!”

    Another example:
Xin Yao used to be the only one in the spacious house, so the bathroom was naturally hers alone to use whenever she pleased.

Even though Pei Yu had told her she was going to take a shower, Xin Yao, engrossed in her phone, would sometimes forget.

Walking to the bathroom door, she would habitually push it open.

The sound of water droplets hitting the floor echoed. Xin Yao looked up, startled, and saw Pei Yu’s porcelain-white skin and graceful figure under the warm light. The scene was captivating, causing her heart to race and her face to flush.

    Plop

A mischievous water droplet splashed onto Xin Yao’s face, slightly hot.

Xin Yao finally reacted, quickly turning around and covering her eyes.
“Sorry, sorry, I didn’t mean to! I forgot you were in there!”

She then slipped and almost ran away.

Just as she reached the door, the person inside grabbed her wrist. Because Pei Yu was showering, her hand was hot and damp, burning like a shackle as it wrapped around Xin Yao’s wrist.

She spoke softly, her usually cold voice now tinged with the warmth and mist of the shower, hazy and sensual.
    “Together?”

“I knew it!” Xin Yao clung to the doorframe, refusing to budge. “I just went to the wrong door! I don’t want to!”

From the depths of the snake-like bathroom, Pei Yu’s mischievous voice came.
“Miss Xin, there’s only one bathroom door in this house. How could you go to the wrong one? Lying will be punished.”

As she spoke, a snow-white, smooth, and enormous snake tail wrapped around Xin Yao’s waist and dragged her inside.

Then, Xin Yao’s scolding could be heard from within.
    “Pei Yu, you bastard!”

But soon, the scolding softened, eventually turning into soft pleas.

However, there were also times when Xin Yao felt Pei Yu’s presence intensely.

    For example:
Every morning, when she groggily woke up and went to the living room, she would see Pei Yu wearing her pink apron, cooking in the open kitchen. There would be a hot breakfast and warm milk waiting for her.

Hearing Xin Yao, Pei Yu would look up from the midst of the aroma and steam, her eyes gentle in the morning light.
“Morning. Go wash up and eat.”

Before, Xin Yao had been poor and busy, working tirelessly to pay off her debts, never having time to think about love, let alone marriage.

But at this moment, looking at Pei Yu standing in the reachable sunlight, she suddenly felt that this was what home should be like.

Peaceful, warm, and the first thing she saw every morning was the person she loved.

Xin Yao loved this feeling, the feeling of home. She always had a particular attachment to the idea of home.

But soon, this heartwarming feeling would dissipate.

Because Pei Yu was a beast, taking advantage of Xin Yao’s soft heart during her vulnerable phase. She would constantly act coquettishly, wanting intimacy almost every day, leaving Xin Yao unable to get out of bed.

Xin Yao’s house had underfloor heating.

Sometimes, when she came home from work, she would be tackled to the ground, right onto the carpet, by the restless giant snake waiting for her.

Xin Yao would lie on her back, looking at the white snake tail between her legs in the hazy light, her lips slightly parted, as if crying and pleading, her voice almost lost several times.

The price was being late for work the next day.

Fortunately, her family owned the company, and she was the boss, so no one could say anything!

Then, as she wearily sat down in her office chair, Xin Yao would suddenly realize, “Ah, so I’m the one who’s ‘the emperor who doesn’t attend court’ now!”

In this state, their peaceful yet chaotic cohabitation continued for half a month.

During this half-month, Pei Yu worked from Xin Yao’s home. Gradually, her vulnerable phase began to ease, and Xin Yao could leave her for a while without any issues.

Coincidentally, during this time, Pei Yu received a wedding invitation. The bride’s family were close business partners of the Pei Corporation. Pei Yu was usually quite serious about work. If she hadn’t been in her vulnerable phase, she would have attended, but recently she didn’t want to leave Xin Yao’s side.

Xin Yao, however, was quite interested. She had never been to a wedding before.

Seeing the invitation on Pei Yu’s desk, she asked curiously, “When is it? Aren’t you going?”

Pei Yu easily understood her interest and said, “Do you want to go together?”

“Eh?” Xin Yao, who loved to join in the fun, was pleasantly surprised. “Can I go too?”

“Of course,” Pei Yu looked at her gently. “I can’t leave you now.”

    Three days later.

The wedding was held on a warm island in the country. It was said to be the groom’s family’s private island, a grand affair in a warm climate.

Pei Yu was a quiet person, and when she was with her wife, she disliked being disturbed by others. Most people in the industry knew her temperament, so almost no one came to greet or chat with them.

She and Xin Yao nestled in a corner, chatting.

The sun was beautiful today. Xin Yao was wearing a white strapless dress, and at this moment, she was leaning weakly against the table.
“I’m done for. I think I ate too many cupcakes. Hiccup. I won’t be able to eat lunch later! Hiccup.”

Pei Yu’s eyes softened as she came over and gently patted Xin Yao’s back.
“I told you to eat less.”

“But the cupcakes were so delicious! Hiccup!” Feeling really uncomfortable, Xin Yao tugged at Pei Yu’s sleeve. “Help! Don’t you have some kind of magic that can poof make the food in my stomach disappear?”

Pei Yu paused her patting. “So you can eat more, and I can make it disappear again?”

“Then I can keep eating and try all the desserts today!” Xin Yao exclaimed, slapping her forehead. “Am I a genius or what?”

Before meeting Xin Yao, Pei Yu, a seemingly emotionless creature, never experienced such amusing moments. She looked at Xin Yao with gentle eyes, wanting to say something.

Just then, polite greetings came from not far away. They looked back and saw the bride, groom, and some business partners of the Pei Corporation. They were all important figures, so Pei Yu had to go and greet them.

Xin Yao initially wanted to go with her since Pei Yu was still in her vulnerable phase. But Pei Yu was worried that Xin Yao wouldn’t like such occasions, and since she wasn’t feeling well, she said, “Wait for me here. I’ll be back soon.”

Xin Yao didn’t insist. After Pei Yu left, she leaned against the table, admiring the island scenery.

She noticed the person standing by the tree with a casual glance. She had already looked away, but suddenly remembered something and slowly turned back to look.

Under a coconut tree, against the backdrop of the blue sea and sky, stood a beautiful woman in a long dress, seemingly middle-aged, but well-maintained, showing few signs of aging.

However, it wasn’t the woman’s beauty that surprised Xin Yao. What made her freeze, her fingers stiffening slightly, was the realization that the woman standing there was none other than Pei Yu’s mother, Pei Shuangshuang.

    Why was she here?

Was she also invited to the wedding? Or was she here to see Pei Yu?

Xin Yao straightened up from her somewhat lazy posture.

Unexpectedly, while Xin Yao was looking at Pei Shuangshuang, Pei Shuangshuang seemed to be looking at her too. Their eyes met for a second in the sea breeze, and then Pei Shuangshuang lifted her skirt and walked towards Xin Yao.

Step by step, her long dress swayed in the light until she reached Xin Yao.

It seemed she really was coming towards her.

As she got closer, Xin Yao could see Pei Shuangshuang’s face more clearly. After so many years, she was still beautiful, but she no longer had the vibrancy and liveliness of before. She looked tired, her eyes misty. Her voice, however, was gentle.
    “Hello.”

Seeing her, Xin Yao remembered the scenes from the memory flashback, her feelings complex. On the surface, she remained calm and replied politely, “Hello.”

Pei Shuangshuang didn’t reply immediately. She stood there, looking at Xin Yao for a moment in the morning sun, before speaking.
“Are you and Pei Yu friends?”

    What did this question mean?

For so many years, hadn’t she refused to see Pei Yu? Why did she suddenly appear now, asking such a strange question?

Xin Yao couldn’t help but remember the mother in her memories who hated her and her child, and she remembered Pei Yu being drowned. She clenched her hand at her side and looked at Pei Shuangshuang firmly, shaking her head.
“No, we’re not friends. I’m Pei Yu’s girlfriend, Xin Yao.”

Pei Shuangshuang was stunned, seemingly never having considered the possibility of Pei Yu having a girlfriend. Then she chuckled softly.
    “You know what she is…”

Her voice was low, but Xin Yao heard it!

Her attitude really irritated Xin Yao.

So what if Pei Yu was a demon? Did that mean she couldn’t be loved?

Unable to hold back, Xin Yao interrupted, “I know.”

Pei Shuangshuang’s ambiguous smile froze, and she looked up at Xin Yao.

Xin Yao was also looking at her, her bright eyes burning like fire.
“I also know who you are. You’re Ms. Pei Shuangshuang, right? I want to tell you that I know everything about Pei Yu.”

“You know and you still dare to be with her?” Pei Shuangshuang’s smile faded, her eyes unreadable. “Aren’t you afraid?”

