Chapter 183: Dream Manipulation, Words of Coercion
Countless questions swirled in the Ninth Elder’s mind. She was incredibly curious about his past experiences.
But after a moment of silence…
She sighed helplessly.
“Tianlu, that dream projection just now put a heavy strain on the Moon Soul Prison. It doesn’t have enough Yin energy.”
“That’s a problem.”
Lin Tianlu pondered silently.
The Ninth Elder studied his serious expression, then said, “Perhaps I can try to reactivate the Moon Soul Prison.”
“Martial Aunt, that’s too dangerous—”
“But I need your help, Tianlu.”
She smiled and held up their joined hands. “Your Yang energy is so strong. You can help me activate the Moon Soul Prison. It will just take some time.”
Lin Tianlu was startled.
Then he said seriously, “Thank you for your help, Martial Aunt.”
“I don’t know your past, Tianlu, but it’s only natural for me to help my son-in-law.” The Ninth Elder smiled warmly and patted his chest. “Don’t disappoint Ruoyu.”
“I won’t.”
Lin Tianlu hesitated for a moment, then continued, “Martial Aunt, I—”
“There’s no need to explain.”
The Ninth Elder took his hand and they sat down cross-legged, facing each other. She smiled gently. “It’s enough that you’re my son-in-law. I don’t care about anything else.
Now, just wait patiently, Tianlu. Let me use my Yin techniques.”
Her expression turned serious as she closed her eyes and formed hand seals.
Lin Tianlu remained silent, his mind focused.
…
Meanwhile, in another sacred ground…
Mao Ruoyu knelt on the ground, staring at the jade pendant dangling from the black-haired woman’s lips, her face filled with shock and disbelief.
That pendant… was still inside her body!
“How is this… possible—”
This woman wasn’t an illusionary heart demon.
It was… herself?!
“You’re truly pathetic.”
The black-haired woman narrowed her eyes, swallowing the jade pendant. She giggled. “You’re surprised to see yourself?”
“You—”
Mao Ruoyu calmed her racing heart and quickly backed away.
Although her stomach still ached, she was no longer the same weak and helpless woman. Her body was filled with a powerful Yin energy, enough to fight back!
She swiftly formed hand seals, unleashing a series of Yin techniques.
A surge of Yin energy, like a raging tide, transformed into dozens of invisible chains, binding the black-haired woman’s limbs.
Another rope of Yin energy snaked towards her from behind, wrapping tightly around her neck, constricting her.
“Heh—”
But the black-haired woman didn’t seem fazed by the restraints. She chuckled softly. “Your Yin techniques are so weak and pathetic. Do you really think you can bind me with these flimsy chains?”
Mao Ruoyu’s expression turned serious, and she formed another hand seal.
A dozen streaks of light, sharp as needles, materialized in the air, piercing the woman’s body from all directions. Fueled by Mao Ruoyu’s Yin energy, they penetrated deep into her flesh.
“Lunar Phase Technique, Soul Binding… Activate!”
Dark flames ignited on the chains binding her limbs, and the needles within her body activated, transforming into a soul-devouring Moon Shadow technique. Combined with her powerful Yin energy, this attack should be enough to seal this strange woman—
“Pitiful.”
A mocking voice rang out.
Mao Ruoyu’s heart skipped a beat, a sense of dread washing over her.
Before she could react, she felt a powerful force pulling on her limbs, lifting her into the air. She struggled frantically.
She looked down to see dozens of silver threads wrapped tightly around her body, unbreakable!
“Wh-when did—”
“You possess such extraordinary talent, such a unique constitution, yet you’ve wasted it all. And now, you’re easily defeated by me.”
The black-haired woman had somehow broken free from her restraints. She walked towards Mao Ruoyu, her movements graceful and seductive.
“You’re filled with desires, yet you constantly suppress them, hiding behind a mask of propriety and restraint. You’re a pathetic sight.”
“What are you talking about?!”
“You still don’t understand?”
