    Chapter 211: Bella’s Teeth

“Good morning. You seem tired. Do you need to sleep a little longer?”

At ten in the morning, Kailun, who was teasing Bella’s lips with his finger, noticed her opening her eyes.

She looked exhausted, her eyes filled with the disorientation of someone just waking up.

Bella instinctively opened her mouth and nibbled on his finger, savoring the sensation for a moment before her thoughts cleared.

“No need. Dragons have strong constitutions. This little pain won’t affect me… Ugh~”

As she spoke, Bella tried to get up but collapsed back onto the bed due to discomfort. She gave Kailun a resentful look. “It’s all your fault. I told you to be gentle, but you wouldn’t listen. You have no consideration for a lady.”

“You can’t blame me entirely. You told me to go all out, remember?” Kailun held Bella’s dragon horns. He wouldn’t take the blame for this.

“I was just being polite, you idiot! Idiot!” Bella struggled, but she couldn’t break free from his grasp.

Being held by her horns like this felt strange, especially with the playful smile on Kailun’s face. Bella had a bad feeling.

To prevent any “accidents,” she pushed against his chest and mumbled, “No more, I can’t take it anymore. My body will break if we continue. Let’s wait until tonight. Even dragons have their limits. You’re not human! How can a human have such stamina?”

Kailun tightened his grip on her horns. “I suspect you’re insulting me, and I have evidence. As punishment, I’m going to resume my ‘duties.’ Blame it on your deliciousness. Whoever started the fire has to put it out.”

“I’m not playing anymore. Go find Fox. She also needs to continue her lineage.”

Bella tucked her tail between her legs defensively. Although it felt good, her body had its limits.

She didn’t want to be “broken” from overindulgence. Continuing her lineage should be a gradual process. Rushing things would only be counterproductive.

Kailun chuckled slyly. “Fox? I’d love to catch up with that silly fox, but we’ll have to wait until we get back. Right now, I only have the lovely little dragon girl, Bella. What am I supposed to do?”

He found Bella’s flustered and angry reactions amusing. She was becoming more endearing to him.

Bella looked like a cornered rabbit. She hesitated for a moment before blushing and saying, “Can we… use other places?”

Kailun couldn’t help but laugh. Wasn’t that why he was holding her horns?

Although there were many different “operating methods,” for now, a firm grip was best.

“No problem. But don’t forget this morning’s task. Although your singing last night was good, there are still some areas for improvement. To accurately identify the problems, I’m going to personally ‘test’ your vocal cords. Is that alright?”

Kailun adjusted the position of her horns and gently pushed Bella under the covers.

    Bella: “Huh?”

She opened her mouth wide, not understanding what he meant by “test.”

But her confusion only lasted for half a minute. Bella quickly understood what kind of “test” he was referring to.

Her horns became handles, her throat a musical instrument. Under Kailun’s testing, she couldn’t help but let out strange sounds.

The variations in pitch were numerous, the transitions from high to low smooth and seamless. No wonder she had such a beautiful voice.

Apart from her technique, which still needed improvement, her tone was flawless.

At this point, Kailun couldn’t help but marvel at his luck. In his “research,” the girls in his household were all perfect, rare even in the entire world. It was a blessing to have met so many of them.

The morning testing lasted only half an hour. After listening to her singing, he went downstairs to pack some breakfast.

They set off again at noon. To reach the Abyss as soon as possible, Kailun maximized his teleportation magic, finally arriving at the entrance to the Abyss at one in the morning.

“Should we contact Grandpa?” Bella asked, holding Kailun’s arm as they stood under the shade of a large tree.

She hadn’t told anyone about this trip back to the Abyss, except for Fox. She had no other friends.

She might be the darling of the Abyss, but that was mostly wishful thinking. It was also partly due to the old Dragon King Bolton’s immense strength.

Moreover, Bella had reached the eighth rank at such a young age solely through her racial talent. Very few could match her, and Fox was the only one in the entire Abyss.

“No need. Do you know where the ancestral land of the Abyss is? Take me there.”

Kailun shook his head. There were only two eighth-rank guards at the main entrance of the Abyss. Although there were magic formations enhancing the defenses, it was still too weak. Kailun could easily sneak in.

He was thankful that the Temple of the Celestial God was currently facing internal problems. Otherwise, he doubted if the Abyss could withstand another attack.

Bella thought for a moment. “I know. I went there a few times when I was little. I still remember the way. But the ancestral land has undergone many strange changes in recent years. Very few people go there now.”

It seemed that since she was a child, the once normal ancestral land had become increasingly eerie, and the mines connected to it had produced more and more impure magic crystals.

The Abyssal high-ranking individuals would raise this issue every few years, but no effective solution had been found in the past ten years.

To avoid any accidents, they had restricted access to the ancestral land.

“Then I’ll leave the navigation to you. Once we’re inside, we’ll secretly seal off the ancestral land and then slowly search for someone.”

Kailun rubbed Bella’s hair. He had reminded Helena to stay in a safe place alone.

He would withdraw most of his attribute points for the next few days, leaving Helena with barely enough strength to maintain her ninth-rank level.

If she encountered a situation where she desperately needed power, she could contact him, but there would be a few seconds of delay.

After withdrawing some of his power, Kailun would have the attributes of five ninth-rank mages, enough to handle most situations.

That unlucky entity currently had less than the attributes of two ninth-rank mages. Kailun believed he could handle her.

Bella: “Search for someone? Search for who?”

“An unlucky entity. I’m going to perform a ‘catching a turtle in a jar’ (like taking candy from a baby(something easy to do). If we can catch her, we can obtain some crucial information.”

Kailun flicked Bella’s dragon horn. For some reason, he always had strange thoughts about her horns.

Bella covered her horns and took a step back warily. “They’ll break! They’ll really break!”

Kailun: “It’s okay. I know healing magic. Even if they break, I can reattach them. Just like your teeth.”

Hearing him mention her teeth, Bella’s eyes widened. She stomped her foot in embarrassment. “Don’t mention my teeth! Or I’ll bite you!”

Kailun’s eyes gleamed. “That would be lovely. Please bite harder. This morning’s bite was a bit weak. Not satisfying enough. It would be even better if your bite force was stronger. You can do it, right?”

“…” Bella raised her fist. “Then you might as well pull out all my teeth, you pervert.”

Kailun caught her small fist and continued joking, “That’s a good suggestion. I haven’t experienced what it’s like to be toothless.”

“Go to hell! I don’t want to talk to you today.” Bella kicked him lightly and walked towards the path leading to the ancestral land.

Kailun chuckled and followed her. After last night, Bella had become much more lively. He felt that this was her true personality.

He walked a meter behind her, grabbing her swaying tail. She glared at him but didn’t say anything.

So Kailun played with her tail as they minimized their presence.

    ……

In the ancestral land deep within the Abyss, a petite figure sitting on a ferocious statue suddenly stood up.

Ottovia had a bad feeling. She looked around but didn’t see anyone. The eerie environment, combined with the colorful tombstones, created a strange atmosphere.

However, no matter how eerie the environment was, it couldn’t affect Ottovia’s state of mind. After all, she had witnessed countless lives and deaths over the years.

Although she had spent most of her time in slumber, she had seen her fair share of the world.

She had returned to the Abyss’s ancestral land to utilize its power, but after several attempts, Ottovia realized that her status as an ancestor was practically nonexistent. The people of the Abyss probably wouldn’t acknowledge her.

It was highly unlikely that she could regain control of the Abyss, so she could only try to win over some gullible individuals.

Another reason was that she had made a new discovery in the ancestral land. Something had appeared here that shouldn’t have.

Ottovia, who had once reached the peak of power, could sense that the rules of this place had undergone a special change.

She didn’t know the specifics, but staying here would definitely yield some results.

“I have a bad feeling about today. Should I run away first?”

Ottovia hesitated. The last time she had this bad feeling was when she encountered that bastard named Kailun.

    Who was it this time?

Many things had changed over the past ten thousand years, but the one thing that remained unchanged was her unlucky constitution.

Interestingly, although she was unlucky, she always managed to survive. And after surviving, she would continue to be unlucky.

It was like a cycle, an endless loop.

This was the main reason why Fate had failed to kill her after countless attempts. She had even launched effective counterattacks in the later stages, but the result was always mutual destruction.

Well, she had suffered slightly more losses.

“But if I run away, will I be able to find the answers I’m looking for?”

Ottovia hesitated, standing atop the statue. If she missed this opportunity, it would be difficult for her to return to the Abyss again.

After waking up, she had gathered a lot of information, and Kailun’s sudden rise had caught her attention.

Initially, she had thought Kailun was Fate’s doing. After all, she had sensed a trace of Fate’s aura on him. But after learning about the conflict between Kailun and the Temple of the Celestial God, she dismissed her initial assumption.

“Forget it, I’ll run away first. As long as I’m alive, there’s hope.”

Ottovia finally made up her mind. Just as she was about to spread her wings and escape, a white light flashed across the sky, and the mana in the entire ancestral land became chaotic.

She instinctively activated teleportation magic, but it had no effect.

When she tried to flap her wings again, she discovered that both exits were blocked. The newcomers were a man and a dragon.

    “It’s you!”

Ottovia’s pupils constricted sharply upon seeing that demonic figure.

    Chapter 210: Sigh

People are vastly different from each other, let alone humans and dragons.

Bella’s existence brought Kailun many novel experiences, and with a little attention, he could discover many interesting things about her.

The external differences had already brought him much enjoyment, so what about the internal ones?

Driven by this curiosity, Kailun continued to guide Bella towards maturity.

“A young eagle needs a push to learn to fly. Let me teach you today.”

Twenty minutes had passed since Bella began her exploration. If not for his curiosity, Kailun would have already fallen asleep.

    “Huh?”

Bella tilted her head in confusion, a strand of lavender hair falling across her face. Her expression still held the innocence of a fledgling.

“Your voice is nice. I think you would sing beautifully.” Kailun tucked the strand of hair behind her ear. He wanted to hear Bella sing.

He had heard many voices, each with its own unique characteristics. He wondered what Bella’s voice would sound like.

    “But I can’t sing.”

Bella averted her gaze. When she came back to her senses, she was already pinned beneath Kailun.

Her heart was pounding, her body weak and pliant.

Although Bella was bold in her thoughts, she was still an innocent maiden. Without Kailun’s guidance, she would struggle to take flight.

“It’s okay, I can teach you. I remember a song called ‘Sigh’ that’s quite fitting.”

Kailun supported his weight with one hand and used the other to move aside Bella’s tail, which she had been using to cover herself.

With a single glance, Kailun knew she was ready. No wonder her body was so soft; she had been holding back for a while.

She might be inexperienced, but biological instincts always played a guiding role. All Kailun had to do was give her a gentle push.

Thanks to the convenient bunny girl outfit, he only needed to tear the stockings between her thighs to reveal a glimpse of the truth.

“Mmm~” Bella’s eyes were alluring as she gazed at Kailun’s face and obediently parted her legs.

Not only that, she nibbled on her lower lip and shyly moved aside her outfit to reveal her “treasure,” her hands clumsily opening her heart to him. “Is this… okay?”

A thunderclap resonated in Kailun’s mind. A flurry of poetic phrases flashed through his thoughts: shimmering scales, morning dew of spring, a dreamlike haven, cherry blossoms in a courtyard… A shy maiden was always alluring, but even more so when she took that first step herself.

Kailun could see both shyness and determination in Bella’s face, her eyes full of affection.

Even Kailun felt a twinge of reluctance to “bully” such a naive dragon.

But he still had to teach her the song. “Imparting knowledge and resolving doubts” had its own meaning.

“I really want to hear your beautiful voice, to touch all of you…”

Kailun caressed Bella’s face. He no longer needed to hold back.

As he moved gently, Bella’s breathing grew more rapid. She was accommodating, enduring, yearning to sing her heart out.

He remembered the lyrics well, so he began to teach Bella:

In the deepest darkness, a fire ignites, illuminating the darkest corners of the night.

Your fingertips trace my pulse, stirring a storm of secret desires.

Petals fall, like whispers beneath the clouds.

Challenging my senses, testing my resolve.

Gentle rain falls, already intertwined and fused.

    We crave this innocent evil.

Faint murmurs fill the air, enveloping Mount Wu.

    Dreamlike, floating among the clouds.

Entangled in a passionate embrace, indulging in momentary bliss.

On the shores of dreams, sinking into the mire.

    Acknowledging solitude, embracing clarity.

No longer alone, with you by my side.

Forget, forget, let it all go, sway to my rhythm.

Sway, sway, sway again, a glimmer of light, now seen, now gone.

All the same, all the same, all earthly forms lost in confusion.

Desire fills the flesh, fleeing at the edge of dreams.

Petals fall, like whispers beneath the clouds.

Challenging my senses, testing my resolve.

As the song ended, Bella gradually grasped the rhythm and began to sing along with Kailun.

