Chapter 169: Where’s My Dagger?
“Saved…”
In the second before she lost consciousness, Afra looked at Chrissy as if she were her savior.
Although her strength had greatly increased, it wasn’t enough to get her out of this predicament.
“Not bad. You lasted for half an hour this time.”
Kailun nodded with satisfaction after “dealing with” Afra.
He was warmed up now. Anna and Ella’s combat effectiveness was limited due to their lower strength, while Afra was too sensitive to endure.
Perhaps only Chrissy, who was completely devoted to this, could keep up with his rhythm.
Kailun turned to look at Chrissy. Every second of hesitation on the battlefield could lead to a missed opportunity. As he turned, a pair of pure white “cannonballs” flew towards him.
The “cannonballs” hit Kailun squarely in the face with a “thump,” knocking him over.
He had underestimated Chrissy. He hadn’t expected her to unleash such a powerful force.
But Kailun didn’t back down. He rolled over, planning a counterattack.
“This is a battle to the death. If you want to be able to get out of bed tomorrow morning, then kill me now~”
Chrissy licked her red lips, her eyes burning with passion, her warm breath washing over Kailun’s stomach.
Perhaps it was too intense, but this passion felt a bit sticky, carrying an indescribable scent.
“I can grant your wish, but don’t regret it later.”
Kailun chuckled. He allocated the remaining attribute points he hadn’t used, mostly to agility and strength.
Only brute force could make Chrissy face reality. Since she wanted to be “killed and brought back to life,” Kailun would fulfill her wish.
There was no need for further probing. This was a clash of titans. They deployed their “troops” and engaged in a fierce battle.
With the sound of war drums, the battle commenced. They charged back and forth across the “battlefield,” leaving countless “casualties” in their wake. The spilled “blood” stained the battlefield with a new color.
Under the moonlight, the “blood” was terrifyingly white.
Chrissy never gave up, her cries as loud as the battle horns.
The fierce battle raged from the foot of the mountain to the summit, from the mountain pass to the mountainside.
Chrissy’s endurance far surpassed Afra’s. She was skilled in changing formations and had a strict military discipline. Her mastery of defensive techniques allowed her to fight Kailun on equal footing.
She would occasionally rub her leg against Kailun, significantly increasing his “rage.” Every provocation brought greater rewards.
After several hours of fighting, neither side could claim victory. It seemed that Chrissy was venting all her dissatisfaction.
Helena, standing outside the door, listening to the battle, covered her face with her hands. She wanted to run away, but she didn’t dare.
She was afraid of encountering Carol. After all, this was Kailun’s home.
Moreover, if she left like this, Chrissy would make things difficult for her later.
Helena was torn. She subconsciously touched the dagger in her pocket, wanting to secretly stab Chrissy. But after searching for a while, she couldn’t find her dagger.
Oh, her original dagger had been taken by Kailun. Never mind then.
Wait!
A dangerous idea suddenly popped into her mind. Kailun must be exhausted after such a long battle. If she waited a few more hours, she would have the chance to strike while he was asleep.
Then wouldn’t she be able to switch Kailun’s dagger?
Helena took out an identical-looking dagger from under her skirt. She tossed it in her hand. Even the weight was the same.
“This might work!”
Her eyes sparkled. Soon, she would be able to get back what belonged to her.
With this thought in mind, she hid the dagger in her sleeve, covered her ears with her hands, and stood outside the door.
After several hours, the battle gradually subsided, leaving only the lingering smell of “gunpowder” in the air.
A while later, the “smoke” in the room was cleared by Kailun’s magic.
After waiting for another hour, Helena figured that Kailun must have fallen asleep from exhaustion. She gently pushed the door open and peeked inside.
From her perspective, the person on the bed was already asleep, covered with a blanket, looking very peaceful.
She took a deep breath and used her talent to further reduce her presence.
Helena sneaked into the room. Only the bright moonlight provided illumination.
She first went to the wardrobe, a distance away from the bed, and carefully opened a few drawers, searching nervously.
Most people liked to hide their secrets in wardrobes. Helena thought Kailun would be no different.
However, after searching for several minutes, she couldn’t find her dagger. Apart from various stockings and underwear, she only found an ordinary-looking box.
Without thinking, Helena opened the box. Inside, there were several small bottles filled with liquid.
She frowned in confusion, unscrewed the cork of one of the bottles, and brought it to her nose. The smell was familiar, like the “gunpowder” that had filled the air earlier.
Unsure, she sniffed again.
The scent was strong and pure, filled with Chrissy’s scent.
She suddenly thought of holy water and then the events that had just transpired.
Helena: “!!!”
How could there be such a shameless person in this world?!
Even collecting this kind of thing?! He was too perverted!
“Kailun must be a unique kind of pervert!” She couldn’t help but blurt out.
“I’m not happy to hear you say that.”