Xin Yao didn’t even hesitate. “I’m not afraid.”

    She spoke with such conviction.

At this moment, looking at Xin Yao’s stubborn face, Pei Shuangshuang suddenly saw her younger self and chuckled.
“Before you meet her, everyone thinks they’re brave.”

“You say that now, but you haven’t reached that point yet. If you don’t have enough courage, I advise you to stay away from her. Otherwise, you’ll only bring her sorrow.”

So, was it because she lacked courage that she stayed away from Pei Yu?

But Xin Yao didn’t ask. She simply replied firmly, “I do.”

Pei Shuangshuang shook her head with a smile, saying nothing.

This made Xin Yao feel frustrated, not for herself, but for Pei Yu.

Pei Yu was emotionally reserved and never proactively talked about her past, so her pain was never known. Those painful years were buried in darkness, sinking day by day, unnoticed even by herself, buried, and finally disappearing in the wind.

Xin Yao didn’t want them to disappear just like that, unnoticed. She also knew that if she didn’t speak, the person in front of her would never know.

So she stepped forward and looked into Pei Shuangshuang’s eyes.
“I think I’m at least a little braver than you. And I’ve always had a question: Why don’t you see Pei Yu? Do you hate her, or are you afraid of her?”

“I know more than you think,” Xin Yao’s eyes reddened slightly. “At least I know something you don’t. Pei Yu has had memories since birth.”

“So she remembers you calling her a monster, remembers the Pei family’s cruelty, and remembers every second of being drowned.”

Xin Yao hadn’t known this initially. Nuan Nuan had told her later, and she had secretly cried for a long time, heartbroken.

Similarly, Pei Shuangshuang didn’t know this. Xin Yao’s words hit her hard, her eyes widening in disbelief. Finally, she seemed about to collapse, opening her mouth to say something.

At that moment, heavy footsteps sounded from behind.

Xin Yao’s hand was suddenly grabbed. She looked up in surprise and saw Pei Yu standing in front of her, her back a reassuring presence.

Pei Yu shielded Xin Yao, frowning at Pei Shuangshuang, her expression serious. Facing her own mother, she showed a hint of defensiveness. Of course, on the surface, she remained polite and distant.
    “Hello.”

“If you have anything to say, tell me directly.”

Simply put: If you have a problem, come to me, don’t touch her.

Xin Yao peeked out from behind Pei Yu, glaring like a little lion.

The two were completely united, seemingly guarding against her, the outsider.

This was her and her daughter’s first meeting after many years, inexplicably strange and unpleasant.

Pei Shuangshuang’s shocked expression softened, and she chuckled, turning and leaving without a word.

The snake clan, truly a breed of sentimental creatures.

  • You’re Not Allowed to Kiss Me Anymore! [Quick Transmigration] 33p2

Chapter 33: Transmigrated as the Abusive Story’s Cannon Fodder Female Supporting Character p2

[Wealthy Heiress Xin Wanyin Targeted by Gold-Digging Scumbag]

    Gold-digger? Was that about him?

His head spinning, he clicked on the link with trembling fingers.

A long article appeared on the screen.

[Hello everyone, I’m Xin Wanyin. It’s been a while. I wonder how many of you still remember me?

I apologize for disappearing these past two years. I’m sorry to my fans, to those who care about me, and to myself.

I’m here today to tell you something.

First, I want to apologize to Mr. Chen Mu. I shouldn’t have criticized your acting. I’m sorry.

I was naive back then, thinking I was so great, looking down on everyone. Now, looking back, I realize I was the foolish one.

Thank you, Mr. Chen Mu, for being the first to comfort me, for telling me not to worry about it.

But honestly, that was a very dark time for me.

Every day, I would open my phone and see countless hateful comments. I even thought about ending my life.

Even now, I still shudder at the memory of those days.

It was during that time that I met my boyfriend, Xu Qing.

He pulled me out of the darkness, showed me the light, reminded me what it meant to be alive.

I loved him so much. He was my savior, my everything.

But recently, I discovered that our love story was a carefully constructed lie.

My boyfriend, Xu Qing, long before we even met, had hired someone to follow me, to take pictures of my daily life.

Then, he scoured my private social media account, finding a single comment where I had criticized an actor’s performance, and used it to launch a smear campaign against me, using trolls to bully me online, driving me to quit the industry, driving me to the brink of suicide.

Then, he appeared in my life, pretending to be my savior, manipulating my emotions.

The person I loved most was the one who pushed me into darkness.

He trampled on me, made me feel worthless, then picked me up and told me he was the only one who would ever love me.

So, in that relationship, I was controlled by him, afraid to be myself.

I became a worse version of myself. I lost myself.

Even now, thinking about it, I still shudder.

I’m sharing this today not only to seek closure for myself and expose this scumbag, but also to warn others to be careful, to avoid being manipulated.

    Love yourself first.

I will be suing Xu Qing…]

The article clearly detailed Xu Qing’s manipulation, his orchestration of the online bullying campaign, his deceitful pursuit of Xin Wanyin, and his emotional abuse.

While Xin Wanyin had been out of the spotlight for a few years, she still had a following.

And the mention of her father, the owner of Xin Corp, resonated with many netizens, some of whom lived in Xin Corp properties or shopped at their malls.

The comments section was filled with messages of support, calling her “sister.”

And the details of Xu Qing’s manipulation were truly terrifying.

Many netizens, imagining themselves in Xin Wanyin’s position, being manipulated and abused, felt a chill run down their spines.

The article, amplified by Xin Corp and Pei Corp’s social media presence, quickly went viral.

Xu Qing, reading the article at his desk, his face pale and his body trembling, was also stunned.

How could Xin Wanyin know? It was impossible!

He jumped up, knocking his chair over, the loud crash startling his colleagues.

He grabbed his coat and rushed out of the office.

As he walked down the street, his head bowed, his expression frantic, he felt like everyone was staring at him, judging him.

But Xin Wanyin hadn’t revealed his identity. It was all in his head. His colleagues were simply speculating.

Ironically, while Xin Wanyin had endured relentless online abuse, he couldn’t even handle a few stares.

He wasn’t going anywhere else but to find Xin Wanyin and explain.

He arrived at the film set and, without thinking, barged in, demanding to see Xin Wanyin.

    The security guards stopped him.

“Hey, hey, hey! Where do you think you’re going?!”

Xu Qing struggled against their grip, his face contorted in desperation.

“Let me in! I need to see someone!”

The commotion drew the attention of the crew, and Xu Qing saw Xin Wanyin standing among them.

She was dressed in a bright red costume, a white fur cloak draped over her shoulders, a small hand warmer clutched in her hand, her hair styled elegantly, her beauty breathtaking.

Her gaze, cool and indifferent, met his.

    She had seen him!

Xu Qing struggled even harder. “Wanyin! Xin Wanyin! Let me explain!”

But the woman who had always greeted him with a smile, who had always run towards him, simply stood there, her expression unchanged.

Then, she turned and walked away, without a backward glance.

The security guards dragged Xu Qing away.

“Sir, if you don’t leave, we’ll call the police!”

He was thrown out like a dog.

And film sets were notorious for gossip.

Someone immediately uploaded a video of the incident online.

[Shocking! Scumbag Ex-Boyfriend Begs for Forgiveness! (Click here to watch the video!)]

    The comments section exploded.

[I was there! He was literally on his knees, begging her to take him back! The security guards threw him out!]

[He’s not even that good-looking! She can do better!]

    [Sister, don’t limit yourself!]

    [He’s terrifying! So manipulative!]

[First he scams your feelings, then your money, next he’ll try to kill you!]

[He looks like a bad guy!]

Every comment, every word, was like a knife twisting in Xu Qing’s heart.

He sat on the curb, reading the comments, his hands clenching into fists, the veins throbbing. Then, in a fit of rage, he threw his phone onto the ground.

But later, back home, lying in bed, he still didn’t think he had done anything wrong.

He wondered how Xin Wanyin had found out.

And how he could continue his revenge.

He drifted off to sleep, his mind a jumble of confused thoughts.

When he woke up, he picked up his cracked phone, and a barrage of notifications almost made it vibrate off the nightstand.

Countless messages, filled with hate and vitriol.

The male lead’s fans, whom he had manipulated, were now unleashing their fury on him.

His clients had cancelled their contracts, his boss furious, bombarding him with angry phone calls.

Women who had experienced similar abuse, righteous strangers, everyone was talking about him, condemning him.

He threw his phone across the room, burying his face in his hands, his fingers digging into his scalp.

He had used public opinion to destroy Xin Wanyin. Now, it was his turn to experience the same fate.

But these foolish people, they didn’t understand what he had been through!

The Xin family had ruined his life! Taken everything from him!

    The Xin family…

That’s right! It was all their fault! If he exposed their crimes, everyone would understand!

