Chapter 34: Let Me In and See
In the vast church, the Goddess statue stood tall in the center, surrounded by devout believers. Yuehua Fengyun passed through the main hall and entered a room where eleven shadowy figures stood on a raised platform, looking at her.
“A simple reconnaissance mission took you this long…?”
“I told you, a newly appointed bishop wouldn’t be capable…”
“Quiet. This intense battle was caused by internal conflict among the witches. We need more information.”

Yuehua Fengyun, annoyed by their chatter before she had even reported, threw the information pouch at them.
“Heh, a bunch of card-playing commanders hiding at headquarters have no right to criticize me. Here’s what you wanted…!”
She threw the pouch on the ground and stormed out. One of the shadowy figures, a shapely woman, chuckled.
“Honestly, you guys. I told you not to gossip in front of her. You’ve upset her~”
“Infighting is forbidden among the 12 bishops. You’re breaking the rules…”

Yuehua Fengyun left the hall, fuming, and sat down outside. She had rushed to complete the mission, and they still complained about her being slow. She had even rescued the kidnapped nun. The mission was a complete success.
“Those guys are so annoying! If I had the chance, I’d beat them all up!”
Yuehua Fengyun leaned back in her chair. Recalling the aftermath of the witches’ battle, the sheer pressure had made her blood run cold.
“The previous Seat of Mercy died at the hands of a witch of that level…”
Although “bishop” sounded prestigious, their duty as high-ranking members of the Church was to face off against high-Order witches during conflicts. Yuehua Fengyun had been confident in her abilities, but after witnessing the power that could reshape the landscape…
“How can we possibly defeat monsters like that?!”
Yuehua Fengyun rubbed her aching forehead, doubting her own strength. And there wasn’t just one witch. She began to think about how to defeat them.
“This is so frustrating. I should go somewhere else to clear my head…”
She stood up. For some reason, the image of the pink-haired nun kept appearing in her mind, especially after she decided to go somewhere else. The nun’s pleading expression flashed before her eyes.
“Maybe I should go there… she escaped from the witches, perhaps I can gather some information. Yes, gather information!”
Meanwhile, Luo Yuxi, looking at the familiar church, almost cried tears of joy. After that harrowing experience, she wouldn’t leave her room, let alone go on a business trip. She hadn’t visited the elven brothel, hadn’t seen the Elf Queen, and almost got sold off to some pervert by that damn succubus witch.
“Is this the Church headquarters? It seems even more run-down than the Witch Auction~”

Conflicts were common at the Witch Auction, so the venue was deliberately kept simple, except for the area where the merchandise was stored. It could be easily rebuilt if destroyed. Ling Shuang wearily went upstairs to rest.

Ling Shuang left the main hall. Yun Keke and Yu Keke looked around curiously. Luo Yuxi thought, My little church now has three witches. I feel more like a kindergarten teacher than a nun.
“Sigh, this is so tiring. I wish a big sister would comfort my wounded heart…”
Knock, knock, knock!!
Just as she reached the church door, someone knocked. Luo Yuxi rubbed her aching head, pulled Yun Keke down from the Goddess statue, and carried Yu Keke to a seat in the hall.
“It’s probably a believer here to pray. You two better behave, or I won’t take you to headquarters…”
“Okay!”
Luo Yuxi sighed and opened the door. A familiar white top hat greeted her. She looked down and saw the black-haired bishop, Yuehua Fengyun, standing there with a smug look, hands on her hips.
“As your superior, I’ve come to check on your mental state. Aren’t you touched~?”
Luo Yuxi looked at Yuehua Fengyun, who was half a head shorter than her. Although her height wasn’t exactly loli-like, her flat chest definitely placed her in that category.
“Hey, what’s with that look! I’m your superior!”
“Sorry, sorry… but isn’t the southern border region under the jurisdiction of the Seat of Mercy…?”
“I still outrank you. Move aside, I’ve been talking for so long, and you still won’t let me in!”
Yuehua Fengyun glared at the nun. She was the superior, yet this shameless, alluring nun dared to defy her. But as expected of a nun coveted by witches, her outfit was indeed enticing.
“But this is just a small church, I have nothing to offer you, Bishop… Is there something you need…?”
Luo Yuxi had been about to let her in, but now, with the twin witches in the main hall, letting a bishop in would be like leading a lamb to the slaughter. Ling Shuang was still resting upstairs. Luo Yuxi’s mind raced, trying to find a way to get rid of Yuehua Fengyun.
“You really don’t want me to come in. Are you hiding something…?”
“Of course not! What could I possibly hide in a small church like this? If there’s nothing else, Bishop, perhaps you could come back another time~!”
Yuehua Fengyun faltered. She couldn’t possibly say she had teleported from headquarters just because she wanted to see Luo Yuxi. She quickly took out a disc-shaped detection device, glad she had brought it.
“You were captured by witches and escaped on your own. Knowing their personalities, they won’t let you off so easily. So I’m placing this detection device in the center of the church…”
Luo Yuxi’s heart leaped into her throat. She didn’t know the device’s range. If Yun Keke and Yu Keke in the main hall were detected, it would be over.
“But witches look like ordinary people, except for most Mythical Species witches, only detection devices can identify them…”
Yuehua Fengyun tried to enter the church under the guise of installing the device, but Luo Yuxi blocked her again. Yuehua Fengyun looked up at Luo Yuxi, glad she had stopped in time, or she would have bumped into her… assets.
“I’ll install it myself. It’s just a small matter, no need to trouble you, Bishop~”
“You’re definitely hiding something! Move aside, let me in and see!”
