Chapter 75: Please Don’t Use Magic Under the Guise of Magic!
Before Ruo Xiaoxi could even taste her milk tea, she was already stuffed with dog food.
They should rename this place the Dog Food Milk Tea Shop.
“Hmm? Speaking of which, isn’t this place called Xiaoqian Milk Tea Shop? Who’s Xiaoqian…?”
“Xiaoqian is the manager, or rather, her parents are. Now that she’s grown up, she’s basically taking over. We’re here to help,” Yifulan replied.
“Oh…” Ruo Xiaoxi realized she’d asked something irrelevant.
“Well then, give me a tasty milk tea. I don’t know what I want.” She looked at the menu, overwhelmed by the choices.
Yifulan turned. Su Xiaoxiao was already on a stepladder, reaching for a glass from the top shelf.
“One moment, the owner is making you a special milk tea. It’ll take a little time. In the meantime, how about enjoying a magic show?”
It all felt so sophisticated, the special drinks and magic show. Sitting on the high stool at the counter, Ruo Xiaoxi felt a surge of elegance.
Just… hope it’s not too expensive, or I’ll blow my entire paycheck…
Yifulan expertly shuffled a deck of cards. Just as Ruo Xiaoxi expected a card-guessing trick, the cards suddenly flew into the air!
The cards, of various suits, arranged themselves neatly, swirling around Yifulan like petals, forming a sort of sealing barrier. The magician simply stood there, hands outstretched, as if doing nothing.
“Wow, amazing!” Ruo Xiaoxi was immediately captivated.
“Hee hee.” Yifulan smiled and with a wave of her hand, redirected the cards to fly around Ruo Xiaoxi. Each card danced as if imbued with life.
She produced a black top hat, and with a shake, a swarm of tiny bats flew out. Ruo Xiaoxi flinched, but when she picked one up from the counter, she realized it was just paper.
An illusion! It’s an illusion! I’m under an illusion!
What high-level magic was this?! The scene was like a special effect, not just unexpected, but unbelievably dazzling. Ruo Xiaoxi was starting to think it was actual magic.
Please, Magician-senpai, don’t use magic under the guise of magic!
“Interesting?” Yifulan snapped her fingers, and the cards surrounding Ruo Xiaoxi transformed into lifelike, glowing butterflies, leaving trails of light as they vanished into the air.
Ruo Xiaoxi stared, dumbfounded and awestruck. Questions filled her mind. How did they do that? “Teach me! I want to learn magic! It’s so romantic! Please teach me, I want to do that too!”
“Want to learn? That’ll cost extra.” Yifulan folded her arms, the performance over.
Ruo Xiaoxi hadn’t had enough. If she learned that trick, wouldn’t it be incredibly useful for flirting with older girls? The butterflies at the end were especially beautiful.
“I just noticed, are you wearing… the First High School badge?” Yifulan asked.
“Ah, yes, school just started today. I’m a first-year. How did you know the badge?”
“Hee hee, because Su Xiaoxiao and I graduated from First High. So you’re a new first-year. Enjoy your time at school; it’s a lot of fun.”
“Eh!? You’re graduates? So… you’re my seniors? Upperclassmen?”
“You could say that. Xiaoxiao and I just graduated last year. So you’re three years below us. I’ll give you a 30% discount on your milk tea.”
Yifulan sat down, resting her chin on her hands, chatting with her junior with interest.
During their conversation, Ruo Xiaoxi learned that Yifulan and Su Xiaoxiao were married. So, when Yifulan called Su Xiaoxiao “wife,” it was because she really was her wife!
A truly sweet yuri love story. They looked so happy.
Ruo Xiaoxi’s initial thoughts of getting their contact information faded. They were already a couple.
A sacred marriage vow protected them; they were off-limits. Besides, Ruo Xiaoxi loved seeing girls being affectionate. Their sweetness made her feel a pang of longing. I need to find a senpai to hug.
“You seem very interested in our love story.” Yifulan picked up the tarot cards again, a mysterious glint in her eyes. “Want me to tell your love fortune?”
“No… I don’t need that. I don’t believe in fortune-telling or horoscopes.”
“No? Then… how about something else? Like, have you been feeling like someone’s been following you, but you don’t know who’s watching you?”
“I don’t need anything el— Wait!” Ruo Xiaoxi gasped, swallowing hard, asking in disbelief, “Can… can you elaborate on that?”
Yifulan smiled, as if it were the simplest thing in the world.
“Don’t worry, I don’t think she’s a bad person. Think of her as a curious kitten, following you secretly, observing your life before approaching.”
“A kitten? A kitten?” Ruo Xiaoxi pressed.
“Who knows? Fortune-telling doesn’t reveal everything.” Yifulan shrugged, glancing towards a corner outside the shop.
Outside, the succubus Latona quickly ducked out of sight, pulling her tail in, heart pounding. Who is that? Such strong senses! She noticed me instantly…
Inside, Ruo Xiaoxi remained puzzled.
Shortly after, Su Xiaoxiao emerged from behind the counter with a glass of red wine, gently placing it before Ruo Xiaoxi. In a soft, gentle voice, she said, “Please enjoy.”
After handing over the glass, she held the round tray in front of her, standing obediently, silently watching Ruo Xiaoxi.
“Thank you.” Ruo Xiaoxi took the wine glass, frowning slightly. Something felt wrong.
Why red wine? Wasn’t it supposed to be a special milk tea?
Then, a sweet scent reached her nose. It wasn’t the smell of alcohol, but a familiar, peculiar scent — not milk tea, not wine, but… blood!?
Why… blood?
“Eh? This is…?”
Ruo Xiaoxi’s forehead beaded with sweat, her hand trembling slightly around the glass. A sense of unease washed over her as she looked timidly at the two girls before her.
Yifulan tilted her head with a smile, and then Ruo Xiaoxi heard her say—
“Aren’t you going to drink it, dear Miss Vampire?”