He picked up his phone, his fingers trembling as he started to type.

Just then, he saw the trending topics.

[Xin Corp Releases Statement, Revealing the Truth]

[Shocking! Xin Corp Defrauded by Former Employee]

    [Should Good People Be Exploited?]

[Scumbag Ex-Boyfriend’s True Motive: Revenge and Murder]

Overwhelmed by the sudden influx of information, Xu Qing’s mind went blank. He mechanically clicked on the first trending topic.

A statement from Xin Corp’s legal department appeared on the screen.

[Regarding the Death of Former Employee Xu Jun

On [date], our employee, Mr. Xu, fell to his death while working at height. We followed proper procedures and provided full compensation to his family.

However, rumors persisted, alleging that his death was caused by negligence on our part, causing significant damage to our company’s reputation.

Recently, we discovered that Mr. Xu’s death was a suicide, motivated by financial gain.

We have reported this matter to the police and provided all relevant evidence.]

Below the statement was a new post from Xin Wanyin.

[Oh, and one more terrifying detail.

My ex-boyfriend, Xu Qing, is the son of the deceased worker, Xu Jun.

Why do you think he pursued me so relentlessly? What was he thinking, looking at me every day?]

The netizens’ imaginations ran wild, speculating about Xu Qing’s motives.

But it all boiled down to one thing: a son seeking revenge for his father, targeting a wealthy heiress, plotting to ruin her life and perhaps even kill her.

Which, of course, had been Xu Qing’s intention all along.

This new twist, however, was even more sensational, elevating the story from a simple case of heartbreak to a tale of revenge and murder.

It was a juicy piece of gossip, each revelation more shocking than the last.

As Xin Wanyin had said, who knew what the scumbag had been thinking, looking at her every day?

The internet exploded with discussions and speculation.

And Xu Qing was about to explode as well.

His entire life had been driven by a single purpose: revenge for his father.

And now they were telling him that his father had committed suicide for money?

    It was impossible!

Then what had his life been about? A joke?!

His father would never do such a thing!

Xu Qing gripped his hair, his face red with rage, his eyes bloodshot.

His world was crumbling around him. If this was true, what was the point of living?

No, it had to be a lie! The Xin family was lying!

    He had to confront them.

He stumbled out of bed and yanked open the door.

Bright sunlight streamed in, revealing two police officers standing outside, their expressions serious.

“Mr. Xu, you’ve been accused of corporate espionage by several companies. Please come with us.”

Pei Yu sat on the sofa, Xin Yao resting her head on Pei Yu’s lap, her eyes closed, watching the scene unfold in her mind through the system’s connection.

She didn’t feel a sense of triumph, or even happiness.

Just a sense of closure, for Xin Wanyin’s sister and Xin Ping’an.

A calm female voice on the television was reporting the news about Xin Corp, the background noise slightly muffled.

Pei Yu picked up a strawberry and held it to Xin Yao’s lips.

    “What are you thinking about?”

Xin Yao took a bite of the strawberry, its sweetness spreading through her mouth. She looked at Pei Yu’s beautiful, sparkling eyes.

    And then she froze.

The thought she had been avoiding, the inevitable truth, echoed in her mind, amplified by the news report.

Xin Wanyin and Xu Qing had broken up. Xu Qing would soon face the consequences of his actions. Their paths would never cross again.

This meant that Xin Yao’s mission was complete. She would soon be leaving this world.

    Leaving Pei Yu.

The sweetness of the strawberry turned bitter in her mouth.

She stared at Pei Yu’s eyes, her own gaze filled with a sudden, overwhelming sadness.

What would happen to Pei Yu when she left?

Could Pei Yu live in a world without her?

Just then, the doorbell rang, interrupting her thoughts.

Xin Yao snapped out of her daze, swallowing the strawberry and mechanically sitting up, rubbing her face.

She stood up and walked towards the door.

But Pei Yu grabbed her wrist, her grip tight, her eyes, narrowed and almost reptilian, filled with a sudden anxiety.

    “Don’t go,” she said.

Xin Yao paused, realizing the extent of Pei Yu’s vulnerability. “Don’t worry, I’m just getting the food delivery.”

Then, unsure of her own motives, whether to prepare Pei Yu for the inevitable or simply to distance herself, she said softly, “What will you do when I’m gone?”

The word “gone” seemed to trigger something within Pei Yu. Her eyes darkened, her grip tightening.

Xin Yao almost thought she was about to kiss her.

But she didn’t. Pei Yu simply stood up and pulled Xin Yao into a gentle embrace.

“Don’t say such things. You’re not going anywhere.”

Xin Yao buried her face in Pei Yu’s chest, her voice muffled.

“But what if, one day, I really do leave?”

    “Then I’ll follow you.”

“What if it’s a place you can’t go?”

Pei Yu stroked her hair, her touch gentle.

But her eyes, hidden in the shadows, were like a gathering storm.

She leaned closer, whispering in Xin Yao’s ear, “Then I’ll do whatever it takes to bring you back.”

    If that day ever comes…

Yaoyao, don’t blame me if I become a monster. I don’t know what I’ll do.

I only know that, even if you cry and beg me to let you go, I won’t.

  • You’re Not Allowed to Kiss Me Anymore! [Quick Transmigration] 33p1

Chapter 33: Transmigrated as the Abusive Story’s Cannon Fodder Female Supporting Character p1

Pei Yu’s voice was pleasant to the ear, like the clinking of ice in a glass, cool and clear.

But in the empty hallway outside Xin Yao’s apartment, it sounded amplified, almost echoing.

The sound startled Xin Yao, snapping her out of her thoughts. She quickly put away her phone and rushed towards the figure huddled on her doorstep.

Kneeling down before Pei Yu, the hem of her warm yellow coat pooling on the floor, she reached out and touched Pei Yu’s face. It was icy cold.

Pei Yu was wearing Xin Yao’s oversized shirt and a pair of thin black pants, her feet bare against the cold floor.

    How had she gotten here?

Had something happened? Why was she sitting outside Xin Yao’s door like this?

Xin Yao took off her scarf and wrapped it gently around Pei Yu’s neck.

“Why are you here? You know my door code, don’t you? Why didn’t you come in? You could have just called me.”

The warm scarf, carrying Xin Yao’s scent, covered half of Pei Yu’s face. She nuzzled against it, inhaling deeply.

It was Xin Yao’s scent, the scent of life.

It had been days since Pei Yu had last seen Xin Yao. Now, with Xin Yao right there before her, a wave of vulnerability washed over her, making it hard to breathe.

Demons didn’t cry. As a cold-blooded creature, Pei Yu had no tears.

But in this moment, she felt the urge to cry.

She had missed Xin Yao so much.

She reached out and pulled Xin Yao into a tight embrace, burying her face in her shoulder, inhaling the citrus scent of her shampoo, her voice soft.

“I don’t know what I’m doing. I just suddenly missed you, so I came.”

Pei Yu often told Xin Yao that she missed her.

But usually, her emotions were under control, her words, though intimate, delivered with a calm rationality.

Today was different. Held tightly in Pei Yu’s embrace, Xin Yao felt a strange vulnerability in the usually aloof and composed CEO.

Despite her impassive expression, it felt like she was seeking comfort, like a sad, lonely puppy.

Xin Yao couldn’t resist. She hugged Pei Yu back, gently stroking her back.

“It’s okay. Are you cold? You’re not even wearing shoes. Let’s go inside.”

Pei Yu nodded, then stood up, letting Xin Yao lead her inside.

Dressed in Xin Yao’s clothes, her bare feet padding softly against the floor, her head bowed, she looked like a lost child, obediently following her mate.

Once inside, Xin Yao poured Pei Yu a cup of warm water, then, seeing her snake tail, retrieved a blanket and draped it over her.

After some questioning, she finally understood the reason for Pei Yu’s unusual behavior: she was in her vulnerable phase.

During this phase, a demon’s powers weakened, and their emotional state became fragile, their dependence on their partner intensifying.

In short: not seeing their mate made them want to cry.

    Xin Yao gasped, surprised.

Pei Yu was already clingy. This phase would be unbearable.

But she couldn’t bring herself to reject Pei Yu, who looked like she was about to burst into tears.

A crying Pei Yu was a terrifying thought.

Come to think of it, Xin Yao had never seen Pei Yu smile.

Her emotions were like a frozen river, rarely seen.

    But that wasn’t important.

What mattered was how to deal with Pei Yu’s current state.

Xin Yao was worried. “How dependent are we talking about? Can you even go to work tomorrow?”

Pei Yu, her gaze fixed on Xin Yao’s face, clutched the warm cup in her hands, remaining silent.

Xin Yao understood. She lowered her expectations.

    “Can you sleep alone?”

This time, Pei Yu shook her head without hesitation.

    Seriously? Was she lying?