Her dreamy voice was like a pair of jade hands caressing his soul, each note infused with emotion.

Perhaps because it was her first time singing a love song, Bella’s voice carried a hint of pain, a tugging and intertwining sound that invaded her consciousness, making her lose herself.

Sometimes, she even messed up the lyrics, unsure whether it was Kailun’s turn to sing or hers.

Kailun didn’t blame her for breaking the rhythm. He patiently guided her, telling her when to raise her pitch, when to lower it. Whether she was “rising” or “falling,” he was there to guide her.

After finishing the song, Bella was clearly exhausted. Her forehead was covered in sweat, and she couldn’t muster the strength to sing another note.

Thankfully, Kailun could increase her physical attributes. Otherwise, she wouldn’t be able to go for a second round.

With the experience from the first song, Bella was much more proficient this time. Not only could she keep up with Kailun’s rhythm, but she could also take the lead.

Although still a bit clumsy, she was constantly improving.

While her singing technique still needed work, her voice itself was incredibly beautiful. Even Kailun, who had heard many celestial melodies, couldn’t find any flaws.

Her voice was smooth and rich, full of emotion and a sense of inclusiveness.

It was captivating, and if he ever missed his nightly lullaby, he might toss and turn for hours before falling asleep.

Ancient people enjoyed listening to music in brothels, while Kailun preferred to appreciate the “flowers” in his own garden.

He would admire them today, and he would admire them tomorrow. Wasn’t this a kind of carefree freedom?

After all that, what Kailun really wanted to say was that Bella’s sweet voice was incredibly alluring.

“This is a high note. You need to raise your pitch a bit. Yes, a bit higher.”

Kailun pulled on Bella’s tail as she lay on the pillow.

    “Oh~”

Bella glanced back at Kailun, recalling the lyrics as she raised her pitch.

She had to do this to match Kailun’s “height.”

Singing wasn’t difficult, but singing well was challenging. She felt that she still had a long way to go.

Lost in the beautiful melody, Bella gradually lost herself. Immersed in the song, she became part of the lyrics.

It was three in the morning. Even with Kailun’s attribute boost, Bella’s voice was hoarse, and she couldn’t sing another word.

Humans had their limits, and so did dragons.

Three hours was Bella’s limit as a novice singer. If she continued, her throat would explode.

In the last second before falling asleep, Bella contentedly touched her slightly swollen belly, kissed Kailun’s forehead, and then snuggled into his arms, falling into a deep sleep.

As if afraid that he would leave, she wrapped her tail tightly around his waist.

“Goodnight. I hope I can hear your singing again when I wake up tomorrow morning.” Kailun rubbed his chin against Bella’s smooth forehead.

Because of her horns, he had to find the right position to avoid being poked.

At this moment, Kailun was very content. Her beautiful singing had left him feeling light and airy.

If not for Bella’s physical condition, he would have wanted to listen for a while longer.

He cast a simple cleansing spell to remove any negative status effects from their bodies and then checked Bella’s goodwill rating.

Although he had heard the notifications before, he hadn’t had time to pay attention.

After this “battle,” Bella’s goodwill had reached 99. It was a pity that it hadn’t reached 100, but Kailun didn’t mind.

He believed it was only a matter of time before it exceeded 100. There was no need to dwell on it. Worrying about such trivial matters would only lower his “class.”

Kailun tossed the torn bunny girl outfit under the bed and then hugged the soft Bella, falling asleep with a satisfied smile.

    ……

“Your Majesty, based on our investigation, both the Abyss and the Xiya Kingdom have made unusual moves recently. According to our insider, a new ancestor has appeared in the Abyss, and Dragon King Bolton has suppressed the news. As for the Xiya Kingdom…”

At seven in the morning, the Empress summoned several ministers to her usual meeting place.

She played chess against herself while inquiring about the recent situation.

Although she was playing against herself, the ministers noticed a stark difference between her playing style in the first move and the second move, as if two different people were playing.

Not only that, but the speed of her moves also varied greatly, creating a strange spectacle.

“Oh, I didn’t expect her to show up so soon. It seems she’s in a hurry.”

The Empress paused slightly as she made her move. A charming smile appeared on her face, much gentler than her usual unpredictable demeanor.

The elderly minister, seeing this, felt a chill run down her spine instead of appreciating the beauty. She quickly lowered her head and reported, “We haven’t been able to obtain any concrete information about the ancestor. Please punish us, Your Majesty.”

Actually, she had heard some rumors, but she didn’t dare to speak up in this public setting.

The Empress held the chess piece in her hand, not in a hurry to make her move. She glanced at the minister. “It’s normal that you haven’t found any concrete information. Although she’s a bit unlucky, she’s not ordinary. If she were so easy to deal with, I wouldn’t have waited until now. However, there have been many new developments in the past two months. This is an interesting discovery.”

    “Clack!”

The Empress placed the chess piece in a dangerous position. “You don’t need to worry about that ancestor. Your current task is to stabilize the town I just bought from the White Jade Alliance. Also, gather all the Empire’s free-roaming high-rank forces and extend an olive branch to any ninth-rank mages we can unite with. A new game is about to begin.”

After saying that, the Empress picked up another chess piece, but this time, she seemed to be pondering something, her hand hovering over the board.

  • As a villain, I just want them to behave 209

Chapter 209: Going With The Flow

Kailun deactivated the special magic protecting his door, entered the room, and locked the door behind him. He walked to the window and looked out.

The night in this small town wasn’t as lively as the Royal City. He only occasionally saw a few pedestrians walking together.

Kailun looked towards the Abyss. At their current pace, they would probably arrive tomorrow evening.

He hadn’t informed the old Dragon King, Bolton, in advance. His sudden arrival would be a surprise.

With any luck, he might even find traces of that unlucky entity.

Kailun sighed softly and leaned against the window. Based on the currently available information, all the key players had appeared.

His next move would likely revolve around that unlucky entity and the woman named Fate.

To be honest, even Kailun wasn’t entirely confident. Although strength was important, it wasn’t everything.

At their level, something beyond the concept of power was needed.

He needed more contact, more information, to make an accurate judgment.

Hearing the sound of running water from the bathroom, Kailun stretched his neck.

He checked Bella’s goodwill rating and found that it had reached 90.

With such high goodwill, he could engage in many intimate activities. Even “devouring” Bella wouldn’t be a problem.

But Kailun felt like something was missing. It wasn’t “delicious” enough yet.

It wasn’t that he didn’t know how to be proactive, but he was overthinking it.

If it were Hilna, he would not only “devour” the princess but also bully her relentlessly.

But he couldn’t bring himself to do that to Bella. He wanted to bully her, but he couldn’t bear to.

Kailun closed the window and turned on the magic lamp, illuminating the dimly lit room. He saw Bella’s discarded clothes on the large bed, her white dress and black underwear piled together.

“This girl has no sense of danger at all. It seems she’s determined to be ‘eaten’ by me.”

Kailun chuckled and gathered Bella’s clothes, placing them in a basket in the corner of the room.

At his level, he didn’t need to constantly cleanse his body. A simple high-rank spell could restore him to a state of perfect purity. Bathing was more for the comfort and relaxation of soaking in hot water.

The girls smelled even better after bathing, especially when they were fresh out of the bath, their bodies enveloped in a hazy mist.

Kailun lay down on the soft bed, gazing at the warm light above. His mind gradually calmed down.

Sometimes, overthinking was just a waste of time. It was better to lie down and go with the flow. He couldn’t bear to keep Bella waiting any longer.

After about ten minutes, he heard soft footsteps. Turning his head, he saw Bella walking out of the bathroom barefoot.

Unexpectedly, she was wearing a black bunny girl outfit. The tight-fitting clothing accentuated her perfect figure, and the black stockings that covered her long legs added a touch of allure. Her damp hair cascaded down her back, giving her an ethereal air, and the floppy bunny ears perched atop her head added a touch of cuteness. Even from several meters away, Kailun could smell a faint floral fragrance, delicate and lingering.

Her crystal-clear dragon horns were visible on her forehead, and her lively tail swayed behind her perky bottom. The outfit featured a cutout around her abdomen, revealing the shimmering dragon scales just below her navel.

The bunny girl outfit wasn’t just revealing around her stomach; it also had two cutouts on her chest, strategically placed to showcase the curves of her “valley.”

Her innocent face, alluring attire, and seductive demeanor created a stark contrast that stimulated his senses.

“I heard from Carol that you might like this kind of outfit. Is that true?” Bella asked, standing on her tiptoes, her face slightly flushed.

It was her first time wearing such an outfit. Although a bit uncomfortable, it was worth it if it helped her achieve her goal.

“To be honest, I just like things that are beautiful.”

Kailun sat up on the bed and looked at Bella intently. “You look very beautiful tonight. I like it a lot.”

He wasn’t lying. Bella’s allure at this moment was unmatched. Even Kailun, who initially hadn’t had many thoughts, was starting to form a plan.

Bella sighed with relief upon hearing his praise. She leaped lightly and landed in front of him.

“Hmph, you passed. So how do you want me to reward you?

Any request, no matter how excessive, how shameless, how lewd, is acceptable. But only for tonight.”

She straddled him, kneeling on the bed with her hands on his shoulders, her confidence restored by his approval.

Her straightforward words were full of temptation. Instead of hinting, Bella chose a direct approach.

Her tail swayed excitedly, and Kailun even heard the whooshing sound as it cut through the air.

    “Really?”

Kailun reached out and touched the fluffy bunny ears on top of Bella’s head. They were soft but lacked warmth.

He wondered if there were any bunny girls in the Abyss. He would have to pay more attention during their trip.

    “Of course~”

Bella leaned closer to Kailun and sniffed contentedly.

Things were progressing much more smoothly than she had expected. She had thought Kailun would continue to decline her advances.

Kailun nudged Bella’s smooth nose with his own. “Then can you let me have a good rest tonight?”

Seeing the playful smile on his lips, Bella knew he was teasing her. She lowered her head and nudged him back with her dragon horn.

“No, make another request. How can you have such a serious request? That’s not like you.”

She simply sat on his lap and proactively placed his hand on her thigh.

    “Mmm~”

Bella moaned softly as he touched her.

This wasn’t her first intimate encounter with Kailun, but she couldn’t understand why it felt so different this time.

“Make another request. Let me think.”

Kailun’s fingers traced the smooth surface of her stockings. Feeling like something was missing, he used his fingertip to tear a hole in the stocking on Bella’s outer thigh.

The contrast between her snow-white skin and the black stocking became even more striking. His fingers could feel the different textures as they glided over her leg.

Bella’s thighs were perfectly plump and firm, yielding slightly to his touch.

Such perfect legs were not only suitable for stockings but also for leg rings. Kailun decided that he would have to “educate” her properly during their seven days together.

If he couldn’t do it himself, he would have Saint Chrissy teach her. She was more skilled in such matters.

“I still want to rest. Why don’t you take the initiative?” Kailun continued to tease Bella while enjoying the feel of her thighs.

Bella hesitated for a moment, then grabbed Kailun’s collar. “…But I don’t know anything. I’ve only read some illustrated books. I have no idea what to do.”

“Then try following the instructions in the books. Self-learning is an essential skill.”

Kailun lay back. “Didn’t you want to continue your lineage? If you don’t have enough initiative and self-learning ability, it will be difficult to succeed. After all, from what I know, dragons are different from humans. Generally, the gestation period for dragons is three years. So you still have a lot to learn.”

Actually, Kailun had wondered if there was reproductive isolation between him and Bella, but based on past experiences, there probably wasn’t.

From the perspective of this world’s origin, different races shared certain similarities, making reproduction possible.

However, under normal circumstances, races that weren’t on the verge of extinction wouldn’t interbreed. Bella was already the last of the Dragon Clan. If something happened to her, the dragons would truly be extinct.

As for the old Dragon King Bolton, he had long lost that possibility.

Kailun suddenly realized that there were quite a few endangered species in his household: Bella, Fox, and the elf sisters.

He was shouldering the burden of continuing at least three races. It was a bit stressful, but manageable.

However, Bella had already taken the initiative to this extent. It wouldn’t be right for him to refuse any longer.

This lovely little dragon girl had long been his “prey,” but this day had come sooner than he expected.

Overthinking and waiting for the perfect opportunity would only lead to failure. It was better to go with the flow.

A beautiful and pure girl was always the most delicious dessert, satisfying to hold in his arms and cherish in his heart.

Kailun pulled a pillow under his head, positioning himself to comfortably gaze at Bella.

He had to admit that she was incredibly beautiful. Her face and figure were both top-notch, especially those dragon horns that always caught his eye.

He couldn’t help but reach out with his other hand to play with her horns. They were cool to the touch, smooth like skin.

For some reason, he imagined himself grabbing those horns and… well, it was a bit lewd, but he could try it.

    “Self-learn? But… okay…”

Bella’s tail nervously wrapped around Kailun’s leg. Now that they were at this point, she was actually nervous.