The black-haired woman leaned closer, a mischievous smile on her lips. “I am you, and you are me.”
“You—”
“Still confused?” The black-haired woman tilted her head, her smile turning sinister. “To put it simply, I am your body, your other half, the true nature and desires that you’ve been suppressing.”
Mao Ruoyu was stunned.
She knew her constitution was unique, but she had never imagined… that it would create another consciousness!
“It seems you finally understand.”
The black-haired woman’s smile faded, her expression turning cold. “Now it’s my turn—”
Clang!
A flash of sword light appeared between them.
The black-haired woman dodged gracefully, leaping back, her movements fluid and elegant.
She twirled her hair and glanced at Hua Shuya. “You’re still standing, Miss Shuya?”
“Stay away from Madam!”
Hua Shuya steadied herself, wiping the blood from her lips, her gaze unwavering.
“Didn’t you hear what I just said?”
The black-haired woman’s smile turned icy. “Am I not the Madam Mao you know?”
“You… are not!”
Hua Shuya gasped, then raised her sword again, ready to fight.
“—How heartless.”
The black-haired woman’s expression calmed, and with a wave of her hand, an ancient pipa appeared in her arms.
She plucked a string, and a soft, melodious sound filled the air.
But as the music reached Hua Shuya’s ears, her face contorted in pain, and she stumbled back, her head pounding!
What kind of sorcery was this?!
“I almost felt sorry for you. But you’re just a traitor.”
She strummed the pipa, and the waves of sound intensified, making Hua Shuya cry out in agony. She collapsed to her knees, her sword falling from her grasp, her hands clutching her head.
“Stop it!”
Mao Ruoyu screamed, her voice filled with urgency. “Leave Shuya alone! Come at me instead!”
“Hmph!”
The black-haired woman snorted and stopped playing.
Hua Shuya lay motionless, unconscious, her breathing shallow.
“That’s just a small taste of what’s to come. Now, lie there and reflect on your actions.”
The black-haired woman walked towards Mao Ruoyu, her pipa in her arms.
She stared at Mao Ruoyu’s face, a mix of anger and fear, and chuckled softly. “Do you know why I’m here?”
“You…”
“To take over your mind and body, of course. I’ll be the new Mao Ruoyu.”
Mao Ruoyu’s eyes widened in horror, her voice caught in her throat.
“And—”
She leaned closer, her voice a seductive whisper in Mao Ruoyu’s ear. “I’ll be with my beloved Tianlu, forever and ever.”
“You, how could you…”
“Silly girl.” The black-haired woman smiled seductively. “I wouldn’t exist without him. My body and soul are bound to him. I just want to be with him, always and forever.”
Mao Ruoyu gritted her teeth, her heart burning with anger.
But as she was about to retort, a wave of drowsiness washed over her, her consciousness fading.
“Tianlu…”
“He belongs to me.”
The black-haired woman caressed her face, her golden-red eyes filled with a chilling light. “Only I can be by his side. All his love belongs to me. Once we leave the Lunar Valley, I’ll get rid of all those other women and have him all to myself.”
“Hehe~”
She chuckled, her voice filled with a disturbing delight. “Ah~ Tianlu is my precious treasure. I’ll cherish him, care for him, bear his children, and manage his household… I would even give him my heart and soul~”
Mao Ruoyu’s head drooped, her voice weak and barely audible. “No… don’t…”
“Don’t?”
The black-haired woman scoffed. “Are you saying you want me to punish Tianlu? To carve him open and see whose heart truly beats for him?”
Boom—!!
A torrent of Yin energy erupted!
The black-haired woman’s expression changed, and she quickly leaped back.
A swirling vortex of Yin energy appeared before them, rising towards the sky, like moonlight scattering into countless shimmering stars.
Then, a figure clad in white emerged from the vortex, her hair and robes flowing gracefully, her aura pure and ethereal.
“I’ve finally… regained my true form.”
Seeing her transformation, the black-haired woman narrowed her eyes and chuckled softly. “At least you still care about his safety, just like me.”