Was it really that bad? Would she be unable to bear being even a step away from Xin Yao?

What was she supposed to do?

Xin Yao, unable to refuse Pei Yu’s pleading gaze, hesitated.

    “Then… should we live together?”

Pei Yu’s eyes lit up, her beautiful gaze sparkling like candy.

But beneath the surface, a current of possessiveness and control flickered in her eyes.

Even in her vulnerable phase, she was still a dangerous predator.

Just as she was about to speak, the doorbell rang, interrupting them.

Who would be visiting at this hour?

Xin Yao turned to look at the door.

Pei Yu grabbed her hand, as if afraid of losing her attention.

Xin Yao glanced back at the door.

The visitor, seemingly in a hurry, rang the doorbell repeatedly.

Xin Yao’s head swiveled back and forth, her neck starting to ache.

She decided to deal with the clingy snake demon first.

She looked at Pei Yu’s white snake tail.

    “Can you retract your tail?”

Unfortunately, in her vulnerable phase, Pei Yu couldn’t control her transformations. She shook her head, her lips pressed together.

    “I can’t.”

“Then there’s nothing we can do, baby,” Xin Yao said, gently stroking Pei Yu’s face. “Why don’t you wait in my room?”

Pei Yu looked at her, her gaze silent yet accusatory.

It was as if she was saying, “Someone’s here, and you’re hiding me away? How cruel.”

    Xin Yao almost gave in.

But playing the victim wasn’t Pei Yu’s forte. Xin Yao, however, was an expert.

She took Pei Yu’s hand, her eyes soft and pleading.

“I’ll just see who it is, okay?”

Her voice, slightly trembling, tugged at Pei Yu’s heartstrings. The snake demon, reluctant to be separated from her mate, finally nodded.

Xin Yao led her to the bedroom, sat her down on the bed, and kissed her forehead.

    “I’ll be right back.”

She turned to leave, but after taking a few steps, she heard a rustling sound behind her. She turned to see Pei Yu following her.

    So clingy!

Xin Yao sighed, then stood on tiptoe and kissed Pei Yu quickly.

    “Wait for me.”

Finally free from the clingy snake demon, Xin Yao returned to the living room, the doorbell still ringing incessantly.

She opened the door, and the motion-sensor light illuminated the impatient visitor: Xin Wanyin.

“What are you doing here at this hour?”

Xin Wanyin, never one for pleasantries, barged in, pouring herself a glass of water and gulping it down.

“What were you doing? Why did it take you so long to open the door?”

She slammed the glass down on the table.

“That bastard Xu Qing! I’m going to kill him!”

The dog system, in Xin Yao’s mind, scoffed.

    [I’m not eating him!]

Xin Yao chuckled, covering her mouth with her hand.

“What happened? This is so sudden.”

Xin Wanyin’s voice was filled with rage. “That son of a bitch has been playing me all along! Since university! He had someone following me, taking pictures! He’s disgusting!”

The dog system couldn’t help but comment.

[This girl really likes using the word “dog,” doesn’t she?]

Xin Yao shook her head. “Didn’t I tell you he wasn’t a good person? Do you believe me now?”

“Sister,” Xin Wanyin pouted, her eyes filled with a mix of resentment and gratitude, “thank goodness for you. And Liu Yue.”

    Hmm?

Xin Yao raised an eyebrow, surprised. “Liu Yue? How do you know her?”

“Well, it’s a long story,” Xin Wanyin said, then hesitated. “I’ll tell you later.”

“Anyway, I hired her to investigate, and it turns out that Xu Qing joined our company to steal our financial information! And after he left, every company he interviewed with had ties to Xin Corp!”

“That bastard was trying to ruin us! That’s corporate espionage!”

“And?” Xin Yao picked up Pei Yu’s teacup and took a sip. “You didn’t come here just to rant, did you?”

Xin Wanyin slammed her hand on the table. “Just you wait! I’m not letting him get away with this! Oh, and Sister, do you have any proof that his father actually committed suicide?”

    Xin Yao did.

After the time-reversal vision with Pei Yu, she had been looking for evidence.

While it had been a long time, money could buy anything, especially with Pei Yu’s help.

They had managed to recover two video recordings, one of which clearly showed the entire incident.

Xin Yao kept the recording in a safe in her bedroom.

Hearing Xin Wanyin’s question, she instinctively glanced towards her bedroom.

    And then she almost screamed.

The bedroom door, which had been closed, was now slightly ajar.

A beautiful face, half-hidden in the shadows, its eyes dark and intense, was peering through the gap.

    It was terrifying.

After a moment, Xin Yao realized it was Pei Yu.

She glared at her. Couldn’t she even wait?

Sensing Xin Yao’s displeasure, Pei Yu quickly retreated, closing the door, pretending she hadn’t been watching.

Xin Yao turned back to Xin Wanyin. “You need it?”

“Yes!” Xin Wanyin nodded firmly. “Leave it to me, Sister. I’ve already discussed it with Dad. I won’t let you down this time.”

Xin Yao, relieved by her sister’s determination, nodded and went to retrieve the recording.

As she reached the bedroom door, she thought of Pei Yu inside, a mix of amusement and exasperation filling her. She slipped inside, quickly closing the door behind her.

The moment the door clicked shut, before she could even see her surroundings clearly, she was pressed against the door and kissed.

Sharp teeth grazed her lips, prying them open, a tongue slipping inside.

Perhaps due to her vulnerability, the kiss was deeper and more passionate than usual.

Xin Yao’s legs weakened, and she clung to Pei Yu’s neck for support.

Pei Yu’s arms wrapped around her waist, her hands gently kneading her skin.

The warmth of her touch sent shivers down Xin Yao’s spine. She let out a soft moan, then quickly covered her mouth.

    “My sister’s still out there!”

She tried to push Pei Yu away.

Pei Yu, however, was reluctant to let her go, her fingers tracing Xin Yao’s wrist, her lips seeking hers again.

“You…” Xin Yao gasped, turning her head away. “Can’t you even wait?”

“No,” Pei Yu murmured, her gaze fixed on Xin Yao’s face, her voice husky. “I missed you too much.”

The three words silenced Xin Yao, her ears turning pink. She gently pushed Pei Yu away and went to retrieve the recording.

She knelt in front of the safe, her voice barely above a whisper.

“So… are you moving in with me, or am I moving in with you?”

Pei Yu looked up, her answer immediate.

    “I’ll move in with you.”

She wanted to take Xin Yao to her own territory, to hide her away, but her apartment was cold and empty. And the thought of living in a space filled with Xin Yao’s scent was appealing.

Xin Yao chuckled, nodding as she stood up, ready to give Xin Wanyin the recording.

Just as she reached for the doorknob, Pei Yu grabbed her arm, turning her around and kissing her, her lips pressing against Xin Yao’s before she could even react.

Even this brief separation was unbearable, the kiss deepening with a desperate urgency.

Xin Yao wrapped her arms around Pei Yu’s neck, their embrace silent and passionate.

Finally, knowing she had to leave, she gently pushed Pei Yu away.

Pei Yu, still clinging to her, kissed her again.

Xin Yao, turning her head away, smiled, her voice a soft murmur.

“Be good. I’ll be back as soon as I give Wanyin the recording.”

Fortunately, Pei Yu, her rationality restored, understood that Xin Yao had something important to do. She let her go.

Their gazes lingered, then finally broke apart.

The door clicked shut behind Xin Yao, and she breathed a sigh of relief, as if she had just emerged from a battle.

Afraid that Xin Wanyin would notice her slightly disheveled appearance, she pulled up the collar of her sweater, covering the faint marks on her neck.

Xin Wanyin, however, was too consumed by her anger to notice. She took the recording from Xin Yao, a cold smile playing on her lips.

“Just you wait, Xu Qing! You and your entire family!”

“I’ll be in touch, Sister! Wish me luck!”

She left as abruptly as she had arrived, the door slamming shut behind her.

Xin Yao sat on the sofa, watching the door, her mind counting down.

    One, two, three.

A rustling sound came from behind her.

Without turning around, she looked up.

In the dim light, she saw Pei Yu’s face drawing closer, her white hair falling around her face as she leaned down.

Xin Yao reached out, her fingers gently tracing Pei Yu’s beautiful features, her voice soft.

    “So clingy, President Pei.”

Pei Yu bent down and kissed her.

    “Mm-hmm.”

Lately, Pei Yu had started to fear the thought of Xin Yao leaving, disappearing from her life.

Fueled by anger and a deep-seated resentment, Xin Wanyin acted quickly.

Three days after receiving the recording, Xin Yao saw her counterattack.

It was a beautiful sunny day, a rare break from the constant snow.

Xu Qing went to work as usual.

But as he approached the office building, he felt a strange unease.

