7 Meeting the Parents?
Seeing Bai Yue blocking their path, bouquet in hand, Yan Zhen proactively put his arm around Instructor Yu Xuan’s waist, declaring his ownership.
The smile on Bai Yue’s face vanished, then slowly reappeared as he stepped forward. “Yu Xuan, you’re back. You’ve become even more beautiful after two years.”
Instructor Yu Xuan glanced at him and nodded curtly. “Hello, Bai Yue.”
That was all. She didn’t even bother adding a “Congratulations on your graduation.”
She would normally be polite to a classmate, but towards a persistent suitor, she kept her distance, having no intention of accepting his advances, as she had always done.
Their interaction attracted the attention of passersby, sensing a brewing drama.
Bai Yue forced a smile. “These flowers are for you, to celebrate your return.”
Instructor Yu Xuan shook her head slightly. “Thank you for the thought, but I can’t accept them. You should keep them.”
Her tone was distant.
Bai Yue was used to this rejection, but he never gave up. After all, other suitors didn’t even have the chance to exchange a few words with her.
Or so it used to be.
Now, seeing her intimacy with the boy beside her, Bai Yue felt a surge of resentment, as if Instructor Yu Xuan had betrayed him.
He was the one closest to her. Why was she so close to this stranger?
“You’re still as… unapproachable as ever, not giving us any chance.” Bai Yue feigned a wry smile, casually tossing the flowers aside. “Since you won’t accept them, these flowers have lost their meaning.”
Instructor Yu Xuan didn’t even blink. “Is there anything else? If not, I’ll be going.”
Bai Yue took a deep breath and asked, “Who is this?”
Before Instructor Yu Xuan could answer, Yan Zhen spoke up. “Hello, I’m Instructor Yu Xuan’s student, and also her boyfriend. My name is Yan Zhen.”
“Student?!” Bai Yue was taken aback, then his expression darkened. “Are you the new student from the Gallo Kingdom?”
Yan Zhen nodded. “Yes, Yan Zhen from Martial Tang City, Gallo Kingdom. Pleased to meet you, Instructor… Bai Yue?”
Gallo Kingdom! A boy from a remote, insignificant kingdom, how could he be worthy of the Yu family’s eldest daughter?! She must have been taken advantage of by this boy’s sweet talk while she was away!
—Damn it! Three years, he had pursued her for three years, only to lose to a boy from a backwater kingdom!
Bai Yue’s jealousy peaked, and he felt a surge of animosity towards Yan Zhen, wanting him to disappear.

Yan Zhen glanced at the beautiful Instructor Yu Xuan and smiled. “I am quite lucky.”
Any ordinary bystander would have found the older woman/younger man dynamic endearing, but Bai Yue found Yan Zhen’s smile infuriating, as if mocking his defeat.
“I won’t give up, student Yan Zhen. I’ll find a way to win Yu Xuan’s heart.”
Yan Zhen’s eyes narrowed, his pupils turning into vertical slits, gleaming with a sinister light.
“I’d prefer it if Instructor Bai Yue would be more sensible and not disturb our lives. If you insist on these pointless pursuits, I’ll take appropriate measures to protect the person I love.”
Bai Yue laughed in anger. “Hehe, are you threatening me, student Yan Zhen?”
Yan Zhen smiled back. “Is that even a question, Instructor Bai Yue? I made myself quite clear.”
—Are you an idiot?
Bai Yue felt as if Yan Zhen had just insulted him. His face turned red as he suppressed his anger. “Student Yan Zhen, you’re being too overbearing. Any man has the right to pursue Yu Xuan, not just me. There are many other suitors within both the Inner and Outer Academies. How many can you stop? Besides, a beauty deserves a strong partner. Yu Xuan is so stunningly beautiful. A young boy like you… winning her over won’t be that easy!”
“What nonsense are you spouting? You dare to talk about pursuing my woman right in front of me? I’m already showing great restraint by not beating you to a pulp.” Yan Zhen dropped the pretense. “She’s already taken. Scram.”
—Otherwise, I’ll treat you like any other two-timing villain. I’m a champion of pure love, and I’ll cut down any homewreckers without hesitation, hmph!
“Beat me to a pulp? You?” Bai Yue sneered, sensing Yan Zhen’s aura. “So you’re at the Mystic Master realm. Somewhat impressive, but you’re still just a Mystic Master, while I’m a Mystic General! What makes you think you can beat me?”
He released his Mystic General aura, a faint pressure spreading out, making the surrounding students’ hearts clench.
“…Yan Zhen killed the Mystic General-level Silver Moon City Lord when he was still at the Mystic One realm.” Instructor Yu Xuan suddenly interrupted. “You should leave, Bai Yue. And don’t come looking for me again.”
“Yu Xuan, even if you want to protect this boy, you don’t have to lie to me with such an absurd story.” Bai Yue was unconvinced. “A Mystic One killing a Mystic General? That’s ridiculous!”
“Believe it or not—let’s go, Yan Zhen.”
Instructor Yu Xuan took Yan Zhen’s arm, and they walked away, leaving Bai Yue behind.
Watching them leave, Bai Yue’s eyes darkened, his teeth gritted, resentment threatening to consume him.
“A mere nobody from a small kingdom, daring to touch the woman I have my eyes on. You’re courting death!”
He narrowed his eyes, a flash of killing intent crossing them.
Unfazed, Yan Zhen, led by Instructor Yu Xuan, continued exploring the Outer Academy’s facilities. They strolled around like a couple on a date, occasionally buying snacks and sitting on benches, feeding each other. They looked like a close older sister and younger brother, or perhaps lovers, attracting attention wherever they went.
After about half an hour, as they were about to move on to their next destination, they were stopped again.
This time, it was a mature and alluring woman, wearing the Outer Academy instructor’s robe of the Sacred Ground Academy, her figure curvaceous and elegant.
Her black hair was tied up in a bun, and she wore silver-rimmed glasses, the standard appearance of a female instructor.
However, her cultivation was at the Mystic King realm!
Yan Zhen looked at her warily, then heard Instructor Yu Xuan exclaim in surprise, “Aunt?!”
Aunt?! Yan Zhen was dumbfounded.
The beautiful instructor hummed in acknowledgment and said indifferently, “Come with me. The Dean wants to see you.”
Hearing this, they exchanged glances, both feeling a bit nervous.
