    Chapter 18: Brotherly Love

“Brother Yu, I’ve listened to you my whole life. Now I have just one request, listen to me this once!”

Mao Gang stared intently at Xie Yuhong, and Xie Yuhong stared back.

Suddenly, Xie Yuhong noticed bloodstains behind Mao Gang’s ear. He frowned. “Where are your wife and child?”

    “In the bedroom.”

Xie Yuhong immediately went to the bedroom. Opening the door, he saw Mao Gang’s wife and child huddled in a corner, trembling.

Seeing this, his frown deepened. He closed the door and looked at Mao Gang in the living room, then suddenly opened another door.

What he saw inside made him gasp. A 70-year-old man lay on the floor, a kitchen knife stuck in the back of his head.

    It was Mao Gang’s father!

Xie Yuhong turned to look at Mao Gang, who said in a low voice, “The old man couldn’t take it anymore. He asked me to kill him.”

“Gangzi, are you still human? That’s your father!”

Xie Yuhong grabbed Mao Gang by the collar, tears in his eyes.

Mao Gang brushed Xie Yuhong’s hand away. “Brother Yu, I can even kill my own father. No one can stand in my way.”

    “You’re insane!”

Xie Yuhong shoved Mao Gang away and took the bottle of mineral water from the table, then left.

As he opened the door to leave, a 60-year-old woman across the hall also came out. Seeing the water in Xie Yuhong’s hand, she smiled. “Mr. Xie, you’re so kind, bringing water again.”

    “It’s not for you.”

    Xie Yuhong said coldly.

The woman grabbed his arm. “What do you mean? Didn’t you say we share resources? Then I deserve a share of this water.”

    “No!”

“Fine, fine, I still have a few bottles anyway.”

    “A few bottles?”

Xie Yuhong looked at the woman in surprise. The woman realized she had misspoken. She had been playing the victim to get extra rations.

“What few bottles? I don’t have any. You guys should go out and find some food. Don’t just bring back snacks, find some vegetables or something. We need a balanced diet. I’ve been getting mouth ulcers lately, my teeth hurt. Ouch, there it is again. I’ll go back now. You hurry up and gather people to find food.”

With that, the woman went back inside.

Xie Yuhong clenched his fists. These words were like bombshells in his mind.

But what he feared most wasn’t this, but that his wife and sister-in-law would be harmed or violated.

    “It’s me.”

Xie Yuhong called out at his door.

Ye Yuling looked through the peephole and unlocked the door.

“Honey, how did the talk go?”

    Ye Yuling asked curiously.

    “Not well.”

“Isn’t Gangzi always obedient to you? Wasn’t that bottle of water enough?”

Xie Yuhong placed the water on the table. Ye Yuling and Ye Qingyi were stunned. He hadn’t accepted it, a clear rejection.

    Both sisters’ faces turned pale.

The doorbell suddenly rang, making their nerves tense.

“Brother Yu, it’s me, Gangzi. I’ve thought it over, you’re right.”

Mao Gang’s voice boomed from outside.

Ye Yuling’s face lit up. “I’ll open the door.”

    “Wait!”

    Xie Yuhong stopped her.

“Both of you, go to the bedroom.”

The sisters exchanged glances and obediently went to the bedroom.

Looking at Mao Gang through the peephole, Xie Yuhong called out, “Gangzi, have you really thought it over?”

“Brother Yu, Yingzi just gave me a good talking-to. She thinks you’re right too. I still support you. I’m sorry about earlier. I’ll go back now. Brother Yu, you get some rest.”

Mao Gang turned and walked towards the elevator.

Xie Yuhong breathed a sigh of relief and opened the door, calling out, “Gangzi, I’m glad you came around.”

Mao Gang, with his back turned, said softly, “Brother Yu, you still opened the door.”

Xie Yuhong froze, about to close the door, but Mao Gang’s large hand pressed against it. Suddenly, he felt a chill in his arm. He saw his right hand fall to the ground, blood spurting out. Then, a sharp pain in his abdomen, and he was kicked to the floor.

Mao Gang entered and closed the door, laughing maniacally. “Brother Yu, why did you force me? Why didn’t you trust me, just this once? Why did you make me do this to you?! Why?!”

    “Gangzi, don’t be so stubborn!”

“I’m not the stubborn one, it’s you! Those people are attacking tonight, we have no choice! Where’s the key to the rolling shutter? Give it to me!”

Mao Gang extended his hand, his eyes turning colder.

Xie Yuhong stood up, enduring the pain, his face filled with disbelief. “You betrayed me! You’re their spy!”

“Who told you to share the food with those useless people?! Do you know how much those old fogies have hidden in their homes?! Give me the key!”

“I’ll never give it to you!”

“Brother Yu, I’ll be your brother again in the next life.”

With that, he took out a cleaver. The sounds of struggle echoed through the living room.

The sisters, hiding in the bedroom, were terrified, huddled under the bed. They could imagine the fight happening outside.

Ye Yuling was extremely worried. “I have to go check on your brother-in-law.”

“Sister, don’t go out! If brother-in-law wins, he’ll come and open the door.”

    Ye Qingyi whispered.

“But what if it’s Gangzi who opens the door? He’ll find me, and he’ll find you too.”

Ye Yuling looked at her sister intently.

The sounds of struggle outside gradually subsided. Ye Yuling whispered, “Yiyi, if anything happens to me, you have to find Yueyue (their daughter).”

    “Sister, Sister!”

Ye Qingyi watched helplessly as her sister crawled out from under the bed, unable to stop her risky move. But she comforted herself. In her memory, Gangzi was a kind and gentle person, always smiling. When she was bullied by thugs in school, Gangzi had chased them away. It should be fine.

Just then, the bedroom door opened.

Ye Qingyi covered her mouth. It wasn’t her brother-in-law’s feet; these shoes were covered in blood.

It was Mao Gang who opened the door, his entire body splattered with blood.

Ye Yuling covered her mouth. She saw her husband lying in a pool of blood in the living room.

Mao Gang smiled, his face smeared with blood, like a devil. “Sister-in-law, Brother Yu just told me you know where the key to the rolling shutter is.”

Ye Yuling was terrified, her mind blank. She slowly raised her hand and pointed to the dressing table.

Mao Gang immediately went to search. Ye Yuling murmured, “When Yingzi was giving birth, your Brother Yu helped you contact the hospital. When you were unemployed, he helped you find a job. When you didn’t have time to take care of the child, I helped…”

Mao Gang quickly found the key and turned around, smiling. “Sister-in-law, I’ll repay your and Brother Yu’s kindness in my next life.”

“How could you do this?! You’re a monster!!!”

Ye Yuling pounded on Mao Gang, who didn’t resist, but the cleaver in his hand was still dripping blood.

“Sister-in-law, I know you and Brother Yu were very much in love. He must be lonely down there now. Why don’t you go down and accompany him? Things are about to get chaotic anyway. It’s better than being played to death by those men. Sister-in-law, I’ll give you a quick death. Brother Yu will thank me, yes, he definitely will.”

Muttering to himself, the distraught Mao Gang raised the cleaver and brought it down on Ye Yuling’s forehead. Her skull caved in, her eyes wide open as she slowly collapsed.

Chapter 17: Attack on Building One

Ding Feng opened the few remaining beers, pouring a little for each of the dozen men. They each lit a cigarette, as if performing a final farewell ritual.

“Brothers, as long as we get Dong Fei’s supplies, we’ll have food to eat, drinks to drink, and we can even trade for women from the other buildings!”

Ding Feng looked over the group. These promises were their motivation. Without this enticing picture, no one would put in the effort.

“Alright! Follow Brother Feng! Endless food, endless women! Cheers!”

    “Cheers.”

    “Cheers.”

A mouthful of beer, and they felt like they were back at a roadside barbecue stall.

Why did it feel like a distant memory? Because they had already forgotten what normal life was like. It had only been a month, but it felt like years.

“Brother Feng, a buddy of mine in Building One messaged me today, saying things are about to get chaotic over there.”