People were staring at him, their gazes curious and unfriendly, whispering amongst themselves.

The familiar scene made his heart pound. He frowned, quickening his pace.

He stopped at the company bulletin board, scanning the notices. Seeing nothing unusual, he breathed a sigh of relief.

But as he continued walking, passing by his colleagues’ desks, the stares intensified.

    He was confused.

Just then, a colleague he usually worked with approached him.

She was a cool, stylish woman with dark blue hair. She slammed a report onto his desk, her gaze condescending.

    “Finish this today.”

Xu Qing frowned, about to say something, but she had already turned and walked away, her voice echoing behind her, filled with disdain.

    “Scumbag.”

Xu Qing had had enough of the strange behavior. He was about to confront her when a male colleague approached him, his face filled with curiosity.

“Dude, you’re a real piece of work. Did you really do that?”

Xu Qing turned to him, his brow furrowed. “What are you talking about?”

His colleague looked even more surprised. “You don’t know? Check the trending topics.”

A sense of foreboding washed over Xu Qing. He quickly opened his laptop and searched.

The words on the screen, illuminated by the morning light, made his blood run cold.

A single word dominated the trending topics: Exploding.

  • You’re Not Allowed to Kiss Me Anymore! [Quick Transmigration] 32

Chapter 32: Transmigrated as the Abusive Story’s Cannon Fodder Female Supporting Character

They almost did it in the office.

After the secretary left, Pei Yu’s kiss deepened, becoming fierce and possessive, her lips pressing against Xin Yao’s like a predator claiming its prey.

The kiss trailed down Xin Yao’s neck, the force of Pei Yu’s embrace pulling a button loose from her blouse.

The pearl button clattered to the floor.

Xin Yao’s neckline slipped, revealing the smooth, white skin beneath.

The snake demon’s eyes darkened, and she lifted Xin Yao onto the desk, her lips finding Xin Yao’s again, the kiss deepening.

The cool surface of the desk against Xin Yao’s skin, the contrasting warmth of Pei Yu’s body, sent shivers down her spine.

Her legs wrapped around Pei Yu’s waist, her arms around her neck, her fingers digging into the fabric of Pei Yu’s coat.

In their passionate embrace, they accidentally knocked over the coffee cup.

The brown liquid splashed onto the expensive carpet.

Pei Yu, ignoring the mess, lifted Xin Yao’s skirt, her head dipping towards the exposed skin.

Xin Yao, however, still retained some semblance of propriety. She covered Pei Yu’s mouth with her hand, her eyes, half-closed, glancing at Pei Yu playfully.

“President Pei, isn’t this a bit inappropriate?”

Pei Yu looked up at her, her white eyelashes fluttering, her red eyes filled with desire.

Xin Yao, slightly intimidated by her gaze, covered her chest and gently pushed Pei Yu away, jumping off the desk.

“We’re still at your company! There are people outside! We can’t do this here!”

Pei Yu paused, then stood up, her head bowed slightly, her white hair falling around her face, her expression unreadable.

    Was she… sulking?

    Xin Yao’s heart softened.

She stepped closer, taking Pei Yu’s hand and gently squeezing it.

“We can do it when we get home tonight.”

Pei Yu leaned closer, her lips brushing against Xin Yao’s ear.

    “Can’t we go home now?”

“President Pei!” Xin Yao rolled her eyes, pulling her hand away. “Please focus on your work.”

If this person lived in ancient times, she would be the type of ruler who neglected their duties for their lover.

Thanks to Xin Yao’s refusal, President Pei somehow managed to endure until they were both home.

After Xin Yao left, Pei Yu spent the rest of the day in a state of restless anticipation, every minute dragging on, yet each second filled with a growing excitement for the evening.

The moment the clock struck six, she left the office and headed straight to Xin Yao’s apartment.

The evening sun was warm and bright, its golden light reflecting off the car windows and onto Pei Yu’s face.

She glanced out the window at the bustling city, the sunlight cheerful and inviting.

Suddenly, on her way to see the person she longed for, gazing at the vibrant sunlight, thinking of Xin Yao, the cold-blooded demon felt a flicker of understanding of what it meant to be alive.

Having shared such a vulnerable and intimate moment, their relationship had deepened.

While unspoken, their interactions resembled those of a couple in love.

They saw each other every day, exchanging messages constantly when they were apart.

But with the dog system’s constant reminders, Xin Yao hadn’t forgotten her mission, or Xu Qing.

Instead of confronting him directly, she decided to meet with Xin Wanyin first.

Xin Wanyin’s new drama had started filming. While it was just a small role, she was more dedicated than ever before.

When Xin Yao called, she had been on set and hadn’t wanted to come, but her sister’s insistence had made her relent.

She arrived at the meeting place, her lips pouting slightly.

“Sister, what’s so urgent? I wanted to stay and watch the leads rehearse.”

The weather was beautiful, the evening sky painted in shades of orange and pink, the warm glow stretching for miles.

Xin Yao stood in the soft light, in front of a small shop, smiling at her sister.

“You’re here. Come inside with me.”

Xin Wanyin looked up at the nondescript pet shop behind her sister, confused.

“Are you buying a puppy? Don’t you already have a big dog at home?”

Xin Yao didn’t answer, simply saying, “Come inside.”

Xin Wanyin, who also loved dogs, having been instantly charmed by the dog system, reluctantly followed her sister inside.

She looked around the shop curiously, petting the cats and dogs.

But Xin Yao remained silent, not revealing the reason for their visit.

After a while, Xin Wanyin grew impatient. She had to get back to the set.

She turned to ask her sister what was going on.

Just then, the other shop owner returned, a cheerful smile on their face, carrying a bag containing two small, white puppies.

They greeted Xin Yao and Xin Wanyin warmly, then placed the puppies in a cage on the bottom row.

Xin Wanyin hadn’t noticed the cages before.

There were five cages on the bottom row. Two were already occupied, and with the addition of the two puppies, only one cage remained empty.

    That cage was empty.

    Why was it empty?

Xin Wanyin stared at the empty cage, a strange feeling washing over her.

She felt like there should be a puppy in that cage.

Because, in her previous life, that’s where she had met Xin Ping’an.

Back then, her relationship with Xu Qing had been strong. She had often passed by this pet shop and had been instantly drawn to the small, fluffy puppy in the corner cage, its playful antics and affectionate nature captivating her.

She had taken the puppy home, caring for it, playing with it every day.

    They had been inseparable.

But life was long, and there were other things to do, other priorities.

Especially with her whirlwind romance with Xu Qing, her attention had often been diverted, leaving little time for Xin Ping’an.

But Xin Ping’an was just a puppy. Its world revolved around its owner.

It couldn’t understand why its owner had suddenly stopped coming home.

Stopped brushing its fur, stopped sleeping with it, stopped playing with its favorite ball.

Xin Ping’an would wait by the door every day, its ball in its mouth, waiting for its owner to return, to open the door and greet it with a smile.

    “Ping’an, I’m home!”

Every time the door opened, it would jump up excitedly, but it was never its owner.

Then, a strange woman had moved in.

She would feed it and play with it.

But Xin Ping’an rarely responded. It only wanted to play with its owner.

It seemed to have realized then that its owner wasn’t coming back.

    But it continued to wait.

It stopped eating, growing thinner and weaker each day.

Then, one day, the house had been filled with people.

Laughing, chattering, their boisterous energy filling the once quiet home.

Someone had accidentally knocked over Xin Wanyin’s favorite vase, shattering it on the floor.

Xin Ping’an, usually so docile, had suddenly snapped, rushing out of the room and barking at the intruder.

Even a small dog, its teeth bared, could be intimidating.

The guests were startled, some even fleeing, asking Xu Qing why there was a dog in the house.

Xu Qing had kicked Xin Ping’an, sending it sprawling across the floor.

The already weakened dog couldn’t get up.

It whimpered, its cries a desperate plea: Don’t come into her house! Don’t touch her flowers!

    But its protests were ignored.

The next day, Xu Qing had taken it to be euthanized.

Before leaving, Xin Ping’an had waited by the door, its favorite ball in its mouth.

The ball had rolled away, and it had tried to retrieve it.

But Xu Qing had dragged it away.

Xin Ping’an had looked back at its ball, a gift from its owner.

It had never seen Xin Wanyin again.

But Xin Yao had met Xin Ping’an.

    Before entering this world.

In the Bright World, wishers paid with their souls to commission a task.

For difficult tasks, they paid with their entire soul.

Their souls would then be transformed into energy, powering the Bright World, until, after a long time, they had a chance to be reborn.

For simpler tasks, they paid with half their soul.

Half their soul would be transformed into energy, the other half reincarnated.

But those lacking half their soul would suffer a life of hardship, illness, or an early death, until their soul was returned to them by the Bright World.

