Chapter 249: Breaking Through With Force
“Can you tell me your answer, Mr. Kailun?”
Galina leaned forward, her ample bosom practically resting on the table from Kailun’s perspective.
As expected of a woman the same age as the Pope, she was a ripe fruit.
Personally, Kailun preferred younger women. Galina was right on the edge of his strike zone.
Of course, there were exceptions, like Ottovia, whose true age was over ten thousand years.
Her mental age wasn’t that old, and her appearance was also youthful, making her a special case.
Kailun looked at Empress Galina again, his gaze lingering on her eyes this time.
“I wanted to refuse, but considering I don’t have to pay anything and can even gain many benefits, I can’t bring myself to say no. So, to fulfill Miss Galina’s wish, I’m willing to sacrifice my happiness and agree to your proposal.”
There was no such thing as a free lunch. The Empress must have a significant motive for offering so much.
Fate wasn’t within the Empire. This was crucial information for Kailun.
He had brought Afra along precisely to deal with Fate.
If he simply deduced Fate’s strength based on attribute feedback, the result would suggest that she wasn’t overwhelmingly powerful. He even had the courage to challenge her one-on-one.
But such an entity couldn’t be assessed based on simple attributes, unless Fate was as weak as the unlucky Ottovia.
This was obviously impossible. Fate, with her advantage, had retained far more power than Ottovia.
Hearing Kailun’s answer, Galina’s smile stiffened. “You’re quite the joker.”
“You think so too? Everyone says I’m humorous. By the way, can you tell me where the restroom is?”
Kailun stood up and looked around.
He needed to excuse himself and send a magic letter to Afra. The plan had changed, and he had to have her return to Alaye and then use the super teleportation magic circle to go back to the Xiya Kingdom.
He wasn’t afraid of anything else, but he was worried about Fate attacking his home. Without Carol’s fully developed power, the defenses at home might not be able to withstand Fate.
He hoped to extract more useful information from Galina. Otherwise, he would be at a disadvantage.
Galina looked at him with a puzzled expression. With Kailun’s strength, he shouldn’t be affected by such physiological needs.
She sensed his displayed strength again. Oh, only at the first rank.
But this first rank wasn’t the real first rank. According to the intelligence reports, Kailun was already at the peak of the ninth rank.
Those who underestimated him would pay a heavy price. Appealing to his desires was the best option.
“Come with me. I’ll personally show you the way.”
Galina also stood up and led Kailun to the restroom deep within the courtyard. Upon arriving, she couldn’t help but tease him, “My dear Mr. Kailun, as my most esteemed guest, would you like me to assist you? If it were you, I think I would be willing to do so.”
A normal person would refuse such a playful offer, but to Galina’s surprise, Kailun not only didn’t refuse but also put his arm around her shoulder, pulling her closer.
“Sure, but be gentle.” Kailun embraced her smooth shoulder.
Galina panicked. “That’s not what I… I meant…”
Although she had prepared herself to “sacrifice” for Fate, she hadn’t expected Kailun to be so bold.
And to offer assistance right from the start, wasn’t that a bit too stimulating?
Galina, who had always been alone, felt her heart racing, a blush creeping up her fair neck.
People only knew her as a cold-blooded tyrant. No one had ever touched her body, let alone gotten close to her heart.
Thinking about what might happen next, she lost her composure. Was just “assisting” him enough? Would he make other requests? Would she lose her “first time” in a restroom? What would they name their children…
Before she knew it, they had entered the restroom.
The restroom in the courtyard was spacious and bright, clean and tidy, with a faint floral fragrance.
Kailun looked down at Galina, who was only slightly shorter than him. “Alright, Miss Galina, I’ll leave the rest to you. Oh, wait, as a trial couple, I should address you more intimately, right? My dear Miss Galina?”
“Hiss~”
Hearing his overly sweet voice, she shivered and quickly broke free from his embrace, running to the door. “I’m sorry, I just realized I also have some ‘physiological needs’ to attend to. I’ll see you later, bye.”
After saying that, Galina rushed into the restroom next door.
She was truly scared. What if Kailun asked her to use her mouth? Should she fight him to the death? Or fight him to the death?
“Sigh, she can’t even fulfill this small request. How boring.”
Kailun chuckled and took out… his communication device from his pocket.
He immediately sent a message to Afra, asking her to return to Alaye and use the super teleportation magic circle.
He told her not to worry about his safety. Galina alone couldn’t threaten him.
Since Fate had left Galina to stall for time, Kailun would play along. He would swallow the sugar-coated bullet and have Afra fire it back. Perfect.
His unique ability allowed him to bestow his attributes on others regardless of their location. Even if he stayed at home, he could still control the situation.
For Kailun, information was the most important thing. As long as he knew Fate’s location and motives, he could control everything.
In his eyes, Galina was the only breakthrough point.
“I’m going to ‘break through’ her tonight!”
This was the message Kailun wrote in the magic letter.
……
“Your Holiness, the rebel army led by Paul has arrived at the gates of the Papal Palace, challenging us. How should we respond?”
Minister Vanni looked at the “Pope” with a complicated expression.
The Pope had changed several times in the past few days. She could barely tell what was real and what wasn’t.
Thankfully, Helena had always been by the Pope’s side, which eased her anxiety. At least, she wasn’t the only one who had made mistakes.
Meggie Liran, hidden within the white light, gave Vanni a meaningful look. “Let those Cardinals who came to provide support fight. I need to see their sincerity. Execute anyone who retreats. Pell will be in charge of supervising the battle.”
“Understood. But my name is Helena, Your Holiness. Please don’t forget.”
Helena rolled her eyes at Meggie Liran and disappeared with a teleport.
Vanni: “…”
She could tell that the Pope before her was most likely a fake, just a stand-in for the real Pope.
Meggie Liran: ???