Ding Feng sneered and exhaled a puff of smoke. “That Xie Yuhong actually thought he could maintain control. Without enough food, chaos is inevitable. Besides, he’s too soft-hearted, he’ll regret it sooner or later.”

“Exactly! He even shared the food we risked our lives for with those old folks. What a waste!”

“Brother Feng, after we take Building Three tonight, when are we going to hit the other buildings?”

Ding Feng narrowed his eyes, crossed his legs, and looked at the heavy rain outside. “Feng Jin and Sun Youqing have quite a few men, and they’re united. Attacking them would cost us too many men. If we’re going to attack, it’ll be Building One. While they’re leaderless, we’ll kill all the men and keep only the women.”

The men nodded. The plan sounded good.

Just then, Ding Feng’s phone buzzed. Seeing the message, he frowned deeply, taking a long drag on his cigarette.

    “Brother Feng, what’s wrong?”

“Feng Jin and Sun Youqing are saying they’re attacking Building One tonight as well.”

Ding Feng was furious. His plans were ruined.

The men looked at each other. One of them asked, “Are we still attacking Building Three tonight?”

Ding Feng glared at him, and the man shrank back.

They had invited him to join them. If he didn’t go and instead attacked Building Three, they would team up to take him out and divide the spoils. Then the two of them would fight it out for control of the complex.

He couldn’t allow himself to become their target.

With this in mind, Ding Feng immediately said, “We’re not attacking Building Three tonight. We’ll join the attack on Building One! We move in half an hour!”

The boss had made his decision. The men nodded. Some were even relieved. After all, there was a gun in Building Three. Although they knew he didn’t have much ammo, it was still their bodies on the line. Whoever got shot was dead, and medical supplies were scarce.

    Building One, Apartment 2801.

    “Honey, what are you doing?”

Ye Yuling suddenly came out of the kitchen and stopped Xie Yuhong, who was about to leave. Ye Qingyi, coming out of the bedroom, looked at them in confusion.

Xie Yuhong gave a smile that was uglier than crying. “Going to Gangzi’s place to discuss something.”

Ye Yuling lifted her husband’s shirt and saw a bottle of mineral water tucked under his arm.

“Do you need to bring water to discuss something?”

Ye Yuling asked in a low voice, her lips dry. Ye Qingyi, standing at the bedroom door, was also parched. The family was rationing their water, only taking small sips to wet their mouths each day.

Facing his wife’s questioning, Xie Yuhong forced a smile and explained, “In the past, we’d bring money, cigarettes, or tea when discussing business. Now, it’s normal to bring water.”

“But this is our last bottle of water! What are we going to drink?!”

Xie Yuhong didn’t answer, his expression darkening.

“Isn’t Gangzi your childhood friend? You’re so close, do you need to bring water to see him?! Answer me!”

Ye Yuling seemed to be on the verge of a breakdown, shaking her husband frantically.

Xie Yuhong suddenly exploded, pushing his wife to the ground. Ye Qingyi gasped and rushed over, looking up and asking, “Brother-in-law, what are you doing? Sister was just asking.”

Xie Yuhong suddenly laughed, then his laughter turned into sobs.

“For this family, I worked tirelessly at the company! I had to support the family, support you, support our daughter! Mortgage, car loan, each one a mountain on my shoulders!”

“When this disaster struck, for a moment I felt relieved. But I soon realized I still couldn’t relax. I have to protect you! I still have to fight for survival!”

“But what do I get? Before, it was a monthly salary, now it’s water! Do you know how much pressure I’m under? They’re all going crazy!”

Xie Yuhong roared, his voice filled with the weight that was crushing him.

The sisters were stunned, speechless. Ye Yuling burst into tears, and Ye Qingyi could only comfort her.

Xie Yuhong didn’t say anything more. He left the apartment with the water, reminding them before closing the door, “Don’t open the door for anyone but me.”

    He then closed the door.

Xie Yuhong quickly went downstairs and rang the doorbell.

Footsteps sounded inside, and a muscular man opened the door. Seeing Xie Yuhong, he smiled. “Brother Yu, have you changed your mind?”

Xie Yuhong entered, placing the bottle of mineral water on the dining table. “Gangzi, as long as you support me, our Building One will remain stable. Once the storm passes, I’ll take you all out to find food.”

Mao Gang rubbed his forehead, pacing back and forth, then slammed his hands on the table and shouted, “Brother Yu! I know you’re a good person, you want everyone to be safe, but that’s impossible! You’ve done your best, but after so many days, those people have become animals. Only we are still sane.”

“Then we should persevere even more! Search for food, wait for rescue, Gangzi! We can’t become animals like them!”

Xie Yuhong grabbed Mao Gang’s shoulders and pleaded.

Mao Gang laughed. “Brother Yu, you can’t be a good person in these times. You’ve done enough. I’ll be the bad guy.”

Seeing that Mao Gang was unmoved, Xie Yuhong shouted, “Gangzi, wake up! We can’t let things descend into chaos! If we do, they will take advantage of us!”

“Brother Yu, you know that too! Then why do you object? Why don’t you support me?! Do you still consider me a brother?!”

“Of course I do! Didn’t I lend you money to buy your apartment?”

“That’s because you wanted me to live downstairs! You did lend me the money, but the 3,000 yuan mortgage is killing me! I originally wanted to buy an apartment in a cheaper complex, but you insisted I come here! I listened to you, brother!!!”

“Because I wanted to take care of you!”

“Heh, you want to take care of those old men and women.”

Speaking of this, Mao Gang became agitated and shouted, “What use are those old geezers? They’re just wasting our resources! They get a smaller share and still lecture us! What’s the point of keeping them around? Look at Building Two, they killed all the old people. They wouldn’t have lived much longer anyway.”

Hearing his childhood friend say such things, Xie Yuhong was in disbelief. “Gangzi, don’t let them brainwash you.”

  • I Raise Goddesses in the Apocalypse 16

    Chapter 16: What Dreams?

“Is everything alright on your end today?”

    Jiang Zihui asked with concern.

“Yes, everything’s fine, don’t worry. How about you?”

“Don’t worry, I’m in a villa district. Because there are fewer people, supplies are plentiful. The property management has stockpiled quite a bit.”

Ye Qingyi breathed a sigh of relief and shifted slightly. “How’s Nana?”

“That girl is still in the mood for yoga, what do you think?”

Jiang Zihui teased, trying to lighten Ye Qingyi’s mood.

    “That’s good.”

Jiang Zihui paused, then sighed. “Yiyi, you need to find a way to come here. I’m worried about you.”

Ye Qingyi smiled wryly. Hua’an City was 400 kilometers away from Yunhai City. In the past, it would have been a short trip, but now, every step was difficult.

“I’ll find a way. Don’t worry, my brother-in-law is still the leader here.”

    Ye Qingyi forced a smile.

“My classmate told me that many residential complexes are in chaos, killing people like chickens. Some perverts don’t even spare female corpses.”

    “Ah!”

Ye Qingyi was frightened, fear appearing on her beautiful face.

Jiang Zihui immediately realized he had said the wrong thing and quickly changed the subject, talking about where they would go for their honeymoon, fantasizing about a beautiful future.

As her phone battery ran low, Ye Qingyi put it on charge. Looking at the rain outside, she felt the wind picking up.

Fatigue washed over her, and she fell asleep.

But she had a terrifying dream. She dreamt she had become a corpse, countless men watching her, as if looking at a cooked steak, their eyes filled with greed.

They violated her body while feasting on her flesh, until only bones remained.

    “Ah!”

Ye Qingyi woke up with a start, sitting up abruptly, her hair wet with cold sweat, her face pale. She turned to look out the window. It was morning. A sense of helplessness welled up inside her. Could she ever leave this complex…?

Tears flowed from the corners of her eyes.

Compared to Ye Qingyi, Tang Ze woke up full of energy. He stretched and looked out the window. Another day full of vigor.

He had gained a wave of experience last night and had now reached 10% progress. Only 90% more to get the Apocalypse Gift Pack 2.0.