Although she had some experience with intimacy with Kailun, she had never experienced this level of emotional connection before.

To adjust her mood and state, she didn’t jump straight into it.

“It’s settled then. You can’t refuse my request. Otherwise, I’ll secretly take Fox back to the Abyss and ignore you for a month… no, a week.”

Bella leaned against Kailun, uttering her seemingly effective threat.

She extended her pink tongue and explored Kailun’s mouth, her soft body gently rubbing against him, her nimble hands instinctively reaching under his clothes.

Sometimes, extensive knowledge wasn’t necessary. Simply following instincts could ensure the continuation of life.

Compared to the experienced Anna and Ella, Bella’s clumsy seduction had a unique charm.

Kailun occasionally teased her with a few words, but most of the time, he was calming her down, helping her maintain a good state.

She always looked at him with shy and affectionate eyes, filled with pure love. The little dragon girl was truly heartwarming.

    Chapter 208: Loud Conspiracies

The journey to the Abyss wasn’t particularly long, nor was it particularly short. If they didn’t rush, it would take about two days.

Using teleportation magic was the most efficient method, and Kailun had enough remaining attribute points to sustain two days of travel.

After a friendly negotiation, Kailun had acquired the town named Portland for the high price of 100,000 gold coins.

He didn’t station any troops there after the transaction, only leaving a few less important ministers to oversee the town.

These “less important” ministers were actually those who had made mistakes in the past. Kailun left them behind to redeem themselves.

He required them to report the situation to the Royal City every day in a specific format. Their tasks were not shared, and they were suspicious of each other, thus preventing the possibility of them colluding to betray him.

After all, they didn’t know how many people Kailun had sent, nor did they know if there were any hidden ninth-rank assassins in the town.

After Bruce and the others completed their mission and returned to the Royal City, Kailun withdrew their attribute boosts. This was crucial for his upcoming trip to the Abyss.

He also contacted Helena and the others in Alaye beforehand, asking them to minimize their public appearances for the next few days.

To prevent any accidents, Kailun might withdraw more attribute points.

Due to the contract, the Pope wouldn’t dare to directly harm Helena and the others. Using other methods would require some preparation time.

According to his calculations, he could free up three days.

However, absolute safety was impossible. Everything had risks. He had merely chosen the option with lower risk and higher reward.

Six hours later, Kailun took a break. Using teleportation magic continuously had consumed a lot of his mental energy. He needed a short rest.

Standing on a hill overlooking the forest with Bella, Kailun had a strange feeling.

In his memories, he had rarely left the Xiya Kingdom. He had spent most of his time traveling between the Royal City and his own territory.

In a way, this was his first time traveling far from home.

Even his previous expeditions had only crossed the borders of one or two countries, which wasn’t considered far.

“I didn’t expect your mastery of magic to be so impressive. Even my grandfather can’t travel for such a long time like you.”

Bella held Kailun’s arm, her eyes sparkling with admiration.

Not only was Kailun’s teleportation speed extremely fast, but the effect was also excellent, almost reaching the limit of this magic.

Judging from the amount of mana he output, it was at least twice that of an average ninth-rank mage. In terms of teleportation efficiency, there was even a threefold difference.

If they continued traveling non-stop, they could even reach the Abyss in just twenty hours.

Even Bella had never heard of such speed.

However, traveling too quickly didn’t align with her desires. For her, every day of these seven days was crucial.

So, Bella said softly, “But let’s rest a bit more. It would be dangerous if we run out of mana and encounter people from the Temple of the Celestial God. We can travel slowly. There’s no rush. I checked. If we continue teleporting along this route, we’ll reach a small town tonight. We can rest there for the night and set off again tomorrow morning. Okay~?”

As she spoke, Bella hugged Kailun’s arm tightly, letting him experience her comforting softness.

Kailun looked at Bella. He saw longing in her eyes, her plea evident.

“I can’t say no to you.” Kailun reached out with his other hand and stroked Bella’s crystal-clear dragon horns, leading her towards a smooth rock. “Let’s go. We’ll rest for a while and have lunch.”

It was almost three in the afternoon. Calling it lunch was a bit late.

However, they were both very strong and could easily skip a few meals without any significant impact.

After cleaning the rock and spreading a thin cloth on it, they sat down side by side. Bella took out some packed food and drinks from her small suitcase.

Seeing this, Kailun sighed. “It’s a pity I don’t have enough materials. Otherwise, I could create some spatial equipment.”

He had recently learned some space-related magic. With his current knowledge, he could create spatial equipment.

“There’s no other way. The Temple of the Celestial God controls all the raw materials. No one else can create space-related equipment. Besides, most space-related magic is lost. Those materials aren’t very useful to them.” Bella said as she arranged the food and drinks on the blue cloth.

Kailun took a bite of a soft bread roll. “It feels like the world has lost a lot in the past ten thousand years. There has been no progress in magic research. The only change is the abolition of the battle mage system.”

Bella tore the bread into two thin slices and spread tomato sauce on them. “The battle mage system was too dangerous. Many people in the Abyss used to choose this path. But most of them went mad. When power exceeds the body’s limits, mental breakdown is inevitable. Most of the bad rumors about the Abyss are related to them.”

Bella sighed, recalling the stories she had heard about battle mages.

In the past, the Abyss had many people but few resources. Many were forced to choose this high-risk, high-efficiency, high-burst path.

But not everyone was a genius. Most people had their limits. Blindly increasing the number of magic circles engraved on their bodies would only lead to destruction.

The “demons” of the Abyss mostly referred to those who had lost themselves.

This was only part of the reason. The deeper reason was that, except for the second mine, the magic crystals produced by other mines in the Abyss contained special impurities, which could easily cause mental problems if absorbed excessively.

And this situation had become increasingly severe over time.

Nowadays, no one chose the path of the battle mage anymore. Only two incomplete battle mages remained among the Abyss’s high-ranking individuals, and they were far from being true battle mages.

“If I remember correctly, that guy also chose this path. It seems his talent is indeed quite good.”

Kailun thought of Paul. Paul, who had already reached the ninth rank, hadn’t collapsed due to engraving magic circles. Kailun believed this was related to the quality of the magic circles he had engraved.

If there was a chance, he could scam Paul. After all, it was a 145% attribute boost.

It would be best to have someone help Paul engrave many useless ninth-rank spells. This way, it would not only increase Kailun’s attributes but also limit Paul’s strength.

Kailun felt that he was too kind. He wished there were more high-quality leeks like Paul.

Coincidentally, he would be the acting Pope for a while. He might be able to do some “good deeds.”

“That guy? Is he your friend?” Bella tore off a small piece of her bread and fed it to Kailun.

“No, just a bad guy who’s even worse than me.”

Kailun bit into the bread Bella fed him and gently nibbled on her fingertip with his teeth.

Bella blushed, her eyes sparkling with joy.

    ……

They arrived at the small town at eleven o’clock at night. Kailun decided to take Bella, who had hidden her dragon tail and horns, to try the local barbecue.

The town was located between the Abyss and the Xiya Kingdom. Occasionally, they would see Abyssal races, with werewolves being the most common.

Interestingly, a pair of werewolf brothers happened to be sitting at the table next to them. They seemed quite strong and were loudly discussing something secretive.

One of the werewolves, who looked to be in his thirties, raised his glass. “Brother, as long as we complete the ancestor’s mission, our clan will have hope of revival. I’ll be the clan leader, and you’ll be the deputy leader.”

“You’re right, brother. Ever since the old clan leader died and Bolton came to power, our werewolf clan has been suppressed. Not only have our resources decreased, but our movements have also been restricted.”

The younger werewolf clinked glasses with him, took a large gulp of wine, and burped, releasing a strong smell of alcohol. “But I heard that the ancestor also assigned the mission to others. Do you have any clues?”

The older werewolf tore off a large piece of roasted meat. “How would I know? We can’t fathom the ancestor’s thoughts. He’s an entity from tens of thousands of years ago. He must have an important reason for doing this.”

The younger werewolf: “You’re right. I can’t believe the ancestor entrusted such an important task to us. Once we reach the Xiya Kingdom and find the contact person, we’ll…”

The werewolf didn’t finish his sentence because he had passed out on the table.

The other werewolf, although also drunk, was still conscious. Judging from the pile of empty bottles on the table, they had drunk a lot.

“Is the ancestor they’re talking about the same one?” Bella whispered into Kailun’s ear, leaning close to him.

“I guess so. If we’re lucky, we might even encounter her on this trip back to the Abyss. But are the people in your Abyss so unreliable?”

Kailun glanced at the table next to them. How could that entity entrust such a task to these two werewolves? Or were they just a smokescreen to divert attention?

Kailun leaned towards the latter possibility. Based on the current information, that entity, although seemingly pure, wasn’t stupid.

After all, she had survived for tens of thousands of years. She must have had her merits to survive such a long time.

“No, they’re special. They obviously aren’t very smart. They’re probably just cannon fodder.” Bella rolled her eyes at Kailun.

Kailun chuckled. “Not necessarily. A certain foolish dragon isn’t very smart either. She seems quite gullible.”

“That’s too much! I’m full. I’m going back to the room to rest. I’m not talking to you anymore.” Bella kicked Kailun lightly, grabbed a duck leg, and prepared to return to their room.

But she hesitated after standing up. After a moment of contemplation, she bent down and whispered, “Come find me later. I’m going back to take a bath.”

After saying that, Bella ran back to their room on the second floor. It was worth mentioning that Kailun had only booked one room.

    “Snap!”

But Kailun didn’t intend to wait. He snapped his fingers, and a gold coin and two silver coins appeared in his palm.

Being cautious, Kailun didn’t take the two werewolves’ travel expenses. If they were lucky, he could have them stay and wash dishes for the old lady who owned the inn for a month.

Kailun sensed that the old lady possessed the strength of a sixth-rank mage, much stronger than these two werewolves.

He placed a silver coin on the table and then followed Bella upstairs.

  • As a villain, I just want them to behave 207

Chapter 207: Seven Days in the Abyss

“That’s strange. Could it be that she, like Phils, has a penchant for masochism?”

Kailun scratched his head in confusion after receiving the new feedback.

He had messed up the Temple of the Celestial God to this extent, but she wasn’t angry. Instead, she seemed to find it interesting.

Was she confident of victory, or did she have a strange fetish?

    “What masochism?”

Bella, who was having afternoon tea with Kailun, added several spoonfuls of sugar to her cup.

“Nothing, just a strange person.” Kailun took a sip of tea and dismissed the topic.

“The Pope and the others have successfully reached Alaye. The Empress’s forces have retreated. What are you going to do next?”

It was Chrissy who asked. She had been keeping an eye on the Pope’s movements.

It was a pity that she hadn’t been able to completely change the Pope’s mind last time. She would have to try harder next time.

Kailun: “Naturally, have Helena supervise the construction of the teleportation magic circle. If the progress is fast enough, it should be completed in about a week. Then, we can fully connect Alaye and the Royal City.”

Speaking of the teleportation magic circle, it was mainly being handled by Fox and Isabella. Vivian and Illusion, who were relatively free, were naturally recruited, while Shirley and Hilna were called in to assist.

As for why he didn’t call Carol, it was because she was currently in a critical period of advancement.

Everyone was busy, and Kailun had more free time.

He had read all the scrolls and magic books he could find. There was nothing he could improve on at the moment.

“Can I go to Alaye? I’ve fought against the Temple of the Celestial God for so many years. I want to go there and act arrogantly.”

Bella looked at Kailun with longing.

She hated the Temple of the Celestial God. The hatred in her heart hadn’t faded.

Because of the Temple’s hunting and pursuit over the years, only Bella and Bolton were left of the Dragon Clan.

If it weren’t for the bigger picture, Bella would have already whipped the Pope.

Kailun said half-jokingly, “Of course, you might even make the followers of the Temple bow down to you.”

“That would be great! It would be even better if the Pope joined in.”

Bella wagged her tail excitedly. She couldn’t help but slip her tail under the table, wanting to get closer to Kailun, but it was blocked halfway.

A smooth leg stood between her and Kailun. Bella turned her head to look at Chrissy and stuck her tongue out at her.

Her tail had been discovered as soon as she extended it. It seemed that Chrissy was also an “expert.”

“I’ll try, but I can’t guarantee it. After all, the Pope is an extremely proud person.” Kailun calmly checked the latest magic letters.

Chrissy gave Kailun a suggestive look. “Then break her pride. I believe a fallen Pope will be even more ‘formidable’ than me.”

The fallen Chrissy was a slave to desire. She wondered what a fallen Pope would be like. She was looking forward to it.

“Don’t learn from Chrissy. She’s already broken.”

Kailun used his leg to clamp Chrissy’s foot. She had helped him block Bella’s sneak attack but then tried to steal the “prize” herself.

Not only that, but after being clamped by Kailun, Chrissy didn’t give up. She used her other foot as a pivot and moved her chair closer to him.