After accepting the mission, Xin Yao had first met with the wishers.

She had been surprised to see a beautiful woman and a frail dog sitting across from her.

The woman was Xin Wanyin’s older sister, and the dog was Xin Ping’an.

They were willing to pay with half their souls to save Xin Wanyin, to give her another chance.

Xin Yao, still slightly confused, had leaned closer to the dog and whispered, “Do you know what you’re giving up?”

Xin Ping’an had licked her hand, as if to say, “I know. I’m willing. Please take care of her.”

Now, in the pet shop, Xin Wanyin stared at the empty cage, a strange feeling washing over her.

Even though she couldn’t remember, tears streamed down her face.

She collapsed onto the floor, sobbing uncontrollably.

    But the puppy was gone.

The Bright World offered a second chance, but the price was steep.

And the taskers, like Xin Yao, were there to fulfill these wishes, to ease the pain of those who had lost someone, to prevent further regrets.

Xin Yao, raising a finger to her lips, signaled to the concerned shop owners not to interrupt.

She stood there, her eyes slightly red, watching as Xin Wanyin cried, her heart aching for a past she couldn’t remember.

After a long while, Xin Wanyin’s sobs subsided.

They sat in a quiet restaurant, Xin Wanyin holding a cup of warm water, her eyes swollen, her fingers still trembling slightly.

She had no appetite, the food before her untouched.

“I don’t know what came over me back there. I just suddenly felt so sad.”

Xin Yao, however, continued eating, not wanting to waste the food. She paused, not looking up.

“Eat something first. You’ll need your strength. There’s something even more upsetting I need to tell you.”

Xin Wanyin looked at her, confused.

    “What is it?”

Xin Yao continued eating, ignoring her.

Her silence only fueled Xin Wanyin’s curiosity.

“Tell me, Sister! What is it?”

Xin Yao, seeing her sister’s insistence, decided not to prolong the suspense. That was the reason she had called her here today.

She set down her knife and fork, wiping her mouth delicately, then took a stack of photos from her bag and placed them in front of Xin Wanyin.

Xin Wanyin picked them up, her expression hardening as she looked at them.

They were the photos that had been leaked online during the online bullying incident, photos of her having dinner with her father, shopping at luxury stores.

Even more detailed than the ones that had been leaked, clearly the originals.

Xin Yao looked at her sister’s pale face, her voice gentle.

“That must have been a difficult time. Why didn’t you tell me?”

After a long silence, Xin Wanyin managed a weak smile.

“I’m not a child anymore. I can’t rely on my family for everything. But where did you get these photos?”

    Xin Yao didn’t hesitate.

    “From Xu Qing’s cousin.”

    “What?”

“I mean,” Xin Yao looked into her eyes, her voice firm, “I got these photos from Xu Qing’s cousin.”

“He told me that Xu Qing had hired him to take these photos. And that they had a network of online trolls to manipulate public opinion.”

“Wanyin, you’re smart. You can figure this out. Xu Qing’s cousin took the photos, your social media posts were leaked, you were attacked online, and then, at your lowest point, Xu Qing appeared, offering you comfort and support.”

“Do you really think it’s all just a coincidence?”

As Xin Yao spoke, Xin Wanyin’s face paled, her body trembling despite the warmth of the restaurant.

She wasn’t stupid. Now, free from the haze of love, her mind was clear, and she quickly connected the dots.

“You’re saying… he orchestrated the entire thing?”

“He had me bullied online, then came to my rescue?”

Her voice was barely a whisper, but she believed it.

She realized that Xu Qing was capable of such manipulation.

    But there was more.

Xin Yao, not giving her time to recover, continued, “You were too young to remember. There was a worker who died on a Xin Corp construction site. Everyone blamed it on Xin Corp’s safety standards. It almost ruined Dad’s career.”

“I recently discovered that the worker committed suicide for the insurance money.”

“That’s important, but what’s even more important is that the worker’s name was Xu Jun. And his son’s name is Xu Qing.”

The series of revelations, each one more shocking than the last, left Xin Wanyin numb.

    It all clicked into place.

“Oh, so he was targeting me all along. He never loved me. He was just seeking revenge.”

Her detached tone worried Xin Yao.

    “Wanyin, are you okay?”

“Okay? Of course I’m okay,” Xin Wanyin laughed.

It started as a soft chuckle, then grew louder and louder, until she was laughing uncontrollably, her hands covering her face.

She had been a fool, completely oblivious to his manipulation.

    A complete and utter idiot!

But then, the image of the empty cage in the pet shop flashed through her mind.

And in that moment, all traces of love vanished, replaced by a burning rage.

She wiped away her tears, her voice cold and hard.

“Sister, don’t worry about this. I’ll take care of it.”

Xin Yao, still concerned about her sister’s emotional state, simply replied, “Okay.”

Carrying the weight of two souls, Xin Wanyin had to learn to fight her own battles.

Xin Yao had been busy with her mission lately.

But she hadn’t neglected Pei Yu.

They messaged each other constantly, Pei Yu even adding several of Xin Yao’s stickers to her collection. But they hadn’t seen each other in days.

Today was Saturday, and Xin Yao was still working, her replies to Pei Yu’s messages slow and infrequent, leaving Pei Yu alone at home.

It was snowing outside, the sky a strange mix of bright yellow and gloomy gray.

Pei Yu lay in bed, naked, her porcelain skin glowing against the black sheets.

The sheer curtains were half-drawn, her body half-hidden in the shadows, her long snake tail trailing across the bed, its tip reaching the floor.

The room was quiet, but Pei Yu was restless.

She lay there, her breath coming in short gasps, her chest heaving, her arm covering her eyes, as if trying to block out some unseen disturbance. The movement, however, only made her breathing more erratic.

A flush crept up her neck and chest, her skin glowing with a delicate pink hue, a mix of innocence and allure. The tip of her tail tapped restlessly against the floor.

Suddenly, she sat up, pulling two items from beneath the covers.

In the dim light, they were barely visible: a black dress and a white, oversized shirt.

Xin Yao’s clothes, left behind after one of her overnight stays.

The snake demon, her state clearly unstable, curled her tail around the clothes, burying her face in the fabric, inhaling their scent.

“Yaoyao,” she murmured, her voice barely a whisper.

It was the scent of her mate.

But the gesture, instead of calming her, only intensified her restlessness.

Her fingers tightened around the clothes, the veins in her forehead throbbing.

    It wasn’t enough!

The lingering scent on the clothes couldn’t satisfy her longing. It only made her crave more.

Pei Yu knew something was wrong. She had realized a few days ago that she had entered the vulnerable phase that followed her possessive instincts.

She had initially thought it was simply a weakening of her demonic powers, but her emotional state had also become fragile, her thoughts consumed by Xin Yao.

Outwardly, she was still the cold, aloof CEO, but inwardly, she was on the verge of breaking down, her every waking moment filled with thoughts of Xin Yao.

Sometimes, she even felt the urge to cry.

The scent on Xin Yao’s clothes wasn’t enough. It only made her feel worse.

She put on Xin Yao’s oversized shirt, clutching the black dress in her arms, her tail thrashing restlessly, her body coiling into a tight ball.

She fell asleep, holding her mate’s clothes, inhaling her scent.

After a while, she woke up, the sky still light, the snow still falling.

    She hadn’t slept for long.

    So, that night…

Xin Yao, having just returned home after a long day at work, a smile still on her face, was about to call Pei Yu when she paused, her gaze fixed on the figure sitting on her doorstep.

It was Pei Yu, dressed only in a thin white shirt and pants, her long white hair falling around her face, her body shivering in the cold.

Hearing Xin Yao’s approach, she looked up, her eyes, as white as the falling snow, fixed on Xin Yao’s face.

Her expression was impassive, her voice calm, yet her words were filled with a quiet desperation.

“Wife,” she said, “I missed you so much.”

  • You’re Not Allowed to Kiss Me Anymore! [Quick Transmigration] 31

Chapter 31: Transmigrated as the Abusive Story’s Cannon Fodder Female Supporting Character

The secretary choked on her jianbing.

The assistant dropped their coffee cup.

    The middle-aged director’s eyes widened.

The elderly board member fumbled for their reading glasses.

These were the top executives of Pei Corp, returning from a site visit, about to follow Pei Yu to a meeting on the top floor.

And they had just witnessed a young woman run into President Pei’s arms, sobbing.

A collective gasp echoed through the lobby.

    What was going on?!

After a moment of stunned silence, the whispers began.

The assistant glanced at the secretary.

The secretary, her jaw still slack, looked back. “President Pei never talks to me! How would I know?”

The 5’3″ finance manager stood on tiptoe, craning their neck. “Move, move! I can’t see! Is President Pei in love?!”

A random employee gasped. “What?! President Pei isn’t a robot? She has a girlfriend?!”