Looking at the 90% progress bar, Tang Ze rubbed his forehead. Although it was now double progress, it was still too slow.

At the door, three automatic rifles were aimed at the entrance, their triggers connected to the doorknob by strings.

If the door was opened, or forced open, the three rifles would empty their magazines, killing anyone at the entrance.

After setting up the traps, Tang Ze took out a bowl of Lanzhou ramen. The aroma made the two women open their eyes.

Tang Ze naturally prepared nutritious meals for them; they were, after all, the source of his power.

At noon, bored, Sun Ting sat on the balcony, a piece of white paper on her lap, a 2B pencil in her hand, sketching while looking at the scene below.

Tang Ze, coming out of the bedroom, walked over curiously and stood behind her. “Not bad.”

On the white paper was a sketch of the pile of corpses below. It looked rather macabre.

    “Ah, you’re up! I’m sorry.”

Sun Ting quickly stood up, but Tang Ze pushed her back down. “It’s fine, keep drawing.”

    Sun Ting smiled sheepishly.

    “Did you study art?”

    Tang Ze asked curiously.

“I was an art student. I wanted to be a painter when I was young, holding exhibitions all over the country. Sigh, dreams are beautiful, reality is cruel. My creations from a whole month couldn’t earn as much as a single dance in my live stream.”

Sun Ting smiled wryly. The price she paid then wasn’t much different from now, just sleeping with people.

An Bai came over with a plate of cut fruit and said helplessly, “Sister’s artwork is actually very good, she just hasn’t met the right people.”

Tang Ze took a peeled orange and popped it into his mouth. “You know, I also had a dream.”

Sun Ting and An Bai looked at him curiously.

“When I was young, I often looked at the blue sky. I wanted to be a great pilot, defending our country’s airspace. But in the end, I struggled even with studying, all my grades were zero.”

    The two women giggled.

Looking at An Bai, Tang Ze playfully slapped her peachy bottom. “How dare you laugh at me.”

    “I couldn’t help it.”

An Bai said with a pout, a handprint appearing on her fair bottom.

“What about you, Bai? Why did you become a flight attendant?”

    Tang Ze asked.

An Bai looked at the sky outside and murmured, “I love traveling, and being a flight attendant allows me to travel for free.”

    “A freeloader, huh?”

Tang Ze wrapped his arm around An Bai’s waist and pulled her onto the sofa.

An Bai pouted and said, “No, I’m a working woman too! You’re accusing me wrongly.”

Sun Ting put her sketchbook aside, walked over with catlike steps, and teased, “Bai, you weren’t just freeloading, you wanted to marry into a rich family.”

“He was my elementary school classmate.”

An Bai had already come to terms with it. She felt nothing about her dead ex-boyfriend.

Sun Ting rolled up a magazine and held it to An Bai’s mouth. “Please, tell us your story.”

“Oh, there’s no story. I just bumped into him in first class once, and we started chatting. He lied to me at first, saying he was single. When I proposed, he said he was married and asked me to wait, that he would get divorced soon. And that’s it.”

    Tang Ze said indignantly, “Scumbag.”

    “Such a scumbag.”

    Sun Ting echoed.

An Bai also giggled and said, “Exactly, such a scumbag.”

Tang Ze suddenly asked, “So, who’s the bigger scumbag, him or me?”

The two women paused and looked at each other.

“Tell the truth, or you’ll starve for three days.”

Tang Ze put on a stern expression, not looking like he was joking.

Seeing their hesitant expressions, Tang Ze understood. “You think I’m the scumbag? Then I’ll show you what a scumbag really is.”

Seven days passed in a blink of an eye. Ding Feng, looking at his dwindling supplies and the intensifying wind and rain outside, decided to attack Building Three that night.

“Brother Feng, the brothers are ready.”

  • I Raise Goddesses in the Apocalypse 15

Chapter 15: Trading Supplies for Beauties

    “Be careful, don’t slip.”

    Tang Ze cautioned.

The two women looked up and smiled. Their slender hands were stained with crimson blood, and even their fair skin had a smear of red, creating a strangely alluring aesthetic.

Looking at the abundance of food and water, Tang Ze pondered how to handle it, how to maximize the benefit from these supplies.

    Bartering? Meaningless.

What else could he trade them for?

People? There weren’t any noteworthy beauties in this complex worth exchanging for.

Looking at the relentless rain outside, Tang Ze sighed. He wanted to go out and search for more supplies, but how could he with the constant rain? It even looked like a storm was brewing.

The two women continued dragging bodies until dawn before returning, exhausted. They took hot showers, and Tang Ze, not wanting to be ungenerous, prepared a meal.

The meal was naturally much more sumptuous than before. The two women had worked hard all night, so he needed to replenish their strength.

Soon, a table full of barbecue was laid out. If the residents of the other buildings saw this, they would probably go mad. But for Tang Ze, this was just an ordinary day.

He opened WeChat. No one was talking in the building’s group chat anymore. Probably everyone except him and the two women were dead.

The main complex group chat was buzzing about his killings, especially Building One, where they stood on their moral high ground, criticizing him and demanding his execution.

However, many WeChat functions had been disabled. Downloading and sending videos and pictures, forwarding messages, joining groups, making video calls, even searching for nearby people were all impossible. But some people had group chats with people outside the complex, and the situation there was similar.

Tang Ze looked up and smiled. “You two don’t need to rest?”

They had been busy all night, he had wanted to give them a break.

Sun Ting’s seductive mannerisms were becoming increasingly polished. An Bai, on the other hand, still seemed a little shy.

Sun Ting stood up and sat on Tang Ze’s lap.

Tang Ze smiled wryly inwardly. He was trying to think, and she pulled this move.

“Help me figure something out first, then I’ll reward you.”

Tang Ze wrapped his arms around Sun Ting’s slender waist. It was soft and supple.

    “Figure out what?”

    An Bai asked curiously.

“What do you think I should trade these supplies for?”

Sun Ting blurted out, “Beautiful women, of course!”

An Bai paused, wondering what would happen to them if Tang Ze traded for other beautiful women. Would he no longer need them?

But Sun Ting knew Tang Ze’s abilities. More supplies meant better security for them. Besides, this was what Tang Ze wanted anyway.

“I’ve been observing for a while now. Besides you two, there are no other quality goods in this complex.”

Tang Ze had standards. Not just any cat or dog could be his… supply.

“We won’t know unless we try.”

Sun Ting stood up and picked up her phone.

Tang Ze asked curiously, “What are you doing?”

“Advertising in the complex group chat! How much will we trade for?”

Sun Ting inwardly scolded herself for being foolish, acting without asking Tang Ze first.

Tang Ze didn’t mind. He had actually considered this too.

    “Half.”

    Tang Ze said casually.

Sun Ting raised an eyebrow. “Isn’t half too much?”

An Bai said softly, “If half the supplies can get us a beautiful woman, I think it’s worth it.”

“I like the way Bai thinks.”

Tang Ze patted An Bai’s head in praise.

Sun Ting shrugged. Oh, you little Bai, I taught you so many tricks, and now you’re competing with me for favor.

She immediately sent a voice message in the complex group chat.

“Hello everyone, this is Sun Ting from Building Three. Are you worried about hunger? Are you going crazy from thirst? I can help you solve these problems! I’m trading these supplies behind me for genuine, beautiful kittens. Private message me if you’re interested~ Meow~” She then took a picture of the supplies and sent it to the group.

As soon as she sent it, numerous friend requests popped up.

The three of them looked through the requests with interest. They were all heavily edited pictures and fake profiles.

Sun Ting and An Bai were too familiar with these tactics. They quickly lost interest. This method wouldn’t work.

There was even a 50-year-old woman claiming to be the reincarnation of Daji, saying she could become young again with just a sip of water.

Tang Ze laughed until his stomach hurt.

Forget it, it seems we can’t find any beauties this way. Let’s just grind some experience points and keep looking. We have plenty of time.

    Building Four, Ding Feng’s bedroom.

“That streamer is actually trying to trade supplies for beautiful women. Is that delivery guy dead or not?”