“That’s right, I’m broken. But I’m content now. I don’t have to think about those complicated things. Every day is fulfilling. I spend half of the day meditating, and the rest of the time I can read novels, go shopping, and watch performances. At night, I can fall asleep in his arms, exhausted from our ‘activities.’ Isn’t that the best thing ever?”

Chrissy held her teacup in her right hand, looking dignified and holy. But her left hand was under the table, trying to do something.

“I’m not envious at all. Not at all.”

Bella’s eyes were filled with envy. She glanced at Kailun, as if hinting for him to take action sooner.

But Kailun’s attention was mostly on Chrissy. He maintained a serious expression while defending against her advances.

If he let her succeed, she might even dare to do something unspeakable in front of Bella.

Never underestimate Chrissy’s determination. She was much more passionate than the others.

Seeing that Kailun was ignoring her, Bella attacked him with her tail again. But Chrissy wouldn’t allow anyone to steal her “food” and blocked her once more.

Kailun sighed softly. Thankfully, he could increase his constitution. Otherwise, at this rate, he would be drained sooner or later.

Fortunately, the two most powerful women in his household didn’t seem that demanding, even less so than Phils. They were easy to satisfy.

In a way, this was good news.

After failing to make any progress, Bella picked up her teacup with a dejected expression. “Can I go back to the Abyss? I’ve been away for a long time. I want to go back and have a look.”

Bella had a feeling that if she missed this opportunity, she might never be able to return to the Abyss.

She couldn’t explain the origin of this feeling. It was just a strange premonition.

Kailun glared at Chrissy, signaling her to restrain herself, and then asked Bella, “Is something bothering you?”

“No, I just feel like I should go back and have a look. Grandpa said that the Abyss has changed a lot. It’s not the same as it used to be. So I want to go back and see. Maybe I won’t be able to go back in the future.”

Bella retracted her tail, letting it droop on the ground. She looked listless.

“I see. I understand. But it’s too dangerous for you to go back alone. I’ll accompany you. We should have enough time.”

Kailun held up three fingers. “But let’s make it clear first. We can stay there for a maximum of three days.”

Including the travel time, Kailun’s budget was only one week.

He hadn’t made this decision solely for Bella. Part of the reason was that he wanted to see the Abyss for himself. He needed to solve some of the mysteries surrounding it personally.

There might be a chance to find traces of that unlucky entity. If he was lucky, he might even be able to capture her directly.

Of course, the possibility was extremely low. Such an ancient entity must have many trump cards. Normal methods might not be effective.

    “Only three days? That’s okay.”

Bella nodded. She was satisfied with three days.

It was a special time, and she didn’t want to cause Kailun more trouble. She just wanted to be a little “selfish” this time.

“I want to go too! I can do anything! I can even warm your bed and change your clothes!”

Chrissy quickly clung to Kailun’s arm, afraid that he wouldn’t take her.

If she couldn’t see Kailun for seven days straight, she would probably be so bored that she would meditate all day long.

“This trip to the Abyss isn’t just for fun. I’ll take you next time. This time, there are too many people, and I can’t ensure everyone’s safety. Besides, I need you to stay at the manor and help me monitor Rose. She’s been making more and more suspicious moves lately. I’m waiting for the fish to take the bait.”

Kailun stroked Chrissy’s golden hair. Bringing Chrissy along would definitely add more “fun,” but he needed someone to help him at home.

As a Saint carefully cultivated by the Temple, Chrissy was quite capable and could handle most decisions.

“When are you leaving?” Chrissy pouted, looking displeased.

Kailun calculated the time. “Probably tomorrow. The teleportation magic circle should be completed in about a week.”

“Then you have to stay with me tonight. You have to make up for the next week.” Chrissy rubbed against his arm insistently.

Since Kailun’s decision was probably unchangeable, she had to settle for something else to avoid being disliked.

To improve her position, Chrissy wouldn’t worry about temporary gains and losses. If she played her cards right, she might even surpass the Pope in the future. How wonderful!

“No problem. I can fulfill this small request.”

Kailun lifted Chrissy’s chin and kissed her red lips. Perhaps because she had added sugar to her tea, the kiss had a hint of sweetness.

Compared to before, Chrissy had become a bit more “normal.”

Although she was still obsessed with love, she was passionate but not mentally unstable.

Her psychological problems had been partially healed. This was a good development.

Come to think of it, all these problems could be blamed on Kailun. He had deeply hurt Chrissy for his own purposes.

But they were enemies back then, so his actions were understandable. If it weren’t for his determination, he wouldn’t be enjoying this leisure now.

Everything had a price. He would just be nicer to this silly girl in the future.

Seeing this scene, Bella’s eyes were filled with envy again. She felt that she should do something during the next week. She couldn’t waste this hard-earned opportunity.

The afternoon passed quickly. After finishing their tea, they went shopping in the Royal City. Kailun made a list and asked the elf sisters to prepare some necessities for him.

At night, Chrissy, Phils, and other strong women came one after another. Carol and Afra took the lead, Anna and Ella, as veterans, played a stabilizing role, and Hilna and Winnie brought up the rear.

Don’t ask where Vivian and Illusion were. The two little ones had been busy all day and didn’t have the energy to participate, so they were excluded.

Thankfully, Kailun’s large bed could slow down time. Otherwise, there wouldn’t be enough time.

However, the bed was still a bit small, forcing poor Hilna to sleep on the floor.

Kailun said that if he had the chance to catch that unlucky entity, he would definitely have her make a new, bigger bed.

Early the next morning, Kailun, who hadn’t slept all night, took a quick shower and found Bella. Her eyes were filled with excitement. As soon as she saw him, she clung to his arm, wrapping him in her softness.

Thankfully, he had experienced too much softness last night, so he greeted her calmly, “Good morning, Bella. It seems you’re looking forward to our trip.”

“Of course! This time, I’ll show you the customs and scenery of the Abyss. You’ll never forget it.” Bella licked her lips, her tail wagging even more excitedly than Fox’s.

That foolish fox was busy building the magic circle and didn’t have time to play. This was her advantage.

If she couldn’t “conquer” Kailun in these seven days, she would give up being a dragon.

  • As a villain, I just want them to behave 206

Chapter 206: The Skeleton of Fate

From the Empress’s perspective, she was slightly stronger than the Pope, but not to the point of overwhelming dominance.

Her individual advantage couldn’t compensate for the disparity in the number of ninth-rank mages. In this level of battle, those below the eighth rank could hardly play a decisive role.

After some consideration, the Empress began to have second thoughts.

It didn’t matter if she couldn’t take Alaye directly. The magic circles she needed had almost been set up. As long as she could successfully capture the two target towns, her mission would be considered complete.

“Meggie Liran, times have changed. The Temple of the Celestial God needs a unified voice to face the upcoming challenges. I hope you can understand. I’m doing this for the Temple.”

The Empress exchanged glances with her subordinates and shifted the topic.

“You want me to understand you? Then have you ever tried to understand me? Because of your greed, not only has the Temple suffered heavy losses, but we’ve also become a laughingstock. The once powerful Temple of the Celestial God is now divided. Are you satisfied now?”

The Pope’s words were filled with reprimands. She was truly angry.

No matter how she looked at it, the Empress’s actions had no benefits. She couldn’t understand why.

    Empress: “I’m sorry, I can’t tell you.”

If it weren’t for Kailun’s interference, her plan would have been perfect.

Under normal circumstances, she would not only have the authority to lead the Temple of the Celestial God but also control the Abyss and successfully set up the magic circles.

Then, she would coerce and entice the White Jade Alliance, and they would choose to remain neutral or side with the Temple. The remaining Xiya Kingdom would be completely isolated.

After achieving these preconditions, all she had to do was orchestrate a full-scale war and swiftly conquer a large portion of the Xiya Kingdom’s territory, cleverly including Kuye Town.

As for the White Jade Alliance?

They would probably be happy to watch from the sidelines.

But all her plans had been ruined. She had neither won the war at the second mine nor captured Alaye to consolidate her power.

As for why she hadn’t discussed it with the Pope properly?

According to that entity, the Pope, who shouldn’t even exist, carried the mark of a terrifying entity and might become a hindrance. It was better to eliminate her beforehand.

“Stop this. You’re going to destroy the entire Temple of the Celestial God.” The Pope sighed deeply.

The Empress knew more, but she had always refused to tell her.

Disunity and discord. It seemed that the Temple was truly falling apart.

The Empress glanced at her subordinates, who were gathering around her, and said casually, “Who knows?”

“If our predecessors knew what you’ve done, they would be very disappointed.” The Pope symbolically ordered her people to surround the Empress and her group.

She had no intention of fighting to the death. She didn’t want to see both sides suffer further losses.

Unexpectedly, the Empress chuckled upon hearing the Pope’s words. “Have you ever wondered where your predecessors have gone? It’s been ten years since the last change of leadership. Have you received any news from them in these ten years? Have you tried to find out? Have you been curious?”

The Empress’s series of questions made the Pope instinctively take a step back. Her mocking gaze pierced deep into her heart.

“Didn’t they all go into slumber to become the foundation of the Temple of the Celestial God?” The Pope’s carefully crafted neutral voice wavered.

She hadn’t really investigated this matter, as if it had been deliberately forgotten.

No one mentioned it, no one asked about it. Everything had proceeded smoothly.

The old retired, the new took over. This was how it had been for tens of thousands of years.

“Confused now? Figure out this question first, then come ask me why, naive Pope.”

After saying that, the Empress activated a short-range teleportation spell.

Seeing the white light appear, Paul, who was standing nearby, couldn’t help but ask, “Aren’t you going to stop them, Your Holiness?”

The Pope said coldly, “Of course we have to stop them. You go.”

“Uh… never mind.” Paul retreated hastily.

He just wanted to show off a little, so Harry could receive better treatment. As for actually charging into battle, that was impossible.

Because of the Pope’s words, they could only watch as the Empress and her group left. Most of them secretly sighed in relief.

Everyone was afraid of death. A battle between ninth-rank mages was often a matter of life and death.

At this level, everyone had their own trump cards. It was normal for them to instantly kill each other if they weren’t careful.

“Charles, do you know where our predecessors have gone?”

After a moment, the Pope looked at the empty space and asked Charles.

“Your Holiness, according to the Temple’s records, our predecessors sealed themselves in ice. They are our ultimate weapon in times of crisis.”

Charles answered based on his memories.

Pope: “Hmm, exactly as I know it.”

After the Empress’s reminder, she suddenly realized a blind spot. The previous generation hadn’t taught her the ninth-rank ice sealing magic.

So how would she seal herself when she passed the position to the next Pope in the future?

“Let’s go back to Alaye. I want to see if our predecessors are still there.”

Leaving behind those troubled words, the Pope used teleportation magic to return to the city.

Helena, Roden, and the others exchanged glances. They had to find time to complete their mission.

First, they had to secretly bring in the two thousand miners as insiders. Then, they had to urge the Pope to build the magic circle to receive Kailun.

They followed the Pope into Alaye and dispersed.

“Master Charles, can Harry be treated now?”

Seeing that Charles was also about to leave, Paul ran up to him and grabbed his wrist.

    “Let go of my hand.”

Charles shook his hand with disgust. “Take Harry back to the city. I’ll make the necessary arrangements. But let me tell you this first, Harry has been on the verge of death for several days. It’ll probably take ten days to half a month for him to fully recover. So you better behave yourself during this period. If his treatment is interrupted, Harry might not get a second chance.”

Charles, who disliked Paul, naturally had no patience for him. He had long wanted to teach him a lesson but hadn’t found the opportunity.

“I understand. I’ll bring Harry back right away.” Paul forced a smile.

After watching Charles and the others enter Alaye, Paul ran back the way he had come. He had to bring Harry back.

He had anticipated a battle, so he had left Harry in a hidden location two hundred miles away before setting off.

Life was too hard for Paul. After reaching the ninth rank by consuming the previous Holy Sons, he had dreamed of soaring to greater heights. But before he could even start singing, he was betrayed by Koya.

Now, he had become a pawn of the Temple of the Celestial God, not even daring to utter a word of defiance.

It was truly terrible. He suddenly wished for the world to be destroyed, so all his enemies would disappear.

About an hour later, Paul returned to Alaye, carrying Harry on his back.

After taking Harry for treatment, Charles gave Paul a new task: to help set up a special teleportation magic circle.

Paul heard that it was to receive a noble entity. He didn’t understand and didn’t dare to ask.

He just had a bad feeling. That noble entity probably wasn’t a good person.

But could anyone in this world be more evil than Kailun?

So it didn’t matter who was coming. He didn’t care.

Paul planned to run away with Harry in half a month. He would lie low for a while and wait for the Temple of the Celestial God and Kailun to fight each other.

“Soon, the good days will come.”

Paul carefully examined the blueprints for the simple magic circle. Since the final inspection would be done by the Pope herself, he didn’t dare to cheat and could only work diligently.