The elderly board member, their hair as white as snow, also tried to join the gossip, “Who is that girl? She’s so brave!”

But their age and lack of social awareness earned them a collective ignore from the younger staff.

The crowd stood behind Xin Yao and Pei Yu, their gazes fixed on them, their whispers like a buzzing swarm of bees.

Xin Yao, still nestled in Pei Yu’s embrace, finally realized something was amiss and looked up.

She saw the curious stares of the onlookers, their gazes burning into her.

Her face flushed crimson. She hadn’t realized they had an audience!

She quickly buried her face in Pei Yu’s shoulder, mortified.

She had been so caught up in her emotions that she hadn’t noticed anyone else! How embarrassing!

Thankfully, she didn’t work at Pei Corp. Pei Yu could deal with the fallout!

Pei Yu, however, either oblivious to social cues or simply thick-skinned, didn’t seem the least bit embarrassed.

She was more concerned about Xin Yao’s emotional state, her brow furrowed as she gently rubbed Xin Yao’s back.

“Why are you crying? You could have just called me. I would have come to you.”

Xin Yao opened her mouth to speak, her gaze meeting the secretary’s, who was still holding a half-eaten jianbing.

Her embarrassment returned, her tears drying up. She pinched Pei Yu’s arm, subtly reminding her of the onlookers.

Xin Yao cared about what others thought. Pei Yu cared about Xin Yao’s feelings. She released Xin Yao from her embrace.

Then, she stepped in front of her, shielding her from the curious stares.

Looking down at her gossiping employees, then at Xin Yao hiding behind her, Pei Yu paused, then spoke, her voice calm and even.

“This is… my girlfriend, Xin Yao.”

The silence that followed was deafening. Someone’s jaw must have hit the floor.

Even Xin Yao was surprised. She looked at Pei Yu’s hand holding hers, at her strong, protective back, her heart skipping a beat.

She didn’t know what she was thinking, but in that moment, her eyes flickering, she didn’t deny it.

Xin Yao was surprised, but the Pei Corp employees were stunned.

It was true! She really was President Pei’s girlfriend!

So, even someone like President Pei could fall in love.

Witnessing this scene was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!

Pei Yu, however, didn’t care what they thought. She was more concerned about why Xin Yao had come to her in tears. After her brief introduction, she nodded curtly.

“Today’s meeting is cancelled. Everyone, please get back to work.”

With that, she led Xin Yao away, leaving a group of stunned employees in her wake.

    Inside Pei Yu’s office…

It wasn’t Xin Yao’s first time there, but last time, she had been emerging from under Pei Yu’s desk, filled with embarrassment.

This time, her feelings were different.

Concern for Pei Yu, shyness at being introduced as her girlfriend, and a mix of other emotions she couldn’t quite decipher.

It all culminated in a deep longing for Pei Yu.

Xin Yao freshened up in the office restroom, then sat down on the sofa, her eyes, still slightly red from crying, looking at Pei Yu.

Pei Yu, concerned, handed her a cup of warm tea, sitting beside her, her gaze soft and caring.

    “What happened?”

Xin Yao held the warm cup in her hands, the steam and the fragrance of the tea calming her slightly. She recalled the visions she had seen.

Tears welled up in her eyes as she looked at Pei Yu.

“I don’t know why, but last night, I was suddenly pulled into another time-reversal vision. I saw… your past.”

“Why,” her voice choked with emotion, “didn’t you tell me?”

Pei Yu paused, realizing what Xin Yao had seen.

A wave of emotions she couldn’t quite comprehend washed over her. Panic? Embarrassment? Helplessness?

She knew how pathetic and vulnerable she had been. She had never imagined Xin Yao seeing that side of her.

She had always found the saying “dress to impress” foolish, never caring about what others thought.

But now, she understood its meaning, even feeling a twinge of fear.

She wanted to appear strong and capable in front of the person she loved.

But Xin Yao’s gentle, concerned gaze calmed her.

Pei Yu had a perfect memory, recalling every detail of her past. And she never lied. But now, she said softly, “I’ve forgotten all of that. It’s in the past.”

Xin Yao set down her teacup, her hand reaching out to take Pei Yu’s, her eyes filled with sadness and compassion.

“But even if it’s in the past, it must have been painful.”

“I didn’t know what pain was back then,” Pei Yu shook her head. “Those cries… I was just imitating humans, hoping they would stop.”

Her words only made Xin Yao’s heart ache even more. She held Pei Yu’s hand tightly, speechless.

After a moment of silence, she suddenly remembered something.

“Then… about your parents… did you know?”

    Pei Yu nodded. “I knew.”

The Sacred Seal within her had given her access to all her memories, from the moment of her birth.

Her father’s death, her mother’s fear and rejection, she knew it all.

But perhaps she truly was a heartless monster. She had watched her own story unfold like a movie, a detached observer, feeling nothing.

She didn’t care, but Xin Yao did. She tightened her grip on Pei Yu’s hand.

“What is this ‘cursed child’ the Taoist priest mentioned?”

Pei Yu shook her head. “I don’t know.”

After answering, she fidgeted nervously, her fingers trembling slightly in Xin Yao’s hand, her knuckles white in the soft light.

She looked at Xin Yao, her voice a soft whisper.

“Are you afraid? Or angry that I didn’t tell you?”

Xin Yao, however, wasn’t bothered by it. She patted Pei Yu’s hand reassuringly.

“Condemning someone based on some vague curse… I think they’re the ones with the problem.”

“But will that Taoist priest come looking for trouble?”

Xin Yao’s touch calmed Pei Yu’s anxiety. Her eyelashes still fluttered slightly, but her expression relaxed.

“Don’t worry, I’ll protect you. Even if he comes, I can handle him.”

“You’re still joking,” Xin Yao chuckled. “But why did I suddenly have that vision last night?”

Instead of answering directly, Pei Yu took Xin Yao’s hand and placed it on her chest.

“The Sacred Seal is here. It seems it wanted you to see that.”

Xin Yao’s gaze followed her hand, resting on Pei Yu’s heart.

“Why would it want me to see that?”

“It said,” Pei Yu’s eyes shimmered in the soft light, “perhaps having witnessed so much sorrow and loss on the mountain, with my father still buried there, it wanted to see a happy ending.”

    A happy ending?

Xin Yao’s ears turned pink. “You’re making that up.”

“I’m not. That’s what it said.” Then, surprisingly, Pei Yu started comforting Xin Yao. “But when I was young, I sometimes heard someone crying beside me.”

    “Was that you?”

Time was a strange and wondrous thing.

So, even back then, when she had felt so alone and unloved, someone from the future had been grieving for her.

Xin Yao’s eyes widened in surprise.

    “You heard me?”

“Yes,” Pei Yu said softly. “So, even back then, someone cared about me. There’s nothing to be sad about.”

Despite her casual tone, her gaze was fixed on Xin Yao, as if seeking confirmation.

The monster didn’t dare to ask for love, only for acknowledgment.

And Xin Yao, always optimistic and supportive, would always offer reassurance, never hesitating to offer comfort and support.

So, meeting Pei Yu’s gaze, she replied firmly, “Yes, you are loved.”

“My Pei Yu, you were born in love.”

Pei Yu looked down at Xin Yao, her eyes softening, almost drowning in the warmth of her gaze.

Unlike her childhood struggle for survival, this was a surrender she welcomed.

Her voice, barely above a whisper, was soft.

“Miss Xin, may I have a kiss?”

It was a request Xin Yao couldn’t refuse. She leaned forward and kissed Pei Yu gently.

Their lips brushed against each other, a soft, lingering touch, the warmth of their skin, the softness of their lips, the gentle caress of their breaths mingling.

Pei Yu’s kiss was tender and cautious, as if afraid of breaking the spell.

It was Xin Yao who deepened the kiss, wanting to reassure the little monster that she was indeed loved and cherished.

Her lips pressed against Pei Yu’s, her touch growing more insistent, the soft pressure leaving a faint red mark on Pei Yu’s usually unblemished skin.

She even nipped at Pei Yu’s lip, her playful bites like a love-struck rabbit’s.

Pei Yu didn’t resist, surrendering to Xin Yao’s touch, letting her take the lead.

Emboldened, Xin Yao pushed Pei Yu back against the sofa, straddling her, her legs wrapping around Pei Yu’s slender waist.

She cupped Pei Yu’s face in her hands, gazing at her with a soft smile before kissing her again.

Pei Yu tilted her head back, her fingers gently tracing Xin Yao’s waist, surrendering to her embrace.

Twenty minutes later, Pei Yu’s secretary stood nervously outside her office, knocking softly on the door.

She hadn’t wanted to come, but her colleagues had urged her to, suggesting she bring coffee to the future Mrs. Pei, a gesture of goodwill.