Ding Feng’s brows furrowed. That delivery guy was making him nervous.

His girlfriend whispered, “Maybe the one with the gun killed the delivery guy, and the two women joined the gunman.”

“But he definitely doesn’t have much ammo left.”

Ding Feng said in a deep voice.

“Don’t forget, there’s another gun out there.”

His girlfriend reminded him. It was like the mantis stalking the cicada, unaware of the oriole behind. Building Three was too strange.

Ding Feng’s eyes suddenly lit up. “Aren’t they looking for beautiful women? Send someone to check it out.”

“I’ve already had the women add them on WeChat, but they were all rejected.”

Ding Feng rubbed his forehead. Finding beauties like the streamer was no easy task.

“I think we still need a night raid.”

    His girlfriend suggested.

Ding Feng agreed. Those supplies were more tempting than women. He had to get them.

    Building One, Apartment 2801.

Ye Qingyi tossed and turned, unable to sleep. She opened WeChat. Several of her best friends were unreachable, likely in danger. Only her friends who lived in upscale communities were relatively safe, but as her brother-in-law had said, it was only temporary.

Opening the complex residents’ group chat, Ye Qingyi saw that many women were chatting. Scrolling up the chat history, she immediately saw Sun Ting’s advertisement.

“Hello everyone, are you worried about hunger? Are you going crazy from thirst? I can help you solve these problems! I’m trading these supplies behind me for genuine, beautiful kittens. Private message me if you’re interested~ Meow~”

Looking at Sun Ting’s sweet smile and smooth skin, Ye Qingyi felt envious, especially seeing the picture of boxes of water and various foods. Her stomach even rumbled.

However, the food at home could last for another month. Ye Qingyi wouldn’t throw herself into the net to become a “kitty” and meow like a cat. Unless she was crazy.

Just then, a video call came in.

Seeing the caller ID, a long-lost smile appeared on Ye Qingyi’s face.

“Zi Hui, you’re still awake so late?”

A gentle voice came from her lips.

A magnetic male voice came from the phone. “Couldn’t sleep. Missing you.”

    “I miss you too.”

A moment of silence followed. Although they weren’t married yet, they were engaged, planning to wed at the end of the year. Unfortunately, this disaster had struck.

  • I Raise Goddesses in the Apocalypse 14

Chapter 14: This Must Be a Shaolin Disciple

Since the apocalypse began, Ye Qingyi hadn’t stepped outside. Especially during the riots, she had been hiding in her bedroom. Even now, no one in the complex knew of her existence. She had only come to her sister and brother-in-law’s apartment for a meal before taking a flight back to Yunhai City.

As a result, the whole world descended into chaos. Seeing the female corpses downstairs, Ye Qingyi knew that if anyone found out about her, her fate wouldn’t be much better.

Ye Yuling, having also heard the gunshots, quickly pulled her sister away from the window, scolding, “Are you trying to get yourself killed?! Bullets have no eyes!”

    “Sister, when will this end?”

Ye Qingyi was on the verge of collapse. Sometimes she just wanted to jump and end it all, but she couldn’t bring herself to do it.

Ye Yuling sighed. “Our Building One is still relatively safe. Your brother-in-law is in control, and things won’t get out of hand. Look at the other buildings, they’re already in chaos.”

Beep, beep, beep. The sound of someone entering the passcode at the door made Ye Yuling immediately pull Ye Qingyi behind her, watching vigilantly.

Seeing that it was her husband returning, she relaxed.

“Honey, how did the meeting go? Why were there gunshots in Building Three again?”

Ye Yuling helped him take off his coat and asked curiously. Ye Qingyi quickly poured a small glass of water. “Brother-in-law, have some water.”

Xie Yuhong hummed in acknowledgement, took the glass, but didn’t drink it all at once, just took a small sip, and then placed it on the coffee table.

His next words made the sisters’ faces change drastically.

“The men in Building Three are probably all dead.”

    “What?!”

    “What?!”

The sisters looked at each other. How could they all be dead so suddenly? They hadn’t heard anything about this.

Xie Yuhong patted his pockets, wanting a cigarette, but found none. He could only give up. “They were all killed by a delivery guy.”

    A delivery guy?

The sisters were in disbelief. They had heard that there were hidden masters among delivery drivers, but they had always thought it was a joke. Now, it seemed very real.

“I have a video, do you want to watch it? It’s a bit bloody.”

Xie Yuhong took out his phone.

They had seen piles of corpses on the lawn below, what was there to be afraid of?

The sisters sat on the sofa and watched the video.

Seeing Tang Ze, Ye Yuling frowned slightly. “This delivery guy looks familiar. I think he’s delivered to our place before.”

    “Yes, he has.”

    Xie Yuhong nodded.

Ye Qingyi immediately noticed Sun Ting and An Bai.

Their attire made Ye Qingyi blush. How could they go out dressed like that? But they looked so clean, and their hair was so smooth. Even though she used conditioner every day, her hair was still dirty.

Even in the apocalypse, beautiful women still compared themselves to others. Ye Qingyi felt she wasn’t inferior to them.

“Brother-in-law, why are they with that delivery guy? Are they being threatened?”

Ye Qingyi asked curiously. Why would two such beautiful women be with him?

Xie Yuhong asked back, “Looking at their expressions, do you think they’re being threatened?”

Ye Qingyi looked closely. They seemed so docile, even meowing. There was no sign of resentment in their eyes, even a hint of pride.

“Those two women must have been brainwashed, turned into that delivery guy’s pet cats.”

Xie Yuhong thought this was the only explanation.

    “I agree with your brother-in-law.”

Ye Yuling said. Ye Qingyi expressed her doubts. “But how are they so clean? Unless they’ve showered, but the water is cut off.”

The couple exchanged glances, puzzled. They couldn’t figure it out.

When they saw Tang Ze’s killing spree in the video, Ye Qingyi covered her mouth, and Ye Yuling was also stunned.

    He was too fierce!

The three-minute video would probably take them days to process.

“Honey, he should be the national martial arts champion.”

Ye Yuling said in a daze.

“Anyway, Building Three is pretty much just him left now. Those gunshots we heard just now, it was either the delivery guy getting killed, or those women in Building Three. No other possibility.”

Xie Yuhong’s reasoning was sound; he had guessed half of it correctly.

After a while, Ye Yuling asked softly, “How did today’s meeting go?”

Xie Yuhong didn’t answer directly. He said to Ye Qingyi, “Qingyi, go get a piece of bread from the bedroom.”

    “Oh, okay.”

Ye Qingyi got up, went to the bedroom, and closed the door. But she immediately pressed her ear against it, eavesdropping. She knew her brother-in-law was trying to get her out of the room.

Xie Yuhong said in a deep voice, “Our Building One is safe for now, but it will descend into chaos sooner or later. I’ve noticed that some have started trading food for women. They probably saw the other buildings doing it and started doing it behind my back.”

    “We have to stop them!”

“How? Several of them are pressuring me. Fortunately, Gangzi still supports me. If it weren’t for me leading them to find food, they wouldn’t even respect me.”

Ye Yuling was anxious. “What should we do?”

“You need to prepare Qingyi mentally. She’s very beautiful, and sooner or later, people will notice. When that happens…”

Xie Yuhong didn’t finish his sentence. There were too many living examples on the lawn outside.

Ye Yuling clasped her hands together, praying for this disaster to end quickly.

Eavesdropping, Ye Qingyi slowly sat on the floor, her face paling. Images of the naked female corpses filled her mind, and she let out a soft sob.

    “Is our daughter okay?”

Xie Yuhong asked in a low voice.

Ye Yuling nodded. “She’s fine. The school cafeteria still has enough food and water.”

“University students generally have higher morals, unlike the people living here. Most are renters, struggling at the bottom of society, filled with resentment. That’s why they lost their humanity so quickly.”

Xie Yuhong sighed repeatedly, lamenting the state of the world. Couldn’t they unite and face the disaster together?

However, he knew clearly that once the food ran out, even those with high morals would revert to their animalistic nature.