Meanwhile, the Pope had gone to the deepest part of Alaye’s underground and found the hiding place of the previous Popes.

After much effort, she opened the secret chamber, only to find it empty.

    ……

“What did you say? Kailun bought the town I wanted?”

“How could that idiot from the White Jade Alliance let this happen? Does he want me to send troops directly?”

The Empress, having just returned to her residence, received bad news. The town she had been eyeing had been bought by Kailun for the high price of 100,000 gold coins.

Only she and the two leaders of the White Jade Alliance knew about the deal. Whoever had betrayed her had caused irreparable damage.

Judging from the current situation, it was most likely Wilson, the vice president of the White Jade Alliance, who had betrayed her.

What was even more infuriating was that she couldn’t directly confront the White Jade Alliance. After all, they still controlled the other town.

Now she had to find a way to get the town back. It was all so troublesome.

Misfortunes never came singly. Not only had she failed to capture Alaye, but the town she had been eyeing was also gone. The difficulty of completing her mission had increased exponentially.

The Empress’s mind was in turmoil. She wanted to rush to Kailun and kill him.

Could he not live without causing trouble?

She carefully calculated her forces. It was still a bit difficult to launch a full-scale war. Kailun’s strength was unknown, so she had to overestimate it.

The losses at the second mine were too heavy for her. Not only had she lost the opportunity to conquer the Abyss, but she had also lost several ninth-rank mages. Thousands of years of accumulation had been destroyed.

Half an hour later, the Empress managed to suppress her anger. After bathing and changing, she went to the deepest secret chamber beneath the Imperial Palace.

This was the foundation of the Empire’s fate divination device, as well as the place where that entity had left her legacy.

A giant clock face stood alone in the center of the chamber, like a pocket watch magnified a hundred times, like an ancient altar.

She took off her shoes and, tiptoeing on her delicate feet, walked to the center of the clock face.

The Empress used her toes to adjust the slender hour hand, setting the time to twelve o’clock sharp.

After doing all this, she crossed her legs and sat in mid-air above the giant clock face. Then she closed her eyes, counting the time silently, her mind gradually calming down.

After an unknown amount of time, when the Empress opened her eyes again, her pupils had completely changed color.

    Chapter 205: A Brief Respite

“Are you serious?” Wilson couldn’t help but ask.

“There’s nothing to hesitate about. I can bear the consequences. The question is, are you willing to gamble with me, Mr. Wilson?”

Kailun set down his teacup. “If you trust me, I can lend you two ninth-rank vice presidents to ensure the acquisition goes smoothly.”

    Wilson: “When?”

“No time like the present. Tonight. Judging by the timing, it should be completed by tomorrow afternoon. Afterward, you can visit the Xiya Royal City as a guest. I can guarantee your safety.”

Time was tight, and the sooner they acted, the better.

Although Kailun’s attributes were extremely high now, he couldn’t be in two places at once.

    Wilson: “…”

As expected, he couldn’t keep up with Kailun’s pace. Not only had he boarded a pirate ship, but he was also being dragged into a mission. Kailun wasn’t subtle at all.

Well, he would consider it a pledge of allegiance.

They discussed the details for a while longer.

At midnight, Wilson left the teahouse, accompanied by Bruce and another seventh-rank mage.

With Kailun’s help, they had all reached the ninth rank and were temporarily appointed as vice presidents of the Balance Chamber of Commerce.

“I still have too few people I can use. Shirley, step up your game! How can I entrust you with the task of conquering the world if you keep slacking off? The ones fighting on the front lines now are all old men who haven’t retired yet. Wouldn’t it be a laughingstock if word got out?”

After finishing his umpteenth cup of tea, Kailun stood up and went to the window, watching Wilson and his companions leave.

    “Oh.”

Shirley yawned. She had learned some new things from witnessing the negotiation, but not much.

“Forget it. It’s so late. Everyone’s probably asleep. Let’s just stay out tonight.”

Kailun checked his remaining attribute points and abandoned the idea of going home to rest.

He wasn’t even Afra’s match now, let alone in a wheel war.

Afra always wanted to get even, but Kailun wouldn’t give her another chance.

Shirley couldn’t understand Kailun’s thoughts, but she obediently booked a room for him next door.

Just as she finished making the bed and was about to leave, Kailun stopped her. “Don’t go yet. Give me a back massage. I’ll teach you some useful knowledge.”

    “Useful positions?”

Hearing Kailun’s words, Shirley instinctively thought he wanted to “eat” her. After all, he had even mentioned “positions.”

Kailun, lying on the pillow, turned to look at Shirley. “You seem to have misunderstood something. Don’t worry, it’s illegal to turn a knight into an idiot. I don’t have such vulgar thoughts. It’s just a normal back massage. Come on.”

Even though it was past midnight, Kailun wasn’t sleepy at all. Helplessly, he decided to continue teaching Shirley.

If she still had the same attitude next time they met, he would have to shift his focus to Eve and the others.

The problem was that Eve and the others spent most of their time being trained by Afra. They didn’t have much free time, and their combat power and experience were also inferior to Shirley’s.

“I’m just a salty fish. Please let me go.”

Shirley pouted, took off her shoes, climbed onto the bed, and sat on Kailun’s waist.

The heat from below made her uncomfortable. She endured it and started massaging his shoulders and back.

“Lighter. Are you trying to crush me with that much force?”

Kailun muttered, feeling Shirley’s strength. He couldn’t handle too much force in his current state.

Shirley: “You’re always pretending to be weak. With my strength, I probably can’t even break your skin.”

Despite her words, Shirley reduced her strength.

She didn’t hate Kailun. In fact, she felt quite indifferent towards him now.

She couldn’t say she liked him, either. He always bullied her and the Princess.

But under his leadership, the Xiya Kingdom was developing in a positive direction. This was an undeniable fact.

If it were the Princess, the kingdom might still be in turmoil.

Without a new goal, Shirley just wanted to live a carefree life.

“How long will all of this last?” After much thought, Shirley finally asked her question.

Kailun closed his eyes, enjoying Shirley’s massage. “What are you referring to?”

Shirley: “All these conflicts, with the Temple of the Celestial God, the Abyss, and everything else.”

“You’re asking about that? I thought you wouldn’t care about these things. According to my estimate, about a month or two. That’s a conservative estimate. If there are unforeseen circumstances, I don’t know.”

    Kailun sighed softly.

He felt a bit pressured. After all, the Temple of the Celestial God’s foundation wasn’t comparable to that of a small force.

He wanted to know what had happened tens of thousands of years ago, and what had happened after his death.

Based on the currently available information, everything had ended not long after his death.

So was this a new beginning?

Or a continuation of the past in a different form?

Too many questions plagued him. These were variables that could affect the outcome.

To increase Shirley’s sense of urgency, he chuckled and said, “Don’t think about these useless things. Enjoy every day. If I fail in two months, the world might be destroyed, and neither you nor I might have a second chance. So, for the sake of protecting the Princess you care about, work hard.”

This time, Shirley didn’t refute his words. If they really only had two months left, it would be a tragedy.

Not knowing how to answer, Shirley chose to remain silent. Only her increasingly fast punches indicated her inner turmoil.

Seeing that the effect was good, Kailun changed the subject. “First, let me explain the current situation…”

Since it was a teaching session, he had to offer some valuable information. Kailun, temporarily only at the first rank, didn’t want to engage in a “knightly battle.”

The long night passed as Kailun’s voice continued, finally stopping at three in the morning.

Shirley covered Kailun with a blanket and went to the table, lying on it as she re-examined herself.

    ……

At six in the morning, Shirley helped Kailun get out of bed and wash up.

After a simple breakfast, they strolled around the Royal City, returning to the manor at nine o’clock.

By this time, Phils and Ella had gone to work, Afra was probably training Eve and the others, and Carol was frantically absorbing magic crystals.

But even with all his calculations, he still ran into Illusion and Vivian. Upon seeing him return, they immediately clung to him.

Especially after noticing his low energy level, their eyes gleamed with excitement.

Shirley chuckled and pushed Kailun towards Vivian. “I’ll definitely review the knowledge you taught me last night and strive to be a useful person. See you next time, Lord Kailun.”

Kailun’s expression remained unchanged. “I hope I can teach you more ‘positions’ next time we meet.”

He wasn’t angry at Shirley for setting him up. He would just bully her back later.

People who were willing to resist brought him more enjoyment, as long as they didn’t cross his bottom line.

    “I’ll be all ears.”

Shirley bowed to Kailun and walked out of the manor. She planned to talk to Hilna.

As soon as Shirley left, Vivian wrapped her arms around Kailun’s arm. “Illusion and I learned a new spell recently. Do you want to see it? It’s the kind of magic that can make things bigger or smaller.”

As soon as Vivian finished speaking, Illusion clung to his other arm. “I learned it too. Want to see?”

“Sure, but I’m a bit busy right now. How about tomorrow?” Kailun shrugged, his arms full.

Vivian said with regret, “Didn’t you say you were free these days? You even went out last night to teach Shirley new ‘positions.’”

Illusion added, “Anyway, let’s just enjoy ourselves. Who knows what will happen in the future?”

“I’m waiting until tomorrow because Dean Edlin will be back then. It’ll be more fun with four people.”

Kailun made up an excuse. He couldn’t agree to their “playful request” now, no matter what.

    “What if I insist?”

It was Illusion who spoke, her eyes filled with a dangerous glint.

In Illusion’s mind, she always felt that she could disappear at any moment.

“Carpe diem” was her motto. Nothing was more important than the present moment.

“Then I’ll have to call Carol.” Kailun chuckled.

He had discovered that Carol had a strong deterrent effect on everyone except Afra. The little ones at home were all a bit afraid of her.

“Damn it! You know I’m scared of Carol. Can’t I just ‘rub’ against you a little?” Illusion lightly stepped on Kailun’s foot.

She couldn’t forget Carol’s terrifying aura. That woman was a legendary witch. She felt that Kailun’s ability to win over Carol was a miracle.

“No. So go and study.” Kailun smiled and pulled his arms free from their grasp.

“Just you wait. I’ll climb into your bed tonight.”

Vivian glared at Kailun and ran towards the library. “Remember to save me a spot.”

“Me too.” Illusion added as she also headed towards the library.

“These two are too free.” Kailun sighed, rubbing his slightly numb arms.

There was no suitable work for them at the moment, so they could only serve as “flower vases.”

But it was truly satisfying to see them again. He only hoped that these peaceful days could last longer.

Maybe one day he could also enjoy a life of fishing during the day, playing ball at night, and having seven days off a week.

    ……

However, peace was just a rare occurrence. Early the next morning, the Pope and her group successfully met up with Charles and Paul.

They were now only two hundred miles away from Alaye. Once the time was right, they would launch a joint attack with the people inside the city.

With attacks from both inside and outside, they had a high chance of repelling the Empress’s forces.

Paul had asked the Pope how to save Harry. The answer he received was “after we return.”

At noon sharp, the group, standing on a short-range teleportation magic circle, vanished in a flash of white light.

When they reappeared, they were outside Alaye.

“Meggie Liran! You dare to return?!”

Sensing the magic fluctuations, the Empress immediately rushed out of the camp, leading her forces to surround the landing point of the teleportation circle.

But after the white light faded, her expression darkened. The Pope’s forces were far stronger than she had imagined.

“Long time no see. I didn’t expect you to welcome me so warmly. Should I say, as expected of you? Even after losing so many ninth-rank mages, you can still besiege my Alaye. You’re hiding quite deeply.”

The Pope, enveloped in white light, stepped out of the magic circle. Her neutral voice reached every corner of the battlefield.

As her voice fell, Helena and the others behind her released their ninth-rank auras.

At the same time, the Pope’s subordinates on the city walls were ready to provide support.

    Empress: “…”

Now, it wasn’t just a matter of the siege failing. She was at a disadvantage. The tide had turned in the Pope’s favor.

She desperately wanted to know who had supported the Pope.

  • As a villain, I just want them to behave 204

Chapter 204: Uneven Loot and Boarding a Pirate Ship

“Whether I’ll even be alive in a hundred years is a question. It’s hard for me to believe you right now.”

Rose lay on the bed, spreading her arms. She suddenly felt exhausted. After all her efforts, she had gained nothing.

Both her kingdom and herself had become stepping stones for Kailun. Not only had she been used, but she couldn’t even see a glimmer of hope for escape.

“I showed you the lost Time Magic before. That kind of thing can’t be faked. If it’s developed to its full potential, it can even reverse the flow of time. How about it? Impressive, right?”

Ottovia boasted about her abilities, even though she couldn’t achieve them herself.

Rose hugged a pillow and held it between her legs. “Since you’re so powerful, can you turn back time, back to two months ago? That way, none of this would have happened, and even Kailun wouldn’t have grown so strong.”

“Of course, of course. But only if you collect enough ingredients for me.” Ottovia answered immediately.

She was lying. Not only did she not have enough power now, but even if she did, she couldn’t do it.