As soon as she finished speaking, a male voice came from behind her. She recognized it as Kailun’s voice.
“Aah!”
The sudden voice startled Helena. She instinctively tried to cover her mouth to stop herself from making more noise, but she forgot that she was still holding the small bottle.
Startled, she inevitably spilled some of the contents onto her lips, some of it flowing into her mouth.
“Spit, spit, spit!”
A strange taste filled Helena’s mouth. She felt like her mouth was dirty.
Just as she was about to stick out her tongue and spit everything out, Kailun’s voice rang out again, “I didn’t expect you to have such a strong taste. It seems you like it very much?”
Helena, coughing, turned around and saw Kailun looking down at her from above.
He was holding an open magic book, which, judging from its thickness, was probably a ninth-rank magic book.
A guess formed in her mind. Was it possible that Kailun hadn’t been asleep at all? That he had been watching her actions the whole time?
But this wasn’t the most crucial discovery. The most crucial thing was that she realized Kailun was completely naked.
He was standing in front of her, his back to the moonlight. Something in the darkness was dangling before her eyes.
If it were daytime, there would be a large shadow cast on Helena’s face.
“Gulp~”
Out of fear, she swallowed, along with the liquid she hadn’t finished spitting out.
No wonder Chrissy’s cries on the “battlefield” had been so loud. She seemed to understand now.
“Since you’re not answering, I’ll take it as a yes.” Kailun glanced at the small bottle Helena had dropped, its contents spilled on the floor. “I see you’ve been searching for so long. You must be looking for something important, right? Let me think. What could it be that you care about so much? Oh, you must be trying to steal my dagger.”
As he spoke, Kailun waved his hand, and a gleaming dagger flew from the bedside table into his hand.
Realizing that the dagger wasn’t in the wardrobe after all, Helena looked at the dagger she had prepared for the switch, hidden in her sleeve, and fell silent.
All her efforts had been in vain. She had overthought it.
“Helena, you don’t have to look so dejected. I didn’t say I wouldn’t give it to you, did I?”
Kailun chuckled, glancing at the dagger peeking out from Helena’s sleeve.
“Why do you remember my name? And are you really going to give it back to me?”
Helena looked up again, not even backing away when she was almost touching Kailun’s…
“I’ve always remembered your name. It’s just that it was difficult to pronounce before. As for whether I’ll give it to you, that depends on your performance. You don’t think you can damage my things without compensating me, do you?”
Kailun took half a step forward, almost touching Helena’s lips.
He felt no pressure facing the assassin girl who had practically offered herself to him. This was the one who had killed Bella, the dragon girl, in the past. He was just “eliminating a pest” for the dragons.
To lure Helena in, Kailun twirled the dagger in his hand.
The blade gleamed under the moonlight. Kailun’s direct touch was no longer a hint. Helena hesitated for a moment, then closed her eyes and asked, “What do you want me to do?”
“No, it’s not about what I want to do. It’s about what you want to do. You should ask yourself.”
Kailun almost burst out laughing. He felt like a villain deceiving an innocent girl.
This little assassin was even more interesting than he had imagined.
“I… I understand.”
Helena swallowed again, her tongue darting out to moisten her dry lips. She felt like her face was on fire, the heat making it impossible to think.
Kailun’s words carried a magical power, unconsciously guiding her thoughts in the direction he desired.
Fighting back her shame, Helena opened her mouth. She tasted the liquid from the small bottle again, but this time, it was even stronger.
She carefully experimented, constantly adapting, her hands gripping Kailun’s thighs as she knelt before him.
Kailun gently stroked her head, his touch conveying a kind of gentle affection.
However, this gentleness didn’t last long, soon replaced by a rougher touch. A suffocating feeling filled her mouth.
“Ugh…”
She didn’t know how much time had passed. Helena only remembered being choked several times.
Just as her mind was becoming hazy, Kailun suddenly said, “You did very well. This is what you deserve. Take it.”
Helena opened her eyes. Many things that weren’t there before obstructed her vision.
To show her obedience, she didn’t even wipe her face with her sleeve.
She didn’t feel much pressure submitting to Kailun. Not only did she know she was no match for him, but even Carol, his maid, could completely control her.
To get back her precious dagger, it was worth paying a small price.
Helena breathed a sigh of relief. Although she had thought she was going to die, she had survived.
“Thank you for your generosity, Lord Kailun.”
Helena patted her sore knees and stood up.
“You’re welcome. I hope you’ll be just as hardworking next time we meet. Keep it up, I’m rooting for you.”
Kailun used the dagger to cut open the collar of Helena’s shirt and then tucked the dagger securely inside.
“Go back. I need to read and study. Don’t disturb me tonight.”
Kailun smiled and pushed Helena out of the room, locking the door behind her.
