Chapter 84: Magic! This Vampire Wants to Learn Magic!
“So, Chris doesn’t know you’re here?”
“Nope. She went to the Golden Forest to gather magic materials. She said she’ll start teaching you magic soon. I was bored, so I came to play with you.”
“I don’t have time to play… Wait, what?! Chris is going to teach me magic?!”
Loaded with shopping bags, Ruo Xiaoxi suddenly shrieked in the middle of the street, drawing stares from passersby.
She quickly covered her mouth and pulled Latona to a nearby bench under a tree, setting the bags down beside them.
“Really? She’s going to teach me magic?”
“Yeah, you can’t be a vampire without learning magic. It’s too dangerous otherwise.”
“Then, Latona, ask her what kind of magic she’s going to teach me!”
“I don’t know. She just left after saying that. If you really want to learn magic, I can teach you. For sure.”
“That last part makes the whole sentence sound dubious.”
“I’m not lying. Whatever you want to learn, I can teach you the basics,” Latona said, swinging her legs.
“It’s not going to be some… indecent magic, is it? Like, ‘100 Ways to Extract Essence’ or something…”
“I know both decent and indecent magic. I can teach you whichever you prefer.” Latona tilted her head thoughtfully. Of course, some succubus magic might not be suitable for Ruo Xiaoxi.
She didn’t even deny the ‘100 Ways’ thing?! Ruo Xiaoxi had expected a denial. This is scary!
“Right, take these clothes home and try them on. You can return them if they don’t fit. I have something to do. If I’m late, just find somewhere to sleep.”
“What is it? Can’t I come with you?”
“It’s… probably best if you don’t. Here’s my spare key.” Ruo Xiaoxi took a hidden key from her pocket and placed it in Latona’s hand.
Latona looked at the shiny key. “We just met, and Xiaobao is already giving me her house key. Are you hinting at something?”
“Or I could just take it back and you can sleep on the streets.”
Ruo Xiaoxi narrowed her eyes and snatched the key back.
Latona, panicked, reached out with both hands, her tail popping out and wrapping around Ruo Xiaoxi’s wrist. “I want it! I want it!”
“Wah! Fine, fine! Here! But put your tail away!” Ruo Xiaoxi quickly pushed the tail back under Latona’s clothes.
It really was connected to her emotions. Whenever she got excited or anxious, the tail would pop out.
It was kind of cute. Ruo Xiaoxi wanted to tickle the heart-shaped tip. She’d heard that part was sensitive for succubi. Would Latona have an… interesting reaction?
“Be careful, Latona. You’re so cute and… well-endowed. I’m worried some bad guys might target you.”
“Bad guys?”
“Like… what if you encounter some… pervert?”
“I don’t know.”
“What do you mean you don’t know? Are you… naive? Sigh, I’m so worried. Forget it, I’ll walk you home.” Ruo Xiaoxi put a hand on her hip, unable to shake off her concern.
Latona shook her head. “I can fly and turn invisible. I’ll be home in no time. I don’t need to walk.”
“Ah! Right… you can fly and turn invisible… Then… there’s nothing to worry about!” Why was she, a flightless being, worrying about someone who could fly?
Ruo Xiaoxi watched as Latona gradually turned transparent, then vanished. Suddenly, she felt a tickle on her stomach and flinched.
“Wh-what?!” She looked around, but Latona was nowhere to be seen.
“Hee hee.” Latona giggled, and then Ruo Xiaoxi heard the sound of wings flapping as she flew away.
A little past ten that night, the Tarot Astrology Shop opened for business.
Ruo Xiaoxi peeked inside. As before, only the bar counter was illuminated, and the two beautiful vampire girls were working.
With no customers, they chatted and playfully nudged each other.
“Welcome!” The chime of the door triggered an automatic greeting. Yifulan placed a menu on the counter, wearing a professional smile.
Still slightly traumatized from yesterday, Ruo Xiaoxi approached hesitantly. “Could… could I have a milk tea with foam? Not the special one, just a regular one…”
………………
“Waaah, I’m so exhausted! Military training is torture! Standing under the scorching sun… I’m a vampire! I can’t handle this! Why am I being subjected to this cruel and unusual punishment?”
“And then when I got home, I ran into a succubus who wanted to… drain me! It’s been a rough day… But she’s really cute, like an elf from a fairytale. And… magically well-endowed.”
“I even bought her some clothes. I almost spent all the money I just earned from my part-time job. Guess I’ll have to go back to being a children’s clothing model, playing with a bunch of kids… hic”
After half a glass of sparkling water, Ruo Xiaoxi slumped against the counter, rambling.
She held a glass of milk tea in her other hand, getting “drunk” on milk, pouring out her woes.
Su Xiaoxiao sat across from her, holding a round tray, and said gently, “That means you like her. You wanted to buy her clothes, wanted her to have nice things to wear. You can always earn more money, but that kindness is more valuable.”
“Military training is tough. Back in high school, I used to run around trying to escape the sun during PE class. But school is mostly about having fun with friends. It’s like an ivory tower, a beautiful environment that makes you forget the hardships…”
“Waaaah, your voice is so soothing… My heart is melting…” Ruo Xiaoxi slumped further onto the counter, intoxicated by the soothing words and the attention.
She decided to come here every day!
The click-clack of high heels echoed from the stairs. Yifulan descended, carrying two bottles of yogurt drink.
“Here, have some more. It’s not milk tea with foam, but we have plenty of… milk here.” Yifulan was certain she hadn’t added any alcohol, but Ruo Xiaoxi was getting “drunk” on milk alone.
She looked a bit like her own lolita after eating a chocolate liqueur. Cute and silly.
“Actually, with a little magic, you can easily protect yourself from sunlight,” Yifulan said, sitting beside Su Xiaoxiao. “You can even use magic to… impress older sisters~”
“However, if you truly want to learn magic… you might have to shoulder some special responsibilities. Are you prepared to embrace a new world?”
“If you’ve thought it through…”
“Then we welcome you to the other side.”
“Embark on this magical journey filled with miracles.”