At that moment, the sound of Tang Ze vomiting came from the stairwell of Building Three.

Holding onto the railing, Tang Ze gasped for breath. It was the first time he had killed so many people, and he couldn’t ignore it completely.

These past few days, all he had thought about was the law of the apocalypse. Perhaps even he didn’t realize he was hypnotizing himself, using the law of the apocalypse to mask his humanity, to justify his actions.

However, when this self-hypnosis stopped, and the gruesome images flooded back, he felt nauseous.

But he quickly calmed down, reminding himself of the law of the apocalypse.

Don’t think you’re wrong. In the apocalypse, there is no right or wrong, only self-preservation.

Thinking this, his gaze became firm again.

I abide by the law of the apocalypse. I have no regrets.

Arriving downstairs, Tang Ze saw An Bai and Sun Ting dragging the bodies. The stairwell reeked of blood, which flowed down the steps, a horrifying sight.

  • I Raise Goddesses in the Apocalypse 13

Chapter 13: You Rob Me, I Rob You, That’s Fair

“It’s me, Zhou Min from the complex’s property management.”

Sun Ting remembered her now. She looked vaguely familiar. Whatever. “What’s the matter?”

“Well, we’re all women. Moving the bodies took a lot of energy, and Dong Fei always exploited us. We barely had anything to eat. Could you give us some food?”

Zhou Min waited nervously for Sun Ting’s answer.

Sun Ting couldn’t make this decision. She looked back at Tang Ze.

Tang Ze had his hands on An Bai’s slender waist. An Bai closed her eyes and leaned back slightly, a soft moan escaping her lips.

    “One slice of bread each.”

Tang Ze, in a good mood, showed some mercy.

Sun Ting nodded and opened a box of Three Squirrels bread, the kind with egg yolk filling.

    One slice per person.

    “Alright, go now.”

Sun Ting’s gaze grew impatient. Don’t interrupt me pleasing Tang Ze. Look at An Bai, working so hard.

However, Zhou Min stopped the closing door with her hand and said shamelessly, “Can we have both boxes?”

    Sun Ting’s expression darkened.

Tang Ze frowned, his grip subconsciously tightening. An Bai hissed and opened her eyes.

    “Bai, take a break.”

An Bai, startled, thought something was wrong and gently rested her head on Tang Ze’s chest.

Tang Ze looked at the doorway and asked, “What did you just say?”

Facing Tang Ze, Zhou Min was still scared, but remembering that he seemed to avoid killing women, she grew a little bolder.

“Your name is Tang Ze, right? You even delivered food to my place before.”

Zhou Min immediately tried to establish a connection, but her flattery was clumsy and misplaced.

    “Oh, you’re from property management.”

Tang Ze gave a friendly smile again.

Seeing Tang Ze so docile, she became even bolder. “Well, you see, there are so many supplies here. Could you give us two boxes? You can’t possibly finish all of this.”

    “That sounds reasonable.”

Tang Ze nodded. Zhou Min was overjoyed.

“We’ll just take a little, not too much.”

Tang Ze remained silent. Zhou Min took his silence as agreement and pushed Sun Ting aside. Sun Ting lost her balance and fell, wanting to cry from the pain. She looked at Tang Ze, who was just watching with a smile.

“Old Li, there are spicy strips here! Carry them away!”

“There are even french fries! Help me! And duck necks, chicken wings, so much!”

    “Take this box too!”

The women began an endless hauling of supplies.

Tang Ze patted An Bai. An Bai bit her lip and looked at him, her eyes filled with desire.

Tang Ze walked over and smiled. “Still moving things?”

“Well, you can’t finish all this anyway. There’s another box here, hurry up!”

Zhou Min replied to Tang Ze while urging her companions to carry the supplies. Her greedy expression made Sun Ting want to vomit.

She and An Bai had paid a price for their food and water, while these women just wanted to get something for nothing. How despicable!

Half of the supplies in the apartment were piled up outside the door.

Zhou Min clapped her hands and smiled. “Don’t worry, young man, we’ll remember this. When things are safe again, we’ll definitely help you cover up the murders.”

    “I should thank you then.”

    Tang Ze laughed.

“No need, no need. We’re all neighbors in the same complex, it’s fate. If there’s nothing else, we’ll be going now.”

Tang Ze scratched his head and said sullenly, “You robbed me of so much stuff, and you’re just leaving like that? Isn’t that a bit inappropriate, auntie?”

“How can you talk like that, young man? We didn’t rob you, we took it.”

Zhou Min immediately put on a condescending, elder’s demeanor.

“Just to be clear, I didn’t agree to you taking anything. My kitties can testify.”

Sun Ting nodded immediately. An Bai, sitting on the floor, nodded along.

“You, you’re unreasonable! Let’s go, don’t bother with them.”

Zhou Min waved her hand, not wanting to talk to Tang Ze any longer, seemingly forgetting how easily he had killed earlier.

Tang Ze sighed, pulled out his pistol, and smiled. “Alright, then it’s my turn to rob you.”

    Bang!

The bullet pierced through the back of Zhou Min’s head. She fell forward, blood slowly oozing out, her eyes wide open.

The women outside were waiting for the elevator, smiles on their faces, when they suddenly heard the gunshot and saw Zhou Min collapse. The sight of the back of her head was horrifying.

Then they saw Tang Ze walking out with a smile, a black pistol in his hand. Silence fell instantly.

“You rob me, I rob you. It’s all about fairness.”

Finally, one woman reacted. Her first instinct wasn’t to run, but to scream.

    “Ah!!!”

    Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang.

A series of gunshots echoed through Building Three. Everyone in the complex was filled with panic, not knowing what was happening.

    Building Four.

“Boss, Boss! Gunshots in Building Three!!!”

“I’m not deaf, I heard it!”

Ding Feng said in a deep voice, holding his girlfriend.

His girlfriend smiled. “I wonder if the delivery guy was killed.”

Ding Feng speculated, “Very likely. The one with the gun must have been waiting for the right moment. He probably doesn’t have much ammo. As soon as the delivery guy took out Dong Fei’s men, he jumped out.”

Many agreed with Ding Feng’s speculation; it was highly possible.

“Brother Feng, should we go take a look?”

    His girlfriend suggested.

“Let’s wait a couple of days.”

    Ding Feng was still cautious.

Meanwhile, on the 28th floor of Building One, in Apartment 2801.

    “Sister, gunshots again.”

A 25-year-old woman stood by the window, looking out, her bright eyes filled with fear.

This woman possessed an indescribable beauty. Her features seemed to be meticulously sculpted by nature, with both the demureness of an Oriental woman and the sharp features of a Westerner. Her eyes revealed intelligence and gentleness. Although many days had passed, her white dress was still clean and pristine.

As a gentle breeze blew, the hem of her dress swayed slightly, giving her a melancholic air. It was a pity that her beautiful figure was hidden by the white dress, but one could still discern her attractive waist and shapely hips.

In the kitchen was a woman in her fifties, her face lined with wrinkles, slightly overweight. But from her features, one could see that she had been as beautiful as her younger sister in her youth. Now, however, she was past her prime.

The older sister was Ye Yuling, the younger sister Ye Qingyi.

They were biological sisters, born years apart because their parents had wanted a son later in life, but ended up with another daughter.

  • I Raise Goddesses in the Apocalypse 12

    Chapter 12: Say Thank You

More than ten corpses lay around Tang Ze, blood flowing like a river. Even his clothes were stained with blood.

The remaining three men, seeing Tang Ze like a god of death, ran towards the elevator.

    “Trying to run?”

Tang Ze flung the horse-slaying saber with force. It pierced through all three men, leaving everyone dumbfounded. So strong!

This must be a Shaolin disciple hiding in Meituan (the food delivery company)!

Seeing such a formidable Tang Ze, Ding Feng changed his plans. This guy was too strong for a direct confrontation. He needed to use strategy.

The garage was now filled with the stench of blood and gore. The only men left were Tang Ze and Dong Fei.