He sat back on the bed, lit a magic lamp that wasn’t too harsh on his eyes, and continued studying the magic book. He had already read quite a bit while “bullying” Helena, and now he had to continue. If he was lucky, he might be able to finish half of it before sunrise.
On the other side, Helena, after leaving the room, hurriedly took out the dagger from her chest and examined it.
She happily swiped it through the air.
“Whoosh~”
Listening to the sound of the dagger cutting through the air, Helena frowned.
An uneasy feeling welled up in her heart. To dispel it, she swiped the dagger against the hard wall.
The wall was easily cut open, but Helena’s expression turned to anger.
She looked at her sleeve again. The dagger inside was gone.
The dagger in her hand wasn’t her eighth-rank dagger at all. Kailun had switched it while “bullying” her.
No wonder he had said he hoped she would be more hardworking next time they met. He was waiting for her to take the bait.
“Demon! He’s a demon!”
Helena felt like a bullied puppy, wiping the stains from her face with her sleeve.
All her efforts had been in vain. It was a terrible feeling.
Not only had she failed to retrieve her dagger, but her clothes were also torn. The only gain might be that she had “eaten her fill.”
Helena squatted by the door, drawing circles on the floor. She still wanted to get her dagger back…
……
Early the next morning, just as dawn was breaking, Chrissy left Kailun’s manor with Helena.
Their mental states were vastly different. Chrissy was full of energy, while Helena looked listless and dejected.
At 9:00 AM, Kailun, who had finished reading the magic book and taken a three-hour nap, got dressed and washed up with the help of Carol and the twin elves.
Afra and the others had woken up even earlier and were probably already busy with work.
Louise, the elder elf sister, carefully put Kailun’s shoes on. Selena, the younger sister, meticulously smoothed out the wrinkles on his clothes, while Carol tidied his collar and inquired about his well-being.
The attentive little maid was truly adorable. Looking at Carol, she was almost “ripe” enough to be “consumed.”
Kailun patted Carol’s head and stood up. “I’ll leave the task of assembling the new bed to you today.”
“Oh, is there more?” Carol replied somewhat reluctantly. After all, the fruits of their labor would be enjoyed by others.
“There is, but we’ll talk about it after I get back. Have the two little elves take your measurements for new clothes later.”
He glanced at Carol’s figure. It was time for new clothes.
After getting dressed, Kailun left the room with Carol and the twins. At the door, he saw Phils, who had been waiting for a long time.
She looked at him expectantly. “I’ve already cleared my schedule for today.”
“I haven’t forgotten. Let’s go. I’ll take you to a place that holds special memories for me.”
Kailun walked ahead, and Phils quickly followed.
Carol and the elf sisters exchanged glances and then walked in the opposite direction.
“Where are we going? Can you tell me first?”
Leaving the building, Phils wrapped her arms around herself. She had been too excited to sleep last night.
“Do you know Kano Prison?” Kailun asked.
Phils thought for a moment and replied, “I vaguely remember it. Wasn’t it abandoned?”
Kailun: “It was abandoned, but not completely. So our destination today is Kano Prison. Do you want to have breakfast first?”
Hearing that they were going to Kano Prison, Phils’s eyes lit up. “No! I already had breakfast this morning. What are we waiting for? Let’s go now!”
However, Kailun led Phils onto the carriage driven by Dean Edlin. “No rush. I haven’t had breakfast yet. You need to let me regain some strength, right?”
“Alright, but hurry up. I can’t wait! If there’s a whip or something… hehehe…”
Phils narrowed her eyes, a mischievous smile on her face.
At Kailun’s urging, Edlin started the carriage. Today, she was even more careful, focusing all her attention on the road, afraid of hitting another Helena.
“By the way, Edlin, remember to give me the magic scroll you wrote. I might need it later.”
Kailun suddenly remembered something and reminded her.
Edlin stared intently at the ground. “Okay, it’ll be done soon. I’m just finalizing some details so others can use it easily.”
“That’s great. After all, it’s a two million gold coin scroll. I hope you’ll treat it seriously.”
After speaking, Kailun took out a magic book and started reading.
Although Phils wanted to ask what was written on the scroll, seeing Kailun absorbed in the magic book, she didn’t disturb him.
……
“Your Holiness, Saint Chrissy and her unknown guard have returned from Kailun’s manor. They have been there since last night.”
The Pope in Alaye received the latest report.
“I understand. You may leave. I’ll make a decision.”
The Pope sighed, feeling much older.
No matter what important information Chrissy brought back, she would feel guilty, as if it were tainted.
Her hand hovered over the communication device but didn’t move.
“Should I go to the Xiya Kingdom and take a look… Just a glance. After all, with my strength, no one can stop me.”
She pondered.
After hesitating for a long time, the Pope still couldn’t make up her mind. So she picked up the communication device and sent a magic letter to Charles, asking about the recent situation.
Charles’s reply was very simple: “I have returned to the alliance. Everything is fine.”