Short-range, localized time reversal wasn’t a big problem. The limit of normal Time Magic was ten seconds. She was special enough to reach one minute, and the area could cover more than ten kingdoms.

But that was her limit. Reversing the entire world back to two months ago was simply impossible. No one could do it.

This was a limitation of the world’s rules, an unbreakable bottom line.

Long-term time reversal was impossible. No one could change what had already happened. Her ability to reverse time for one minute was already a “deception” of the world.

Time was like a woven thread. Only a small section at the end could be modified. For Ottovia, this small section was one minute.

But going back to the past and changing history would turn the original thread into a tangled mess. The inertia of time would erase everything.

In Ottovia’s view, long-term time reversal was impossible. The underlying rules of the world didn’t support it.

This view had been proven tens of thousands of years ago. Ottovia firmly believed in it.

Something felt wrong, but she couldn’t remember what it was. Her intuition told her that something important had changed.

“As a big shot from tens of thousands of years ago, don’t you have your own trump cards and forces?” Rose asked again.

Ottovia: “Of course, of course. But you’d better not ask too much about my affairs. Sometimes, knowing too much isn’t a good thing.”

    “Tsk!”

Rose clicked her tongue in displeasure. “You people are all the same, so annoying. As we agreed, teach me the special magic that can help me escape, and I’ll have my hidden soldiers collect the ingredients for you. To strengthen our trust, shouldn’t you show me something?”

Ottovia: “This is so annoying. Didn’t I teach you a short-range random teleportation spell last night?”

She hated teaching others. These simple spells were child’s play to her, just a little more difficult than basic arithmetic.

Why were these humans so stupid? Battle mages were truly the superior civilization, but that power system had disappeared.

“Please, that was an eighth-rank spell you taught me last night. Even if I learned it, I wouldn’t be able to use it.”

Rose waved another pillow in frustration.

Ottovia: “That only proves that you need to collect the ingredients and create the Lucky Potion. That’s the only way you can escape. If you don’t want to be gagged by that human vermin again, then focus on collecting the ingredients and completing our cooperation.”

    Rose: “…”

This entity was pure yet quick to recover, seemingly foolish yet quick-witted.

Contradictory and strange, Rose couldn’t form a clear image of Ottovia in her mind.

She sighed and covered her ears with the pillow. She decided to get some sleep. She would deal with tomorrow’s problems tomorrow. She was tired.

As for learning to dance, she might as well forget about it. At this point, she was ready to face Kailun’s punishment.

She didn’t care about her kingdom anymore. He could have her body. As long as she could escape, it was all worth it.

If that didn’t work, she could just sell out the entity hiding inside her, calling it “luring the enemy deep.”

    ……

At 10:00 PM, Kailun helped the limp Fox back to her room.

After Rose left, nothing untoward had happened between them. They had just enjoyed some wine together.

But Fox’s alcohol tolerance was truly low. She got drunk after a few glasses.

However, this was partly Kailun’s fault. His method of serving wine was a bit unique, and most people couldn’t handle it.

He helped the dizzy Fox onto the bed and covered her with a blanket.

Seeing her sleeping soundly, Kailun pinched her ear and left the room.

Ten minutes later, Kailun brought Shirley, the knight, to a teahouse in the Royal City.

Although it was already dark, the streets were bustling with various magic lamps.

The Royal City had become a prosperous and lively place. Even at two or three in the morning, there were people strolling on the streets or having late-night snacks with friends.

Tonight, he had to meet a very special guest. He brought Shirley along to broaden her horizons.

Shirley now had some potential for development, and Kailun wanted to give it a try.

“I’m curious who you’re waiting for. It’s rare for you to personally meet someone this late at night. Is it a beautiful princess from another country?”

Shirley’s first thought was of a beautiful girl, because that was what Kailun usually paid the most attention to.

Kailun shook his head. “I can be serious sometimes. The person I’m meeting tonight is from the White Jade Alliance.”

    Shirley: “A woman?”

Kailun raised an eyebrow. “A man. Alive. Ninth rank.”

    “Oh, that’s boring.”

Shirley sighed. She had thought she would see Kailun playing with a girl, but nothing happened.

It was boring. She might as well go back to sleep.

“Have you gone mad? It’s only been a few days, and you’re already learning to slack off from Hilna? That’s not a good sign. Young people should work hard and strive to prove their worth.”

Kailun finished half a cup of green tea. Shirley’s change was unexpected.

He should have brought Eve, the young knight, instead. At least she was more obedient and cute.

“No, working hard hasn’t brought me any extra benefits. Now that the Princess has achieved her goal, I only need to do my job. If you want me to apologize, I can show you my belly.”

Shirley refused to back down. She believed that Kailun wouldn’t make things difficult for her.

After all, she had limited value, far less useful than Hilna and the others.

Kailun rubbed his temples. “Who said I wanted to see your belly? And would just your belly be enough to satisfy me? You underestimate my appetite. You should think more about Hilna. If you had enough power, wouldn’t it be easy to protect her?”

He could sense that Shirley’s way of thinking was undergoing a major change, so he didn’t intend to use forceful methods.

“The Princess is no longer the Princess she used to be. In your kingdom, no one can harm her except you. As for extra work, please allow me to decline. I can show you my breasts instead.”

Shirley retorted expressionlessly. Her mind was filled with thoughts that she hadn’t yet sorted out.

She realized that she couldn’t think the way Kailun did. Otherwise, she would become his puppet.

She also realized that her past self was foolish. She needed to change.

Kailun glanced at Shirley’s breasts and finished the rest of his green tea. “They’re not as big as Rose’s. I’m not interested.”

    Shirley: “… You’re so realistic.”

“Of course. Pour me some more tea. We’ll wait a little longer.”

Kailun gestured for Shirley to refill his cup. The vice president of the White Jade Alliance was already a few minutes late.

After about ten more minutes, someone knocked on the door, three long knocks and two short ones.

Kailun put down his third cup of tea. “Come in.”

As his voice fell, a masked person cautiously opened the door and entered the room. Upon seeing Kailun, he couldn’t help but sigh in relief.

“Greetings, Lord Kailun. I’ve heard much about your illustrious deeds. I didn’t expect you to be younger and more powerful than the rumors suggest. My name is Wilson, vice president of the White Jade Alliance. I’m here to discuss an important matter with you.”

Although Wilson had heard that Kailun was very young, he was still surprised to see him in person.

Judging from his appearance, Kailun was not even twenty years old. Yet, this young man had not only repelled the Temple of the Celestial God’s attacks several times but had also stirred up chaos in the world.

Because of some of Kailun’s decisions, the entire world had undergone earth-shattering changes. No one could stay out of it.

As a ninth-rank mage, he carefully sensed Kailun’s strength. Hmm, the strength he displayed was only at the first rank. It was obviously fake.

Since he couldn’t see through Kailun’s true strength, it meant that he was far stronger than himself. That made sense.

“Have a seat. Let’s talk slowly. I’m curious why you didn’t contact me through a communication device but came here personally. Aren’t you afraid that the White Jade Alliance will suspect you?”

Kailun pointed to the seat opposite him.

Wilson sat down and held the warm teacup in his hands. “I was worried about that, so I made ample preparations before leaving. They won’t suspect me anytime soon. I chose to come to the Xiya Kingdom because I wanted to show my sincerity. This would be beneficial for our future cooperation.”

Traveling alone to the Xiya Kingdom was risky, but Wilson chose to take the gamble.

He wasn’t optimistic about the disorganized White Jade Alliance. The current short-sighted leader had even targeted him recently, seemingly worried that he would take away more power and benefits.

The already fragmented alliance was further divided into factions, unable to reach a consensus.

Instead of wasting time in the alliance, it was better to place his bets on Kailun.

As for why he didn’t choose the Temple of the Celestial God?

First, the forces he belonged to had an irreconcilable conflict with the Temple. Second, he wasn’t optimistic about the Temple’s future.

The Temple had suffered heavy losses on the main battlefield two days ago. He couldn’t help but suspect that Kailun was behind it.

When everyone else suffered losses, the one who remained unscathed was the biggest winner.

The times had changed. A formidable figure named Kailun had emerged. He felt that he should seize this opportunity.

“A wise decision. Tell me what you know. I’ll offer you a satisfactory reward based on the importance of the information.”

Kailun looked into Wilson’s eyes. Not many people possessed such awareness.

The current situation in the world was unclear. Making such a judgment required immense courage.

“The Empress of the Temple of the Celestial God demanded two towns from the White Jade Alliance. Only the current leader and I know about this. She demanded strict secrecy and offered resources enough to train six eighth-rank mages in return. I investigated those two towns. They don’t seem to have anything special, and their geographical locations aren’t advantageous either.” Wilson explained slowly.

Something unusual must be happening for the Empress to personally negotiate and offer such a huge reward. There had to be a hidden motive.

But on the other hand, if an ordinary cardinal had offered a normal reward for the towns, the White Jade Alliance wouldn’t have agreed under normal circumstances.

Kailun smiled. “She’s quite generous. Did your leader agree?”

Wilson instinctively reached for his teacup, but he stopped before it reached his lips. He glanced at Kailun and then took a sip with his eyes closed. “The leader didn’t agree directly. He increased the demand and said he wanted resources enough to train two ninth-rank mages.”

Speaking of this, Wilson became even more annoyed. He had thought that after making such a bold demand, the leader would share with him resources enough to train a ninth-rank mage. But that stingy bastard only offered him resources enough to train two eighth-rank mages.

Shamelessly, he claimed it was for the future of the alliance and a fair distribution. What a joke! That stingy bastard just wanted to keep everything for himself.

Of course, Wilson wouldn’t tell Kailun about this. Otherwise, wouldn’t it seem like he was complaining about an uneven distribution of loot?

Kailun’s eyes flickered slightly. “Did the Empress agree?”

“She hesitated for a while and said she was willing to pay resources enough to train one ninth-rank mage first, and the rest in two months. They reached a preliminary agreement.”

Wilson took another sip of tea.

“I think I understand. If the information is confirmed, I’ll give you a satisfactory reward. Don’t worry about that.”

Kailun beckoned to Shirley behind him. “Go back and get me a large map. I need it.”

Wilson quickly took out a thick map from his pocket and spread it out on the table. “If you want to see the location of the towns, I have a map here. I’ve already marked them.”

Kailun nodded with satisfaction, seeing that Wilson was so proactive. Although his motives weren’t pure, his actions weren’t problematic. They could cooperate for the time being.

He had earned extra points for coming in person and actively drinking tea. He had shown enough sincerity.

Kailun didn’t completely believe Wilson. He pondered as he looked at the two circled towns on the map.

They did seem very ordinary, so small that only their names were marked on the map. They were located far apart, with no apparent connection.

What use did the Empress have for these small towns? To station troops?

But the White Jade Alliance could easily surround these two towns. It would be like trapping turtles in a jar.

Kailun frowned. He couldn’t understand the Empress’s intentions.

It didn’t matter if he couldn’t understand for now. He just had to obstruct her.

Kailun pointed to a town closer to the Xiya Kingdom. “This town is good. I’ll suggest that the Balance Chamber of Commerce buy it.”

Wilson was stunned. “Are you planning to spend a huge sum to buy this town?”

Kailun shook his head with a smile. “No, just a few gold coins will suffice.”

“But the leader will definitely not agree. The Empress’s offer was too high.” Wilson was confused. He couldn’t keep up with Kailun’s train of thought.

Kailun drew a circle on the map with his finger. “Since when did buying and selling territories require the approval of the leader of the White Jade Alliance? I’ll just contact the king of that town.”

If a kingdom didn’t have any powerful forces within its borders, then the king had full ownership of the territory. This was the case with the town Kailun had pointed to.

Although the king of this town had joined the White Jade Alliance, it didn’t matter.

Kailun’s plan was to bypass the White Jade Alliance and buy the town directly from the king while he was unaware. Once the agreement was signed, he would be on the moral high ground.

He might not be a moral person, but as long as he was on the moral high ground, all his actions would be considered moral.

He would offer 100,000 gold coins, and if that wasn’t enough, he would offer 1,000,000 gold coins. If that still wasn’t enough, he would send a ninth-rank assassin to “negotiate” amicably.

This town was very close to the Xiya Kingdom. A ninth-rank mage could reach it in about a day.

“I think I understand. As long as you’re fast enough, you can buy the town and send people to occupy it. But this is tantamount to directly offending the White Jade Alliance. Is it really worth it?”

Wilson’s eyes gleamed. This simple and brutal method was very effective, but it also had its drawbacks.

The Xiya Kingdom already had an irreconcilable conflict with the Temple of the Celestial God. It was normal for them to create obstacles for the Temple. But offending the White Jade Alliance for this required careful consideration.