In just five minutes, Tang Ze had killed all the men from Building Three. Those who hadn’t come were lucky.

Dong Fei, looking at the demonic Tang Ze, tremblingly took out a cigarette from his pocket. His hand shook so violently that he couldn’t light it, even after several tries.

Tang Ze smiled and took out his lighter. “Out of gas? Here, I have one.”

Dong Fei watched in terror as Tang Ze leaned closer, lighting his cigarette with a few flicks of his wrist.

“You didn’t even try to shield the flame, and you didn’t say thank you. Very impolite.”

Tang Ze said helplessly. Why were people so impolite? He offered a light, the other person should have shielded the flame with their hand. Didn’t they understand basic etiquette?

Dong Fei stammered, “Th… Thank you.”

As soon as he finished speaking, Tang Ze’s fist slammed into Dong Fei’s heart, caving in his chest. Dong Fei crashed into the Porsche 718, shattering the windshield.

“I hate impolite people the most.”

Tang Ze lit a cigarette and glanced around. People from the neighboring buildings were watching. Seeing Tang Ze’s gaze, some instinctively looked away.

Sun Ting and An Bai, looking at the powerful Tang Ze, were glad for their choice. They obediently placed the dog collars into his hand.

In a corner, twelve women huddled, trembling, afraid that Tang Ze would kill them too. Almost all the men in Building Three were dead.

Tang Ze stopped and looked at the group of women. “Lift your heads.”

No one dared to disobey. They raised their heads.

Tang Ze sighed inwardly. None of them were attractive; they were all older women.

“Clean up these intestines, livers, and whatnot. One bottle of water each. Come to Dong Fei’s apartment to collect it.”

Hearing this, the women were instantly motivated. Even those who found their husbands’ bodies among the dead showed no emotion as they cleaned, though a few wept softly.

Seeing Tang Ze leave, Ding Feng turned away with a cold expression.

“Boss, what do we do? Dong Fei’s group has been wiped out.”

“It doesn’t matter that they’re dead, the main thing is the supplies. It’s good that there are fewer mouths to feed.”

A wicked smile appeared on Ding Feng’s lips. He felt that Tang Ze had inadvertently done him a favor. Once he killed Tang Ze, he could take all of Dong Fei’s supplies.

Meanwhile, Tang Ze arrived at Dong Fei’s apartment. Supplies were piled everywhere, but Tang Ze didn’t care much.

He just wanted to see what he had plundered. “Check the bedrooms.”

The two women agreed and opened the bedroom doors. As Sun Ting opened one door, a foul stench assaulted her.

She turned on the light and stared in shock at the corpse on the bed.

    Wasn’t this her good friend?

Looking closer, she spotted lividity—dark purplish patches—on the corpse, and the eyes were wide open.

These people hadn’t even spared the dead!

Sun Ting clenched her fists, recalling the scene of Tang Ze slaughtering them, feeling a sense of satisfaction.

An Bai came in and took a look, her eyebrows furrowing. She whispered, “If Ning Gu had sold me, I would have ended up like her.”

“Me too. You check the other bedroom.”

    “Okay.”

    “What’s wrong?”

Tang Ze walked in and frowned at the corpse on the bed.

“Nothing, just a friend of mine.”

“Oh, throw her out. She stinks.”

Tang Ze covered his nose. These people were truly depraved, playing with a corpse that had been dead for days.

Sun Ting agreed, opened the window, and threw the body out.

“Master, there’s a lot of alcohol and cigarettes here.”

An Bai called out from the master bedroom.

Tang Ze went in and looked. “Wow, Dong Fei was living the good life, hoarding so much stuff, yet so stingy.”

He took a bottle of red wine and walked out of the bedroom, seeing Sun Ting come out. “Go prepare the mineral water. Let them collect it later. A promise is a promise.”

    “Okay.”

Tang Ze lay down in a rocking chair and took a sip of wine.

“Then, can I, can I do something?”

An Bai knelt beside Tang Ze and asked obediently. She wanted to be useful. Seeing Sun Ting’s friend’s corpse had made her afraid of being abandoned and suffering the same fate.

Tang Ze smiled and patted his leg.

An Bai paused, then straddled him shyly.

    “Here, have some wine.”

Tang Ze handed her the bottle.

An Bai took the wine and brought it to her lips, tilting her head back. Wine flowed down her chin. She was a truly seductive creature.

Just then, the women appeared at the door. Seeing Tang Ze and An Bai in the rocking chair, they paused, but weren’t too surprised. They had seen too much these past few days and were numb.

But as women, they were jealous of their beauty, their clean bodies, and the scent of shower gel.

    They could even take showers!

They looked at themselves, their hands covered in blood and grime, worse off than scavengers.

“This is your reward. Take it and go.”

Sun Ting had already arranged everything, one bottle of water per person.

Each woman received her reward. But seeing all the food and the cases of mineral water stacked in the corner, different thoughts arose in their minds.

One woman called the others over and started whispering.

“That’s all the supplies Dong Fei plundered. Is this small amount all we get? It’s too little!”

A 40-year-old woman immediately agreed. “Exactly! We worked so hard moving the bodies, and we only get one bottle of water? This is an insult!”

“Yeah, those three can’t eat all that. Besides, the men are all dead, there’s enough for us.”

They became more and more excited, as if they had returned to the time before the apocalypse.

After a while, the twelve women chose a representative and returned to the door.

“Hello there, I think we’ve met before.”

One of the women smiled at Sun Ting.

Sun Ting looked at the woman, but couldn’t recognize her. “Who are you?”

  • I Raise Goddesses in the Apocalypse 11

Chapter 11: Reasoning in the Apocalypse?

This was the first time An Bai had witnessed Tang Ze’s fighting prowess, and she was deeply shocked. Her previous worries and fears gradually disappeared, replaced by a confident and docile smile that slowly surfaced on her beautiful face.

Tang Ze sat on the hood of a car, with Sun Ting and An Bai perched on the ground on either side of him, their alluring bodies pressed against his legs, wearing expressions of contented pleasure.

This was undoubtedly a stab in the heart for the other men present. In the apocalypse, finding a clean woman was difficult, yet here he was with two, and they were so cooperative. Their expressions didn’t seem feigned either.

Tang Ze gently stroked the two women’s heads. “Just a small interlude. Weren’t we having a meeting? Let’s continue.”

Dong Fei narrowed his eyes, looking at the saber in Tang Ze’s hand, calculating. The key question was whether Tang Ze had a gun.

Dong Fei smiled, adjusted his glasses, and said, “Let’s continue then. Let’s summarize the incidents of someone impersonating the gunman these past few days. By the way, do you have a gun?”

Tang Ze raised an eyebrow and chuckled. “I’m a law-abiding citizen. How could I have something like that?”

Dong Fei was slightly relieved. It seemed this delivery guy really didn’t have a gun. If he did, he would have taken it out now to intimidate everyone.

Tang Ze knew this, but he was all about having fun.

I’ve worked my whole life, can’t I just let loose and have some fun now?

“And about the supplies, we’ll organize a group outing in a few days. Considering your saber skills, how about joining us?”

    “Not interested.”

Tang Ze said casually, playing with Sun Ting’s hair.

Dong Fei sensed the change in the expressions of the men around him. This delivery guy was challenging his authority. If he didn’t assert himself, they would lose their fear of him.

“So it seems you have quite a stockpile at home.”

His words made everyone look at Tang Ze. Beautiful women, food, and water; his life was better than before the apocalypse. They were envious, jealous!

“Indeed, quite a bit. Otherwise, how would I support them?”

Tang Ze pinched the cheeks of the two women, and they moaned comfortably.

A skinny fat man nearby immediately said, “Damn, why didn’t you say so earlier? Having supplies and not sharing with your neighbors, how selfish!”

    “I’m telling you now, aren’t I?”

    “Then share!”

    “Come and take it.”

Tang Ze laughed. Share with you? My foot.

The skinny fat man hesitated, looking at the horse-slaying saber tucked against An Bai’s chest, and the two halves of the corpse. He backed down.