It seemed like a good idea at the time. So, armed with a cup of coffee, she had arrived at President Pei’s office.

But no one answered her knock.

She was stuck, unsure whether to leave or try again.

Just as she raised her hand to knock again, the door opened.

Pei Yu, dressed in a black coat, stood in the doorway, her hand on the doorframe, half her face hidden in the shadows, looking down at her.

The look in her eyes, the secretary couldn’t quite describe it, but she felt as if she was about to be vaporized.

    Rest in peace.jpg

Pei Yu’s expression was impassive, her appearance seemingly unchanged.

But upon closer inspection, the secretary noticed that the top two buttons of her shirt were undone, and her tie was slightly askew.

Her voice, colder than usual, echoed in the hallway.

    “Is something the matter?”

The secretary, terrified, her hand trembling, stammered, “P-President Pei, please brush your teeth.”

    Pei Yu raised an eyebrow.

    The secretary’s trembling intensified.

“I mean, President Pei, please have some tea!”

Pei Yu looked down at the coffee in her hand.

The secretary was on the verge of tears.

Just then, Xin Yao emerged from the office.

She peeked out, then gently took the coffee from the secretary, her voice soft and polite.

“Thank you. You can give it to me.”

In that moment, the secretary felt like she had seen an angel.

But then she noticed a faint lipstick stain on Xin Yao’s collarbone, just below the neckline of her shirt.

Realizing she had stumbled upon a secret, the secretary quickly retreated, her legs trembling, not daring to look back.

After the secretary left, Xin Yao closed the door, took a sip of coffee, and glanced at Pei Yu, whose expression was slightly sullen, having been interrupted.

    She couldn’t help but chuckle.

“President Pei, you’re a bit too serious.”

The serious President Pei didn’t reply. She took the coffee cup from Xin Yao’s hand, placed it on the desk, then, without warning, cupped Xin Yao’s face and kissed her.

Xin Yao was pressed against the door, her arms wrapping around Pei Yu’s neck, surrendering to the coffee-flavored kiss.

Between kisses, she traced Pei Yu’s lips with her fingertip, a playful smile on her face.

“President Pei, you’re so fierce. I’m almost scared.”

The simple words were enough to make the fierce President Pei forget all about work.

  • You’re Not Allowed to Kiss Me Anymore! [Quick Transmigration] 30p2

Chapter 30: Transmigrated as the Abusive Story’s Cannon Fodder Female Supporting Character p2

Two months later, Pei Shuangshuang finally gave birth.

Xin Yao, still in her spectral form, watched from the sidelines, her expression a mix of anxiety and anticipation.

Unlike her, the doctors and nurses were horrified.

The doctor holding the newborn screamed, dropping the child onto the floor.

Pei Shuangshuang, weak and exhausted, looked down and saw a small, monstrous creature, half-human, half-snake.

    She almost fainted.

Xin Yao, unable to interact with the scene, felt a surge of panic.

Her Pei Yu wasn’t a monster, not the cursed creature they claimed her to be.

She was a kind, compassionate person, with a dry sense of humor, who donated generously to charity every year.

She was a real person, with a heart and soul, not just a monster!

Tears welled up in Xin Yao’s eyes. She wanted to pick up the baby, to comfort her, but her hands passed through the image, grasping only air.

The Pei family, however, couldn’t tolerate such a monstrous offspring.

Their first instinct was to kill it.

The nurses, shielding the newborn from Pei Shuangshuang’s view, carried it away.

Xin Yao, not knowing what they were planning, followed them.

    They entered the bathroom.

Without hesitation, the nurses held the newborn under the water, trying to drown it.

The tiny creature, fighting for its life, thrashed and kicked, its snake tail and clawed hands scratching the nurses’ arms, only earning it more brutal treatment.

The scene made Xin Yao’s blood run cold, her heart aching with fear and anger.

    Her control snapped.

Forgetting that it was just a memory, a past she couldn’t change, she lunged forward, trying to pry the nurses’ hands away from the baby’s throat.

“Let her go! Let her go!”

But her hands passed through their images, grasping only air.

    She couldn’t save Pei Yu.

She could only watch as the newborn, its face turning blue, struggled to breathe.

    “Please, stop! Please!”

Xin Yao knelt on the floor, tears streaming down her face. “She hasn’t done anything wrong! Why won’t you even give her a chance to live?”

Being half-human, Pei Yu had inherited her father’s demonic powers at a young age, making her incredibly strong.

And her mind had developed quickly, her memories intact from birth.

But Pei Yu sometimes wished she hadn’t been born.

Because she still remembered the feeling of being held underwater, the water filling her lungs, the burning sensation in her throat, the suffocating darkness.

And the people who had done this to her were her own family.

But demons were resilient. Even in that state, Pei Yu had found her voice, her cries muffled by the water.

    “It hurts! It hurts!”

The nurses, terrified by the monstrous newborn’s ability to speak, finally relented, dropping her onto the floor.

Xin Yao reached out to catch her, but her hands passed through the image, the small snake-like creature falling to the cold tile floor.

Xin Yao’s heart ached. She knelt beside the writhing creature, covering her face with her hands, unable to bear the sight.

Later, the Pei family tried to find a Taoist priest to seal Pei Yu’s powers, but they failed.

They locked her in a small, windowless basement, bringing her food at regular intervals.

For the first three years of her life, Pei Yu never saw the sun.

She huddled in the cold, dark basement, enduring countless days and nights.

That’s why she disliked darkness, disliked water, disliked rainy days.

It wasn’t until she met Xin Yao that she learned that water wasn’t so scary, that rainy days could be comforting.

In the fragmented memories that followed, Xin Yao remained by Pei Yu’s side.

She watched as Pei Yu grew, her small body thin and frail from lack of food, but she never cried, never complained, never spoke.

Countless times, Xin Yao wanted to hold her, to comfort her, but her hands passed through the image, grasping only air.

She could only watch, her heart aching, her gaze soft and sad.

    My Pei Yu…

When Pei Yu turned three and finally shifted into her human form, things began to change.

One day, as the nanny brought her food, Pei Yu suddenly spoke, her voice cold and emotionless.

“He’s going to have a car accident.”

The nanny dismissed her words, but that night, Pei Shuangshuang’s father was indeed involved in a car accident.

The nanny, realizing the significance of Pei Yu’s words, immediately informed Pei Yu’s grandfather.

Pei’s grandfather, seeing an opportunity, finally brought Pei Yu out of the basement, treating her with a newfound respect.

Human greed was more monstrous than any demon.

But even though Pei Yu was free, and had shifted into her human form, her mother, Pei Shuangshuang, still refused to see her.

Because seeing Pei Yu reminded her of her dead husband, and of her own cowardice.

So, she avoided her, refusing to acknowledge her existence.

Pei Yu, unable to understand human emotions, didn’t care.

They called her a monster, so she would be a monster.

No one would love a monster, and a monster didn’t need love.

Years passed, and Pei Yu and Pei Shuangshuang never saw each other.

Pei Shuangshuang eventually moved abroad, while Pei Yu, her abilities recognized by her grandfather, rose through the ranks of the Pei Corporation.

She was a prodigy, excelling at everything she did, surpassing all expectations. She naturally inherited the company.

Some family members had opposed her, but Pei Yu, ruthless and unconcerned with morality, had swiftly dealt with them.

The world became quiet, and Pei Yu, the untouchable CEO, led the company to even greater heights.

Now, everyone bowed before her, their lives dependent on her whims.

No one loved her, but everyone feared her. It was enough.

The long, fragmented memory ended with Pei Yu sitting in her office.

The morning sunlight streamed in behind her, her face cold and impassive.

Then, the light intensified, engulfing Pei Yu, its warmth washing over Xin Yao like a wave.

Xin Yao woke up, the sunlight on her face.

She was still sitting on her sofa, but it was morning now.

It had been a long, strange dream.

She touched her face, her fingers wet with tears.

Without thinking, she stood up and left the apartment.

She had to see Pei Yu. Now.

She even forgot that she could simply activate the mating mark to be transported to Pei Yu’s side.

She ran, driven by a primal urge, towards the person she needed to see.

When she arrived at Pei Corp, Pei Yu was standing in the lobby with a group of executives, having just returned from a site visit.

Despite the crowd, Xin Yao’s gaze fixed on Pei Yu.

Seeing her standing there, unharmed, having endured so much in silence, never mentioning her past, Xin Yao’s tears flowed freely.

She ran towards Pei Yu, throwing herself into her arms.

Pei Yu, hearing her approach, turned to see Xin Yao running towards her, tears streaming down her face.

Like a butterfly, she collided with Pei Yu, her embrace filling Pei Yu’s heart with a joy she had never known before.

Pei Yu’s arms tightened around Xin Yao, holding her close, her heart filled with a fierce, protective love.