Kailun waved his hand dismissively. “It doesn’t matter. If they want it, they can buy it from the Balance Chamber of Commerce. As long as the price is right, I’ll definitely sell it. But the timing of the sale will be decided by me. It might take a month or two. If the White Jade Alliance isn’t willing to resolve this peacefully, then the vice presidents of the Balance Chamber of Commerce definitely won’t stand idly by.”

The biggest problem with this town was that it wasn’t adjacent to the Xiya Kingdom or its surrounding kingdoms. It was located deep within another country’s territory, making it difficult to manage and defend.

Therefore, Kailun planned to hold a public auction after buying it. He didn’t intend to occupy it himself, nor would he allow anyone else to occupy it.

If the Empress sent her people to garrison the town, Kailun would organize an expedition, a one or two-day expedition.

He would hit and run, never staying for long.

It would take the Temple of the Celestial God several days to send troops to the town, and their mobilization time would be at least three or four times longer than Kailun’s. If the Empress truly had the courage to keep sending reinforcements, then he could help the Pope “steal her base” while she was busy elsewhere.

Sacrifice one town to take down the entire Temple of the Celestial God.

No matter how he calculated it, he wouldn’t lose. If it really dragged on for a month or two, his advantage would only increase.

Afra was constantly adapting to her daily increase in power. Carol’s magic power was growing exponentially, and it wouldn’t be long before she recovered to her peak. It seemed that everything hinged on the next month or so.

Kailun counted his trump cards and guessed his opponents’ trump cards. Everything was becoming more and more interesting.

‘Have I boarded a pirate ship?’

Wilson shivered, seeing the smile on Kailun’s lips.

What kind of madman dared to directly confront both the Temple of the Celestial God and the White Jade Alliance? Even if they were disorganized, their combined forces could easily overwhelm the Xiya Kingdom.

Was it too late to run away now?

  • As a villain, I just want them to behave 203

Chapter 203: Bitter Wine and a Broken Heart

“Compared to last time, you’ve improved a lot. That’s commendable. The only problem is that you didn’t hide your killing intent well.”

Kailun savored the aftertaste of the wine with satisfaction.

The wine looked excellent, large and white, soft yet firm with a chewy texture, leaving a lingering fragrance on his tongue.

It was a blend of boldness and frivolity, frivolity infused with spice, and spice full of sensuality.

Whether he tasted it with his tongue or nibbled on the “vessel” with his teeth, the feedback was satisfying, leaving him wanting more, yearning to indulge in a drunken stupor.

Rose, lost in a daze, stopped her actions upon hearing Kailun’s words. The wine glass had been completely overturned, the last drop of wine trickling down her collarbone and landing on Kailun’s lips.

“If you think I’m being too blunt, then shut me up. Like you did just now.”

Kailun, leaning back against the smooth stone, opened his eyes. The sight before him almost obscured his entire vision.

He decided that Rose belonged to the top tier, capable of rivaling Dean Edlin and perhaps even Ella in terms of size. She was a rare treasure.

At over twenty years old, she possessed a more mature and voluptuous figure, exuding a charm different from that of young girls.

Especially the resentment in her eyes, which was the most exquisite embellishment. Her angry expression made Kailun want to bully her even more.

If Kailun had a character flaw, it was probably this mischievousness.

“Since you want to die so badly, then die!”

Kailun’s words became the final straw, enraging Rose. In a fit of anger, she wrapped her long legs around his neck, attempting to strangle him.

Not only that, but she also pressed her lower abdomen against his face, trying to suffocate him.

From another perspective, Rose was straddling Kailun’s shoulders.

Her fierce reaction exceeded Kailun’s expectations. In a split second, they both tumbled into the hot spring pool, rolling together.

With her current constitution, Rose could hold her breath underwater for a long time. Even if she couldn’t suffocate Kailun with her abdomen, she could drown him.

It was a good plan, but useless.

The moment Rose’s legs wrapped around his neck, Kailun subtly increased his attributes, roughly matching Rose’s level.

This way, he wouldn’t be injured by Rose and could still enjoy their “playful fight.” Why not?

Even Kailun occasionally employed different methods of relaxation. If it were Hilna, she probably wouldn’t even have the courage to resist him.

Rose was commendable for her courage. He would reward her with a stay in the dungeon later.

But that was after he finished “fishing.” For now, he would indulge her.

During their intense struggle, their towels floated to the surface. As Rose tightened her grip, his nose came into contact with a more sensitive area, sinking deeper than her navel.

Kailun’s facial muscles twitched. Just as he was about to deliver a decisive blow to Rose, he heard new footsteps approaching.

Reacting swiftly, Kailun instantly raised his attributes to the ninth rank and subdued Rose, pinning her beneath him.

To restrain her, he wrapped his legs around her waist, forcing her to lie on his abdomen, and then used a towel to cover himself.

But Rose wouldn’t give up so easily. Fueled by anger, she refused to yield. Even if only her mouth could move, she would bite Kailun.

However, Kailun didn’t indulge her at all. He forcefully covered her mouth, rendering her powerless. No matter how much force she used, she couldn’t bite him.

At this point, to avoid choking on the hot water, the defeated Rose could only angrily suck on his hand. If she let go, the hot water might seep into her mouth.

But wasn’t this current position only making Kailun more comfortable?

She bit down hard again, but the firm feedback shattered her hopes. Instead, her efforts only made Kailun moan in pleasure.

“Kailun? What are you doing here?”

Just as Rose wanted to drag Kailun down with her in a self-destructive attack, she suddenly heard Fox’s voice and quickly stopped biting.

Although her plan had gone awry, she had successfully gotten close to Fox. As long as she could touch her, she could carry out her plan.

    She would endure it!

It was just her mouth being defiled. It was no big deal.

As long as she could escape from Kailun’s clutches, it was all worth it.

Rose stopped resisting, even when Kailun rubbed her head while thrusting into her mouth.

“I’m relaxing here. Would you like to join me, Miss Fox?”

Kailun flattened the towel in front of him. Thankfully, Rose had calmed down. Otherwise, with Fox’s sharp senses, she would definitely notice something was amiss.

“No…” Fox, wrapped in a towel, instinctively wanted to refuse, but she stopped mid-sentence.

There was no one else here, so why not be a little bolder?

Thinking this way, Fox wagged her tail and said, “Since you’re begging me, I’ll join you. I have something I want to talk to you about. If I wait any longer, I might not be able to find you.”

Fox entered the hot spring pool, her towel slipping down to reveal a figure no less impressive than Rose’s. She was the embodiment of a fox spirit.

Especially her fox ears and tail, which always tempted Kailun to play with them.

Oh no, he was getting excited again.

Kailun’s heightened desire caused Rose even more pain. Even with her strong constitution, she wasn’t sure if her throat could withstand this “assault.”

Kailun had initially thought that Fox would run away due to her shyness, but she obediently entered the pool and sat beside him.

Fox deliberately sat very close to him, her smooth shoulder touching his. Her beautiful pink eyes darted around nervously.

Looking at her profile, Kailun was reminded of the young Fox.

“I thought I heard someone else’s voice just now. Did someone come here?” Fox suddenly asked.

Kailun pushed the towel in front of him down a little. “No, you must have misheard.”

“Oh… I see. But can you please stop pulling my tail? It feels weird.” Fox turned to look at Kailun, her eyes glistening.

Someone was pulling her tail, making her body go limp.

“I’m not.” Kailun showed Fox his right hand.

Fox: “What about your other hand?”

Kailun raised his left arm out of the water.

    Fox: “???”

If it wasn’t Kailun, then who was it? Was there a third person here?

Fox was stunned. She glared at the towel in front of Kailun. “Let me see who it is! Is it Bella?”

    “No.”

Kailun shook his head, not removing his hand.

Fox rolled her eyes and pleaded, “Let me see, just a peek. I know what kind of person you are. I won’t laugh at you. What’s there to be embarrassed about?”

She really wanted to know who had gotten into the hot spring before her. It was too infuriating.

Kailun: “It’s not that I’m embarrassed. It’s just about to come out.”

Fox perked up her ears. “Who?”

    Kailun chuckled but didn’t answer.

He closed his eyes and increased the pressure in his left hand. As his body trembled slightly, he let out a long sigh.

[You choked Rose hard. Goodwill -1, Total Goodwill -92]

[??? is enraged after witnessing your dirty act. She believes you’re the biggest scum in the world, defiling her purity. Goodwill -5, Total Goodwill -68]

    “Splash!”

Rose, underwater, couldn’t hold back any longer and started thrashing, her legs creating waves.

By touching Fox’s tail, she had successfully transferred the entity called “Fate” into her body, but the entity was clearly furious.

Ottovia wasn’t constantly monitoring Fox. She was busy with her own affairs most of the time.

It was because of Rose’s actions that Ottovia turned her attention to her, and then she saw… that.

    She felt defiled, corrupted.

Anger, frustration, terror… Ottovia’s emotions were clearly conveyed to Rose.

For someone who had spent most of her life in slumber, this scene was incredibly shocking.

“Get out of here! Immediately! Now!”

Ottovia, residing in Rose’s soul, roared at her. She wanted to lead the Abyssal forces to the Xiya Kingdom right now, capture Kailun, and skin him alive.

How dare he show her this? He must be tired of living.

Recalling Rose’s experience, Ottovia wanted to self-destruct on the spot.

    [??? Goodwill -2, Total Goodwill -70]

Sensing Ottovia’s emotions, the choking Rose struggled desperately. Thankfully, Kailun had released her head, allowing her to escape to the surface.

Rose burst out of the water, kneeling in the hot spring pool. Due to inertia, she leaned back, her hair spraying water droplets in an arc.

Because of her posture, from Kailun’s perspective, her body resembled a “C” opening to the left, her prominent features incredibly eye-catching, trembling alluringly.

Fox instinctively covered Kailun’s eyes with her hand. “That’s too vulgar. Don’t look.”

Kailun chuckled helplessly. “You’re right. Rose is too vulgar. I won’t look.”

    “Hmph… Cough, cough!”

Rose wanted to snort, but because her throat wasn’t clear, she started coughing instead.

She grabbed the towel from Kailun’s lap, stood up, and ran out of the hot spring. It was truly terrible. He had been playing with her all along. A demon like Kailun couldn’t be killed.

“Cough, cough, cough…” Rose ran away without looking back, grabbing her clothes as she fled.

In her mind, the entity calling herself “Fate” was still ranting and raving, seeming even more innocent than her. She didn’t seem very reliable.

Rose secretly decided that if she couldn’t escape with this entity’s help, she would sell her out.

They weren’t allies, just using each other.

Only after Rose’s fair figure disappeared did Fox remove her hand from Kailun’s eyes.

She didn’t know why she had done that. It was pointless.

Perhaps she didn’t want Rose to be ahead of her.

She hated Rose because she was a traitor, a spy. Her existence harmed Kailun’s interests.

If it weren’t for Kailun stopping her, she might have imprisoned Rose and interrogated her about her true motives.

The rational Fox didn’t ask Kailun what he had been doing. She submerged herself in the water, leaving only her head above the surface.

Seeing Fox’s low spirits, Kailun said, “Actually, I came here to find you, but I ran into Rose first. I think she was looking for you. Perhaps she was instructed by that unlucky entity to contact you.”

From the recent changes in goodwill and his own perception, Kailun was certain that the entity had transferred itself to Rose. This discovery surprised him.

He also hadn’t expected that entity to react so strongly. She seemed very innocent, even more so than Fox.

“Did you really come to find me?” However, Fox chose to ignore the second part of Kailun’s statement.

Kailun played along. “Otherwise, why wouldn’t I go to the maid area and enjoy the service of the maids, or to the dancer area to watch the beautiful dances? You were so obedient as a little fox, so soft and warm, like a marshmallow.”

Fox pushed Kailun’s shoulder. “Then go find the little fox. Don’t bother me.”

    [Fox’s Goodwill +2, Total Goodwill 72]

“Okay, I understand. I’ll shut up now.”

Kailun looked at Fox with amusement. He reached out, wrapped his arms around her soft tail, and then lay back on the rock, taking a nap.

    Fox: “…”

Seeing that Kailun was truly silent, she became anxious. She had finally found an opportunity to be alone with him. Wouldn’t it be a huge loss if they didn’t make any progress?

Fox submerged her mouth in the water, blowing bubbles as she thought about what she could do.

    ……

“Rose! You’re such a person! I misjudged you! How could you do such a thing? Disgusting! Disgusting!”

Rose had just finished rinsing her mouth when she heard Ottovia’s accusations. This way of venting her anger was like that of an immature little girl.

    “Is it my fault?”

Rose raised her voice. “If it weren’t for your request, would I have ended up like this? Not only did you not compensate me for my losses, but you also came to blame me. Are you really sincere about cooperating with me? Don’t forget, not only do I know the detailed ingredient list, but I also have a chance to gather them.”

Rose wiped her mouth with a towel. She had given up on the idea of assassinating Kailun. As long as she could escape, she would be grateful.

She had already paid a heavy price this time. What about next time?