Tang Ze spread his hands and shrugged. “Since you’re not taking it, I’ll kill you then.”

He flicked a sharp throwing knife. The fat man stood frozen, while a man behind him slowly collapsed, a throwing knife embedded in his forehead. It was the man who had offered three bottles of water for An Bai earlier.

“Uh, a little awkward. But give me another chance, I guarantee I won’t miss.”

Tang Ze smiled and pulled out another throwing knife. Everyone around him was terrified. He killed while talking and laughing, something even Dong Fei couldn’t do.

The skinny fat man immediately knelt on the ground, urine flowing down his legs. “Bro, I mean, Big Brother, I was just kidding.”

    “I never joke.”

Tang Ze smiled. This time, the throwing knife landed squarely in the fat man’s forehead.

Seeing the silence around him, Tang Ze lit a cigarette and exhaled a smoke ring. “Anyone else want to try and take it? If you can, everything I have is yours, including my big kitties.”

    “Meow~”

However, no one dared to move. They all looked at Dong Fei with hopeful eyes. Dong Fei knew that if he didn’t do something, his authority would vanish after tonight.

    “This brother, you’re impressive.”

    Dong Fei gave a thumbs-up.

Tang Ze accepted the compliment readily.

“But you may not know, the flight attendant beside you, her boyfriend has already sold her ownership to me.”

Dong Fei looked at An Bai.

An Bai’s heart trembled. She hadn’t expected Ning Gu to sell her outright. He had said it was just to accompany them daily.

She wanted to rush over to Ning Gu’s corpse and stab it a few more times.

Tang Ze nodded. “Really? I didn’t know. Call her boyfriend out here.”

Dong Fei’s lips twitched. Where would he find him? He was probably already dead by Tang Ze’s hand.

Dong Fei took out a piece of paper. “This is the sales contract written by her boyfriend.”

“Who knows if you wrote it yourself.”

    Tang Ze scoffed.

“It also has her boyfriend’s fingerprint.”

Dong Fei pointed to the bright red fingerprint. It wasn’t the red of an ink pad, but of blood.

Tang Ze shrugged. “Then how can you prove this fingerprint is her boyfriend’s? I think we need to find an institution to verify it.”

Dong Fei’s hands trembled with anger. He said coldly, “I’m trying to reason with you! Don’t push me!”

“It’s the apocalypse, who reasons anymore? Hahaha.”

Tang Ze couldn’t help but laugh.

Ding Feng and his men, peeking through the rolling shutter of Building Four, also burst into laughter. They felt that Dong Fei was finished, being played like this.

    “You’re toying with me!”

Dong Fei took off his glasses and roared.

Tang Ze lifted the chins of the two women, laughing. “He actually doesn’t know I’m toying with him.”

The two women couldn’t help but giggle.

These words instantly made Dong Fei lose his reason. “Kill him! One case of mineral water, no! Two cases of mineral water, plus ten packs of beef jerky! Ten self-heating hotpots! Twenty packs of instant noodles!”

    He was sparing no expense.

Under such a reward, there would always be brave men. Even Dong Fei’s own men picked up their knives and started to approach.

Tang Ze stood up, pulled the horse-slaying saber from An Bai’s chest, stretched his neck, and began the slaughter!

With a single leap and slash, he cut Dong Fei’s strategist in two. With a flick of his wrist, he then thrust upwards.

    “Ah!”

A man screamed in agony, his intestines spilling from his groin.

Just two moves scared everyone else from approaching, but Tang Ze charged in again, saber in hand.

    “Grab those two women!”

Dong Fei yelled. Perhaps capturing the women could control this delivery guy. How could a mere delivery guy be so strong? Was he from Shaolin Temple?

Sure enough, a few foolhardy men rushed toward the women, but Sun Ting and An Bai didn’t try to escape, standing still to be captured.

Just as a hand was about to grab An Bai’s arm, a throwing knife pierced his forehead. Tang Ze, standing a short distance away, said coldly, “Touching my food supply is worse than touching me.”

The two women had been scared, but seeing the man fall, they realized their worries were unnecessary. Both clenched their fists and meowed at Tang Ze.

Anyone who approached the women was hit in the forehead by Tang Ze’s throwing knives. He had practiced at home; those weren’t misses. He thought he should find a chance to practice his gun skills too.

Soon, four men lay dead around the two women. Now, no one dared to approach.

  • I Raise Goddesses in the Apocalypse 10

    Chapter 10: I Never Pretend

Suddenly, a thin man pulled his wife in front of Dong Fei, forcing a flattering smile. “Brother Dong, this is my wife. I want to trade her for two bottles of water.”

His words drew laughter from the surrounding men.

One of them pointed at the man’s wife. “You think your old hag is worth two bottles of mineral water? Get lost.”

“Then one, one bottle is enough. My wife is clean, untouched.”

The man excitedly held up a finger, his dry lips trembling as he pulled his wife closer to Dong Fei. The woman’s hair was dirty and tangled, unwashed for over ten days, and she emanated a strange odor.

Dong Fei snapped, “Get out! If you want food and drink, go get it yourself!”

This frail man would likely be beaten to death if he went outside.

“It’s all your fault! Why didn’t you go and fight for food?”

    The wife suddenly whispered.

Her words ignited the man’s anger. He grabbed her hair. “What use are you? You can’t even be traded for a bottle of water!”

“Are you even a man?! You heartless bastard, I’ll bite you to death!”

The woman bit her husband’s arm. The pain made him kick her, then he continued kicking her head.

“You say I’m heartless? At a time like this, you’re still worried about washing your face? I’ll wash it for you! I’ll wash it for you!”

The wife’s face was stained with blood. She had been struggling, but now she was still, kicked to death.

The man looked at his wife, his face pale, as if suddenly realizing what he had done. He knelt beside her body. “Wife, wife, I didn’t mean to, I was wrong.”

However, no one around him showed any sympathy. They had seen all kinds of deaths in these past few days.

Behind the rolling shutter of Building Four, Ding Feng had gathered more than twenty strong young men, mostly residents. Each one had a cigarette in his mouth, waiting for the right moment. Pliers were at the ready. As soon as Ding Feng gave the order, they would break into Building Three, overpower Dong Fei’s group, and seize their supplies.

But if they did this, the fragile order of the complex would be shattered again. The other buildings would also be on guard, and they wouldn’t even have a chance to drive out.

“Alright, let me say a few words.”

Seeing that neither Ning Gu nor Tang Ze had appeared, Dong Fei jumped off the car hood and addressed the crowd.

Just as he started speaking, the elevator dinged, and the doors slowly opened.

Tang Ze stepped out, dressed in casual clothes. Dong Fei hadn’t had a chance to observe him closely before, but now he did. He looked like an ordinary young man, the type who wouldn’t dare to kill anyone.

Suddenly, Dong Fei saw the people behind Tang Ze.

The next scene made everyone’s dry lips part slightly. Some even rubbed their eyes, thinking they were dreaming.

Two exquisitely beautiful women stepped out in high heels. Their faces showed no signs of weakness, instead flushed with a healthy glow. Their fair skin looked as if it had been washed daily, like ripe peaches.

Seeing the two women’s attire, the men swallowed hard.

Both wore cat-ear headbands and alluring cat-themed outfits. Their captivating figures, especially their hourglass waists, bombarded every man’s senses. White stockings showcased their long, slender legs to perfection.

At a time like this, two such stunning women appeared. The scene was silent. The other women present were instantly overshadowed, not even worthy of carrying their shoes.

And yet, these two celestial beings were following a delivery guy.

It was a complete paradigm shift.

The men looked at the women beside them, then at Sun Ting and An Bai. They weren’t on the same level at all. Look at how smooth their hair was, how radiant their skin was, compared to the dirty, haggard women beside them.

Sun Ting and An Bai were truly captivating today. Sun Ting wore a white version of the outfit, An Bai a pink one. The impact was extraordinary. Sun Ting was 168cm tall, her long legs on full display, and An Bai, at 169cm, also showed off her smooth, slender legs.

