She heard a command.
Her throat tightened involuntarily. Chu Ruan stared at Su Mingxiu without blinking, frantically calculating in her mind if she could outrun this Alpha after getting out of the car, even with her injured leg.
“Click.”
A soft sound interrupted her thoughts.
Chu Ruan came back to her senses and saw Su Mingxiu reaching back with her other hand, locking all the car doors without even looking. Those deep, unfathomable black eyes were still fixed on her.
“Do you want me to repeat myself?”
The seemingly impatient person slowly loosened her tie with the hand that had just been swatted away by Chu Ruan.
The dark red striped tie loosened slightly, instantly making her aura more relaxed and casual, yet also adding a touch of wild danger.
“Fine, fine, I’ll pick it up…” Chu Ruan grumbled, her movements still slow and hesitant, like a snail inching forward. After a long while, she still hadn’t bent down. She even tried to bargain with Su Mingxiu: “But you have to take back what you said earlier.”

Hospital parking lot, a quiet corner, a blind spot for the surveillance cameras. A car shook violently a few times. If any pedestrians happened to pass by at this moment, their imaginations would run wild.
Inside the car.
A dark red tie bound a pair of delicate, white wrists to the metal bar connecting the passenger seat. The owner of those hands, her face flushed, was biting her lip stubbornly, refusing to make a sound. Her heart pounded like a drum, afraid that someone would pass by and see this embarrassing scene through the windshield.
Her injured leg was pressed against the seat, making her completely immobile, like a fish on a chopping board, at the mercy of the other person.

Another sound, even more humiliating than the ones landing on her face.
“Where did you go wrong?”
That pleasant voice was still laced with laughter, but to Chu Ruan’s ears, it only sounded incredibly malicious.
She pressed her head against the car window, refusing to speak, thinking that her thick skin could endure it.
But as the sounds rained down on her, the embarrassed and pained Omega had to admit that the Alpha’s strength wasn’t something she could withstand—the wooden comb from last night was one thing, but how could a slap with bare hands be so painful?

“So you do know.” She sighed meaningfully.
She had thought this little kitten was naturally stubborn, but it turned out she was deliberately disobeying.

The car was driving on the overpass. The little girl in the passenger seat was listless, her cheeks still slightly flushed. She sniffed and shifted uncomfortably, trying to find a comfortable position.
But her backside was burning with pain, making her restless no matter how she sat. Remembering Su Mingxiu’s warning, she couldn’t help but glance back and saw the inconspicuous wooden box on the back seat.

Just then, a phone rang.
Chu Ruan took it out and glanced at the caller ID. She quickly answered: “Mom.”
The person on the other end didn’t notice the grievance in her voice or the slight sniffle. She simply announced her decision and arrangements, catching Chu Ruan off guard: “Move back? Why? Aren’t we happy living outside?”
“Me? Didn’t we pay the rent? I can live by myself… Then I’ll move back to the school dorms… Why not?”
At some point in the conversation, Chu Ruan looked angrily at the person beside her. But after glaring for a while, she lowered her gaze powerlessly, silently waiting for the person on the other end to finish speaking.
When her mother finally stopped talking and asked something, Chu Ruan’s lips moved, and she finally said: “As long as… you’re happy.”
She hung up the phone, her head lowered.
Her mother had told her excitedly that Chu Lei was finally willing to take her back to the Chu family mansion. However, in return, Chu Ruan, as her daughter, had to get along well with that person from the Su family.
“We’re not renting outside anymore anyway, why don’t you just go live with her?”
“Then I’ll move back to the school dorms—”

But after a few steps, the Alpha stopped and said something to someone inside. Then, she strode towards Chu Ruan.
Chu Ruan looked at her with wide eyes. Then, she was suddenly scooped up in the other person’s arms.
“Ah!” The voice from above came before her protest: “There are no wheelchairs here, be good.”
After a pause, she added: “Don’t worry, no one will see.”
Chu Ruan’s hand, suspended in mid-air, hesitated, then lightly grasped the fabric of Su Mingxiu’s shoulder.
Only when they walked past the tranquil courtyard with its rockery and flowing water, entering a simple and elegant room, and she was placed on a chair with two soft pillows, did she hear the Omega in her arms whisper softly:
“I hate you.”
Su Mingxiu’s reply was filled with a smile, without a hint of hesitation: “I know.”