“Aah! I’m going crazy! I should have cut off the connection earlier. Why did you have to show me that scene?!”

Ottovia’s voice rang out from within Rose’s soul. This time, she didn’t blame Rose.

Although she was furious, she knew that it wasn’t Rose’s fault. It was all Kailun’s fault. That damned bastard was responsible for all of this.

Ottovia: “When I regain my former power, I’ll tear him to pieces! I swear!”

Rose, changing into clean pajamas, sat on the bed and asked, “How long will it take for you to recover your power?”

“Soon, just another hundred years. I’ve returned to the place where I first rose to power. Another hundred years of accumulation will be enough.” Ottovia replied confidently.

For someone who had been in slumber for a long time, a hundred years was just a blink of an eye.

    Rose: “…”

Not only was her tongue numb, but now her mind was numb as well.

  • As a villain, I just want them to behave 202

Chapter 202: An Unexpected Turn of Events

“Pell, why are you betraying me too? Have I treated you poorly?”

After several consecutive teleportation spells, Roden’s group took a short break. The Pope seized this opportunity to pull Helena aside and question her.

“Everything you have now was given to you by me. Without me, you would still be an ordinary person.”

The Pope couldn’t understand why the once loyal Helena would choose to betray her. As her “dirty glove,” Helena should understand her the best.

“Your Holiness, my name is Helena. Please address me by my proper name next time. Pell is already dead by your hand. Now, I belong to Kailun’s side, so please keep your distance.”

Helena smiled at the Pope. Saying these words made her feel much better.

She had been suppressing herself for too long. In the past, she had only vented her frustrations through blood and death, treating every mission as her last.

As the Pope’s assassin, it was a miracle that she had survived until now.

“You… all of you have gone mad, all bewitched by that demon! This is terrible! What benefits did he promise you to make you follow him? Tell me, and I’ll give you double!”

The Pope stomped her foot angrily. If Helena wasn’t currently on Kailun’s side, that foot might have already landed on her.

To the former Pope, assassins like Helena were just obedient consumables. If one died during a mission, she could just train another one.

Although most of the previous Saints had been “consumed,” there were still some remaining former Holy Sons. She could just sacrifice a few elderly ones to create two new useful assassins.

“Alright, Kailun promised me that I could whip you. So double would mean adding barbs to the whip. So, after we return, are you really willing to be whipped by me?”

Helena’s eyes lit up, and she pulled out a barbed whip from her sleeve.

She had always been prepared to whip the Pope and had even secretly infiltrated the dungeon before, but she had failed every time.

Now that the Pope had taken the initiative to make this request, she was ecstatic.

“…” The Pope glanced at Helena’s whip and remained silent for a moment. “You people are truly insane, utterly unreasonable. Get ready to continue our journey.”

She had given up on questioning Helena. Judging from her eyes, she was probably already broken.

Come to think of it, Chrissy was also broken. That look in her eyes wasn’t like the Chrissy she knew.

She had interacted with Kailun and discovered that his words and actions had a strange infectious power. It was normal for young people like Helena and Chrissy to be bewitched.

But this method wouldn’t work on her. Once she returned to the Temple of the Celestial God, she would have a chance to make new plans. Even the one-month contract wouldn’t have much impact on her.

“Can’t we talk a little more? Just one hour. Let me whip you for an hour. Please, Your Holiness.”

As the Pope turned to leave, Helena blocked her path with the whip.

    “Get lost!”

The Pope shouted, her voice filled with authority.

“It seems Your Holiness is in a good mood. We’ll do it next time then.” Helena put away the whip, a hint of regret in her voice.

She wasn’t afraid of the Pope punishing her. Kailun had bestowed upon her immense power. Even the Pope might not be able to defeat her.

This was the reason why Kailun was confident in letting them accompany the Pope. The real lamb was the arrogant Pope herself.

Helena had only said that to get revenge, to provoke the Pope into attacking her, and then whip her a few times.

Unfortunately, the Pope had restrained herself.

    ……

In a small town a day’s journey away from Alaye, Charles and Paul met at an inn.

Thanks to Charles’s intervention, Harry’s life was temporarily preserved. He was estimated to be able to hold on for another three days.

“The Pope is already on her way back with reinforcements. Just hold on a little longer.”

Charles poured himself a pot of black tea and sipped it slowly. He had experienced a rollercoaster of emotions in the past week, his entire demeanor looking much more dejected.

He had returned from the main battlefield in defeat, the Pope had briefly lost contact, Alaye was besieged by the Empress, and the White Jade Alliance, having suffered heavy losses, had severely condemned them…

So much had happened that he could barely keep up.

“Where did the Pope go? She’s not in Alaye, and she didn’t support the main battlefield. Could there be anything more important than these matters?”

Paul, sitting by the bed, tending to Harry, was full of resentment. He believed that all of this was due to the Pope’s miscalculations.

If it weren’t for her major misjudgment, they wouldn’t have suffered such heavy losses at the second mine.

The two old men he had befriended were gone, and even Koya, who still had some value, had become useless.

But Koya deserved to die because she had sent someone to assassinate Harry.

“The Pope naturally has her own plans. If I hear another sarcastic remark from you, I’ll kick you and Harry out and let you fend for yourselves. Don’t forget, only by returning to Alaye can Harry be saved.”

Charles frowned. He still disliked Paul. If it weren’t for the bigger picture, he would have already started cursing.

A traitor who switched sides so easily wasn’t worthy of the Pope’s concern. Bringing him back to Alaye was just a waste of resources.

But since the Pope had given the order, he would naturally carry it out. If Paul dared to speak ill of the Pope again, he would find an opportunity to teach him a lesson.

Paul, sensing Charles’s displeasure, realized that he had said the wrong thing. He quickly changed his tune. “I understand. I wasn’t being sarcastic towards the Pope. I was just worried about Harry and spoke out of anxiety. I hope Master Charles can understand.”

“Hmph!” Charles snorted coldly and took another sip of tea.

    “Buzz!”

Just as the warm tea went down his throat, he received a new message. He quickly put down his cup and checked it.

“It’s a magic letter from the Pope!”

Charles’s spirits lifted upon seeing the familiar handwriting. He excitedly read the contents and summarized, “The Pope said they have sped up their journey and are expected to arrive within two or three days. She wants us to go to a town a thousand miles away from Alaye to investigate the situation.”

“But wouldn’t it be dangerous to be so close to Alaye?” Paul hesitated.

Charles put away his communication device. “If you’re worried, stay here. I’ll go alone. But if we miss the best time for treatment, I’m afraid no one will be willing to treat Harry.”

After saying that, he jumped out of the window and ran towards the distance. He didn’t use teleportation magic directly because he wanted to give Paul a chance to catch up.

After all, two ninth-rank mages could handle more trouble. If he went alone, he could easily be surrounded by the Empress’s forces.

Paul, sitting by the bed, hesitated for a moment. Looking at Harry’s increasingly pale face, he finally made up his mind.

“Wait for me, Harry. As long as we can see the Pope, you’ll be safe.”

He muttered to himself, put Harry on his shoulder, and jumped out of the window.

However, Paul didn’t know that the current acting Pope was his enemy, and the Pope he was about to meet was also his enemy.

    ……

    “Splash!”

Kailun relaxed in the comfortable hot spring, enjoying a moment of peace.

This hot spring was built by Ella. It wasn’t a natural hot spring but a magical creation.

However, it seemed very effective, and Ella planned to have the Chamber of Commerce promote it.

It felt no different from a natural hot spring and was perfect for relieving fatigue.

This hot spring was located in the courtyard. Only the people living in the small building could enter, which meant only Kailun, the sole male resident.

The hot spring was divided into four areas: the guest area for Isabella and the others, the maid area for the maids of the small building, the dancer area for the dancers of the Loya troupe, and the family area for those close to Kailun, such as Afra, Carol, and Anna.

    As for Kailun himself?

He could go to the guest area for a chance encounter with Fox, the maid area for the service of lovely and beautiful maids, the dancer area for the mesmerizing dances of beautiful ladies, or the family area for another round of “activities.”

In a way, he could go anywhere. Except for Isabella, who was currently an ally, the others were mostly “prey.”

He was specifically thinking of Rose and Bella. If he encountered Shirley, he might hesitate. Shirley was a bit smarter, but only a bit.

After much deliberation, he went to the guest area. Besides Fox, everyone else was busy with their own affairs and wouldn’t be coming anytime soon.

But to his disappointment, he didn’t see Fox there, so he could only enjoy the hot spring alone.

Kailun called a maid to warm two bottles of white wine and then covered his eyes with a hot towel. After dismissing the maid, he leaned back against a large rock, lost in thought.

He wanted to be lazy occasionally, just lie there and do nothing.

He was tired and wanted to be a “salty fish.”

Kailun took a sip of the wine. It was a bit spicy, not as sweet as red wine, but the aftertaste was quite pleasant.

He lowered his constitution so he could enjoy the slight intoxication brought by the alcohol.

Feeling the steam from the hot spring, he took a few more sips, the feeling of intoxication becoming more pronounced.

As he sipped the wine leisurely, Kailun felt much more relaxed, a pleasant dizziness washing over him.

    “Tap, tap, tap!”

After an unknown amount of time, he heard footsteps approaching, a bit hurried, as if the person couldn’t wait.

Kailun was curious, so he removed the towel from his eyes and looked towards the entrance. He hoped it was Fox. That would be much more fun.

Isabella would also be good. At least the grown-up Isabella was very much to his liking.

Bella was also fine. The little dragon girl must be very comfortable to hug.

However, the person who walked in from behind the screen wasn’t Fox, Isabella, or Bella.

    “Rose?”

    “Kailun?”

They both exclaimed each other’s names, clearly surprised by this encounter.

Rose was wrapped in a white towel, just covering her chest and bottom, the rest of her skin exposed.

Kailun first looked at Rose’s surprised face, then glanced at her impressive “northern hemisphere,” and finally admired her perfect legs.

The fair and curvy mature woman was quite alluring from a certain angle.

“I’m sorry. Excuse me. I’ll just go.”

Rose came back to her senses and quickly apologized. Before she could finish speaking, she lifted her long leg, ready to turn and run.

However, Kailun’s voice, like a demonic whisper, reached her ears. “Didn’t I teach you how to apologize? Do it again.”

Rose’s raised leg froze in mid-air. She looked at Kailun, who was leisurely sipping his wine.

He seemed a bit drunk, his face flushed.

“As my exclusive wine server, you should apologize by serving me wine in the hot spring.” Perhaps worried that Rose wouldn’t understand, Kailun kindly explained it again.

Rose secretly took a step back. “I just remembered that I haven’t finished practicing my dance. I’m going back to review it. Can we do this next time?”

He nodded, and Rose’s heart leaped with joy.

    Kailun: “No.”

    Rose: “…”

He nodded but said no? Was he sick?

She almost cursed out loud. She shouldn’t have come looking for Fox.

Speaking of which, she had seen Fox enter the hot spring with her own eyes, but where was she now?

She couldn’t have gone to the wrong hot spring pool, right?

Not only had her plan to contact Fox failed, but she had also run into Kailun, the big demon. She was doomed.

“Come and pour me some wine. You have ten seconds to think about it.”

Kailun glanced at Rose again and closed his eyes. This was his concession.

Since he couldn’t have fun with Fox, he would find it from Rose. It was also good to occasionally bully this “traitor.”

Rose looked at Kailun. Although his eyes were closed, the pressure he exerted on her was even greater.

But there was one strange thing. Kailun’s aura didn’t seem strong today, even weaker than hers.

    Should she try something?

She looked down at the towel wrapped around her body and sighed. Unfortunately, she hadn’t brought anything. If she had a dagger or something, she might be able to try something.

If she used magic directly, Kailun might detect her mana output as soon as she started channeling it. It was too risky.

After much deliberation, Rose could only endure her frustration and step into the hot spring.

    “Splash~”

She waded through the knee-deep water, walking towards Kailun step by step, stopping about a meter away from him.

Kailun handed his wine glass to Rose. “Do you remember the same way you served me wine last time? Start if you do.”

Hearing Kailun’s commanding tone, Rose instinctively knelt down. She was still hesitant as she held the exquisite jade wine glass.

Kailun seemed really weak now. Should she strangle him?

No, not yet. She would pretend to obey him first, wait until he was distracted, and then use her powerful legs to strangle him.

Rose made up her mind and poured the white wine down her cleavage, watching it flow down and mix with the steaming hot spring water.

She moved closer to Kailun, one hand tilting the wine glass, the other hand cupping her breast, guiding the jade beads into the valley.

But when they made contact, a strange sensation made her moan softly.

Poor Rose wanted to tell Kailun that those weren’t grapes, but he probably wouldn’t listen to her.

    ……

“Not here? Didn’t Anna say Kailun was already here?”

Fox, wrapped in a towel, arrived at the family area of the hot spring. She searched but couldn’t find Kailun.

Helplessly, she sighed and headed towards the guest area.