They walked with a confident, alluring gait. Before the apocalypse, they would have drawn stares. Now, in the apocalypse, they still drew stares, but for different reasons.

Sun Ting walked with confidence, showcasing her stunning figure, enjoying the men’s greedy yet unattainable gazes. An Bai, beside her, was much more shy, her beautiful eyes filled with nervousness and fear. But it was this delicate, pitiful appearance that drove the men around them wild.

“Isn’t that the streamer? She’s with the delivery guy?”

“That delivery guy must have a lot of supplies hoarded at home. Why didn’t we think of that?”

“The flight attendant! That’s the flight attendant! Damn, her rich boyfriend must be dead.”

Everyone understood. He had brought out the only two beautiful women in the building.

Dong Fei watched Tang Ze approach and couldn’t help but chuckle. “If you had stayed hidden, no one would have known. Bringing them out like this to show off, have you considered the consequences?”

“Consequences? What consequences? Why don’t you show me?”

Tang Ze said to Dong Fei with a smile.

People from the two neighboring buildings came to watch the commotion, whistling and shouting.

“Hey, bro, how much for the women? Will you sell them for three bottles of water?”

“Three bottles of water? I’ll offer a whole case! Give me those two.”

Suddenly, a sleazy man approached Sun Ting and reached out to touch her arm, a lewd expression on his dirty face.

Tang Ze instantly drew the horse-slaying saber from his waist and, with a smile, swung it down.

The dirty hand fell to the ground, and the man’s body slowly slid in half from his waist, his internal organs spilling out.

Everyone was stunned by Tang Ze’s ruthlessness. How strong must he be to cleave a man in two with one stroke?

He’s got some skills. No wonder he dared to bring two such beauties out to show off.

Tang Ze flicked his wrist, flinging the blood from the blade onto the ground, forming a line. He then said seriously, “Touching my food supply is the same as cutting off my lifeline. The only consequence is death.”

Everyone looked at each other, then at Dong Fei.

If they could take out this delivery guy, even just a chance with those two women would be worth dying for. Better to die a happy ghost than a starving one.

Sun Ting breathed a sigh of relief. She knew Tang Ze wasn’t someone who liked to show off. If he did, he would have brought her out long ago. Looking at the pile of gore beside her, she felt disgusted.

  • I Raise Goddesses in the Apocalypse 9

Chapter 9: Time to Make an Appearance

Ning Gu couldn’t understand. He had done as Tang Ze asked, so why did he still kill him?

Tang Ze’s reasoning was that he wouldn’t allow threats to grow; he would nip them in the bud.

However, the loud bang once again caused panic among the complex’s bosses.

The gunshot was clearly different, and anyone with a little knowledge could tell it was a different caliber.

This meant there were two guns in the complex!

Were they in the same hands? Or two different people?

The bosses held an emergency meeting in their group chat, terrified. If there were two people, and if they joined forces, they had no chance.

Inside the apartment, Sun Ting was relatively calm, while An Bai had fainted from fright, but Tang Ze woke her up.

After waking up, An Bai rushed to the bathroom to vomit.

A while later, she came out. Seeing Ning Gu lying in a pool of blood, An Bai realized she felt nothing. Shouldn’t she be grieving?

    “Give me a hand.”

    Sun Ting called out.

    “Oh.”

The two women dragged the body to the window and, with all their might, threw it down.

Sun Ting gasped for breath and looked at An Bai. “Are you okay?”

An Bai nodded, but her face was still pale. After all, this time the death happened right in front of her.

“I killed your boyfriend. You’re not angry, are you?”

Tang Ze handed her a glass of water, asking with a smile.

An Bai found that although Tang Ze’s smile was gentle, it sent chills down her spine. He was terrifying.

    An Bai shook her head.

“That’s good. Take care of yourself, that’s what you need to do now.”

Tang Ze was pleased. The two women could now alternate, doubling the progress, according to the system.

But he still felt it was too slow. He couldn’t bring himself to touch those other vulgar women.

“Are there any other beautiful women in our complex?”

Tang Ze asked curiously. After all, he was often out, maybe he had missed someone.

Sun Ting shook her head. She streamed from home all day, how would she know? An Bai flew all over the world and hadn’t lived here long. Even when she was here, she mostly stayed home.

So Tang Ze’s question was pointless.

“Both of you, come and massage my legs.”

The two women obediently sat on either side of him and started massaging. Tang Ze opened his phone to check the messages in the complex group chat.

Building 5: “F*ck, the gunman appeared and took my wife!”

Building 2: “The gunman appeared here too, and took my wife!”

Building 1: “How many gunmen are there?!”

Building 3: “The gunman is in our building! You’ve all been tricked. Everyone be careful.”

Building 5: “What?! So my wife was screwed for nothing?!”

Tang Ze sighed. Someone was impersonating him to take advantage of the situation. Tsk tsk.

The two women saw the messages but didn’t express their opinions. Smart women wouldn’t appear too opinionated, especially around Tang Ze. Opinionated women died quickly.

    “Go wash some fruit.”

Tang Ze said, still looking at his phone.

An Bai immediately got up to prepare. Sun Ting was stunned. Had she finally figured it out?

Not long after, An Bai returned with the fruit platter. It had to be said, her presentation was skillful. As they say:

Don’t challenge someone’s profession with your hobby. Leave professional matters to the professionals.

“It’s about time this gunman made an appearance.”

    Tang Ze said casually.

    The two women exchanged glances.

Sun Ting said worriedly, “There are many of them. It might not be safe to go out alone.”

If anything happened to Tang Ze, Sun Ting knew she wouldn’t fare well either.

An Bai didn’t speak, perhaps not having realized this yet.

The next day, the rain intensified. More and more bodies appeared in the complex’s central green area, some from jumping, some thrown. At least half were naked women.

This sight assaulted everyone’s senses. Despair spread, and humanity twisted.

But in Tang Ze’s apartment, there was no sign of change.

Sitting at the dining table, enjoying Hunan cuisine, Sun Ting and An Bai knelt on the floor, waiting for Tang Ze to finish eating. They ate his leftovers.

Burping, Tang Ze smiled. “Five dishes is a bit too much.”

He then poured the leftovers onto two separate plates. Although he called them leftovers, Tang Ze had barely touched them.

    “Eat.”

Placing the food in front of the two women, Tang Ze patted their heads.

He took out his phone and checked. Dong Fei had sent a message in the group chat, calling for a meeting in the underground parking garage that night.

“I’ll take you two out to play tonight.”

Hearing Tang Ze’s words, panic flashed in Sun Ting’s eyes. Tang Ze was only one person, bringing two women along. How could he handle it?

But she didn’t dare to object, just meekly meowed in agreement. Seeing this, An Bai could only do the same.

They hadn’t even enjoyed two days of good living, was it about to end? Why bring them along? Was it to show off?

Tang Ze’s reasoning was that showing off was one aspect, but another was to stir up trouble. In this apocalyptic world, going out with two beautiful women was akin to seeking death, like asking for trouble.

After all, he was a gentleman. If they didn’t make a move, how could he justify killing them?

Night quickly fell. People gradually appeared in Building Three’s parking garage, their moods low. They looked around vigilantly, especially at Dong Fei and his group.

The other buildings also seemed to be holding meetings that night, so the underground parking garage was bustling, but no one spoke. People stood with those they knew, occasionally glancing warily at others.

“Damn it, that Ning Gu disappeared! He even took my bread as a deposit!”

A middle-aged man with a receding hairline, seeing that Ning Gu hadn’t appeared, started cursing. He had been looking forward to some fun, but now it seemed he had been tricked.

“That bastard also took a marinated egg from me as a deposit! I’m going to chop him up later!”

Those who had paid deposits started complaining. Dong Fei sat on the hood of a car, cracking sunflower seeds. His men held kitchen knives and fruit knives, the most dangerous among them probably a large cleaver.

Dong Fei kept his eyes on the elevator. Was the missing Ning Gu the gunman? Or was it the delivery guy? Or was there someone else hiding in the shadows?

One of those two definitely had something to do with it!
